Nikolai showed up to Starâs apartment, fidgeting with their hands and a little anxious. They really liked this friendship. It was probably the only real connection they had with someone since⌠they didnât remember. It didnât matter.
They knocked on the door, using the actual building for once instead of scaling up the fire escape, and waited for it to be opened.

Nikolai showed up to Starâs apartment, fidgeting with their hands and a little anxious. They really liked this friendship. It was probably the only real connection they had with someone since⌠they didnât remember. It didnât matter.
They knocked on the door, using the actual building for once instead of scaling up the fire escape, and waited for it to be opened.

it takes a minute before the door opens star is on the ceiling when the door is opened when they see its Nikolai they visibly relax and drop onto the floor landing on their feet a little bit of dust flying in the air
"Oh its you!- hi - sorry dor the wait no one ever comes to the door so I thought you might have been a cop or a realtor or somthing-"
star steps back a bit to get them in
âUh, yeah⌠last time I was on the fire escape I almost fell so this was probably a better option.â They said as they walked in, not really sure what a realtor was and only having a faint idea of what a cop was. ââŚcan we talk?â
"makes sense.. I forget not everyone can stick to walls.." star closes the door behind them and turns the main on
Star visibly tenses up when they asked if we could talk "uhhh... sure. . . . . about what?"
They sat down, very nervous. It was weird. They could kill people without a second thought, infiltrate high security places but talking was where they froze?

When star talks about hydra it seems forced or almost physically uncomfortable to talk about for them
"So.. do you want more friends? Probably right? I know some people around our age.. I mean not normal teens but yeah"

As star keeps rambling and repeating himself it becomes more and more obvious hes spiraling and not thinking fully
They donât know what to do, they donât know how to react to this theyâve never been in a situation like this. It hurts, it hurts a lot and they hate it. Never have they felt so weak before⌠so why now? When their life isnât even in danger.

They didnât fight it, just let themselves be pushed off, unfortunately Starâs strength vs Their body being genetically altered to be lighter so they can move faster is not a good mix and does send them crashing into the ground.

They stop speaking and just sob

"Uh.. sure of course ! I've never had someone stay over my house that'll be fun!"
Star lightens up alot very suddenly but squeezes them a little tighter
Nikolai wiped his face and smiled âyeah, itâll be a first for us too.â Theyâre going to be in so much trouble when they get back, but that wasnât important right now. They just wanted to enjoy today.
star loosens their grasp on Nikolai so they can look at their face more easily
"Oh cool!! Uhh we can have a bunch of fun! I mean I'm not sure what your hobbies are, but there's probably somthing fun we can do together"
They wipe their face and take off their sunglasses putting them on the floor
âWe just wanna do whatever you like, if thatâs okay? We never really did anything that wasnât a mission.â They adjusted to sit more comfortably beside him
"uhmmm well I like drawing and I have a snes .. like gaming console we can play on that, or watch tv.. uhm I really like just exploring around the city and breaking into places but I dont know if youd like that, or how easily you could even get on build tops .. plus im supposed to be uhh laying low right now I guess "
âCâmon, itâs our last night. Letâs have fun.â He urged, wanting to make the most of their time together. âOne night with no worries.â
star gets extremely excited and sits upright
"You wanna go run around and break into stuff with me!?"
He smiled and took their hand as he stood up âletâs go! Iâll follow you.â
"quick question can you fall from tall heights or is that gonna hurt???"
âItâll probably hurt, we donât resist damage well, why?â

Star basically drags them out the front door without answering why they needed to know if he could resist fall damage
They run down 3 buildings to they reach a moderately tall building around 4 or 5 story's "ok.. this is the only time were gonna have to do this .. but im not climbing-"
without giving them time to react spider star tightens their girp on NikolaiI and shoots a web on the top of the building and flings the both of them onto the roof shooting some more web under Nikolai so they dont get hurt from impact

Nikolai was really confused but he trusted his friend, letting Star drag them across roof tops, keeping up with him without too much effort.
âWhat? What do you meanââ theyâre cut off by star grabbing onto them and swinging them across the building, they roll onto the rooftop to save their fall on instinct but the webs breaking their fall helped a lot.
They laughed a little, startled by it for a second since it was just so foreign to them. âYeah they made us lighter so weâd be quicker. That was so cool though, so you do that a lot?â He asked, pushing himself back to his feet.
"that was the frist time I did it to a friend..? Ive done that before but not with other people , so uhh your ok right that didnt hurt did it?
They walk over to Nikolai to check on them
"sorry to do that without saying much I thoughtd itd be easyer"
âNope, Iâm all good!â âThat was really fun. Felt like flying.â
"alright! Yeah it is pretty fun " star laughs a little
"Soooo.. what do you wanna do? There's that building down their which they hold like special stuff in like galas that we can break into.. or we can just explore.. theres a park near here but if we wanted to go their i probably didn't need to throw you up here... we can just explore..."
âI wanna look around, I never really had the time to actually explore the city. Donât they sell food on carts or something??â
"Uhh kinda yeah like food trucks, theres this one really good taco truck that always parks outside the mall if you wanna get some .? "
âI have no idea what either of those things are but Iâll try itâ he said, peering over the top of the building and looking up at the sky, it was dusk, the sun was still up but dropping by the hour. He was in full black, careful to cover up any Hydra logos so he wouldnât be found out just yet. âYouâre my guide to the world, Star, lead the way.â

They lead Nikolai to a few buildings over than find a building that someone who couldn't stick to walls could reasonably climb down
"So just down this block and the down the next street theres the mall and food also."
Nikolai smiled and followed after him, climbing down while Star easily stuck to the walls âhey! Thatâs basically cheating.â

Star gets to the floor and waits for Nikolai
"hey if you want after we get food we can go in the mall its right there but I dont know if youd like it to much- its basically just a bunch of stores combined"
âSame thing!â They said, jumping down from the last couple steps. âYeah, that sounds good, thereâs a lot of stuff in them?â
"yeah like different stores and stuff common " star starts walking down the block to the mall area
They follow after him, sight seeing on the way there since this is the first time theyâve wandered around without a mission. It was nothing impressive but it was loud, unorganized and chaotic. Everything Hydraâs not.
"is there any stores youd wanna specifically wanna go to? Actually before we to into the mall its should change into normal people clothes... so if you dont mind stopping Ata gas station so I can change in the bathroom "
Star keeps walking

"Ok im gonna go in here and change into normal clothes you can just look around"
They go into the gas station and star goes to the bathroom to change
They nod and wander off to do just that, looking around at a bunch of packaged items heâs never seen. It smells weird. Not sterile like the labs. They made sure to keep their tee inside out so the Hydra logo was hidden.
star comes out with sun glasses a zip up hoodie a striped t shirt under it and jorts "you may wanna wear a different t shirt it's kinda weird looking inside out, they sell t shirts here if you want one.. not like im an expertat lookingnormal or anything"
âYeah, but if I fold it outright it has the Hydra logo and our ID number.â He said âthereâs not really much of a point getting a shirt Iâm never gonna be able to wear again tooâ they pointed out
"fair... if you want you could barrow one of mine.. dosent matter though if your ok with the inside out shirt it's fine"
âWe donât mind it, itâs probably one of the most comfortable things we ownâ they said, following star down the street towards a massive building that he assumed was the mall
"Ah alright makes sense.. do you ever get bothered by people staring at your scars or do you not go out enough to experience that?" Star says as they get to the mall and getting the door for Nikolai

"uhmm they sell stuff for computers and gaming stuff.. video games.. like cool clothes and decorations.. stuff like that"

"Its like.. a story but you can control what happens t some extent.. like a book or show but you can interact with it"

âHey wait up!â They run in after him, pausing to look around at everything on display which was a lot, a lot of stuff heâd never seen before. âThereâs a lot of stuffâŚeverywhere. This is normal?â
"uhhh.. .. yeah its normal its like alotts stuff in a smaller room "
Star is looking at the display off somthing or almost pretending to and just zoning out looking in its direction
âItâs like a storage room. But brighter. With more colorful stuff.â He said, walking up to Star and just hovering around him, staying close but not touching.
"Yeah?"
Stars says not really facing Nikolai when they talk
âYeah.â

"Huh- what oh, your welcome! Wanna go look around a different store orr??? We could get food also "
Star turns around to face Nikolai
âAre you feeling okay? You changed for a bit, kinda like we doâ
"No I didn't- you know what its fine. Is there anything you wanna do???"
Star is trying to change the subject heavily
They frowned a little, feeling like Star was hiding something. âGetting food sounds fine, Iâve been curious as to what food was like on the outside.â
"Yeah! We should get tacos, I mean thats what I want but we can look around at ten food court kr even leave the mall if you want I just like tacos"
Star makes there way out of the store
âI donât really know what anythingâs like so weâll just get the same thing as you if thatâs okayâ he said, following behind Star
"Let's go get tacos!!" Star walks to the food court
They smile, still a little worried but they donât want to force anything so they try to convince themselves it really was nothing. âOkay!â
Its almost like star is also trying to convince himself it's nothing they go to the food court and get in line at a Mexican food booth. Its not a very long line.
Once they get up there to order star starts talking "uhmm can I get 2 tacos with beef and no sour cream? They turn to Nikolai to see what they want
Theyâre looking at the menu, having no idea what any of it is but eventually they point at a burrito that was advertised as âthe ultimate burritoâ which in his mind obviously means itâs the best thing to start on
âCan I have that ?â
"yeah sure!, uhh can I get the ultimate burrito? " after a few minutes they get there food and star finds them a clean looking table to sit at
They sit down next to Star, holding probably the largest portion of food they ever had. âItâs hot.â They mentioned as they peeled away some of the foil
star is staring forward completely zoned out not really even opening the takeout box their food came in
They glance up since itâs not often Star is quiet âStarâŚ?â
âAre you mad at us? Is that why youâre acting different?â
They look a little puzzled than suddenly jump like they've been brought back to life
"Im not mad at you!! Im not sure things have just been weird recently, its not you i swear!! Im having a good time honestly"
Star opens his food and starts eating "ah- its hot"

They take a bite, the food was still hot but after letting it cool for a while it wasnât scalding. It actually tasted really good, nothing like theyâve ever had before. âOh wow.â

"yeah its hot, ow- I could probably slow down" hes still eating extremely quickly

âCause you look like youâre gonna choke!â He said, still eating his own meal. He finished about half of his burrito before getting full. âWhat do I do with the rest?â
"Uhmm just use the rest of your tin foil to wrap it up and ee can put it in my frige if you want it later " star had finished both his tacos already "so now what ?"
âDo you want it instead? If youâre still hungry?â He offered, not wanting to carry it and also not seeing the point in keeping it for later if later wouldnât come. âHm⌠what about a movie? Or a game at your apartment?â
"Ooooo a movie sounds fun" star puts the other half of the burrito in his bag "you ready to go?"

They run down 3 buildings to they reach a moderately tall building around 4 or 5 story's "ok.. this is the only time were gonna have to do this .. but im not climbing-"
without giving them time to react spider star tightens their girp on NikolaiI and shoots a web on the top of the building and flings the both of them onto the roof shooting some more web under Nikolai so they dont get hurt from impact

Theyâre looking at the menu, having no idea what any of it is but eventually they point at a burrito that was advertised as âthe ultimate burritoâ which in his mind obviously means itâs the best thing to start on

Through some shady dealings, word passes about a new underground fighting ring that has popped up. It already has a ton of fighters connected to it.
Tons of scoundrels and dirtbags come to watch the fights. Betting and illegal substances passed around. People love to see violence as long as it isnt them being brutalized.
One particular fighter stands out. A red haired teen. The sign for the fight tonight says their name is Ace Winters. Only 19. How a kid got roped into all this only god knows. But no one else seems to care.

Nikolai was really confused but he trusted his friend, letting Star drag them across roof tops, keeping up with him without too much effort.
âWhat? What do you meanââ theyâre cut off by star grabbing onto them and swinging them across the building, they roll onto the rooftop to save their fall on instinct but the webs breaking their fall helped a lot.
They laughed a little, startled by it for a second since it was just so foreign to them. âYeah they made us lighter so weâd be quicker. That was so cool though, so you do that a lot?â He asked, pushing himself back to his feet.
"that was the frist time I did it to a friend..? Ive done that before but not with other people , so uhh your ok right that didnt hurt did it?
They walk over to Nikolai to check on them
"sorry to do that without saying much I thoughtd itd be easyer"
âNope, Iâm all good!â âThat was really fun. Felt like flying.â
"alright! Yeah it is pretty fun " star laughs a little
"Soooo.. what do you wanna do? There's that building down their which they hold like special stuff in like galas that we can break into.. or we can just explore.. theres a park near here but if we wanted to go their i probably didn't need to throw you up here... we can just explore..."
âI wanna look around, I never really had the time to actually explore the city. Donât they sell food on carts or something??â
"Uhh kinda yeah like food trucks, theres this one really good taco truck that always parks outside the mall if you wanna get some .? "
âI have no idea what either of those things are but Iâll try itâ he said, peering over the top of the building and looking up at the sky, it was dusk, the sun was still up but dropping by the hour. He was in full black, careful to cover up any Hydra logos so he wouldnât be found out just yet. âYouâre my guide to the world, Star, lead the way.â

They lead Nikolai to a few buildings over than find a building that someone who couldn't stick to walls could reasonably climb down
"So just down this block and the down the next street theres the mall and food also."
Nikolai smiled and followed after him, climbing down while Star easily stuck to the walls âhey! Thatâs basically cheating.â

"hey if you want after we get food we can go in the mall its right there but I dont know if youd like it to much- its basically just a bunch of stores combined"
âSame thing!â They said, jumping down from the last couple steps. âYeah, that sounds good, thereâs a lot of stuff in them?â
"yeah like different stores and stuff common " star starts walking down the block to the mall area
They follow after him, sight seeing on the way there since this is the first time theyâve wandered around without a mission. It was nothing impressive but it was loud, unorganized and chaotic. Everything Hydraâs not.
"is there any stores youd wanna specifically wanna go to? Actually before we to into the mall its should change into normal people clothes... so if you dont mind stopping Ata gas station so I can change in the bathroom "
Star keeps walking

They go into the gas station and star goes to the bathroom to change
They nod and wander off to do just that, looking around at a bunch of packaged items heâs never seen. It smells weird. Not sterile like the labs. They made sure to keep their tee inside out so the Hydra logo was hidden.
star comes out with sun glasses a zip up hoodie a striped t shirt under it and jorts "you may wanna wear a different t shirt it's kinda weird looking inside out, they sell t shirts here if you want one.. not like im an expertat lookingnormal or anything"
âYeah, but if I fold it outright it has the Hydra logo and our ID number.â He said âthereâs not really much of a point getting a shirt Iâm never gonna be able to wear again tooâ they pointed out
"fair... if you want you could barrow one of mine.. dosent matter though if your ok with the inside out shirt it's fine"
âWe donât mind it, itâs probably one of the most comfortable things we ownâ they said, following star down the street towards a massive building that he assumed was the mall
"Ah alright makes sense.. do you ever get bothered by people staring at your scars or do you not go out enough to experience that?" Star says as they get to the mall and getting the door for Nikolai

"uhmm they sell stuff for computers and gaming stuff.. video games.. like cool clothes and decorations.. stuff like that"

star grabs the side of their hair and starts pulling it slightly usually only somthing they di when stressed or upset

They change the subject and rush into the store
âHey wait up!â They run in after him, pausing to look around at everything on display which was a lot, a lot of stuff heâd never seen before. âThereâs a lot of stuffâŚeverywhere. This is normal?â
"uhhh.. .. yeah its normal its like alotts stuff in a smaller room "
Star is looking at the display off somthing or almost pretending to and just zoning out looking in its direction
âItâs like a storage room. But brighter. With more colorful stuff.â He said, walking up to Star and just hovering around him, staying close but not touching.

Stars says not really facing Nikolai when they talk

"Huh- what oh, your welcome! Wanna go look around a different store orr??? We could get food also "

"No I didn't- you know what its fine. Is there anything you wanna do???"
Star is trying to change the subject heavily
Nikolai showed up to Starâs apartment, fidgeting with their hands and a little anxious. They really liked this friendship. It was probably the only real connection they had with someone since⌠they didnât remember. It didnât matter.
They knocked on the door, using the actual building for once instead of scaling up the fire escape, and waited for it to be opened.

it takes a minute before the door opens star is on the ceiling when the door is opened when they see its Nikolai they visibly relax and drop onto the floor landing on their feet a little bit of dust flying in the air
"Oh its you!- hi - sorry dor the wait no one ever comes to the door so I thought you might have been a cop or a realtor or somthing-"
star steps back a bit to get them in
âUh, yeah⌠last time I was on the fire escape I almost fell so this was probably a better option.â They said as they walked in, not really sure what a realtor was and only having a faint idea of what a cop was. ââŚcan we talk?â

Star visibly tenses up when they asked if we could talk "uhhh... sure. . . . . about what?"
They sat down, very nervous. It was weird. They could kill people without a second thought, infiltrate high security places but talking was where they froze?

When star talks about hydra it seems forced or almost physically uncomfortable to talk about for them

As star keeps rambling and repeating himself it becomes more and more obvious hes spiraling and not thinking fully
They donât know what to do, they donât know how to react to this theyâve never been in a situation like this. It hurts, it hurts a lot and they hate it. Never have they felt so weak before⌠so why now? When their life isnât even in danger.

star pushes them off of them and hard enough to possibly knock them over than he wipes the pink tears off his face and flicks them away

They didnât fight it, just let themselves be pushed off, unfortunately Starâs strength vs Their body being genetically altered to be lighter so they can move faster is not a good mix and does send them crashing into the ground.

They stop speaking and just sob

Nikolai wiped his face and smiled âyeah, itâll be a first for us too.â Theyâre going to be in so much trouble when they get back, but that wasnât important right now. They just wanted to enjoy today.

"Oh cool!! Uhh we can have a bunch of fun! I mean I'm not sure what your hobbies are, but there's probably somthing fun we can do together"
They wipe their face and take off their sunglasses putting them on the floor

"uhmmm well I like drawing and I have a snes .. like gaming console we can play on that, or watch tv.. uhm I really like just exploring around the city and breaking into places but I dont know if youd like that, or how easily you could even get on build tops .. plus im supposed to be uhh laying low right now I guess "

star gets extremely excited and sits upright

They run down 3 buildings to they reach a moderately tall building around 4 or 5 story's "ok.. this is the only time were gonna have to do this .. but im not climbing-"
without giving them time to react spider star tightens their girp on NikolaiI and shoots a web on the top of the building and flings the both of them onto the roof shooting some more web under Nikolai so they dont get hurt from impact
