I've always been supporting of the theory of evolution, and had a quite good understanding of it, but ironically never read the most important book regarding this subject. The introduction by Jeff Wallace on its own is capable of convincing any one who is ignoring the tons of evidence supporting the theory. And once i started reading Darwin's words my admiration for the man doubled and doubled, he is constructing the basics of modern biology in a very interesting literature way, and the fact that he came up with the theory before we knew about the DNA and even before Mendel is just mind blowing, through the chapters of the book he's making hundreds of assumptions which turned out to be true later on. Charles Darwin is simply one of the greatest men in human history and the book is one of the founding documents of modern age.
