Something's wrong with Medic's comm again!

Hello, people old & new! This is Mod BG, better known as UpInFlamesWriting. This is my Red Oktoberfest ask blog based on my fanfic series Texting Troubles.

What are the mercs' sexualities & genders? The answer is here

How tall are all the mercs? I answered this here

What does the administrator think about Medic & Heavy's kids? She doesn't think anything, she is dead. Miss Pauling & Saxton Hale now run Mann Co.

How do the battles work with the kids around? Instead of 9v9, the battles are now 6v6, with the mercs rotating regularly. Lunch breaks are also longer & most missions tend to be shorter.

Mod, how many asks do you get? Long answer is here. Short answer is: about 30 asks within a 24 hour period.

Why are you so hot & smart & charming, Mod B? I dunno, I was just born this way 😎

Now, for the basics: this is mainly a Red Oktoberfest ask blog, but you can ask any of the RED mercs, as well as Miss P, the BLU mercs, & if you want to ask any other TF2 characters then it will be on a case by case basis. Just remember that this all takes place in the same universe, post-comics, & I won't be answering asks that don't fit into the lore of Texting Troubles.

I won't answer hypotheticals, I won't answer self-shipping asks (asking for a hug from the mercs or a kiss on the cheek is fine, tho). What ships show up there, are all the ships I will answer for.

Other house keeping: I, Mod B, am a full grown adult. I will accept suggestive asks, but anything fully NSFT (Not Safe For Tumblr) I will only answer from blogs that are off anon & who have their age/age-range in their bio. The NSFT asks will always be tagged & flagged as such, but I do encourage y'all not to turn this blog into a smut fest.

I am... So tired, you guys. So, so tired. And so done with making compromise after compromise for my mother. I'm starting HRT in January, but I'm disabled & unemployed, & if you know anything about the UK right now, you will know that the DWP can't be trusted to give me the right amount of benefits for my condition. I've been getting worse, & my mental health has been getting worse too.

I'm not deleting this account, but I do have to come clean a bit. I stopped answering asks, what, two or so months ago? This blog had devolved into an RP between me & two other people, & although I really enjoyed it, it wasn't what I wanted for this blog. And now, with the end of the comic (& Medic's name reveal), I just... I don't want to go back to this blog.

I don't want to leave TF2 behind. It got me through a bad patch in life earlier this year & I hate leaving Special Interests behind. But I'm not doing well, I'm not excited about the series anymore.

I'm going to... Step away from TF2 in a way. I have a lot of fanart saved up that I'm going to be reblogging on @shephardofthedamned just to clear up my drafts. & I will carry on roleplaying on my 18+ blog @number-one-fan-of-doktor & the non-18+ plus one @dr-d-of-team-blu (they're in the same universe) but I won't be actively engaging in the fandom otherwise. I will finish all of the fanfics I'm currently writing, the ones I started & the ones that are still drafts, & then we'll... We'll see. Maybe once I write myself out I'll leave forever. Maybe I'll be back in a few years once TF2 is taken offline. Maybe I'll have gotten over my slump & will be back full force.

I don't know. I know I won't be coming back to this blog. I know that the Texting Troubles series is over, but I do want to finish writing the fantasy isekai AU. I'll continue RPing on my two other blogs because I am part of a shared world there, & I'll continue my fanfics because those are MY worlds. But I don't... Want to engage in anyone else's world right now, I want to be in my own world.

I'm sorry to all the people who liked this blog, who stayed or were expecting a continuation. But I just don't want to do this anymore. Sorry.

"Tala, grab a first aid kit for me. And a thread & needle kit from the infirmary, bitte."

Huh?! No! Not like that! I made a joke to the doc and then the big guy tackled me! I got confused and thought we were going in for a group hug, then got my head punched off! I may be a demon but I'm no monster!

Oh, well- guess that makes a little more sense. Really shouldn't have drank so much.

Yeah, yeah... Hindsight is 20/20. Tav's been a buddy through it all, I appreciate it.

*Tala had started investigating Joel's wound on his body, before re-engaging into the conversation*

It's macaroni soup, obviously, it's supposed to be hot!

....well actually, it's called 'sopas' but everyone I've made it for calls it 'macaroni soup', so that's what I'll call it too. Even though I only ever use penne or shell pasta for this.

*They turn the stove off and grab the pot by its handles, bringing it to the kitchen table.*

It's kinda what I do with most of the dishes I make, make the names uuuh...'easier' to remember, in a way.

*Tala walks to stand between where Tavish sat with Joel('s head) and where Mikhail sat cooing at Maria. She looks between everyone, and the headless body, to try and analyse the scene*

*Tala leads Ludwig into the kitchen, where there's apple sauce and plain cereal strewn about. The twins are in their high top chairs, in different levels of cleanliness*

Although seriously, why's Joel's head in a different place to his body? And hows he able to speak?

Mikhail gasps, taking Maria, "Baby..."

"This is why he doesn't drink very often."

*Katze's ladles a bit of soup from the pot and holds it up to Beetle, bringing it close to their mouth.*

Tell me if the taste is too much or too little before I set this on the table! I swear one of you guys complained about it last time I made this-

"What is it by the way?" Beetle asks, but slurps it up before Katze has the chance to respond, "It's good, though. Bit hot, eh?"

*The deep purring and wagging tail stop at Mikhail's shout. It's as much of a startled jump as Joel can manage at this point*

*A voice clears from the kitchen doorway*

Ummm... I didn't want to step back in because I didn't want to make anything more complicated, but one; what the hell is going on?

Oh- I can clear that up, so see-

-And two, the kids are getting too fussy and can't decide if they want to eat or just start a food fight with each other. I think they want their papa or vati.

"Well, no matter how much I would want this to be the case, if they're hungry their papa is useless for them." Ludwig sighs. He hears a loud sniffle from Misha's direction, who is still holding onto him tightly & is evidently still very drunk.

"Doktor does not mean that." Mikhail pouts.

"Aw, Misha. You're adorable while you are drunk, but you are also very dumb. I did mean that, but not in the way you thought," Ludwig shakes his head, turning to Tala, "Well? Where are meine Kinder?"

*Muffled through the scot's arm*

Ahhdasnice...

*a very quiet and low grumble could be heard from Joel, or- well, his body actually. It wasn't a goopy or bodily grumble, it was a consistent and warm vibration of noise. The very end of his opossum tail gently swished back and forth*

*still muffled:*

I gotta get more huggy friends, this is so nice.

Mikhail stares at the body with large, terrified eyes, "This is weird shit. Weirder shit than what Ludwig does."

"You're a weird drunk, lad," Tavish says, "Usually drunk people are less... Philosophical & aware of their surroundings."

Misha lets out a small sob, then buries his face in Ludwig's shoulder, "I am too aware! I hate being drunk! If head is separate from body, how does body still function?? Where is soul stored if head is talking, but body cannot move? In head or body??"

Ludwig clears his throat, "Well, I could answer that for you."

"NYET!"
