tevinterson.
Being the only son had never spoilt Felix as it has had other boys who have grown up being their parents one and only pride and joy and bearer of all their hopes and dreams. He LOVES his parents fiercely and without reserve and he wants nothing more than to make them proud. An opportunity to study in Orlais had been a chance to spread wings his own society had been insistent on clipping from the moment it was discovered that he possessed only a feeble connection to the Fade. Though he would scarcely admit it, he had been immensely homesick and now that he was back he realized how much he had missed Tevinter. Yet, only when he saw his mother’s face did he actually feel that he was finally home and he carelessly dropped his belongings to rush up to greet her. “ I have, Mother, ” he said as he wrapped his arms around her, giving a gentle squeeze before releasing her, “ I apologize for the delay. There was trouble on the roads and we had to take a different path. No, don’t give me that look, it’s nothing to be concerned about. ”
She gives him the LOOK anyways, something akin to stern concern, worry bubbling up inside of her chest. She is well aware of the fact that she is OVER PROTECTIVE, but he is her only son, her only child, the only child she will ever have. He is her WORLD, he and his father, and the idea of losing him is akin to the idea of losing a part of herself. Her heart. Her mind. Her limbs. She cannot lose him. Cannot lose THEM. She would sooner raze down Tevinter itself. Nay, Thedas. ❝ It is plenty to be concerned about, my son, ❞ she takes his hands, looking over him with a critical eye. ❝ You are not HURT, are you? ❞ She knows that he is perfectly capable of taking care of himself, minimal magic or no, but she cannot help but worry. ❝ You do not have to tell me what happened if you do not wish to —— I merely want to know that you are OKAY. ❞
