Man, it’s been ages since I’ve been able to sit down and do a piece like this. I missed out on the chance to do a Halloween drawing, so I’m making up for it with a creepy Christmas piece.
The character is Mr. Creamy from entervoid.com

Refugee Land
In real life she’s the old woman who works at the cafeteria, scanning student IDs as they walk inside to get their food.
Here, she is inspecting my park ticket as I approach the gates.
“You’re clear to go, hon,” she says as she hands the ticket back to me.
I don’t recognize her yet, but her face looks familiar and I feel worried for her wellbeing.
“Are you going inside when you’re done working?” I ask her.
She shakes her head. “Couldn’t afford it."
A pang of guilt and embarrassment hits my stomach. I feel awful for having the money to enter the park. It kills me to know I’m going to survive and she isn’t.

(via That Insane ‘Mad Max’ Flame-Throwing Guitar Is No CGI Trick – Here’s How They Actually Made It - MTV)
We ended up with an 8-wheel drive, an ex-military rocket launching track to give us enough scale, and then turned the reverberators and built them out of old air conditioning duct steel. With that and a little stage and a huge PA system — and then George cast a fantastic singer performer, cabaret artist called iOTA in the role of Coma the Doof warrior. And the Doof machine basically was just that. It was a huge thing that went “Doof, doof, doof,” and gave us the beat of the battle. The first version of the guitar which — I think I put too much into the flame thrower, not enough into the reverb. And yes, the flame throwing guitar did have to operate, did have to play, the PA system did have to work and the drummers… Unfortunately, I did get practice in all positions and I’ve got to tell you, the drumming was very uncomfortable at 70 [kilometers] an hour, eating sand.
I am never making it up.
the mind boggles
I’m opening commissions for the first time ever???? what what
Krita is a fantastic and FREE digital painting application that I use for all of my digital work, and just a few days ago they opened a kickstarter to fund more features like performance improvements for huge canvases and ANIMATION TOOLS?? NICE
I’ve used this software for a couple years now and I wanna give back to the developer community so I’m gonna start doing sketch commissions!! 50% of all the money will go to the Krita kickstarter (the other 50% will go to buying a bluetooth adapter for my hearing aids!)
For $7 buyers will receive a 800px x 1000px sketch of their chosen subject, and for $10 I’ll color it! I’m trying to keep things small since I’ve never done this before, so only 1 character per sketch (feel free to order more than one though, or email me if you’re interested in a larger-scale piece!) If you want a preview sketch to make sure things are turning out ok, ask me in the email, otherwise I expect payment before I start working! I’m only taking paypal atm but I wanna try setting up a couple different payment methods too, if you need to use google wallet or something lemme know!
I WILL DRAW: original characters (rpg character portraits are really fun!), fanart for pretty much any fandom, robots, furries, ponies, fantrolls, gemsonas, real people (results not guaranteed)
I WILL NOT DRAW: nsfw (including but not limited to gore, porn, fetishes, etc.)
You may not sell these sketches or claim them as your own, otherwise feel free to use them as you please! I will email you the file and post the commission on tumblr, unless told otherwise.
EMAIL ME AT: [email protected] if you’re interested! Let’s help make Krita even better! :D
this is the blog I’ll be posting the finished commissions at, though I’ll reblog them to my personal blog too!
Hey guys! My friend Amelia is doing commissions. Her art is rad, her prices are rad, and she herself is rad. Throw some money her way!!
