It’s been a while!

Sorry, for the radio silence, all! I thought summer would free up some time for me but I guess it didn’t. School is ramping up again at the end of this month so I’m looking at putting up some alpacassos and other things to help pay for tuition. I’ll probably take some pics this weekend so look forward to some babies looking for new homes!

I’m so sad

I am really sad right now. My fish died.

I decided to use Seachem Safe today for the first time after I ran out of Prime. WIthin a couple of hours, when I went back to check on my fish, they were both floating, no gill movement; died.

I have not added anything to my tank recently so I can only assume the culprit was Seachem Safe. I even made sure my measurements were correct; I used 1/24tsp for my 55gallon freshwater tank.

I’m… just really really sad right now.

Oh no!!! I’m so sorry to hear about your fish :( if nothing else changed I would say it was Seachem as well. I know that Petsmart and Petco used to do water tests for free, not sure if they still do but it’s worth a shot. *hugs*

Now I remember why I kept putting off another collection photo.

It seems while I was away at Fanime, the Alpacasso tag has been strained due to some recent events. Although a handful of friends have caught me up to speed, I think it’s bad taste to rehash something that’s better off dying down.

Instead, I want to focus on the positives of my interactions during Fanime.

I met @tevinaalpacasso​ for the first time! She kindly adopted an Alpacasso baby from me and we had lots of fun just talking about Alpacasso and how awesome it was to meet up with other collectors. We took her newly adopted plush out of the bag and gushed about how adorable he was and I can’t wait for her to post pictures of him to share with the rest of the community!

On Sunday, the artist alley had died down enough during the afternoon for me to visit @rinicake​. Although this wasn’t the first time I met her, she is, as always, very nice! She even gave me a pin with a wooly that she drew! We also talked about Alpacasso and our collection :D

@meepit​ wanted a large Beige Hoodie so I went back to the booth to get it for her only to find it gone already ;-; About 30 minutes or so later, I was coming back from my hotel room from dropping of my load of pick ups and what did I see? @tevinaalpacasso​ holding a beige hoodie! LOL OF COURSE! I rushed at her and I was like OMG Tevina! I should have known you were the one who bought him! LOL @meepit​ told me to pick him up for her but he was gone by the time I went back! What were the chances that you were the one who got him? XD

After I posted photos of what was left at the Alpacasso booth, @layla02​ PMed me to pick up some Gudetama figures for her. I rushed back (since they only had 1 of each left) and noticed & heard this couple debating if they should get the Gudetama ghost figure. I reach over, SNATCHED the ghost Gudetama and the other two @layla02​ wanted and paid! You snooze, you lose >D

@amusingarpakasso​ collected Puchimaru and since the booth had older Puchimaru series she had me pick some up for her. Unfortunate, they only had 3 of the kitties left when I went back but I got them anyways. She talked about how she just needed the other two, Ginger and Black and hopefully she can get them. The next day, I went back to the same booth (of course) and lo and behold! Lillian (booth owner) JUST restocked the Puchimaru and there were only one black one left and a couple of gingers. I quickly grabbed them and paid! Whew~ The feeling of being able to get these for @amusingarpakasso​… I just can’t describe! I was just SO happy for her! I was ecstatic because she was! I couldn’t stop smiling :D

@dachsii​ randomly noticed that the booth had a Sweet Delight poster and wanted me to ask if they sold it or was using it as decoration thus not for sale. I went and ask and Shin (assistant) said it was for decoration. The next day I went back and OMG Lillian surprised me with SIX posters! :OOO She is so awesome! Because of this, I went ahead and asked her and Shin’s name and we spent a good amount of time just chatting and getting to know each other! They were curious as to why I was buying so many plushies from them because I literally kept going back to their booth like maybe 10 times a day LOL to the point that they completely recognize me and whenever I would get lost, my friends would be at this booth to ask if they have seen me. Every time I bought something I would say “See you soon! B/c I will probably buy something else soon” and they waved at me and said “Yup see ya! We know you’ll come back ;D As you keep doing so!” and when I DO return I would joke “OMG It’s been so long! I haven’t seen you guys in ages!” and they would laugh and just be like “I know right?! It’s been like 30 minutes! We thought you’ll be by sooner!”

These were just some of the conversations that I went through last weekend. I am so grateful for the 37 people who PMed me about pick ups. Whether I have talked with you before or not, it was something that brought us together. It was because I am part of the Alpacasso community that I got to talk to so many of you, that I got to know you guys more as I talked to some of you guys after my pick ups, that I got to talk with Lillian and Shin, that I got to meet Alpacasso collectors @tevinaalpacasso​ and @rinicake​ in person, that I got elated messages about getting people’s dreamies. Even though it was tiring and a little stressful going through thousands of people and carrying bags and bags of plushies, I wouldn’t have traded it for anything.

Now the only thing that can make me happier is after I calculate everything and get everyone’s pick ups all packed and shipped; I cannot wait for you guys to get your plushies! I would LOVE to see pictures or just posts of you guys receiving them. I know it will only add to my bundle of happy feelings. If I could, I would shrink myself and ship myself with your plushies just to see your reactions but alas, I can’t so I will have to settle XD haha!

It was wonderful meeting you too, Jelly! I also had a great time chatting with you and also playing Overwatch last night, haha. And omg, that beige hooded kid. I ALMOST walked right past him because I was looking at all the 8/12cms that were on the table. Luckily, my friend is slower to look at stuff and when I looked back I did a double take and saw the beige hooded kid. I had been wanting to get a large hooded kid for a while but kept holding out on it. Sorry meepit! :X  Oh and I absolutely just adore the Beige Beri Beri- thank you so much for letting me adopt him/her! I will definitely be taking pictures and posting them soon :D <3

Overwatch Beta ended and I’m quite sad. I still haven’t pre-ordered and I am on the fence about getting this game in general.

The biggest reason is probably a reason that doesn’t concern most gamers and it’s the fact that it will not be playable on Macs as I do use an iMac. Although I have been using BootCamp for the beta, I don’t enjoy closing all my programs and switching from OSX to Windows. It’s just tedious in general on top of the fact that the graphics isn’t as crisp, sharp and amazing as it is on a native Windows.

However the game is fun and I have friends who have already pre-ordered. I’ve spent a good amount of time playing almost all of the characters and I quite enjoy Lúcio and Mercy the most since I usually play support in any game. Other mentions is Widowmaker, Mei and Tracer. They are fun however since I’m terrible at aiming I am not the best but nevertheless it’s still enjoyable to play.

This game is a TF2 killer to me due to the fun unique characters/classes. Each game is short and sweet which is a good thing in my book. I can still remember in TF2 where a game lasts forever especially if you’re an engie that just hit your turret in the corner. I and many of my friends were quite smitten with TF2 when it wasn’t F2P and I still enjoyed it afterwards. However I feel like now it’s just gotten ridiculous and not as enjoyable anymore thus I haven’t played in years and when I do play a game or two in the rare off chance, it just makes me nostalgic.

The only complaint I have with Overwatch is the matchmaking. There are times when we are missing a player in the entire game and other times it took over 3 minutes for my friends and I to find a game. I’m also not sure if it’s because the Beta was free but sometimes the match up in the pub is quite… lacking; where I’m a level 40 and we get matched with a couple of level 10s. I don’t mind at all. It’s just a little frustrating when they don’t know what they’re doing or worst they blame everyone else on the team when they didn’t do anything.

I remember a time a teammate was swearing at us and saying how we suck on attack hanamura since we couldn’t get the first point but he was Torbjörn… every time he put down a turret it would get destroyed but he never changed classes to help take out Bastion or whatever. There are other times where a player was a Symmetra main even during attack. I have no problem if they actually contributed… And don’t get me started when we have two widowmakers or god forbid, three of them in a team =___=|||

Anyways, I hope they will hash out Bastion a bit more since I believe he is still a little overpowered even with the changes they have made as well as the matchmaking. I also hope this game doesn’t turn into F2P thus turning into TF2. Although I am sure a lot of people complain about the price tag, I think quality trumps over something being free then dumping a bunch of random things to get players to pay when all these “additionals” don’t actually add to the game itself.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Overwatch! First off- holy crap- lvl 40? I barely got to level 10. In my experience, I’ve never had to wait more than 2 minutes to find a game but thought it was still lightning quick (but then again, I come from the days of waiting 20-30 minutes for a battleground queue to pop in WoW prior to x-realm days and granted these are completely different games and scenarios, I still personally thought the match making time was quick). I liked the bit of down time in between matches to have the chance to socialize and chat with my group. My top 3 characters were Reaper, Reinhardt and Mercy. I didn’t fancy playing Mercy much but there always seemed to be a lack of heals and tanks. Everyone wants to pew pew pew. I’m also quite bad at aiming so I wasn’t an outstanding Reaper, but as Reinhardt I did quite well. I also agree that Bastion is a bit OP but Blizzard is fairly good at re-balancing things (again and again) when the scales are tipped too much.

I thoroughly enjoyed Overwatch, especially when playing with friends and I’ve previously never been a fan of FPS games. I especially liked the fact that you can really dictate how much time you want to spend on the game in one sitting (whether its 15 minutes versus 4 hours) which is crucially important to me with my busy work and school schedule. I have not pre-ordered the game yet but have a feeling that I will get it after it releases.

@tevinaalpacasso Omg I literally JUST saw your reply. I’m so sorry for this delayed response.

I sometimes play Reinhardt as well when we need a tank however I am a very timid Reinhardt LOL meaning I am no good at rushing at people and killing them or waving my weapon around in hopes to kill the enemy. I literally just right click and inch forward with my team since I’m a scaredy cat haha!

Tank-wise I believe he is the most… efficient as a tank however I DO get annoyed when we obviously need to push as a TEAM against Bastion or turrets but when I look behind me my team is gone and they are flanking; not really sure WHY? and thus we lose =___\ I have a mic but I’m shy so I don’t speak on it often especially because I’ve had bad experience with… guys in games although it’s once in a blue moon so I usually only mic if other people are or my friends are in the game with me.

Mmmm I think my friends and I get more than 2 minutes since we are in a team together already. Sometimes it’s just the 2 of us and other times it’s 4 of us. I think the pre-team thing makes the match making go slower since it’s probably easier to match one person than a group of 2, 3, 4…etc. But yes I still remember when I played Archeage and when it first came out the wait was 4 hours to get into the game x__x thank goodness it’s not like THAT!

Bastion gives me mixed feelings. They have re-made him a lot of times already… Initially he provides shields. I think he is a little OP but I still think it’s do-able. If the team is coordinated well then it’s not that hard to take him out. It becomes frustrating when no one does ANYTHING and just complain about him being OP. Someone might be like ‘please switch to take out Bastion’ but usually no one does. I personally can’t since I can’t play DPS classes AND i’m usually the only support. That’s why I prefer to play with a friend since he’s good at taking out Bastion and turrets and stuff like that. I think it all boils down to people not knowing the classes well enough or expect others to do the work while they pew pew.

I also agree with you on the support thing. I think the lack of support is because a LOT of people want play of the game and when you are a support you usually don’t get that. It’s sad but since I enjoy playing support and 90% of the time I play support it’s not a big deal for me. It’s more of when the 10% I randomly want to play a sniper or offense or something and we have no support that I get sad and switch. Again, that’s why I like to play with my friends cause they don’t mind playing support if I don’t for a game or two.

Also haha yea the leveling goes by pretty fast. My friends and I were all about 20-40. I think I had the highest or 2nd highest level in the group? But I don’t play as much because I only played the Open Beta and Friends Beta. My friends played Closed Beta and Open/Friends Beta as well.

YES I 100% agree. I have a handful of friends who don’t like or want to play Overwatch BECAUSE they DISLIKE the whole “die and spawn” type of games. I guess they like MMORPGS or other shooter types of games idk which I thought was funny because when I played Blade and Soul, which was an MMORPG, he dropped out of the game =__=||| SO whatever. I enjoy it because sometimes in MMORPG I feel like I HAVE to play ALL THE TIME to catch up with the content and my friends. My friends are CRAZY gamers. If the level cap is 50 they can spend 2-3 days to get to level 50 while I’m still at level 20 on my 3rd day. But it’s mostly due to I dislike playing MMORPGS by myself and I DETEST grinding. It’s just boring to me without a friend. So I HAVE TO play with my friends which is all the time x.x it gets tiring and burnt out and thus I don’t play B&S anymore.

I haven’t pre-ordered but now that I’ve gone a week without Overwatch I am SO SAD! I feel like my hands are just ITCHING to play again XD;; So I think at some point I will get it *__*

Hey, no problem! Sorry, it took me a while to get back to you too. MMOs are great but I feel like the experience can be hit or miss depending on who is on/what time of day you’re playing/how long you have and with a busy schedule sometimes it just doesn’t cut it after you’ve spent 2 hrs of your free time sitting around, waiting for your friends to log on.

And I totally know the feeling about leveling! I’ve done the whole level/gear grind and spent countless hours on raiding and pvp only to have the items go obsolete months later, it’s just not worth it to me to power through everything as fast as possible because it’s a game. It’s supposed to be enjoyable, right? :) I like that Overwatch is not a test of how many hours you spend on grinding for gear- it’s truly a test of skill/teamwork/collaboration. Gosh, I wish I had more time to play as Reaper so I could get better at him. But you’re right- I always found myself switching out at the last minute to heals or tank because no one else wants to play those classes. I’d rather up the team’s chances of winning.  And yes I’m glad too that we can talk about this! Do you play any other Blizzard games? I think I am going to get Overwatch after all but will wait until classes are done this month until I do. Message me your b.net at some point so I can add you! :)

Although I am sure a lot of people complain about the price tag, I think quality trumps over something being free then dumping a bunch of random things to get players to pay when all these “additionals” don’t actually add to the game itself.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Overwatch! First off- holy crap- lvl 40? I barely got to level 10. In my experience, I’ve never had to wait more than 2 minutes to find a game but thought it was still lightning quick (but then again, I come from the days of waiting 20-30 minutes for a battleground queue to pop in WoW prior to x-realm days and granted these are completely different games and scenarios, I still personally thought the match making time was quick). I liked the bit of down time in between matches to have the chance to socialize and chat with my group. My top 3 characters were Reaper, Reinhardt and Mercy. I didn’t fancy playing Mercy much but there always seemed to be a lack of heals and tanks. Everyone wants to pew pew pew. I’m also quite bad at aiming so I wasn’t an outstanding Reaper, but as Reinhardt I did quite well. I also agree that Bastion is a bit OP but Blizzard is fairly good at re-balancing things (again and again) when the scales are tipped too much.

I thoroughly enjoyed Overwatch, especially when playing with friends and I’ve previously never been a fan of FPS games. I especially liked the fact that you can really dictate how much time you want to spend on the game in one sitting (whether its 15 minutes versus 4 hours) which is crucially important to me with my busy work and school schedule. I have not pre-ordered the game yet but have a feeling that I will get it after it releases.

30 Day Challenge: Alpacasso Edition

Big thanks to @jellysfancy @allthingsplush for helping out :D

After being inspired by @little-trash-baby and @jellysfancy, I decided to create a 30 day challenge using Alpacassos! It’s quite simple.

1) You do 1 challenge per day.

2) If you miss a day, that’s fine! Just post them with the next challenge, e.g. if I missed Days 17 and 18, I can include them in the Day 19 post along with Day 19.

3) You may not reuse photos! E.g. For Days 19 and 20, if you made your Paca game on Day 19, you should make the photo and pose different for Day 20.

4) You can use one or more Alpacasso for certain challenges, e.g. Day 8.

5) Try to take the photos as you do the challenge.

6) Tag people to spread this around so they can do the challenge!

Note: I realise some of you are very careful of your Alpacassos, and won’t want to damage them, so you can choose to exclude those Pacas from the photos. See Day 5 for an example.

Ready?

Day 1: Photo of your first alpacasso. If do not have a photo of it, or if you no longer have the Paca to take the photo, then a photo of your oldest Alpacasso (earliest purchase, not oldest series).

Day 2: Photo of your favourite Alpacasso that you own. Select ONE only >:D

Day 3: Your best attempt at drawing Alpacasso(s). Traditional tools such as pens, pencils, coloured pencils, markers ONLY.

Day 4: Take a photo of your Alpacasso display!

Day 5: Leaning Tower of Pacas! Stack your Alpacassos as high as you can! You can make it Tetris style too. Use any Alpacasso you want, and can exclude some as well.

Day 6: Photo of your most recent Alpacasso(s) purchase/haul.

Day 7: Colour code your Alpacassos and try to align them into a rainbow!

Day 8: Adventure time! Take or post a photo of your Alpacasso outdoors/in a cafe (OR) your Alpacasso in a fort!

Day 9: A picture of alpacasso with another plushie, toy, or figurine.

Day 10: Photo of your derpiest looking Alpacasso!

Day 11: Photo of your Alpacasso with the cutest face!

Day 12: Photo of your two Alpacasso you think make a cute couple.

Day 13: Organise your Alpacassos by size and post a photo!

Day 14: Take a selfie with your Alpacasso! (OR) Balance an Alpacasso on your head and take a photo; you may exclude your face as long as part of your head is visible :D

Day 15: Dress up! A photo of your Alpacasso with your clothes or accessories. Alpacasso must have at least 2 items on.

Day 16: Make a heart with Alpacassos! <3

Day 17: Take a picture of your Alpacasso showing off one of your meals!

Day 18: Throwback! Post an old photo of your Alpacasso with you, or without you!

Day 19: Photo of your Alpacasso doing something you do.

Day 20: Gamer Paca! Photo of your Alpacasso with your console or laptop. Make it look like they’re a 360noscope MLG tryharding gamer that they are!

Day 21: Create a photo storyboard/comic with your Alpacasso(s)! Be as creative as you want. Needs to be done using photos and you may use as many as you need!

Day 22: Post a gif of your Alpacasso(s)!

Day 23: A digital drawing of your Alpacasso! You can even use MS Paint :P

Day 24: A picture of an Alpacasso you’re currently looking for!

Day 25: Close your eyes and try to draw your Alpacasso. Use any instrument/platform you like (e.g. pen on paper, digital).

Day 26: More artsy stuff! Draw an Alpacasso series you would like to see!

Day 27: Post a Meme about Alpacassos! If you want, post more than one. I recommend https://memegenerator.net

Day 28: Pick ONE Alpacasso. Now take a photo of the Alpacasso with the same colour item(s). E.g. Pink Alpacasso with pink bag. If you want, you may use more than 1 item (but only ONE Alpacasso).

Day 29: Post a picture of your completed/most complete set! (OR) Post a picture of a set/series you would like to complete.

Day 30: Freestyle! Post a photo, however or whatever it is! Needs to contain at least 1 Alpacasso.

Day 1: Alpacasso Photo Challenge. I'm definitely going to be doing this sporadically, but here are my first two alpacas, they arrived together so I don't know who is considered first!
