So I got some doodle requests and this is what I got: ‘TGB’ (awesome fanfic from @lastingvacancy ) ‘The lizard’ from @bitches-and-crackers And ‘the universe’? from @sometipsygnostalgic (I’m not even sure she requested that)

So this is what came out of it. In the latest chapter it was said Terezi talked to Jade about Lizards nonstop. So here she is continuing with going into her theory that the universe is just a lizard. ( little does she know that her theory is wrong. It’s a frog)

The afternoon was grey and tired, like an old, abandoned dog on a street corner. Jade found her girlfriend half-sprawled over their dinner table, a cold mug of coffee in her hands. Her hair looked dull and brown and her glasses were nowhere to be seen.

“Hey.” The girl on the table didn’t look up. She murmured something.

“What’s wrong?” Jade sat down opposite her. The still silence was broken by the creak of the chair.

The girl tilted her head up. “It’s all gone to shit.” Her mouth, while usually a grinning, teasing, chatty aperture was a grim slash of cynicism. “Dave, Karkat, everyone…”

“Not everyone’s dead. Or captured.” Jade took a shaky breath. “There’s still something worth fighting for. You know it, I know it-“

“Shut up.” Terezi’s voice surprised her. “Just. Shut up. I’ll probably feel better later on but right now I’d just like to wallow in my misery. So. Yeah.”

Jade sat back and nodded shakily. “Ok. Sorry.”

Terezi sighed. “You’re just trying to make me feel better, I should be saying sorry.”

Jade laughed bitterly. “Miscommunication got us all into this mess – why wouldn’t it get us out again?”

Terezi returned the bitter laugh. “Have I ever said I fucking love you, Jade?”

“Maybe once or twice.”

The silence returned. Outside a car went by, and the sound of rubber on tarmac echoed across the city. It was a quiet day today. Wait – car?

Jade frowned. “Did you-“ she stopped herself “Of course you heard that.”

Terezi sat up, alert. A tense second passed. He head tilted downward slightly. “…SUV. Five passengers. Three armed, one bound.” She ‘looked’ across at Jade. “You think that’s them?”

Jade shot out of her seat like a bullet from a gun. “Must be.” She hunted the apartment for her shotgun, as Terezi searched for her cane. She found it on the couch, loaded it, and then tracked down her bandolier for spare cartridges. She looked up and saw Terezi holding out a black ski mask, a determined look on her previously complacent face. Jade took it as Terezi tied a teal bandanna across her face, leaving her mouth uncovered.

“Ready?” she asked. She didn’t smile anymore, but her mouth seemed ready to stretch into one right now.

Jade nodded. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

Terezi hesitated. “I meant it, by the way.”

“What?” Jade frowned

Terezi grabbed her by the waist and angled her head up. “I fucking love you.”

Jade barely had time to react. “I fucking love you too.”

They kissed. It was short, and slightly bitter, but it was enough. They parted, and Jade found herself looking back at that brash, toothy grin that she hadn’t seen for a long, long time.

“Now that that’s over with,” said the smaller woman, “Let’s get out there and make some trouble.”

This got REALLY out of hand. It started out with a comment to tipsy regarding the obscene amount of Davekat fics that use Karezi as a stepping stone, and now it’s getting out of control. Gonna start posting it to my own account, but this is the flash-forward prologue. Don’t want to spoil anything, so I’ll let you all gauge from this what the full thing might contain.

But if you think it’s shit, nevermind.
