REBLOG IF
- you are a studyblr
- you are super friendly
- you love when people message you
- you want to support everyone in the community
one thing i love about this community is that it is one big family and everyone is ready to support eachother. reblog this and follow the people that also reblog and start some super cute supportive friendships because you all deserve the best
Calling all studyblrs!
Hey y’all! I know it’s been an extremely hot minute since I’ve last posted anything, but now that everything has settled down for me, I’m ready to return to the community once and for all. I’m planning to make a post soon, but bcs of my absence, I’m following a lot of inactive people so I’ve decided to go on a following spree these next few days so if you’re an active studyblr of any kind (langblr, medblr, lawblr, etc) or an art, history, or minimalist account, please like/reblog this so I can check out your blog and follow you! It would definitely mean a lot; I hope you guys are doing well today! ♡
types of study breaks for every situation
if you realize you’ve been studying for hours: grab a snack to refuel your body and watch a sitcom to refuel your brain. then back to the books.
if you’re feeling stressed out: take some deep breaths, text your friends, maybe stare at a wall for a few minutes. gather yourself.
if you can’t seem to focus: get moving and get outside. take out the garbage, check your mail box, maybe walk your dog. just get moving and get fresh air. it’ll help bring you back.
if there’s something else going on in your life and you can’t get it off your mind: write down what’s going through your head, sort of like a diary entry. it’ll help you work things out.
if you’re just mentally and physically exhausted: set a timer for 25-30 minutes and take a nap. any longer and you’ll hit REM and you’ll wake up feeling just as tired. once you wake up, get some caffeine in you.
if the material is boring as hell: find another way to study. see if there’s a crash course video online about it or draw out what you’re trying to learn in diagrams and pictures to make it fun.
if people around you won’t shut up: listen to some music. soundtrack and classical music is always good because they won’t absorb you as much as music with lyrics. white noise (like ocean waves, rain sounds, etc.) also works.
if you only half understand a concept: call/message a friend who’s not in the class and try to teach the material to them. this will help you mentally work through the material and will help you remember it as well.

How to stay focused a little better during quarantine
So with the whole COVID-19 situation and many of us stuck at home for the rest of the school year and at the moment the foreseeable future. So here are some things that are helping me stay a little more focused and motivated during all of this.
1) I make daily to-do lists with all the class work that I have for the day and also the house work that I want to get done. That way I don’t get distracted as much.
2) Make a schedule that you can follow. Don’t set unreasonable times for you to do tasks in you have, literally, all day to do these tasks. This will also help you with keeping on task if you have a daily schedule to follow.
3) Don’t force yourself to do a task. Say you have a homework assignment that needs to be done within a set time work on it slowly throughout the day so that it still gets done but if you need to take a brake from the homework if you need to.
4) Set goals. They can be weekly or daily goals that you set but if you have something to work towards it will give you something to do during all of this. And it can be something like finishing a game or puzzle, or working on a specific assignment.
5) Have rewards for yourself. Set a goal and at the end have a reward of maybe a snack that you love or an episode of the show you’re watching. This way you will be more motivated to actually do your work if you have a reward after.
And remember if ya’ll have any requests that you want me to do or any content you want me to post just message me!
I’m also available on my patreon!
20/04/20; 54/100 days of productivity:
The best thing about studying in my room during sun time is that it gets illuminated with these beautiful rainbows for a few hours each day. I did a lecture on malnutrition in older people, and then I did a workout for an hour. I’m not really an exercise person but I thought I should start because staying at home and sitting down all day is not good for anyone’s health. I started properly two weeks ago and I’m actually loving it! I’m starting to see changes in my body and my mood; let’s hope I can keep this up so that by the end of quarantine I’ll be a changed person (a girl can only dream). And then I did two more lectures to do with dentition and the microbiome in older people.
