Luigi's Mansion Portrait Ghosts

(AKA Melody's extended family)

For the purpose of convenience, I've made Petunia and Bogmire less uh... Creature like. I think Bogmire is adorable and they are NB.

Still have to figure out what I'm doing as of the family tree, but I think I'll have Linda be Lydia's older sister. I'm thinking the triplets are enlisted in Evershade Valley's military. I was originally gonna say they're in the Koopa Troop, but I feel like most of the family wouldn't... be in the Darklands.

SLIM AND WESTON ARE SO CUTE??? ABSOLUTELY adorable little fellas, they deserve more attention.

Doing this almost makes me want to start another blog for these guys. Buuut, I won't.

Working on family tree stuff, and I wasn't GOING to do anything with Melody, but I decided to take a peek at all the portrait ghosts in the first Luigi's Mansion and uhhh.

1. I'm going to attempt to connect them all. Mel's immediately family is already big, and I think her extended family should be big, too! Deciding who is connected to who is a bit challenging, though.

2. I'm going to DRAW all the ghosts from the first game. Or at least, the ones that are relevant/not already part of her immediate family... THIS SHOULD BE FUN!

Jr: Choccy Milk <3

Lemmy: Coffee

Larry: Mountain Dew. Usually w/ Doritos

Morton: Eggnog. Unlike with cooking, he's not overly passionate about drinks? But eggnog is a very fun seasonal commodity

Wendy: Strawberry Lemonade and other fruity colorful beverages

Iggy: Monster Energy DUH

Ludwig: Chamomile Tea. He's dehydrated af but will occasionally indulge

Roy: Bang Energy

Bow: Vanilla Milkshakes... It's definitely an escape from what they have her drinking at home- shitty sparkling water YUCK

Melody: Probably Orange Juice (her fridge is mostly stocked with juices for little kids)

Plessie: Soda, like Coke or Dr. Pepper

Dorrie: Soda, like Fanta or Sprite

Tio: Redbull Energy (this is an addiction)

Boom: Powerade or something. Flavored decently with no crazy texture and he can pretend he's "drinking healthy"

Pom: ✨️Boba Tea✨️

Motley: Perhaps a fruit punch juice box?

Mimi: Tap water because she still thinks the concept of water at will from an appliance is coooooool

Nabbit: Like probably almond milk? Lactose intolerant meets a way to safely consume milk: you won't BELIEVE what happens next?? Milk isn't even that good, but she CAN drink it, therefore she WILL.

Peasley: Sparkling water out of a champagne glass, it makes him feel all fancy ✨️✨️✨️ wants to have milkshakes one day but he's also lactose intolerant 🥀

Persephone: WINE. Chardonnay typeshit

Mauve: Green Tea?

Popple: Rum and coke... Takes him back to his nights with Bonnie

Topper: Coffee (made at home)

Hariet: Water with some blueberry-lemonade flavoring stuff in it

Rango: Rootbeer floats this man is a FATTY

Thinking about how Peasley is just a LITTLE bit taller than Mauve and that he can totally pick her up if he wanted to.

There is so much potential for their dynamic. The "how tf did I get here" step-mom, and the overly accepting golden retriever step-son. Delightful. I love this family.

For Morton, I think he probably should speak with someone outside of the family, with someone who knows or has a record of depression, to see if he should be worried or not

It's always so awkward putting out storylines where I know how it ends and things that are going to happen, and I have to say "Just wait for it."

Don't worry, Morty's gonna talk to his therapist about it, I promise!

unrelated to any of the arcs going on rn, but how would the characters fare in a heatwave?

im definitely not projecting because here it's nearly 1am and its still 22 fucking degrees and i'm sweating like a pregnant nun

A pregnant nun, you say? Hmmmm...

First things first, Iggy has really bad heat sensitivity. He is hallucinating and foaming at the mouth and acting afool. Getting PTSD flashbacks from the time Bowser made him stand guard in The Desert. The opposite, Ludwig, with his cold sensitivity, is CHILLING. He doesn't mind being a bit damp and sweaty. Sunbathing. Basking. RELAXED.

Morton + His squad go to the pool and don't leave. Plessie is a lifeguard, so they all get free entry and spend the whole day swimming. Wendy may come with. Topper is DEFINITELY there.

I bet Jr isn't too fazed by the heat 'cuz of. Fire. I bet Lemmy has a rotation of plushies he puts in the freezer, and then will hold onto one and just. Cling to it. Until it loses its coolness and swaps it out. Larry melts into a little star-shaped puddle. And, Roy goes to the gym just to bask in the industrial AC.

I feel like heat makes Spewart nauseous and pukey and gross. But he simultaneously doesn't like feeling exposed. TAKE YOUR JACKET OFF. Hariet does a lot of complaining, but I doubt she's all too fazed- it takes a lot to REALLY get to Hariet. But she does like some complaining! Rango is... Eating all the ice-cream in the house and consuming a bunch of fun sugary items.

Madame Broode says she will disown anyone of they touch that thermostat. Anyways. She and Chompikins have the temperature settings ONLY IN THEIR ROOM like below freezing. She says it's because her baby is metal and she cannot RISK him overheating!

Beans are notoriously temperature sensitive. Peasley, Persephone, & Popple have ALL the fans on FULL BLAST. The house is FRIGID. Motley, Mauve, & Mimi are probably playing outside with the hose. Lowkey... Nabbit sleeps half the day and only goes out at night.

Melody & Bow are probably at the pool with their besties <3

Kaley issss... Abnormally cold. Poor body hear circulation rep! Beef & Marge use her as personal body coolers with lots of snuggles!

roy i kinda understand, but ludwig dismissing the idea of iggy being depressed seems a bit odd

Ehh, fair enough.

The Boys hang out just enough to know that Iggy's energy drink addiction and his messy room and other things like that aren't really a problem? He's just kinda Like That. It's fine. Weird, but isn't everybody weird?

They don't know the extent of Iggy's lethargy and how far he'll go to turn people down and not go outside even when he has literally nothing else to do. He's 15, they're not worried about where he is all the time. So they don't know that his location is. In his room. 24/7.

Morton only figured it out by being Iggy, and seeing how different a "Normal Iggy" is from actual Iggy (chilling in bed the ENTIRE time, doomscrolling, chugging drinks, and doing absolutelyfucking NOTHING.)

Call it an oversight that Morton happened to catch! And NOBODY says no to hanging out with Nibbles and Morton! So now his goal is to get Iggy more used to going outside!
