SPOILER WARNING: FOR THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS THE LAST ACT
Seeing the movie in the theater was an INCREDIBLE experience, seriously I don't regret going to see it in theaters for a second. And luckily I didn't get any spoilers that would have given away the whole movie before I got to the theater.
The beginning of the movie, which is episode 8, was incredible to see in the cinema; I felt much more impact from the scenes of Caine freaking out in the cinema than I did watching it on YouTube on my phone.
I REALLY enjoyed part of episode 9, especially the way Jax was explored, what Kafmo and Ribbit were like before their abstraction, the moment Pomni and Ragatha hugged, the revelation of what the characters are like in the real world, Caine's redemption—seriously, everything was SO BEAUTIFUL and made me cry and scream in the theater several times!!! The only thing I didn't like much was the enormous protagonism that Jax has, even though he's already considered a protagonist character along with Pomni. Still, in the same way that I loved seeing the scenes of his mind and his past, I was desperate believing that all the focus on Jax would occupy 90% of the film.
I believe the film's script could have been a thousand times better, but that doesn't mean I hated the whole movie. I loved the scenes, and they deeply affected my emotions in a way that no other film has in recent years.
I expected the movie to have a sad ending, that everything would go downhill and more abstractions would emerge in the circus. I believed that characters like Kinger, Ragatha, and Zooble would become abstract through my crazy theories. I watched all 7 episodes, from the pilot to the beach episode, to prepare for the movie. I felt fear and nervousness about what might come next because I thought everyone in the circus would have a sad ending, but everything surprised me in a way that relieved my soul, with the characters I love so much finally getting what they most desired in the end...
I love TDAC so much, but now it's time for the series to go to sleep and for the creator to finally rest after these difficult years she's had. I hope you can do well, thank you @gooseworx for everything you did for us who always rooted for the best of the series <3
I completely misunderstood the ending of the movie, and a close friend had to explain its true meaning to me. Basically, the characters we followed from the beginning to the end of the series weren't human, but digital copies of humans, and they never left the circus. This has left me quite disappointed and with mixed feelings about the film. I wish the ending had been different... :<
