The muse is a feisty young woman who enjoys fighting and long walks on the beach. She’s just opened a brand new mage guild and is struggling to get it off the ground. She’ll probably try recruit your muse into her guild tbh.
Rogue.
As Gajeel leaned forward, Rogue leaned back, subtly (or not so subtly if one was observant, and dragon slayers tended to be so) putting more distance between the two of them. His arms folded themselves across his chest, a subconscious barrier between himself and the iron dragon slayer. He didn’t want the man getting close to him in any sense.
The frown that had touched his lips moments ago deepened, sharpened by an annoyance that tightened his jaw a fraction at the reminder of that name. Ryos. He had taken it because he didn’t want to be a Rogue, and he didn’t want to be himself, the boy that had horrific nightmares, trouble sleeping and the sense that there was something, something evil lurking somewhere close by.
“My name is Rogue,” he reminded Gajeel, also reassuring himself of his identity. He wasn’t sure what to make of the male’s other words, about giving a damn about Lucy. The Gajeel he had known years ago hadn’t cared about anyone, he had been brutal even to his fellow guildmates. And now he claimed to give a damn about Lucy? Could someone really change that much?
It had been years, Rogue supposed, but then again, it had been far longer for him than for Gajeel. Perhaps if Gajeel hadn’t of been stuck for seven years, the change in him would have been more easily believed by Rogue, but as it was…he didn’t trust it all that much. Sure, Fairy Tail was known for its ‘bonds’ and the power they could pull out of nowhere just from the fuel of feelings for their friends, but was that really Gajeel now?
“And if she’s your guildmate that you give a damn about, perhaps you should go talk to her, rather than me.”
Oh he definitely noticed the distance the ebony haired man across from him was putting between them, neither of them had ever been anything but stubborn however and this wasn’t about being a jackass to Rogue. Though if he kept up the defiance then he may just have to have some harsh words with the kid, even if he wasn’t such a kid anymore. Sighing a bit, his hand moving to rub over his face, he leaned back in his chair and stared at the other, snorting in response to him.
“I ain’t stupid enough to try and do that, if I can smell her all over you then I ain’t got a doubt in my head that she smells like you... M’not really here to start bullshit over gettin’ close to another mans woman, like she’d openly show up here often anyway...” Yes, Gajeel might still be able to beat the other in a fight if he wanted to but he wasn’t there for that and he knew Lucy well enough to that the odds of her going around Sabertooth while Minerva was still there wouldn’t be too high.
While he was in fact interested in how the blonde was adjusting, protective instincts over her a little intense considering the guilt he carried because of his past actions to her, he hadn’t had any hopes of seeing her. Narrowing his eyes at Rogue, his arms getting crossed against his chest out of habit rather than wanting to visibly distance himself, he decided it was best to get something out of the way before he tried repairing what was beyond damaged.
“I doubt it’s necessary, ya never were a bastard of a kid, but if ya hurt her then you’ll have a real reason to be hesitant of me...”
Gajeel Redfox is a Twenty-Eight year old Changeling Lieutenant of the DuskWater pack. While he is very devoted to his pack, he is predominantly a dominant lone wolf that prefers to roam rather than stay in one place for too long, he tends to keep his thoughts and feelings to himself and can spend months away from those he considers family.
Gajeel is one of the strongest members of the pack when it comes to hand-to-hand combat and is very well versed with all types of weaponry, his main focus when travelling is dealing with any business deals that require meetings in person or any jobs his alpha (Ur) sees fit for him. He speaks multiple languages, as a result of travelling so often, and when it comes down to it he is very good at thinking strategically.

He understood the other Dragon Slayers animosity towards him quite easily, it was a simple fact that he had been a cold hearted bastard back in his Phantom Lord days and as he took note of the tension in the others shoulders he waved his hand at the bartender indicating he wanted another beer. He hadn’t actually seen Lucy around of late and then he’d been told she’d moved in with Rogue, something he had seen coming but was sure Fairy Tail was going to pitch a fit over the second they paid enough attention to realise.
Which was why he was making a point to stop by on his way back from a job to check in, and yes he did have an innate curiosity when it came to Rogue so that was simply another thing he could check off his list. Grinning more at him he leaned on the table slightly, he had no intentions of intimidating him today but he did want to know what was going on.
“Defensive as always, Ryos ~ Unfortunately for you, Bunny is one of the few guild mates I actually give a damn about...” Yes, Fairy Tail as a whole was his home but Lucy he always tried to keep an eye on, he had a certain respect for a woman that could stand up to him while he threatened to beat her to death and do nothing but laugh in his face. Which meant now, that he was less of a cold hearted bastard to most, it most definitely was his business.
Even if you BEAT me now, my heart wont break that easily.

A chuckle rumbled deep in his chest as he looked over at where Milli sat, trying to eat a steak with that damn spoon he’d made her. Had he known she’d have liked it so well he’d have made her more than just a spoon but it was more than entertaining to watch her struggle.
Well, just for a little while, the determination written clear on her face however had him thinking they’d be sitting there all damn night if she didn’t figure out a way to utilise the spoon soon. He thought she’d have just asked for something else but no, instead she continued to struggle until he flicked some mashed potato at her face and grinned.
“Ya know, I can make ya a knife and fork too, Kitten..?”
ROGUE AND GAJEEL:
This is specific to my Gajeel and @hasaikiba‘s Rogue, she has permission to use any headcanons revolving around Gajeel and Rogue since we came up with them together. This headcanon revolves around Gajeel and Rogue’s past and the fact they are Kin, see this post, and though they deny/fight it, it’s still there.
Rogue and Gajeel met when Rogue was 16 and Gajeel 20, in the year X783, it happened after when Rogue heard of a Dragon Slayer called 'Black Steel Gajeel' who was one of the top Mages in a guild called Phantom Lord. Travelling to Phantom Lord with the intention of joining the guild, he walked into the building and met the very man whose infamy had drawn him there, introducing himself as Ryos and explaining how he wanted to join Phantom Lord, to which Gajeel responded with a heavy punch and ridicules about how they didn't accept weak children into their guild, Juvia being the only person with enough backbone to actually reprimand Gajeel for it and ask if Rogue was okay.
At the time there had been an age restrictions on guild members, though they were often wavered if the child/teenager held enough magic power and ability to pull their own weight. In order to do this, Jose insisted that each new applicant would need to fight an S-Class Mage to ensure that they were strong enough, if they couldn't they were denied entry and told to not come back until they were sure of their Magic. With Rogue however Jose was instantly interested, having two Dragon Slayers in the guild was an advantage he was more than willing to exploit and so he allowed Rogue to join on the condition that he beat or drew a fight with Gajeel, to which he could not.
Rogue didn't stop coming back and trying though, using every trick in his arsenal to try and beat Gajeel but he couldn't and Jose allowed it because each time, Rogue was a little better than before and he knew that by the end of it, he'd be good enough. Gajeel however hated it, hated Rogue for being as stubborn and pigheaded as he was himself and more than anything else he hated the fact that ever since that first moment when he'd all but punched Rogue out of the guild, he'd felt a compulsion that getting harder and harder to ignore. He knew what it was, Metallicana had explained it all to him before he 'died', but it didn't make it any easier, Gajeel was a man who did not care for anyone but himself and Ryos was not a person he wanted to consider Kin.
Rogue had felt the compulsion too, it was almost brotherly in nature and due to how often that the two were mistaken for brothers it really was no surprise but like Gajeel, Rogue avoided the compulsion. His only need was to get strong enough to enter Phantom Lord and prove to everyone, especially Gajeel that he was not a child and he was strong enough to be taken seriously, he was a real threat. In order to do this, Rogue watched Gajeel, studied his movements in hopes that he could replicate them himself, if he studied the man then he could find a weakness while also getting stronger. To which Gajeel responded with nothing but threats and aggression, wishing he'd just go away.
Eventually though, Fairy Tail came and Rogue's attempts to prove himself would soon come to an end as Phantom Lord was disbanded. Something Rogue had immense trouble dealing with, especially when Gajeel went straight from Phantom Lord to the very guild who was behind it's destruction. He was lost, feeling betrayed by the person his mind had deemed Kin for joining the enemy and he had nowhere to go, meanwhile, Gajeel was avoiding the idea of Rogue entirely, he no longer belonged to Phantom Lord and he no longer had to deal with the annoying teenager who had been a pain in his side ever since he showed up. Not long after, most of Fairy Tail went missing.
After this Rogue met Sting and they, with Frosch and Lector, joined Sabertooth and everyone was seemingly beginning to forget all about the lost Fairies, except Rogue knew that Gajeel at least was alive because the Kinship he felt was still there, it was distant but it was there and though he didn’t like the connection, he knew it would’ve been severed had Gajeel truly been dead.
It had become evident to Sting though that in those years after the guild, Rogue had continued to check up on Natsu of all people, to the point where Sting said Rogue ‘looked up’ to Natsu. This was because Natsu had succeeded in doing what he could not, he beat Gajeel and had also gained him as a friend (considering Fairy Tail was all about nakama, he didn't know Gajeel wanted to destroy Natsu) something that Rogue certainly had never been able to do.
Rogue, now knowing Fairy Tail was back, only had one goal in mind when seeing Gajeel was entering the games, that he had to fight him and he had to win. For all the times that he had put him down, had beaten him, for all the times he had laughed in his face and made him feel worthless, Rogue wanted to show him what he had become and he was determined to beat him. Rogue did not win, he put up a good fight but alas he did not win and it brought back some terrible memories.
Gajeel did not look down at Rogue this time and think of him as weak however and because of this, though he behaved as though he had no idea who Rogue was, he was willing to begin to accept the Kinship that he’d begun feeling all those years ago towards Rogue. There was no longer any aggression or violence towards the other Dragon Slayer, no more than normal at least, and Gajeel was willing to be a nice guy to him.
Rogue however was not easily convinced and so he still remains sceptical of Gajeel despite the obvious change in his personality, he will always remember the man who beat him down every time he challenged him and that will take a long time to get rid of.
KIN:
❝A group of persons descended from a common ancestor or constituting a people, clan, tribe, or family.
Unlike with marking, there is a process every Dragon Slayer will go through that is called Kinship and it is involuntary. Kinship is something that most animals feel on a biological level, it's based on an evolutionary strategy that there is strength in numbers, it is where your loyalties lie and more often than not Kinship comes from blood/familial ties however it is not always that simple. More often than not, especially in orphaned Dragon Slayers, Kinship will spring in those that will become ingrained in their souls. It's as if their body and minds can tell that other person is someone who is supposed to be in their life.
Kinship is not something that has to be shown through a mark, generally there is no physical change in anyone but there is a very large change on the mental/emotional level that makes it hard, but not impossible, for two individuals to ignore. Generally, non-familial Kinship takes more time to develop, it is not an instantaneous recognition but something that builds as friendship does, of course this is not always the case and sometimes, especially with two Dragon Slayers, the connection is there upon first meeting.
BEHAVIOUR:
There are two possibilities when a Kinship is recognised in a Dragon Slayer, they will either fight the compulsion to view the other person as their Kin due to either their nature or simple dislike of the fact something was decided without their consent OR they will accept the connection and choose to behave like family to the other person.
Denial: Denial is very common behaviour for those who are aware of but have not accepted another person as Kin, they will reject the idea as it was not their decision, even so much that they go as far as to simply try and ignore the individual who is their Kin.
Aggression: Along with denial, aggression is also common behaviour for those who do not believe who the person is their Kin. Most times it is jsut aggressive behaviour in general but it can be directed at others who decide to interfere, physical aggression may occur towards the Kin too however it will never be enough to injure the person severely.
Possessive/over protective: When a person finds someone who is deemed as Kin, whether they have accepted it or not, there will always be a very possessive and overprotective nature within them when regarding that person. Even if outwardly they act as though they hate the other, they simply cannot help but protect the person their body recognises as family. Accompanying this, Dragon Slayers can get very jealous if their Kin finds a lover/very close friend as they will feel as though they are not getting enough of their attention and time, this is NOT a jealousy based on romantic love but purely platonic.
Caring: After the Kin has been accepted and the bonds strengthened further the Dragon Slayer will care for the other immensely. They will behave as though the person is their biological family in most cases, unless they already are then there will be no denial, and will do pretty much anything for them. Even if it is not in their normal personality.
If the other individual who is Kin is not a Dragon Slayer, they will still feel the compulsion to treat the other as though they are family however they can deny the feelings better. Unlike Dragon Slayers however, they will not entirely understand why it is happening.
The ONLY person who has permission to use this for their Dragon Slayer muses is Morgan.
DRAGON SLAYERS:
Almost everyone has an idea of how the Dragon Slayers have attributes similar to a Dragon, so yes some of these ideas have probably been used before or have something similar written because they’re all things that we’ve seen happen or have just assumed because it’s similar to Dragon behaviour. These are my headcanons for Slayers that I have had for a while, I use them in all my fanfics, and have worked through them with Morgan so they will be similar to hers!
SENSES:
It’s a known fact, in canon, that Dragon Slayers have enhanced senses. So Sense of smell, sight, hearing, touch and taste are all things that are relevant to my Dragon Slayer muses. Gajeel in particular doesn’t like sweet things.
FANGS:
All of the Dragon Slayers have fangs and Gajeel can lengthen/shorten his at will, most the time he keeps them at an almost dangerous length but not so long that he could bite himself by accident. His fangs will also elongate more in Dragon Force or when he is particularly pissed off/feeling possessive. If he deems something as his, he’s going to bite it and he will make sure that it will be visible to other Slayers.
GROWLING:
Due to his normally angry nature, Gajeel will often just growl at things that are irritating him in any way, shape or form, he of course could use words to vocalise his dislike for something but he prefers to growl. This doesn’t mean that him growling will always be out of anger though, he will growl a lot when intimate with someone as a way of showing dominance/just letting out his voice and when he is relaxed he can produce a mixture of a growl and purr.
EYES:
Gajeel’s eyes are very sensitive to light, so much so that when too much information is passed into it he can get very confused of his surroundings. His irises are crimson and when his Dragon Force is active Gajeel’s sclera (the white of his eye) become black..
CLAWS:
Gajeel has very strong and very long claws, that like his fangs he can elongate at will, this will also happen in Dragon Force or when he is feeling a very strong emotion (normally anger), they are very sharp.
MARKING:
As mentioned in a previous post, Gajeel can willingly mark someone that he deems to be his true love/soul mate, this makes them immune to his poison. It is a one time thing and in addition to this, it is the only person he can have children with, he is essentially sterile until he marks someone, this is to prevent people form finding a way to just have sex with him all the time to raise a Dragon Slayer army.
HOARDING:
Dragons often hoard treasure, it is very much so like this with Dragon Slayers and their low impulse control around certain things they like, in Gajeel’s case… He hoards metal, yes he does eat a lot of but he will hoard the more beautiful pieces, the works of art, incessantly.
ELEMENT:
Gajeel has to consume his element as part of his diet in order to be able to function, he eats iron/metal.
POSSESSIVENESS:
If Gajeel deems you as his in some way or another, in a romantic or family type way, then he will do anything to keep you safe as well as be extremely over protective and sometimes annoying to the point of anger from how much of a close eye he will keep on you. Though he does try to keep this reigned in, he will act on impulse and instinct if he feels someone he cares for is threatened.
MARKING:
Due to the nature of Gajeel’s magic and the need to pass it down through generation Gajeel has the ability to physically mark the person that he would be considered his soul mate in order to make them immune to any effects his magic could have on them. For him it is a one time thing, he gets to choose one person that he can do this with so that the chances of an enemy getting their hands on them and finding a way to also become immune is slim to none.
However it does not mean that they must be together forever, it is possible to separate, nothing negative will happen if the choice is made to no longer see each other but the effects as a result of the marking could make it difficult to stay away from each other.
PROCESS:
In order to actually be marked the couple must be intimate at the time, sort of like a consummation of their love, when he is to bite into his partner’s neck hard enough to leave puncture marks and flow raw magic power into it along with his venom. It will cause his partner to become delirious and overwhelmed with pleasure, a positive indication that the process is working, and if continuing will cause Gajeel body to react similar to his Dragon Force. Scales will harden his skin as his eyes mimic that of a Dragon, a more primal nature taking over until both of them climax.
Afterwards the area bitten will heal and become covered in a light scale the same colour as his own ( black ) and is his way of showing those that his partner is under his protection. The mark itself will be a very sensitive area and will heal quickly, afterwards they will feel a certain pull towards one another, able to feel when the other is closer or in immediate danger. It does not go as far to have the ability to share every emotion, just the stronger ones.
Gajeel will become even more neurotic and overprotective when it comes to his partner, there is nothing he wouldn’t do to protect them and will go as far to die or kill someone he cares about to ensure their safety. Even if they eventually separate they will always be able to feel a pull to each other and the others emotions if they are strong enough, however the longer and more space that is between them will cause the effect to lessen.
This a purely optional act and who it occurs with will be of his own choosing. The mark itself, and any effects due to the mark, are permanent and will only lessen with separation, it is a union that is higher than marriage and cannot be undone.
Tonight I’ve managed to write two headcanons, one is 600+ words and the other is 700+ words and I’m still going... shoot me now :))
Like a DIAMOND, I need a little PRESSURE
*is sitting in the guild very innocently but slowly sucking and licking a popsicle 'cause its a hot day*
A low whistle sounded through his lips as he looked over at the blonde from his usually desolate table in the guild, he could quite easily see that she was rather innocent in her consumption of the popsicle but it was doing absolute nothing to stop the blood currently rushing from every area of his body to between his legs.
Which is why he was currently standing up as she did, his eyes glued to her as she smiled and started walking to the training area, still entirely oblivious to him following her, and the second they were out of sight he grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall.
His eyes running over her figure as he licked his lips and growled at her, baring his fangs a bit as he grinned just to annoy her, while he leaned forward to nuzzle into her neck and bite down before pulling back and grinning more.
“– Next time ya plan on suckin’ on something, it better be me ~”
