genre: angst oop
pairing: Max Verstappen x female reader. Lando Norris x reader but not serious.
warnings: divorce, kids, not proofread.
summary: Max really didn't have to find a girlfriend that soon after the divorce, and the fact that his girlfriend had a daughter of her own, didn't really help your case.
It's safe to say you never really saw it coming. or maybe you did, but tried to ignore it as Mila and Luca had just celebrated their third birthday, with the second half of the season looming over your household, Max said the the words you never thought you'd hear.
I think we need some time apart to figure out some stuff.
At first you didn't really process it. Why would you possible need time apart? The twins were so young, you needed all the help you could get and things were good.
That's what you thought.
He said it was hard to continue your marriage if you couldn't keep him company or support him the way you used to, before having kids. Maybe he was oblivious to the disbelief showing on your features, trying to comprehend if he really needed to be reminded of your two young children, who had strict hours. You didn't feel the need to remind him that just three weeks ago Mila had to go to the emergency room for an allergic reaction, and a week before that, Luca was questioning you about why his dad wasn't around as much.
Max rubbed his left hand on the nape of his neck, obviously trying to ignore this part of the conversation, seeing as you eyes became teary and your eyes tried to find his blue ones, but he avoided them at all costs.
Then, it was time to bring the kids to a race, Austria to be specific. It was strange to walk without him on the so familiar space, holding Luca and Mila's hands, making your way to the Red Bull hospitality where Max was supposedly waiting for his family.
During the walk, you were greeted by most people from every team; engineers fist bumping the twins, Lando and Max Fewtrell giving you a side hug before trying to talk with Luca and Mila. Yet, when you reached your finishing point, Christian Horner's eyes opened widely, like his mind was trying to process something.
The Red Bull team principal was clearly distressed as he walked towards the three of you, greeting you as usual, but offering to take the twins for a quick tour, telling you there was a new snack bar the engineers had created and they should get to know it.
It didn't take long to realize the brit knew something you didn't.
A feeling you couldn't explain sank on your stomach. Your cheeks were already flushed, palms turned sweaty and suddenly your subconscious was trying to convince yourself that it couldn't be that bad, whatever it was. The world shook and your vision slowed down when you noticed a gorgeous black-haired woman, leaning against your husband as he laughed at something she said.
Your trembling legs managed to silently take a step back, trying to hold back the tears as you left the room, watching as Christian was still entertaining the twins, following you as the kids noticed you.
"Christian, can you please call Max to tell him we're here?" Somehow, with some divine strength, you were able to get the words out, ignoring Christian's glare as if he was trying to ask if you were okay.
In a matter of seconds, Max had joined you, receiving Mila and Luca with open arms. He wasn't aware of the fact that you already knew the reason he wanted a time off wasn't because he didn't get to see you, or that you couldn't make the effort to travel with the kids.
No.
Just as Christian had suggested, the kids went with him as Max directed your way to a secluded space. He didn't know what he was expecting, but it sure wasn't "I want a divorce"
He blinked. Once. Twice. "What do you mean you want a divorce?"
A snicker left your lips, was he trying to play dumb? You knew Max Verstappen as the palm of your hand. You knew him better than yourself.
You didn't need to see him kissing the black-haired woman, or holding hands, or even touching her.
Max's eyes, your husband's eyes, expressed everything you needed to know.
It wasn't important that he berated you for dropping this news right before Red Bull's home race, that his eyes tried to find yours but were unable to, as your crossed your arms as if that would protect you from the heartbreak and sudden change of plans; from a happy couple, a merry marriage and joyous family, to a life of weekends separated, of preparing their bags on Friday night, of being civil for the sake of the twins during their birthday...
And because you knew him so well, the relief that flashed through his blue eyes didn't pass unnoticed by you, because it wasn't him who said the words. He was guilty, but he didn't take the shot.
Your girlfriends always joked about his friends always were the first ones to reach out after a break up, making you laugh until text messages and Instagram DMs started rolling in: Red Bull engineers and mechanics, Lando Norris, Martin Garrix, among others.
Hey! I heard about you and Max, just wondering if you are okay and want to meet up some time?
It didn't take long to accept one of their offers, having messy nights with a British driver and multiple people from the paddock, but it was never meant to be more. and it absolutely wasn't, but it was early Sunday when the concierge called to inform the arrival of Max and the twins. Of course you didn't hear, Lando's body pressed against you as his soft snores invaded the bed you once shared with Max.
and obviously, Max being as restless as always, decided to just take the direct elevator to the penthouse overlooking Monte-Carlo. That's what made Lando open his eyes, very widely, as you hastily walked him towards the walk-in closet so that he could get dressed and not be seen or heard by Max.
Not that it mattered, but you were capable of putting family peace in front o making your ex-husband jealous.
"Hello my sweets!" Mila and Luca made their way into your arms, not caring about their backpacks making things a bit uncomfortable. "Did you have a good weekend?"
Luca started blabbering about papa's new place, the dishes Max's girlfriend cooked for them, and the incredible time they both had with Sara, the daughter of Max's girlfriend. There obviously was a bond between the three children, both arguing about how Sara liked them more than the other.
Max hadn't had the time to greet you or ask about your weekend, his gaze fixing on an orange hat.
"Since when do you own McLaren merch?" Max questioned you, pointing the foreign object, the logo being unusual on the household.
Ignoring how your heart skipped a beat, feigning ignorance your body turned to where Max's finger was pointing. "Oh, I don't know? I think someone gave it to me at one of the races. Long time ago, though."
That's when both Max and you noticed the twins were gone, probably on their bedroom unpacking or searching the kitchen.
Max took a couple of breaths, his eyebrows scrunched and eyes trying to find yours, not even attempting to hide his feelings. "Are you hooking up with someone from McLaren, (Y/N)?"
Your eyes widened, then took a step back trying to see if you heard him right. "Why would you even ask me that?"
Max shrugged; "I have a right to know, in case they end up sharing time with M and Luca. I can't control how everything works during the week so I'd like to be kept in the loop."
This time it struck like lightning, the fury and anger and disillusion your heart was carrying. "You have no right, Max. Absolutely no fucking right to be kept in the loop about what goes on in my life,"
Max didn't flinch at your tone, "I didn't say about your life, I'm aware that we are divorced, I'm talking about Mila and Luca,”
"I always think of them, they're the first thing on my mind when I wake up, and the last thing when I go to sleep. They're always on my mind and never leave, and I would never do anything to hurt them or even cause them the tiniest bit of disappointment. You have no right to come here and tell me you want to know about what goes on in here, because you are the one who chose to leave us in the first place," You vented, with Max's blue eyes fixed on you he was trying to keep his composure, but you knew he was uncomfortable.
"We are not having this conversation now, (Y/N). It's over, now it's just about the kids," Max added with a slight roll of his eyes.
"When are we having this conversation, then? When are you going to tell me that you wanted to separate because there was someone else already? that I wasn't enough for you? not even our kids were enough to make you doubt your decision to leave me, and it feels terrible and I don't know if I'm ever going to be able to feel the same because I'm shattered, Max." The words felt like someone was ripping your heart out of your chest, leaving you vulnerable as the thoughts became real, they were out there, but then it was followed by a bittersweet relief of not holding back anymore.
He noticed the tears and hiccups as you tried to make the point. His eyelids trembled as his hands meant to reach out to yours, pull your body to his, squeeze your waist and kiss your hair while assuring everything was going to be just fine.
That was the moment he realized that wasn't his place anymore, probably would never be again. Max didn't even think about that while signing the divorce papers, he didn't bother to show up to anything, sending a lawyer to do whatever was needed, and now it was hitting him like a ton of bricks.
His realization was cut short as the kids came running, Luca placing the McLaren hat on his head, ignoring Mila's voice telling him it wasn't daddy's team.
"I think this is when you leave, Max,"
You managed to keep your voice from quavering and erasing every trace of a tear, telling the kids to say goodbye to Max.
Yeah, this wasn't what Max had in mind for his Sunday morning.
“Okay so how does this work again?” Y/n said looking towards Max with a confused look on her face.
“ How many times am i gonna have to tell you till it sticks in your brain .” Max said while placing his hand on top of hers that were rested on the boats steering wheel and moving them correctly .
“I’m sorry i just can’t like grasp it for some reason.” Y/n said looking up at his face with a wild smirk on hers . “ I wonder why ?” He said looking down at her with the same smirk.
“Shut up, you’re so distracting help me.” Y/n said looking out into the ocean with flushed cheeks.
“Okay okay i’ll do it it’s just so cute seeing you get all flustered for me.” Max said looking at her perfect face.
Max slowly upped the speed of the boat and moved his hands along with hers speeding around the ocean and showing her the beautiful scenery .
“Are you ready for me to let go yet ?” Max whispered into Y/n’s ear breathing against her neck .
“Yeah i’ve got this don’t worry !!” Y/n said with a horrified expression on her face .
“You’ll be fine i’ve got you don’t be worried.” Max said looking out into the ocean trying not to make her feel scared .
Y/n slowly pushed him aside and grabbed the wheel for herself .
“I’ve got this.” Y/n said as Max tried to help her again .
“Okay okay i believe you.” Max said admiring her from a distance .
Summary: In which, in the darkness of the night, Lando Norris loves Y/n Fewtrell, only for the pain of their secrecy to plague them in the daylight.

“Y/n?” Lando’s voice traveled through the hallway, meeting her ears in the kitchen.
“Yeah?” She yelled back, eyes lingering on the wall in front of her in concentration of his next words.
“Can you come tell me if this skin on Halo is stylish?” He giggled, eliciting a giggle from her as she paddered softly into his gaming room, coming into view of his camera and allowing the chat to go wild with her presence.
She bent down, arm leaning on his shoulder as she inspected the animatronic, “I think it’s cool, yeah!”
Lando’s eyes twinkled up at her, “Really?! Your brother thinks it’s ugly.”
She reared around when Max came into the room, “Fewtrell! Don’t be mean!”
His hip popped out and he stared at her blankly, “Y/n, first of all, your last name is Fewtrell too, so I’m not sure why you’re calling me that. It doesn’t have the same effect. Second of all, it is ugly. I don’t care if that’s mean.”
Lando scoffed from behind her, but went quiet when her small hand squeezed his shoulder in a comforting manner, “Don’t be discouraged, Lan. If you think it’s cute, then that’s all that matters.”
Again, his eyes poured out love for her. His body buzzed and his cheeks warmed under her smile, something that visited him in his dreams at night. His head tilted, mind glazing over at the way she reassured him, supported him. He knew he was crazy for going this deep over her words on a gaming skin, but that was the way he was with her. Secretly obsessed.
Nevertheless, her touches were fleeting and she was exiting the room with her brother, the two in deep discussion about her calling him by their last name.
Lando, on the other hand, was left to address the chat’s exposing messages.

He’s so in love with her when will anybody realize it
—
Lando couldn’t believe how wasted Y/n was. As she stumbled to his car, he got out quickly, not realizing how much she had drunk when he wasn’t there to stop her.
“LAN!” She yelled, arms wrapping around his neck when he got close enough.
He chuckled, dragging her body over to the passenger seat and gently lowering her into it. He leaned against the door, smiling at her dazed demeanor, “Fun night?”
She nodded, eyes wandering around, “Yeah, except I missed you.”
Even her drunk words made his heart beat faster than normal. He knew she was impaired, she didn’t understand what she was saying or what it meant, but he still took it and held on. He had admired her so heavily from afar that any inference of requited love had him in a death grip.
Nodding and walking back around to his side, he got in and started the engine again. From his turned around position, arm splayed against the back of her seat as he backed out, she giggled, “Anyone ever told you how hot you are?”
He choked on air, mind spinning out at the question she had blurted out so easily. His lungs seemingly constricted, loss of breath prevalent as he stopped the car.
With his trunk sticking out, Lando looked at her deeply, “What?”
“You’re hot. I’ve always thought that. That and about what it’d be like to be with you. Always wondered about that. Always wanted that.” She replied, laughter continuing as if she wasn’t destroying the reality Lando had built up in his head to protect himself from the feelings he held for his best friend’s little sister.
He shook his head, resuming his prior actions, “You’re drunk, Y/n.”
Her singsong voice replied, “Drunk words are sober thoughts!”
He drove her home, helping her into bed and making sure she was okay before turning out the lights and driving back to his apartment. Throughout it all though, he wondered if drunk words really were sober thoughts.
—
The morning after, Lando’s mind was eating at itself over Y/n’s comments the night before. He had been so agitated that he drove to her house, pounding on her door impatiently.
When she opened it, looking incredibly hungover, he stormed in and paced the space of her living room before turning around and coming to a stand still.
“Are you okay?” She questioned, eyebrows furrowed at his neurotic movements.
“No, you said things last night and I need to know if they’re true.” He tried, voice very clearly pleading.
She sat down on the couch, staring up at him confusedly, “What’d I say?”
“You said that you wondered what it’d be like to be with me. You said you’d always wanted that.” He said forcefully, pacing starting again as his nerves stopped his ability to look at her.
Her heart stopped, wishing that she hadn’t gotten drunk, called her brother’s best friend, and proceeded to spill everything she felt for him. Similarly, she couldn’t look at him either, too scared for the reaction he would have to her reply.
“Yes, that is true.” She heard his steps stop, however she didn’t see him or what he was doing until he came and sat down next to her.
She was on the verge of tears, ready for a calm rejection from him, but was surprised when his hands gently took her face and turned it to look up at him.
“Can I kiss you?” He whispered, eyes searching hers, but only seeing astonishment.
“Yeah,” She said back, a smile breaking out when he leaned down and captured her lips with his.
It was slow, passionate as the two learned of the feelings the other had suppressed for just as long as they had. It was heartbreaking, the way they had missed time to be together out of the fear of losing the other, but they were kissing each other and things were finally fitting.
When he pulled back, hands still cradling her jaw, he smiled at her and she beamed back.
Whispers of how much they loved each other lingered in the air as he led her upstairs to her bedroom.
—
Max was always upfront about how against he was of the idea of Y/n and Lando. Promptly, Y/n and Lando decided it was best to keep everything a secret until time passed and they grew certain of their future together.
The only problem was that, from the start, they knew there would never be an end.
That complicated things. The uncertainty and confusion over when they would tell Max warranted an overwhelming amount of fights. Fights that took place in the small time they had to spend together.
“CAN’T YOU JUST SEE WHERE I’M COMING FROM?!” She yelled at him, hands flailing around with a face so disappointed in her boyfriend, it pained him to see.
“I DO! I DO SEE WHERE YOU’RE COMING FROM, BUT WE HAVE TO BE REALISTIC, Y/N! I MEAN, SHIT, AM I THE ONLY SANE ONE IN THIS RELATIONSHIP?” His words cut her soul, the man she loved judging her character after having told her how it was one of the things he loved most about her.
She scoffed, arms crossing over her chest in a physical plea for protection from his cruel, strategic insults, “FUCK YOU, LANDO.”
His hands flew out by his sides, an exacerbated sigh leaving his mouth, “GET OVER YOURSELF!”
She shook her head, it falling down exhaustedly, “I’m so fucking over this.”
He laughed dryly, “What? You want to break up now?”
She huffed, stomping her foot on the ground, “NO! I JUST WANT YOU TO LOVE ME AND TELL ME WHEN YOU’LL DO IT UNASHAMED!”
He stared at her, eyes searching hers for answers that were reasonable, “Y/n, you know I love you and you know I can’t give you a timeline of when the public, especially your brother, will accept us.”
She turned away, wiping the tears that had fallen down her face, “I’m so fucking exhausted of this. It’s been six months, Lando. And I’ve loved you for so much longer. It’s been years of having to hide how I feel about you and now that I have it, I still can’t show it.”
His presence loomed behind her, hands falling onto her shoulders softly before his lips kissed the skin, “I know, baby, and I’m so sorry. I truly am. For everything, the fight and this feeling, I’m sorry.”
She turned back around, body being held by him, “I know you are. I know this isn’t what you want. I’m sorry for that too, but, Lan,” She trailed off, his nodding taking place.
“I know, I know.” He assured, signaling that he understood how sick she was of pretending like there wasn’t anything going on between them.
She laid her head on his chest, murmuring, “When will it change?”
Truthfully, neither of them were sure they would ever know.
—
Parties were the hardest. Seeing Lando flirt with these beautiful women had Y/n throwing back drinks so quickly, it could be designated as a sport. However, this time, her boyfriend was quick to stop her from continuing, only allotting for a tipsiness to take over.
With Deja Vu, Lando drove her back to her house, except this time, he stayed in her bed. His arms wrapped tightly around her waist in the darkness of the night, she spoke, “Why do you have to do it in front of me?”
He kissed the top of her head, “Do what?”
She separated herself from him, moving to sit up and let her legs dangle over the side of the bed. He followed her movements, “Flirt with other girls.”
He nodded, surprised at the topic. His words took a moment to form in his head, and even when they did, he dreaded saying them out loud, “You know, I have to keep up the image. I can’t start dodging women’s advances. It would look too suspicious.”
She exhaled a breath, getting up fully and walking over to the wall to turn the lights on, “So, what? You just eye fuck other people so obnoxiously right in my fucking face?”
He let his chin meet his chest, “I don’t have the energy to have another fight with you.”
She groaned, “I’m not asking you to have a fight with me, Lando. I’m asking you to explain to me why you have to shove this shit down my throat.”
Lando stood abruptly from the bed and yelled, “I JUST FUCKING DID!”
She shook her head, “NO, YOU FUCKING DIDN’T! YOU GAVE ME A SHIT EXCUSE FOR A SHITTY SITUATION. OWN UP TO ONE FUCKING MISTAKE IN YOUR LIFE, LANDO. FOR FUCK’S SAKE!”
He rolled his eyes, “OH, GIVE ME A BREAK! YOU KNOW I OWN UP TO MY MISTAKES WHEN IT’S WARRANTED!”
Her eyes bulged, “SO, BORDERLINE CHEATING IN FRONT OF YOUR GIRLFRIEND ISN’T A MISTAKE TO YOU?! DOESN’T WARRANT AN APOLOGY?”
Lando scoffed loudly, heels of his hands coming to dig into his eyes, “I’m so fucking over it. You know I hate having to entertain them. You know I do.”
“Do I?” She challenged, staring right at him when he let his gaze wander to hers.
His mouth stood agape, “You think I want to cheat on you?”
She shook her head in return, “I don’t fucking know at this point, Lando. It’s awfully convenient that we have to stay private according to you just as all these women begin to throw themselves at you.”
“I’M NOT SOME MAN WHORE, JESUS CHRIST!” He yelled, pushing past her and walking toward her front door.
Clad in gray sweatpants and no shirt, he shoved on the hoodie he had left strewn across her couch when they first came in, “I’m leaving.”
She laughed, “Oh, what? I find out what the fuck you’re doing behind my back and you run away? Perfect!”
His hand on the door knob, keys in the other, he forcefully turned around and yelled, “NO! I’M NOT FUCKING RUNNING OUT WHEN YOU’VE CAUGHT ME. YOU HAVEN’T BECAUSE I’M NOT DOING THAT SHIT BEHIND YOUR BACK. YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU. LEARN TO BELIEVE IN THAT AND THEN COME FUCKING TALK TO ME!”
He slammed the door shut on his way out, definitely waking up some neighbors in the process. Y/n stared at the white paint, it’s continuous chipping off the wood annoying her, and cried. Cried like she had lost him all over again and cried because he brought up an eye opening point.
She didn’t believe that he loved her.
And she never had.
—
Y/n’s persistent knocking had Lando opening his door aggravatedly.
“We need to talk.” She said authoritatively, walking through the threshold without any permission.
He scoffed at her behavior, eyes rolling as he watched her retreat further into his apartment.
“Alright, about what?” He asked, his arms coming to tangle against his chest.
She turned around, looking at him sympathetically, a look so contrasting to the fiery one she had shot him throughout their fight the night before that he was reminded of how much he cared for her. That look had started it all, the adoration and yearning in her eyes that had pulled him in and refused to let him go. His eyebrows knitted together, head tilting as he willed the tears in his eyes away.
“What are we doing?” She said, clearly shocked over the trajectory of their relationship.
His mind froze, “I… don’t understand.”
She mirrored the cocking of his head, “Lando, ever since we got together, all we’ve done is fought. The love we share doesn’t amount to anything when it comes to how this has worked out. It doesn’t make sense, it never did. We were never supposed to work together.”
Was she really doing what he thought she was doing?
He shook his head, “Y/n, what are you going on about? Baby, I lov-”
She interrupted him quickly and tearfully, “Don’t call me baby. Please. Because of you, I’m a mess and an idiotic fool. I’ve ruined myself over and over again for you, and it never seems to be enough. I give and I give and I give, and nothing ever ends up meaning something. I’m sick and tired of sneaking around, using a different perfume when I’m with you so that no one can smell me on you, taking different streets so the paparazzi doesn’t see me leave your place. I’m sick of taking small looks from you when other girls get your full attention. I’m over being second to everybody else when I know I deserve better. My love for you isn’t enough for the pile of lies and gaslighting I’ve put myself through.”
Lando’s eyes searched hers for any kind of hesitation or regret, but all he found was an unwanted amount of tears and looks of exhaustion. He couldn’t believe the woman he had fallen so deeply in love with had gone on like this for so long and he never knew. It was as if he was waking up now, realizing just how much he had pushed her with his fears and just how late he was to save it all.
When he didn’t respond, she took a deep breath, wiped away the tears that stained her cheeks, and continued, “I can’t do this with you anymore. I won’t give you the typical it’s not you, it’s me. You don’t deserve that. I can’t do this with you anymore because it’s not worth it anymore. All the pain I feel, I constantly feel, has outweighed whatever this was. For my own sanity, I can’t be with you any longer.”
When he spoke, Lando wasn’t expecting to find his voice so broken, wet with the beginning emotions of unrequited love, “But, it has to be, Y/n. Your love for me has to be enough. My love for you is enough. Doesn’t that mean anything?”
She shook her head, swallowing thickly as she looked down at her shoes, “No, Lan, because my actions never made you doubt the love I had for you. Yours did. The constant shutting down when I asked when we could tell Max, the flirting with other women, the ignoring me when I was around you in a room full of people. That was the gradual journey that I was forced to embark on because I wanted you so bad. But, last night, after you told me to come talk to you when I started believing how you felt toward me, I realized that that day would never come. I don’t even imagine myself understanding the feelings you have toward me. If anything, come to me when you learn how to love me publicly.”
Lando reached out for her, but it only pushed her closer to the door, “This can’t be it, Y/n. I didn’t wait years for this to happen, only it to end this way. Please, there has to be something I can do.”
His pleading increased the tears falling from both their eyes, a painful reminder of the deep scar forming on their hearts, “No, Lando. There isn’t. That’s why I’m here and telling you what I am. Trust me,” She took a step forward, hand rubbing the skin of his cheekbone while the other splayed across his jawline, “If there was a way for this to be fixed, I would tell you. Realizing we don’t work is one of the worst heartbreaks of my life, but it’s life, right?”
His eyes closed at her touch, “But, what’s life without you?”
His whispering broke any semblance of her soul as she whispered back, “That’s what we both need to find out.”
Torturously, at the end of her sentence, the warmth of her palms was disappearing from his face and the grave coldness was returning. When he opened his eyes, he found the love of his life lingering next to the door, ready to leave him and the life he thought they would build together.
“What happens if we both find out that life without each other isn’t something we can sustain? What if we miss each other?” He tried. Anything to keep her for a second longer. Anything to get her to stay.
She shrugged, wiping a hand over her face to dry it, “I don’t know, Lando, but I think we won’t have to find out. I think this is for the best.”
Again, she sent him that gaze he fell in love with all those years ago before she walked out.
So ironic that that would be the last thing he remembered from the conversation where she ended it all.
So ironic that the face that had brought him happiness for such a long time would be the face of the greatest pain he would ever feel.

Streaming had become your full time job before the pandemic began and you had a decent following that rarely fluctuated. However, during the time that everyone was at home, a lot of people flocked to Twitch for their daily entertainment and a good handful of them had found your channel. With the site blowing up, you had managed to become good friends with a few other content creators, collaborating on challenges and game streams to keep your sanity in check.
Sometimes you preferred a calm stream, chatting with your viewers, answering their questions, and looking up random topics to discuss your opinions on them. However, one night when you planned to do just that, your viewers informed you that your best friend Charlie was streaming and that you should definitely stream snipe him like he did to you a few days ago. It took many attempts, and a lot of hilarious mishaps on your end trying to get into the same lobby under an alias, but you managed it.
That was also the night you met Max Fewtrell, a fellow streamer who won multiple motorsport events - you found that second part out a lot later down the line. Charlie had been playing with Max, and you had killed the latter a lot of times when he got in your way, sending him to the top of the leaderboard for death count. Sincerely apologising to the camera, as though he was watching, that you were only trying to troll your friend.
Post stream, you were messaging Charlie as he quickly figured out it was you chausing the in game mayhem. He had told you that Max wanted an apology from you, in a joking manner as you didn't make him look good on his own stream. So, you added him on Discord and the two of you ended up talking, a lot. You were 'rivals' in games when you were placed in the same lobbies, but an easy going friendship was blooming between the two of you behind the scenes.
The two of you spent a few hours on call together a week, talking about the most random things and trying to plan some streams. At this point, lockdown was long gone and every once in a while Max suggested doing something in person together, whether with just him or with all of Quadrant. You always tried to skew away from that subject, the way he asked always brought about some butterflies in your stomach. If you could barely handle Max's voice and face through a screen, you did not know how well it would go in real life.
He was also the person to pull you into collaborating with Team Quadrant on a few occasions, having you in their videos every once in a while or streaming the f1 game together when they were free. You weren't the best at it, but it was definitely a bonding experience between you all, as well as some of their other friends. No one treated it seriously and some very funny highlighted clips originated from it.
One day, they decided to recreate the Monza GP, keeping it nice and easy to level out the playing field for everyone. Even though everyone knew that there would still be a lot of crashes and chaos. While everyone else was getting ready to record for the YouTube video, you started to stream it so before joining you were trying to entertain chat. You talked through your tactics for the day, which was to mainly take out Max and Lando, and try to not end up in last place like you would usually do.
"I should probably join the VC now, Aarav is spamming me," you chuckled, navigating from OBS to Discord and joining the call while everyone was talking over each other. You pulled the headphones a bit away from your ears, mouthing to the stream 'it do be loud'.
After any necessary introductions, and the rundown of what was going to happen, you were launched into a qualifying session. You muted your mic, opting to talk to chat and knowing that they could get your perspective anyway. It was going well, too well in your opinion, your time topping the chart,
"No way! Y/n how did you get pole?!" Ria shouted, causing you to unmute your mic to simply state that you had no idea. It never happened before, your usual position being comfortably in the middle of the pack before falling back. You split into smaller groups so that you could all actually hear each other and form teams,
"I need you guys to protect me and get me that P1 for once!" you cried, pleading with the few in your call as you looked at your positions, "Especially that Fewtrell is starting next to me."
You didn't have much time to prepare, no strategy set as the rest of the people that you were with being further back in the group. You were told to just wing it by Steve and hope for the best, which was something at the end of the day. Once lights out happened, you became silent, trying to maintain your first place position. The chat made fun of your serious mode, as it rarely occurred, your lips in a tight line as you leaned slightly forward in your chair as though that would propel the in-game car to go faster.
All good things must come to an end, and that end was caused by Max when he cut a corner and slammed his car into yours, taking both of you out and into the wall,
"You've got to be kidding me!" you exclaimed in defeat, throwing yourself backwards into your chair as your car reset, a pout prominent on your lips as you cursed him in your head, "Men are trash,"
"Yes!" Ria agreed with a laugh, which quickly turned into a screech as you assumed she had gone off track. Once the car was back on track, and your position was essentially last, you placed a target on Max's back, promising your chat to take him out the same way he did to you.
You casually made your way around the track, taking your time as you waited for Max to come back around to lap you. That was when you pretended to let him through, you could see his car hesitate but then after a few seconds he was lined up next to yours. In that moment, you turned your wheel to the right and pushed him into the gravel,
"Whoops," you shrugged with a grin, looking at the camera and sending it a wink, not even attempting to get your car to cross the line as you were over a lap behind.
Quadrant decided to do one more round, more for fun this time as you were going to go around the track in the wrong direction. You decided to stay in a bigger group call this time around, some people branching off into duos, but most of you remained. After a few mishaps and a pile up in the middle sector, you managed to get out into P2 with Max just up ahead. It must've been your lucky day or something to be in such high positions,
"Hey Max," you turned up your voice as an octave, faking sweetness as you attempted to keep your laughter at bay when you heard a few other snickering, "Are you Tennessee? Because you're the only ten I see," the delivery was a bit wobbly, your strategy coming out of nowhere to flirt with him and hope that you could get past,
"What is your game here, Y/n?" Max questioned, everyone howling in the background at the change from you cursing him out the previous round to this. You could have easily blamed it on sleep deprivation or something, but you couldn't deny the flutter of your heart when you heard his voice become an octave deeper as he rolled out your name. Sticking to it, you cleared your throat, trying to be more serious,
"No game, just the truth," you sang, eyes focusing on the back of his car as you managed to creep closer to his through a chicane, "You're just quite pretty,"
"What?!" Max laughed, his voice evidently telling you that you caught him off guard. Your car ended up clipping his right after, spinning him out and you taking over P1, "What?!"
"My bad," you shouted, hearing Max grumble incoherently on his end as everyone congratulated you on your a-class play. The two of you returned to bickering, as he complained that you were being unfair to him,
"Is this some enemies to lovers bullshit or what?" Lando said amongst the murmurs, and your face immediately began to heat up, a blush spreading across your nose and cheekbones. Who knew that Lando Norris would know anything to do with tropes, never mind that one.
"You can't say that!" you called out exasperated, trying to will the redness to go away as your chat flooded with agreement to the drivers statement. People soon started to pick up on your blush that wouldn't go away, the fact that Max went completely silent, and the way Lando was giggling away to himself.
The race soon came to an end after you lost a few places when trying to reason with chat, facepalming yourself when they weren't listening and just kept teasing you instead. You definitely should've thought twice before falling to your bout of confidence and flirtiness, that was a bad idea from the start. The butterflies were still flying about from your own actions, your brain replaying the way he said your voice even though you have heard him say it so many times before. Something felt different.
You tried to shake away these feelings, but when your phone pinged from beside you, flashing Max's contact, your heart rate only seemed to speed up. You let the call entertain your chat as you took your phone from its place, opening the stream of messages,
'stay on call after?'
Such a simple thing, something you did many times before, and yet your heart skipped a beat. What is actually happening to me?
'sure'
You replied, not knowing what else to say as you locked your phone and placed it back onto the desk, jumping right into the conversation. But, soon enough, people were leaving and you were ending your stream, having spent enough time in your office for the day. You switched to Discord on your phone and left for the living room, joining the private call between Max and you.
The proposal of you coming to his house was the first thing that you talked about, him claiming that it was for a video as he finally got the new McLaren f1 lego set and wanted to build it with you. With some coaxing from his side you agreed, you wanted to meet up with him at some point and even if you were avoiding it, it would be nice.
Once you settled on the day after next, and the fact that he would pick you up and drop you off due to your car being in repair, you continued on to talk about other subjects as per usual. Jumping from personal experiences to future aims, and your ambitions. Him making you laugh at his anecdotes from his karting days as you asked him whether anything was recorded, claiming that you needed to see it.
And, just like that, you spent two hours on the phone to him, your cheeks hurting from how much you were smiling. The way he made you feel comfortable easing your anxieties for meeting him in person, but the butterflies made themselves known from time to time.
After you ended it, you sat there on your couch, smiling to yourself like a right idiot. Just hoping that you wouldn't look too love sick on his stream for chat to pick up on it.
____
You sent him your address just before he said that he was setting out from his house, and luckily it wasn't too long of a drive between you and him. From then on, you were sat on the couch, knee bouncing as you tried to compose yourself, stressing about anything that might happen.
You were already dressed and ready to go when he arrived, beeping his horn to indicate that he was waiting outside. After double checking that you had your phone and keys, you left your house and locked the door behind you.
"Hi," you smiled, sliding into the passenger seat before buckling your belt, glancing over at him to see that he was already looking at you,
"Hi," he echoed, "ready to get going?"
"Yep," you nodded, and he started up the car once he typed his address into the navigation. It was pristine on the inside, his cologne lingering around the enclosed space and the temperature just right. Your eyes looked over to the drinks in the cup holders,
"That one is for you by the way," Max pointed to the clear one, "I hope you got your order right,"
You raised a brow, grabbing the cup before taking a sip. It was your favourite type of coffee, your eyes widening as you looked over at him, your eyes questioning him at to how he knew,
"You always post about that type of coffee on your twitter, so I just assumed,"
"You assumed right," you held it with both hands, bringing it to your chest in delight. You didn't expect him to do that for you, and it was one of the kidner gestures that anyone has shown you in a little while, "Well, at least you stalked my twitter enough."
He countered your statement, defensive about the fact that he was not stalking your twitter, he was simply one of your followers and according to him you post a lot about your favourite drinks and snacks. You dismissed it all with a chuckle, switching the radio channels as the conversation lulled. When you couldn't find anything to your liking, he passed you over the aux cord and told you to play anything that you wanted to.
When the two of you arrived, he gave you a quick tour of his humble abode, pointing out rooms that you might need to be aware of if you need anything. You admired the warm interior, it was clear that it was a man's house, with not as many decorations as you held but just enough to be homey. There were pictures everywhere, but you didn't get a chance to get a closer look as he was pulling you into the streaming room.
The lego box set was already on the floor, everything pushed out of the way and to the sides so that you could get comfortable and have enough space for everything. While Max sat at the desk, getting everything ready, you made yourself comfortable on the floor, pulling the black box closer. When you tried to open it however, Max gave you a stare to not try it without him there. He started up the stream as you sat there in silence, currently being off camera,
"So, chat," he started when enough people had joined and all his mods were there, "I have a very special stream for you today, I will finally be building the lego McLaren car, but with a special guest,"
"Bigging me up there, Max," you chuckled out, bringing the stream up on your phone so that you could see the chat. There were already speculations of who you were, some being correct while others threw out random female names.
"Special, meaning annoying," Max informed with a smug smile, tapping a few keys before turning the camera so that you were being shown. He made sure everything was ok on the desktop before joining you on the floor.
"Hey chat," you smiled, waving at the camera, "I'm Y/n for those of you that don't know me. I'm also a streamer, the better one too," you chuckled, nudging the man next to you before starting to open up the box properly this time. As you were taking out the numbered plastic bags, Max grabbed a hold of the instruction manual before throwing it to the side,
"Who needs instructions," he shrugged, while you glared at him, rolling your eyes before leaning over him and taking a hold of it. You didn't realise what you did until you finally sat back down in your seat, your hand leaving his knee where you leaned to keep your balance,
"Mate, there's over one-thousand pieces and we are not smart enough to guess what goes where," you tried to ignore your heartbeat, sparing him a glance before you started flicking through the booklet.
"At least you included yourself in that statement," Max uttered as you gaped at him,
"Bit rude, you should have complimented me there," you pulled your hair up into a claw clip to get it out of the way, opening up the first bag and spilling out its content. The two of you got to working together, he did whisper to you that he thought you were smart in a way that the mic wouldn't pick it up, making your face flush a bit. You took turns of who was in charge of finding the bits and pieces and putting it together, double checking everything was correct as there was no way you could take it apart later.
You were answering questions here and there, picking up on statements from chat or listening to what the donations were saying. On multiple occasions the two of you leaned in closer to each other, knees or thighs brushing together and your fingers tracing the others as you passed over the lego. Everytime, without fail, your heart would flutter a bit, especially when he leaned on his arm behind you, hovering over your shoulder as you tried to figure out the instructions.
"I'm going to grab some water, do you want some as well?" Max offered and you were nodding, not knowing how strained your words would come out when he was so close. He passed you over the half finished engine that you diligently went back to building, looking over the chat after each fitted piece.
"I hope you guys are enjoying the chaos," you grinned, thinking back to the few squables that you had about which drawn piece matched which actual lego bit. You continued scouring through the chat, trying to find any interesting questions in the meantime, "Do I know something about Max that you guys don't know?"
You thought about it for a few seconds, a few seconds too long as Max was already coming back into the room with two glasses. You decided to answer anyway, a smile on your face as he sat down next to you again, much closer this time around than the first time, "He stalks my twitter," you said, eying him up as you sipped on the water,
"I do not," he sighed, looking over at the camera before pointing at it, "I do not."
"He knew my coffee order without me telling him about it," you explained, putting the water down to the side so that it was out of your way,
"Of course I know it, anytime I go on twitter you already posted something about it," he countered, "I thought you would appreciate it,"
"I did, babe," oh no, that slipped out without you thinking twice about it, your eyes more focused on the booklet and not thinking about much else. Your eyes widened as you looked over at Max, a wince coming out of you at his own shocked expression,
"Babe?" he mocked, laughing at your expression before swiftly moving on from the moment, taking the instructions out of your hands and going searching for the next required piece, "This is going to take so long," he sighed, completely changing the subject which you were grateful for.
"It does seem that way," you agreed, looking through the pieces and the fact that you barely made a dent in the manual despite already spending over an hour on this. Your eyes glanced over at the chat, and mostly what you saw was the viewers saying something along the lines of, 'Y/n is down bad'. Unfortunately, you knew that and you agreed, but Max didn't need to know that.
You finished off on what you thought was most appropriate, the engine was essentially done and you were still staring at a lot more bags. The two of you were answering some final questions and commenting on the last few dono's that came through, swiftly ignoring those to do with you and the 'babe' situation. With the two of you sharing your phone to look at the screen, Max eliminated all sort of space between the two of you, throwing his arm over your shoulder and you could feel his hair tickling your temple. Your cheeks were definitely flaming up.
"Right stream, we're going to sign off now because I am hungry," Max informed, smiling up at the camera as you did the same, nodding along to what he was saying, "We will continue building this another day,"
"I will be here to supervise," you added on as Max moved away from you, getting up to end the stream as his warmth left with him, leaving you shivering slightly, "Bye chat!"
As Max was signing off, you grabbed one of his hoodies from a nearby chair, hoping he wouldn't mind as you slipped it on. You leaned back on your hands, admiring Max's side profile as he finished up anything that he needed to do. When he was swivelling towards you, you laid back down on the floor not wanting him to realise that you were shamelessly looking at him,
"Is that my hoodie?" he questioned, moving to hover over you as you brought your arms up, the sleeves slightly covering your palms before you shrugged,
"No, I'm pretty sure it's mine," you mused, smiling up at him. He shook his head slightly, making his curls bounce as his brown eyes pierced yours, a knowing glint within them. You made a grabbing motion with your hands so that he would pull you up, which he did effortlessly. But, when you were standing he didn't let go of your hands, pulling you closer to his chest as you balanced yourself by holding onto his shoulders.
"Dominos?" he breathed, your eyes looking between his, noses inches away from each other as your breaths mingled,
"Dominos," you breathed out, clearing your throat before stepping away and leaving for the living room. He walked next to you, pulling the hood up on your head with a laugh before handing you his phone with the pizza app brought up.
You both settled into the couch, you looking over his shoulder to see if you can judge his order, trying to break the building tension in some way or another. Before you could speak though, he was already saying something,
"You look cute in my hoodie," he mentioned without hesitation, paying for the food with his card before placing his phone down on the coffee table. You moved away from his slightly, putting some distance between you as he turned to look at you, once again setting the butterflies free, "Makes it better when you are blushing like you are right now,"
"I don't know what to say to that," you muttered out, not trusting your own voice as you were taken aback by his boldness. He leaned in closer, his eyes flicking down to your lips before travelling back up to your eyes,
"I really like you, Y/n, and I'm glad you wanted to come and spend time with me even if I used a stream as an excuse," you leaned into him unconsciously, listening to his words with fondness as a wide smile broke free on your face,
"I would have came over anyway," you countered, furrowing your brows slightly,
"Well, you were avoiding the topic a lot," he noted, bringing up the times were you swiftly changed the subject of meeting up,
"That's because I was nervous," you explained, grabbing the fraying ends of his hoodie string, twisting them around your fingers to pull him in closer, your noses touching at this point as his hand travelled to the back of your neck,
"Can I kiss you?" his question was met with a nod and you fisting the material of his hoodie, pulling him in and finally closing the distance. The moment was quite euphoric, his hand keeping you in place as your hands moved to cup his cheeks, the stuble gently tickling your palms.
You smiled into the kiss, not expecting your day to turn out this way and only wishing you had come over sooner. His mouth felt soft against yours, the right amount of pressure implemented by him and you granted him access to explore your mouth when he gently nibbled on your lower lip. Your hands went to his hair, tugging slightly at the strands and he pulled you onto his lap for a better angle.
You got so lost in him, you completely forgot about the food you ordered, but the doorbell soon reminded you of the fact as you jumped away from him, startled at the loud sound. You fell back onto the couch as Max went to get the door, your hands covering your face as you tried to calm down your racing heart.
"The pizza is here," he stated, walking back to the room, lifting up your legs to place them over his lap as you sat back up, fixing your hair as you just not noticed that he took the claw clip out at some point. You hummed as you took your pizza box, glancing at him before going back to eating your pizza, "I hope you'll kiss me more even after I use this garlic dip,"
You choked on your slice, not expecting him to say anything like that. Once you composed yourself, you swallowed the piece and looked over at him, smirking at him as you tried to recover that embarrassing bit,

summary: drunken nights in Ibiza followed by 3 a.m. texts. what could go wrong? (5k words)
warnings: suggestive, borderline smut, sexting, cursing, alcohol/drinking, mentions of being sick to stomach, lando being a shit
The pounding in my head matches the pounding on the door, and I try to groan as I bury my head deeper into the pillows. The groan barely makes it past my dry throat and cracked lips, and it makes my stomach roll as the pounding on the door continues. I huff as I throw the heavy blankets off, stumbling to the mahogany door with a hand over my eyes from the sun filtering into the room. I open it to be greeted by Luisa and Lando who by the looks of it have fared the night better than I have.
“God, you look like shit,” Lando comments, pushing past me and into my room. “It smells like vomit and broken dignity in here.”
Luisa makes a face to offset the brazen nature of her partner, and without her here, I would have punched Lando so hard he would have wished he never woke me up. She holds out her hands, giving me an electrolyte drink and a bottle of ibuprofen, and I graciously accept them from her. Lando laughs loudly at the burp that passes from me after one sip of the drink, and Luisa looks even more apologetic. God, I must really look like shit.
“Do you remember anything from last night?” her voice is gentle as I flop back on to the bed.
I dig through the hazy memories from last night, trying to piece together the bits floating around in my brain, “Last thing I remember is the shots with Kygo. Then, it’s blank until we got back last night. I don’t even know how I got in here, but I remember taking a shower.”
Lando lifts the damp towel from the corner of the bed, and Luisa elbows him despite her smile, “Well, at least you took a shower.”
“You seriously needed one after last night,” Lando starts, voice grating to my ears as my head still pounds. “You were literally a mess. I can’t believe you were all over Max like that. We literally dragged you back-”
Lando stops when Luisa elbows him harder this time, but she’s a second too late as I whip my head to glare at Lando, “I was what!?”
I immediately regret my quick moves as the pounding in my head turns in an all out seizing, and my stomach rolls. I close my eyes again, breathing in sharply through my nose to try to prevent the rising bile up my throat. It’s no use, and I’m stumbling for the bathroom. Lando covers his ears as I empty whatever is left in my stomach into the toilet, and Luisa holds my still damp hair back for me. She asks Lando to bring her the drink she brought me, and he obliges despite squeezing his eyes shut as he approaches. I lean back against the cool tile of the bathroom wall as Luisa crosses her legs where she sits perched on the edge of the bathtub.
“Ok, somebody please fill me in,” I squint my eyes as I take another sip of the bottle.
Lando leans against the doorway, glaring at me despite the smirk playing at his lips, “Do you remember dancing with Max last night?”
I rub my eyelids, feeling flecks of mascara that I didn’t completely remove fall on to my cheeks, as I dig through hazy memories of the thumping club. I remember dancing with Max, something that hadn’t been weird as we’ve been known to gravitate toward each other in the club after a few drinks. My brain sends flashes of the night before across my vision—drink in my hands, his hands on my hips, my backside clearly pressed to his hips. I nod my head, “Just a bit of cheeky dancing between friends, Lando. Nothing we haven’t done before.”
Luisa mumbles a gentle oh, dear as Lando pinches in between his brows, “Oh, you so don’t remember.”
“Please tell me I didn’t embarrass myself,” I groan, tipping my head back against the wall as my fingers continue rubbing my eyes. “Don’t let me touch tequila again on this trip.”
Luisa snaps her fingers at Lando, clearly trying to be the softer of the two, and she places a hand on my bent knee as her gentle voice fills the bathroom, “Well, you weren’t the only one embarrassing yourself. Max was rather, erm, into it, too.”
“Luisa, please just tell me what I did before I throw up again,” I groan, feeling my stomach rolling with the hangxiety already taking root.
Lando nudges his phone into my hand, and I wince as the pounding bass of the club nearly blows his phone speakers out. I’m even more mortified as I watch the video on the phone screen, and the two can see my cheeks turning red as I watch the moment play out. It’s so clearly Max and I just off to the side of the stage, my hand tucked behind his neck and fingers weaving through his hair as his head falls in the space between my collarbone and jaw. His hands are firm on my hips, tugging at the material of my dress as my hips sway with his. I practically shriek as last-night-me tips her head back to meet his lips, and suddenly, we’re full blown snogging in the club. I can hear our friends whooping and hollering in the video, and thankfully, the video stops before I have to witness much more of my drunken antics.
“We practically had to pull you off each other,” Luisa says quietly, voice gentle to keep me from making the situation appear worse.
“He was piss drunk, too,” Lando says as if it makes the situation any better. “Man was mumbling about you until he got to his room.”
“Please throw me off the boat today and proceed to hold me under,” I groan, eyes finally opening in the dim bathroom.
“Gladly,” Lando grins, laughing as Luisa reaches across to smack his arm. The two look at each other before turning back to me, and Luisa is sweeter, even with the smirk climbing her face, “We’re leaving in forty minutes for the boat. Maybe take another shower before you meet us?”
I’m thankful when I’m left alone again in my room, and I take a thorough shower this time—remembering every step compared to the night before. I stand under the stream of hot water for as long as I can bear it, and I step out when my head spins and stomach rolls. The white towel is huge as I wrap it around myself, and I start to feel a bit more human as I drink more from the bottle Luisa brought me. My phone buzzes on the granite counter, and my stomach drops when Max’s name pops up on the screen.
How are you feeling this morning?
I already asked Lando if he’d drown me on the boat later
Wowwww that bad huh?
I’ve never been more hungover in my life
I wait to say anything else, wondering which of us will be the first to bring up whatever happened last night between us. A text bubble pops up, and I’m grateful as we still tiptoe around last night.
No more tequila on this trip. Agreed?
I just gagged reading that. Absolutely agree.
Alright, make sure I stick to it. I don’t need a repeat of last night or this morning ever again.
Still sick?
Luisa brought me a drink and some medicine. Lando was acting so daft, but I couldn’t get anything out of him. Man is grinning like he knows something.
Right… I guess we were the drunkest last night.
Yeah…
He knows. Whether he remembers or he had an early morning debrief with Lando isn’t clear, but if one thing is clear, it’s that he knows what happened last night. I start typing, but my fingers quickly cease when I see a text bubble pop up from him. I wait with bated breath until his message appears.
I’m so sorry about last night. I feel like a right prick.
Wasn’t only you, Max. We were both drunk, and from the video, both very much at fault.
What video?
I groan as I toss my phone to the bed, cursing Lando as the phone dings again from Max.
Seriously what video
I’m going to kill him
You and me both
I’m a few minutes late to the lobby, and the group has already left while Luisa waits for me. She makes a comment that I look better than I did when she saw me earlier this morning, and she links an arm through mine as we exit the lobby. She lets me rant about Lando, and she holds back laughter as I tell her about Max texting me and revealing the existence of this video. When Lando helps us on to the boat, I threaten to throw him overboard. He just laughs as I pass and walk toward the deck. When I emerge around the corner, the group on the deck bursts into cheering and hollering, and Max buries his face in his hands as he groans for them to stop. I hold a middle finger up to the group, and they turn to laughter as Tom shakes Max by the shoulders. His face is bright red when he pulls his hands away, and I make sure to sit as far away from him as possible as I settle into the plush seating along the deck. As people take to the water, I remain on the rocking boat, fingers clutching the plush bench to keep from being sick again. I jump when something cold touches my arm, and my arm draped over my face falls back to my side.
“I figured you could use one,” Max says quietly, holding the dripping water bottle out to me. He glances over the side of the boat to make sure our friends aren’t paying attention to us.
I take the water bottle from his hands, cracking the lid before taking a sip. He watches me closely, eyes following my lips as they meet the edge of the cold bottle. I can feel my face burning red, and flashes of last night and the video pass through my mind again. He clears his throat as he looks away, pulling sunglasses back over his eyes as he leans into the plush bench.
“Thank you,” I say halfheartedly, eyes too busy watching him as he tips his head against the back of the plush seating. My eyes can’t help but drink him in, and while I’m secretly grateful for the white shirt on his torso, I curse the red board shorts that reveal more of his thigh than my brain can handle right now. His throat bobs as he takes a swig from his own water bottle, and I tear my eyes away to avoid embarrassing myself any further.
“I don’t want this to be weird, but after I nearly killed Lando, I made him show me the video,” Max mumbles out of caution. Our eyes meet beneath our sunglasses as we both look at each other’s face to see our reactions. Both of us are surprisingly calm, but my heart is hammering in my chest and palms starting to sweat. I nod my head for him to continue, “Jesus, we were a mess, yeah?”
I laugh quietly, nodding as I sit up from my lounged position. My leg brushes his as I adjust on the plush seat, “We were animals last night. We’ve been messy before, but not like that.”
The smile that creeps on his face makes some of my nerves over the situation dissipate, “Yeah, we’ve been messy before, but this was another level. I’ve never seen that side of you.”
“That drunk?” I laugh, leg brushing his again as I shift on the seat.
He shakes his head, voice hoarse as he leans in ever so slightly, “That confident.”
Any response I had ready dies on my tongue and words get lodged in my throat. Max stands to walk away, clearly aware of his words’ effect on me as my face burns red, and he turns around with a glance at me before he continues. His fingers wrap tighter around the bottle in his hand, and I want to slap myself for the way my eyes zero in on his white knuckles and nimble fingers. I’m grateful for the cold water bottle he brought me because I could use anything to distract me from the way his shorts cling to his thighs or how his curls sit perfectly imperfect on top of his head.
There are nonstop comments throughout the day, tiny digs or wiggling eyebrows, and I ignore them as best I can. My stomach still rolls with nausea, aggravated by the rocking of the boat, and, after my dicey encounter with Max, I spend most of the day lounging on the top deck with sunglasses over my eyes. Max doesn’t keep his cool as well—snapping on comments or yelling in his own defense. Every snap of his tongue is met with boisterous laughter, and I grin to myself on the empty deck, rolling over to get equal amounts of sun on my back as my torso. When I notice the red tinge on my skin clearly showing, I sigh as I make my way back toward the main deck to ask Luisa or Sav to put sunscreen on my back for me. I’m left mortified when I realize they’ve made their way back to the water, and Max is the only one around as he climbs up the ladder from his dip into the sea.
He doesn’t notice me at first as he shakes his hair with a beach towel, mussing his curls even more as they turn wild from the saltwater. His skin glows a deep tan in the setting Spanish sun, and water drips down his neck and back from his time in the sea beneath us. I force my eyes to look no further than the waistband of his board shorts because I’ll be utterly distracted by the way they cling to his muscular thighs. He sees me on the deck after a moment, skin beaming red and a bottle of suncream in my hands.
“You getting in?” he asks nonchalantly, trying to keep his eyes from tracing over my curves as flashes of the night before ping in his brain.
I shake my head, thankful for the sunglasses hiding most of my wandering gaze, “Still feel like shit and I’m not trying to get sick in the ocean right now.”
He grins, eyes hidden beneath his clear frames, “I barely made it back out.”
Silence lingers between us, each of us blatantly staring at the other. His teeth shine bright in the setting sun, and the orange glow makes his tan skin pop in contrast with his red board shorts. Our standoff borders on awkward as the silence stretches, and I realize it’s my turn to say something instead of continuing my gawking.
“I was looking for Luisa or Sav,” I motion to the bottle of suncream in my hand. “I’m already turning red, but I don’t want to get worse. I was going to ask them if they’d put more on my back.”
“Do you want me to?” Max asks, biting back the grin spreading on his face. His dimples briefly appear, “I mean, I don’t want you to end up sick with a burn now, too.”
“Max,” my voice trails off. I’m not sure what I was even going to say, and what should have been a warning—something saying maybe this wasn’t going to be a good idea—dies on my tongue.
His grin is full-fledged this time, dimples deep and canines on display, “No funny business. I promise.”
I huff, and without an answer, I pass him the suncream bottle. He takes it from my hand, our fingers brushing on the outside of the bottle, and I turn so my back faces him. He gathers my hair and moves it to one shoulder, and I bite the inside of my cheek when his fingers brush the base of my neck as he lays my hair flat. The bottle clicks as he opens the top, and I gasp slightly when the cool liquid touches my warm skin.
“Have you put this on at all?” he chuckles quietly, hands starting to rub the suncream into my red back. I take a sharp inhale through my nose before answering, trying my best to ignore his palms on my back, “Only once. I couldn’t get my back by myself.”
“Well, you could’ve asked earlier,” he says matter-of-factly, so focused on rubbing away the white cast that he is oblivious to my stifled breathing. “I gladly would have done it for you.”
“Gladly?” I smirk.
“Piss off,” he mumbles, but I can hear the smile as he speaks.
His hands glide in between my shoulder blades, and his fingers dip beneath the straps on my shoulders to cover the skin. He doesn’t miss the way my breath hitches this time, and I debate tossing myself into the water from here as his hands freeze. I can feel his breath on the back of my neck, and that combined with the sea breeze sends goosebumps across my skin. He whispers all done before moving my hair back for me, and I turn back around to face him. Even beneath his sunglasses, I can feel his eyes on me. I pluck the bottle from his hands, a slight smirk tugging at my lips, “Your turn.”
He is hesitant but obliges, turning so his back is toward me. My hands work the product into his skin, and just for good measure, my fingers glide along the ridge at the top of his shoulder. Tendons at the base of his neck tense at my touch, and I giggle airily, “You’re tense. Long night last night?”
He groans, “You know exactly why. What happened to no funny business?”
“Just a taste of your own medicine,” I grin, closing the cap on the bottle. He turns back toward me when he hears it, and he suddenly feels way closer to me than the night before. Our eyes meet beneath our sunglasses, and I can’t help but notice the orange glint of the setting sun the corner of his frames are catching. His dimples distract me, and he gains control of the situation at my distraction, “You’re going to lead us down a dangerous road.”
“Well,” I grin, turning away from him to head back toward the upper deck, “we’ll see who breaks first.”
“Oh, you’re trouble,” he groans while I’m still in ear shot, and despite the confidence I had faced him with, butterflies erupt in my stomach and my skin burns where his hands had been. This was going to be a long trip.
The white duvet is soft against my burnt back, and I’m grateful for the cold shower that eased some of the redness and refreshed me after a long day on the ocean. The sky is dark now, lights from the Ibiza clubs visible across the skyline, and I wonder which club most of the group had ended up at. I rejected the invite even with Luisa’s begging. After last night, I could use a night in a time out. Plus, I didn’t trust myself to be out knowing Max would be there. The last 24 hours have been proof I can’t keep my cool around him. I toss and turn in the bed despite the exhaustion, and my brain flashes the image of Max and the feeling of his fingers on my shoulders or back every time I close my eyes. I glance at the time on the phone—3:03 AM. Against my better judgment, I click on the messages app and click on his name.
Remember, no tequila tonight
Not expecting a response, I close out of the app to scroll on social media, and I’m surprised when my phone buzzes immediately with a response.
No worries, I ended up not going. Stayed in to avoid any temptations.
Temptations?
Why are you still up?
He avoids my question by asking his own, and I’m grinning at the phone as I hold it above my face.
Can’t sleep. I’ve got a lot on my mind.
Hmm, do enlighten me
I roll over in the bed, imagining him spread out in the same manner, grinning at his phone as it lights up his face.
Well, for starters my back is on fire. Turns out your suncream application isn’t impeccable.
I’ve got aloe I can bring to you. You might need some help putting it on though
Don’t think I can do it by myself?
I’d love to see you try
I gasp at his words, heart hammering in my chest. This is clearly heading down a dangerous path, and we’re running out of options to turnaround. My fingers hesitate over the keyboard, text bubble popping up on his screen as I mull over what to say. With a surge of confidence, I hit send.
You’d just love to see me needing a hand, wouldn’t you?
Depends what I’m helping out with
I can think of a couple things
Fuck
You have to be kidding me right now
My palms are sweating as a bubble appears and disappears a few times as he mulls over what to say now. I hold my breath as I wait for his third message to come through.
How burnt are you?
A thought grips me, and once it takes root, I’m powerless in fighting the lust making my brain hazy. I snap a picture in the dresser mirror next to the bed, pulling the hem of my big t-shirt just high enough that he can see my tan lines and shoulder blades in the ambient light of the room.
[1 image]
Might need some help with that aloe if you’ve got any
Need help with anything else?
Is this a booty call, Max Fewtrell? I thought I was just asking my friend to put some aloe on my back for me…
Tell me not to come up, and I’ll know it’s not a booty call
My fingers are struggling to type the message that I should be sending—the one telling him this was a mistake, a fluke of confidence. He must watch my text bubbles popping up on his screen before disappearing, and after a few minutes, another message appears from him that makes my heart pound and hands freeze.
Don’t think and use your words. You have to tell me if you want something, love.
My breath hitches as I read his words, and I’m ever aware of the effect just his words have on me. The minute I let him in here, no matter my intentions, I’m going to crumble with him in my space and my brain clouded by lust.
Am I going to taste the alcohol on you?
Talking about tasting me now?
It’s cute you’re trying to put this off, love.
Don’t call me that, Max. I can’t think straight when you do.
Would you prefer something else? Baby? Pretty girl?
My brain melts reading the words on my screen. Pretty girl pings around in my brain on repeat, and warmth spreads through my veins as a pit in my stomach opens up.
I’m in 312.
Are you sure you want me to come up? There’s no going back if I do
Get your ass up here before I send you another picture for keeping me waiting
I see that he read the message, and I leap from the bed to make sure I look okay before he arrives at the door. Like Max said, there’s no turning back, so when he knocks on the door, I’m slow to open the mahogany panel. We stand there in silence, breaths heavy, as we drink the other in. I’m in just my large t-shirt and a pair of knickers, and Max is wearing gray sweatpants and a loose tee. I’m lost for words when I look up to his face, appreciating the curve of his jaw complemented by dark stubble and his greenish-gray eyes beneath his clear glasses. He sticks a hand out with the bottle of aloe before shutting the door behind him, and I laugh nervously as I walk back toward the bed with the green bottle in hand. The white duvet is warmer than I remember, and I pick my fingernails nervously as he slips his shoes off before approaching the bed.
“So, which is it?” he smirks, and I quirk my eyebrows at his question. “Love? Pretty girl?”
My breath hitches as the terms fall from his lips—they sound even better than I had imagined from his lips. His dimples appear, and I brush my loose bangs back from my red face, “They all work.”
“Good to know,” he notes, sitting on the edge of the bed carefully.
I can’t tear my eyes away from him, but he says nothing about my shameless stare as my gaze drinks him in. He reaches a hand out across the bed slowly, palm cupping my cheek and fingers grazing the junction between my jaw and my neck. I must look pathetic to him as he does it, doe-eyed and lips parted as I can’t focus on anything besides his touch. His voice is gentle as he speaks, “I’m not going to say anything to them about this. This is between us and only us.”
I nod my head, voice shaking when the pad of his thumb brushes across my bottom lip, “I’m so happy we stayed in tonight.”
He chuckles quietly, eyes dark as they watch me, “Best decision all week.”
It’s not long before my hips are slotted over his, fingers grasping at his hair as our mouths meet. No alcohol, as he promised, but something more addicting and something I was entirely not ready for. My body comes alive under his smoldering touch, and the minute he whispers a term of endearment into my hair, my brain short circuits and I forget how to speak anything but his name. The club becomes a distant memory, replaced with his shoulders beneath my hands and his thigh slotting between my legs. He laughs as his glasses slip down the bridge of his nose, and my fingers push them back toward his eyes despite the desperate pleas falling from my lips.
“Thank god we didn’t do this last night,” he huffs, staring at the ceiling. “I’d never forgive myself if I did this and didn’t remember.”
I can’t answer—lungs burning and brain foggy—so I just nod my head in agreement. He wraps an arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his side, and I’m grateful for his gentle care. Once we both catch our breath, and fatigue sets into my bones, we talk about random things, laughing and giggling like little kids rather than two friends who would have to address the line they crossed in the morning. I’m not sure what time we fall asleep, and while it was never my intention to have him stay the night, I stay wrapped in his arms all night.
The pounding on the door startles me, and when I wake up to check my phone for the time, I’m met with resistance as my hand hits a bare chest rather than my bedside table. Oh, fuck. I shake Max’s shoulders, and his eyes fly open. I hold a hand to his mouth, pointing at the door, and he mouths shit as he reaches for his phone.
“It’s me,” Lando says from the other side of the door, and my stomach nearly drops to my feet. “Have you heard from Max at all? We’re supposed to play golf, but I can’t get a hold of him.”
Our panicked gaze meets, and I clear my throat before answering, “Why would I have seen him, Lando? Didn’t he go out with you last night? Probably went home with some girl.”
Max pokes my side at my comment, and I bite the inside of my cheek to prevent laughter. We stay motionless in the bed, and I’m hyper aware of my naked chest pressed into his ribs as Lando stands on the other side of the door.
“He ended up staying back,” he says. “I assumed you two would have met up or something since you both stayed.”
As I think of a response, having trouble focusing as his arm slides down my back, Max’s phone starts to ring. On full volume. My stomach rolls, and even though Max reaches to silence it, it’s too late. Lando heard the ringtone on the other side of the door.
“Max Fewtrell, I know you’re in there!” Lando nearly yells, but we can hear the smirk on his face.
Max rubs between his eyebrows, sliding his thumb across the screen, “Hey, mate. What’s up?”
Once we’re both dressed in our clothes from the night before, I open the door slowly to see Lando and Luisa on the other side of the door. He must have texted her once he heard Max’s phone ringing in here. They take one look at our disheveled hair and the faint bruise on Max’s neck before high-fiving each other and laughing.
Lando snaps a quick picture of us standing next to each other, “Now this is too good.”
“All this for golf? Seriously?” Max scowls at his friend, ruffling his hair and adjusting his glasses. As he goes to leave, surely to answer more questions from his best friend, he turns to me, “We’ll go out tonight, yeah? Still got another round?”
Lando’s and Luisa’s jaws drop at his comment, and my cheeks turn red as I laugh, “See you later, Max.”
“Bye, love,” he grins, turning to Lando once he smacks him on the back of the head.
Once they’re out of earshot and I’ve thoroughly checked Max out as he disappears down the hallway, Luisa pushes herself into my room, “You have to tell me everything.”
“3 AM texts, Luisa,” I start, shutting the door behind her. “They can never mean anything good.”

my masterlist
Nine months, nine months of blood, sweat and tears you poured into living your life, a life that had turned upside down exactly nine months ago. But in a good way, yes, a really good way. You couldn’t be happier the moment you took the test, and it turned out to be positive, and your boyfriend, he was beyond excited when he read the results, he was going to be a father, a role model for your little munchkin.
Right now, nine months after you found out you were pregnant, you opened the door of your house, the one you and Lando bought a few years ago, together. On your right arm was the black maxi-cosi, the one that held your newborn in it. It was your first baby, your first child and he was absolutely beautiful, his cute button nose, big eyes and most adorable giggle that would melt your heart in just a second.
Lando put the key in the key-hole, pushing the big white door open slowly, stepping to the side so you could enter the house first. He watched you, his heart beating faster at the sight of you with your son, it was a dream come true.
‘’Welcome home Jaiden.’’ You whispered once you stepped over the threshold, looking at your nicely decorated hallway, before looking back down at your son. Lando closed the door behind the two of you, carefully, not wanting to wake your son up, and then stepped closer to you. He gently took a hold of the maxi-cosi, so you could take off your coat and put it on the hangar.
You then did the same for him, so he could take off his coat and join you and Jaiden on your way to the living room. You carefully placed the maxi-cosi on the table in front of you, so he was facing you and Lando as you seated down on the couch.
‘’He’s so beautiful.’’ Lando whispered, an arm wrapped around your shoulder as he looked at your son, a smile on Lando’s face, as well as a tear in his eye. ‘’He is.’’ You replied, a soft sigh escaping your lips, a smile on your face as you watched your baby open his eyes, he was awake, and so far, not a crier, which both you and Lando could only appreciate.
‘’Hey buddy.’’ Lando whispered, wiping his tear from his cheek and reaching forward, unclipping the belts that kept Jaiden in his seat, and lifted him up. He was small, which made sense, since he was born almost a day ago.
You watched as Lando placed your son in his arms, close to his chest, his right arm supporting his delicate head, his left arm under his lower body. He looked down, placing a gentle kiss on the top of Jaiden’s head, making him yawn and stretch his arms just above his head, before closing his eyes and snuggling close to his father.
You still remember the day you told Lando, you were nervous, because you had been trying for a few months now, without any luck. You were at the Hilton hotel, over in Barcelona, for one of his races. It was Sunday evening, Lando scored an amazing P3, earning yet another trophy to add to his collection.
You had been feeling nauseous this entire weekend, but being naïve, you thought it was the tension, because this was one of the few races you’d go to, supporting your boyfriend, who had been doing incredible this entire season. You didn’t think too much of it, so you decided to not look into it, which was, in hindsight, very, very naïve.
You and Lando had been together for quite some years now, having met through one of his friends, back when Lando was still in formula 2. His friend was determined to set the two of you up together, and he succeeded, maybe even sooner than intended, because it was love at first sight. The way you two connected, on multiple aspects, came like a blessing, because you not only gained one of the most sweet, caring and loving boyfriends, but you also gained a best friend.
It was just a few weeks after Barcelona where you felt different, perhaps even more emotional, and the nausea didn’t end. You had been in contact with Isa, Carlos’ girlfriend, and she suggested you should take a test. The outcome? Positive, obviously. You were beyond happy, and along with Isa you were planning on how to tell Lando, because you wanted it to be special, since he was the one that made you feel special almost every day.
You had everything planned, along with Isa as your sidekick, who informed Carlos, not with the details, but with the bigger picture, telling him you had a surprise for your boyfriend, and that he had to distract him for the day. Luckily, Carlos accepted, which was probably due to the pressure Isa put on him.
‘’Goodluck, darling.’’ Isa kissed your cheek, resting her hand on your shoulders, giving you a reassuring smile as she walked away after, letting you alone for a few minutes before Lando would come over. You were nervous, because this was something you wanted to do, for months, telling him your were pregnant, that you were growing your baby inside of you.
Keys, you heard the keys rumbling in the door and you leaned against the table, the present behind you. You bought a small romper, a white one, with orange letters that said ‘Hi daddy’ written on it. Along with it, you put the test you took earlier this morning. You took another test this morning, because you couldn’t believe it, the fact you were actually pregnant was something that still had to sink in, so you probably did way too many tests, but all of them were positive, thankfully.
‘’Sunshine, I’m home!’’ You heard his voice, which instantly put a smile on your already happy face, your fingers fumbling around behind your back, playing with the bow of the nicely wrapped present. ‘’Hey, how was golf?’’ You asked, not moving away from your position. And that, was something odd.
‘’Great, I even got a hole in one.’’ He laughed, stepping closer to you. ‘’What’s wrong? You seem, nervous.’’ He frowned, placing his hands on your waist, stepping closer to you and pressing his lips on your forehead, leaving them there for a couple of seconds.
‘’I have something for you.’’ You whispered, watching his eyes as he pulled away from your forehead, a concerned look on his face. ‘’Don’t worry, you’ll love it.’’ You whispered, cupping his face with your hands before pressing your lips on his. You pulled away, reached behind your back and handed him the box, orange wrapping paper, and a white bow.
The look on his face, the confusion on his face, grew even more. ‘’It’s not my birthday, right?’’ He frowned, looking at the box which was now in his hands, before looking back at you. ‘’Right?’’ He asked, not even being sure of that right now.
‘’No, silly, open it.’’ You smiled, biting your lip as you nervously played with your fingers, looking at him as he pulled the bow, opening the box. He grabbed the white romper, reading the text and he looked at you.
‘’Shut the fuck up.’’ He said, his eyes watering immediately. ‘’Shut up, is this real? This isn’t a joke, right?’’ He shook his head, reading the text on the small romper over and over again. You giggled, feeling the tears in your eyes as well as you reached in the box, grabbing the test you packed alongside it.
‘’It’s real, Lando, I’m pregnant.’’ You whispered, laughing slightly as you wiped his tears, he doing the same for you. He shook his head and put the box on the table, wrapping his arms around you as he spun you around, attacking your face with kisses, before placing you back on your feet. Then, he did something that absolutely shocked you. He kneeled down, lifted up your shirt before placing a kiss on your lower abdomen.
‘’Hi baby, it’s me, your daddy.’’ He whispered, rubbing your stomach. ‘’I’m Lando, your father, and I promise you, me and mommy will love you, so so much.’’
-
You were still sitting on the couch, a sigh escaping your lips as you watched your boyfriend hugging your son, his tiny hand wrapped around Lando’s finger, a giggle escaping his lips.
‘’I’m going to make myself a tea, would you like one as well?’’ You asked Lando, kissing his cheek as he nodded. You got up, walking over to the kitchen to get yourself a nice lemon tea, grabbing your two Mr. and Mrs. mugs and pouring the tea inside of it.
You then walked back, tears filling your eyes as you saw the scene in front of you. Lando holding Jaiden in his arms, talking to him, excitedly, happily.
‘’I’m your daddy Jaiden, and I love you so much. Let me tell you a story. I know the stories are mostly for bedtimes, but this time, you’re lucky and you’ll have an extra story. I want to tell you the story about how me and your mommy met, because it’s an amazing story.’’ He started, smiling.
‘’Lando, come on man! It will be fun, don’t be such a moodkiller!’’ Max, Lando’s friend, was trying to convince his friend to join this party Ria was throwing. ‘’It will be the best party every, okay? Believe me.’’ They were 16, and party to them usually meant game night, at least, for Lando, because he still had to focus on his career in Formula Two.
‘’Okay, okay, but I won’t drink, I need to focus tomorrow.’’
‘’Right, right, because you want to go to Formula One, I get it, I get it, at least be my wingman then.’’ Max chuckled, happy because he convinced his best friend. ‘’y/n will be there too.’’ He smirked, wiggling his eyebrows.
Later that night, you were already at Ria’s place, being 16 yourself as well. It was your party, actually, a party Ria threw for you, because your parents didn’t want to give a big party. ‘’Lando’s coming too, you know.’’ Ria smirked at you, making you roll your eyes.
‘’Of course you invited him.’’ You laughed, shaking your head as you sipped your diet coke. ‘’Oh come on, you like him, he’s adorable.’’ She smirked, making you throw your hands in the air. ‘’I have never even met the guy, I only know him from your stories.’’ ‘’Well, that’s about the change, here they are.’’
You turned around, your hair blowing in the wind, a blush on your face as you made direct eye contact with the Brit. Yes, he was adorable, cute, handsome.
‘’And that, is when I knew love at first sight was a thing.’’ He smiled, holding your son close to him. ‘’I loved you the moment I saw you too, Jaiden, in mommy’s tummy.’’ He whispered and kissed his tiny forehead.
‘’Here, love.’’ You sat down next to him, the tea on the table in front of you as you laughed, watching Lando blush. He knew you heard it, making him blush, which was only even more adorable.
-
Later that night, you had already gone to bed, being exhausted from both your first day as a new mother, but also because of the childbirth. In the middle of the night, when Jaiden started to cry, you woke up, tired, and so did Lando. You wanted to get up, to take care of your baby boy, but Lando held you back.
‘’I’ve got this, love, go back to sleep, don’t worry.’’ He whispered, walking to the bed Jaiden was lying in, in your room, and he picked him up, swaying him side to side, rocking him before he calmed down and fell back asleep. Lando smiled, looking up as he noticed you had fallen asleep as well.
‘’Let me tell you another story, Jaiden.’’ Lando whispered, almost inaudible. ‘’But this one is in the future, and it involves a ring and a pretty dress for your mommy…’’
Since his best friend moved to Monaco, he always went there everytime he could. It was something quick, taking a plane and landing on Nice, then taking a train and going to Monaco, or Lando picking him up and going to him to his apartment.
He loved going there, feeling like if it was a small rest on his week, staying on a spare room and going to the golf club the next day. He even liked to play some video games with him on his gaming room that now has a simulator thanks to Lando's brother.
But lately, the reason he was going to Monaco wasn't to see his friend. It was to try to find that girl he saw once. The girl that drove him crazy a whole night and never saw again.
It was a hot day in Monaco, just as in England. Lando asked him and the rest of their friends to go to Monaco to spend some days with them, planning of going to the golf club, to the beach and even renting some cars and doing a trip around.
The day he landed on Nice, he was alone. Tom, Martin and Oliver were going to arrive the next day. When he walked out if the airport he sighed looking around with no sign of Lando's car around.
"Fucking muppet" he frowned looking at his phone, a text Lando sent minutes ago saying he couldn't make it to the airport in time and asking him to go on train there.
He walked where the trains were waiting, running to buy a ticket and then going to the train as fast as he could before it disappeared. He was holding his suitcase, not noticing how a girl that was passing by and crashing on her.
"Ow..." she groaned when she fell on the floor, rubbing her butt. "You have two eyes to use them, you know?"
He was surprised. The first thing he wanted to do was help her stand up, but she already was doing it before he offered her his hand.
"I'm sorry" he frowned, but she just walked away to the same train he was going to catch.
Max sighed, getting inside the train and sitting on the chair he had assigned after placing his suitcase on the shelves on top of the chairs. Then he saw that girl again, looking at her ticket and then around.
"Please don't sit with me, please don't sit with me" he begged internally, looking at his feet.
He heard how her steps stopped and sighed relieved, looking up again. But how unlucky he is, noticing that she was sitting next o him at the other side of the train.
"How nice" he thought, sarcastic, burying himself on the seat and deciding that the best he could do now was listen to music to distract his mind.
The journey to Monaco wasn't long, it was only some stops before he had to stood up and grab his suitcase if he didn't want to miss the stop. He had it planned, some minutes before the speaker announced the arrival to Monaco, he would stand up and take the suitcase calm, walking towards the door.
But the moment he saw her standing up too and putting her backpack on her shoulders, he swallowed thickly, paying attention to his movements and making sure he doesn't fuck up again. And because of that reason he nearly missed the stop.
When he walked out he saw her disappearing behind the corridor doors, walking away with that ponytail and that summer dress. After that moment, he never saw her again, something that made him really relieved.
But the rest of the day was like if something was stuck in his brain. Those words were repeating again and again in his head, making him feel more stupid as time went by. He couldn't even listen to Lando thanks to that woman that insulted him and a really intelligent way.
"Earth to Max, you here?" Lando smirked waving his hand in front of his eyes.
"Uh? Ah, yeah, yeah" he frowned shaking his head, the image of that woman disappearing from his mind. "A little tired, that's all"
A party. Yeah, maybe that's what he needs. Distract himself and drink, have fun with his friends.
The plan was perfect. They were going to the club on a cab, because they were planning to drink. Lando already reserved a VIP zone, a big menu of drinks and even asked the DJ to let him play something. It was a night to have fun.
But still, that summer dress was playing with his mind. Those words were disturbing him.
"Oi, blind man" he heard close to him, making him look around to find that smirk.
"You" he frowned.
"I couldn't imagine I could find you here" she said smirking. "I didn't knew blind people can come to clubs"
"I-" Max frowned looking at her surprised. "I'm not blind!"
"You are not? Then which finger am I showing you?" she smirked, showing her the middle finger of her right hand.
"Oi, that's rude" Max exclaimed laughing, making her laugh too. "I'm Max"
She smiled and held his hand, shaking it and stepping close to him to whisper her name on his ear, just pulling away fast and making him breathe her perfume with her movement: something fruity, then floral and then vanilla. All in one.
That scent got stuck on his nose the rest of the night. He tried to find her again, going to the dance floor and looking to the bar. He tried to get close to some girls that had the same hair as her, but she wasn't there.
"Max, are you okay?" Lando asked him patting his back, smiling a little drunk already.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine" he nodded, his eyes scanning the crowd again.
"Did you lose something?" he smirked.
"A girl that calls me blind" he thought.
Then he saw her again, and whatever Lado was telling him just got mute, everything he could focus on was her smile and how she was dancing with a group of girls and a man behind her, getting too close to her.
"Hold on" Max frowned, leaving his drink on the table and walking towards her, having a better view of how that man was rubbing himself against her while she tried to push him away. That made his blood boil. How can someone be that disgusting?
"Hey babe" he said quickly, maybe the alcohol helping him to talk confident. "Here you are, I have been searching you for a while already"
She looked up at him, shocked, but soon that gaze turned relieved after recognizing him. She leaned against him when Max wrapped an arm around her waist, looking at the man frowning.
"Can you explain me what were you doing with my girl?" He frowned, holding her closer and looking at that guy. If looks could kill, he would be already six feet under ground.
He didn't have an answer sicne the gross man walked away groaning. Max'hand didn't leave her waist, and she just smiled, wrapping her arms around his neck.
"That definitely proofs that I'm not blind, hm?" he smirked looking at her.
"Oh yeah, definitely" she laughed standing close to him.
The rest of the night he was with her. He didn't though about Lando at the other side of the club, who maybe was searching for him or that already went home after having too much drink for himself. But Max didn't care to be left behind, he was with her, dancing and having fun, standing close and never daring to kiss each other even if their eyes were begging the other to do that.
It was the moment he walked with her to the door of her hotel when he took the first step, cupping her cheeks and connecting their lips on a kiss. He could smell her scent, that sweet scent he couldn't stop thinking about during the night.
"Come with me" she whispered on his lips, not wanting to pull away.
And he went with her. Of course he went, it was like if she put a spell on him, maki g him follow her lime a lost puppy needing protection.
She was so beautiful, so absurdly beautiful on top of him, moving slowly while he ran his hands on every inch of her skin, wanting to memorize every mark, every curve, how her skin shines with the sweat, how her breasts fit perfectly on his palm. How the hell someone as her can fit him so perfect?
"Max" she moaned in his ear, and the way she said it got stuck forever on his mind.
The next morning she wasn't there in the bed. He woke up alone, with the memory of his missing half and the scent of her perfume on his skin and clothes.
It was a nice day. He went with Lando to the golf club with Alex and Charles and after that they just went to a restaurant to have lunch all together.
Max felt like that day was different, special. Something inside of him was telling him that something good will happen that day, and that kept him anxious, awake, in alert. Maybe he will have a call telling him that he will drive again? Or that one of his kittens peed on his bed. Maybe it's something insignificant and he's anxious for nothing.
"Mate, are you okay?" Lando frowned. "I swear, every time you come here is like you are at the edge of a panic attack"
He laughed nervous, brushing away what his friend said, and focused on his lunch.
And then he heard it. That voice, that laugh. He looked up and was immediately blinded by the sun.
"Hey, blind man" she said looking at her side, finding the man she bumped into months ago.
"This time I'm blinded" he laughed. "By your light"
"How cute" she smiled looking at him, biting her lip.
"What the fuck?" Lando gasped confused. "Who are you and what you did with my best friend?"
Summary - He did it, Lando Norris did it. He managed to get her to marry him
Warning - swearing, Mafia??
A/n - This is also inspired by a scene from Legend (2015) <3

Lando had her. With much fight, Lando managed to be vulnerable for Y/n. He showed his gentle side, he always did. And in amongst Landos chaotic and dangerous lifestyle, the gangster proposed.
Today, a bright and colourful spring day, was the eagerly anticipated wedding day. Close family, friends and gangsters gathered in the small church. All dressed in the requested colourful dress code, but one.
The mother of the bride, M/n L/n was dressed head to toe in black. It was like she was attending a funeral. Sticking out like a sore thumb.
A black McLaren pulled into the small car park, Lando Norris emerging in a smart and slick suit. His usual.
Whispers were heard. Everyone immediately noticing the infamous gangster. “Look it’s Lando…”
The curly hair gangsters eyes flickered around, well aware of his surroundings. Until his eyes stopped, stopped on the mother of the bride. The only person dressed in black.
Max Fewtrell, his bestfriend, immediately walked up to Lando when he saw how his face turned to a scowl. “All right, all right”
Eyebrows frowned, Lando just stared at M/n who stared back. “She’s wearing black” He only wanted today to be perfect for Y/n and her own mother was ruining that.
“Yeah, I know I know…” All Max was doing to calm down his bestfriend, not wanting to cause a scene. “She read it wrong, hasn’t she? She thought it was a fucking funeral”
Max had grown to like his bestfriends lover, was very friendly. “Wearing black, that fucking bitch” Lando muttered, fighting off his ongoing anger.
“Don’t drive yourself mad” Lando turned from his bestfriend to look at M/n again. Still staring down at him, she had unimpressed look.
Never did she want this relationship. Always telling Y/n that he would just use her for her beauty.
Max muttered. “Wait until you see the daughter” He knew how Y/n calmed Lando down. “She looks unbelievable in white…” And he was hoping this would do just that.
-
The guests and the Mafia boss gathered in the chapel. Lando and Max stood at the alter, looking down the aisle. “What do you see in her?”
Lando took a deep breath, he saw everything in this women. “Well, I see…” The lad paused. “I see me self, yeah, I see…”
In that moment Max knew his bestfriend, the once shell of a man, had a heart and Y/n had full control of it. “I see what I could be. You know?” Lando continued, he had a nervous facial expression.
“If I weren’t scared”
Max stifled a laugh, his bestmate was never scared. Y/n really had an effect on Lando, so much effect. “You’re not scared of anything”
Turning for a second, Lando looked at Max. “Yeah” Their faces holding knowing grins. Both well aware of the womens effect on him.
-
Just outside, Y/n and Leo had just arrived in the wedding car. She was dressed in her chosen dress, flowers in hand and vail pulled down over her face.
They climbed the stairs to the doors of the chapel, where their mother stood still looking unimpressed. In a hushed whisper, Y/n spoke. “What’s she doing?”
Leo annoyed at his mother for trying to ruin the day. “Well you know what she’s gonna be saying” He knew how much their mother hated this relationship but Leo just wanted his little sister to be happy. “So just take it easy, deep breaths”
The pair had reached the top of the stairs, now face to face with M/n. “Why you not inside yet?”
Without a beat M/n spoke. “Are you sure you wanna go through with this?” Leo tried to interrupt and quieten her but Y/n stopped him.
“It’s all right, Leo…” She inhaled a deep breath before turning back to their mother. “I love him”
M/n’s eyes were piecing. “Love” There was a pause. “Do you even know what love is?”
Looking down, Y/n replied quickly. “I know it’s not an answer to anything. But love is a witness, Lando sees me” She was so used to being berated and criticised by her mother that to Y/n, Lando made her feel free and loved. “And I see him”
She shook her head. “And who are you to refuse that?”
Leaning down slightly, M/n spoke again. This time harsh and bitter. “I’m your mother.” And with that, she walked off into the chapel.
The two siblings watched their mother walking in, silence filled the air around them until. “Wow…” Leo broke the silence.
Y/n turned to look other at her brother. “What?” Confused evident.
“Nothing it’s just…” He paused and Y/n could swear that she saw tears welling up in his eyes. “You really love him, because you would never talk to mum like that…”
It was safe to say that Leo was baffled. Y/n never once spoke back to her mother, but now she had that confidence to. All because of Lando.
It was the same for Lando. He was becoming softer, just for her. More gentle and sympathetic. There was a small difference in each, but everyone could see it as clear as day.
This is the redemption story of the request I messed up. There is a minor similarity in that the reader previously did karting, but I've changed the narrative a bit.
Summary: Max's little sister has always been in shadow, his racing career and friendship with Lando always outshining her. Lando has always made the effort to make her feel acknowledged, which is probably the bare minimum but it's definitely where her crush stems from. But can an old secret leave Lando giving away his own feelings for her?
Lando Norris x Fewtrell!reader
Despite her not officially being part of Quadrant, she's always helping him. In fact y/n is practically the whole marketing team behind it, she tells Max what to do and how to do everything right.
"Hey, y/n. My favourite Fewtrell." Lando greets as her brother and her walk through the paddock. An offended expression immediately being on her brother's face while she accepts a hug, only to hide her bright red face before stepping back. Not wanting to hang on too long or linger and have him catch onto her feelings.
Her crush on Lando has spanned since she saw her brother befriend the much smaller boy in their karting days. Her attention was caught by his bright cheeky smile.
"If she's your favourite maybe I should just leave." Max states jokingly but Lando yanks y/n back into a hug that she definitely wasn't expecting, even grunting when her body hits into his. "Can you stop manhandling my sister, she's not interested in your physical advances."
Lies.
But Max foolishly doesn't know that.
In fact, not only does Max not see the horribly obvious crush that his sister has on his best friend.
What neither Max nor y/n know is that Lando has had a crush on y/n for a while now. Although admittedly it is not quite as longstanding as y/n's crush on him, it's been around a couple years.
It started on her 19th birthday when she came home very drunk, like paralytic. He'd found her outside having set outside the door after several failed attempts of trying to get through the door, she gave up on it and just decided she'd sleep outside. Max, at the time, had already fallen asleep. During trying to help a very drunk and floppy Y/n get to bed, something in the way Lando saw her changed.
Then on her 20th he helped arrange a surprise trip for her birthday and she hooked up with some guy who was staying on the resort. She hooked up with the guy and the ugly jealous feeling in Lando's gut left him in a bad mood for the rest of the trip, when the guy left he was making sure to have y/n's attention at all times. That was all over a year ago now, but he still remembers that awful feeling at the sight of someone else with her.
"Come on, let's get you guys something to eat." Lando states, neither of them addressing Max's words.
They go get something to eat with Max and Lando maintaining conversation while y/n just sits quietly, as she always does.
"So y/n, you're coming to play golf and come karting with us right?" Lando smiles finally directing his attention back to y/n making her look at him for a moment.
"Oh...I uhh...I didn't think I was invited." Y/n murmurs which does earn a frown from both the men in front of her.
"You're always invited, y/n." Lando states with Max nodding in agreement. He shifts over wrapping an arm around her. "I'll always invite you at least, Max's opinion doesn't matter."
"No, it never does with you." Max hums sarcastically before he looks at his friend. "Move your arm off of her."
Maybe Max isn't as blind to everything as the two thought, even if they're unaware of each other's feelings. Though neither of them comment, but Lando does pull a face to mock the demand.
-
Golfing isn't y/n's thing and yet again Lando seems to be getting a little more hands on with her to help her get the right position. But it's when Max has to leave to help get equipment that Lando is left with y/n.
"You look great in a racing suit." Lando comments making her stop playing with the zip, a red rising up her neck and face. "I'll still never understand why you stopped karting."
Y/n's racing career did take her to championships. But she stopped when after getting runner up in her F4 championship. Really he isn’t all that sure he remembers it right but he’s almost certain she got an offer for a seat in F3. He'd never say it to Max, but she was better than him and showed promise to get into high title fights if she had've continued.
"Max was doing bigger and better." She murmurs honestly as Lando picks up her helmet for her.
"What?"
"Our parents...they said that they couldn't keep taking us both and Max was making a real career." Y/n shrugs then reaching for the helmet to take from him only for him to retract it back from her reach.
"Does Max know that's why?"
"I don't think so. I mean they didn't tell me while he was in the room...and he's never mentioned it." Y/n sighs hating that they're even talking about it. "Don't look at me like that."
"Sorry...I'm sorry, I just...you were so talented."
"Thanks." Y/n murmurs with a small frown before finally getting the helmet from his hand with some force.
Now Lando will support his friend through thick and thin, putting Max in charge of Quadrant wasn't just something he did because he wanted to give Max something to do. Really the idea for Quadrant had been in his mind for a while and he needed someone else to head it because he can't do it full time. But he has a feeling that y/n would've been Max's biggest rival and perhaps might've gone beyond him.
"Let's see if you're bit rusty then." Lando states trying to lighten the mood as he shoots her a smile, just in time for Max to reappear.
-
After watching y/n win the karting challenge for Quadrant with an excessively massive reaction. Y/n started trying to dodge Lando at any cost.
"Where are we going?" Y/n asks while Max drives them to a mystery location.
"You never told me that mum and dad made you quit for me." Max comments suddenly making her sigh rolling her eyes and looking out the window.
"It never mattered really. You were older and further in your career." Y/n mutters having never wanted to have this discussion wit her brother. "I didn't tell Lando for you to take pity on me and tell you. I didn't mean to tell him at all."
"Well you should've." Max scolds then readjusting to his grip as a sign that she can tell he's trying to calm down.
"Can you tell me where we're going since apparently we don't keep secrets, or we're not allowed to keep secrets?" Y/n grumbles while he sighs softly and looks at her.
"Lando wanted to set up a surprise for you. He wouldn't tell me what, just the location to take you to."
The two siblings basically go silent for the rest of the journey and when they pull up y/n is more than confused as to why they're on the tarmac of a runway where Lando is standing with a few others.
"What the hell?" Y/n murmurs as they get out and Lando grins and Max stays next to his car while Lando pulls her onto the little private jet.
"Do you remember your 19th birthday?" Lando questions making her frown since they all know she was so violently ill when she was hungover that she ended up going to A&E for alcohol poisoning after she went momentarily blind from being sick.
"No. No, I don't remember." Y/n states completely in awe of the suggestion she would remember anything.
"I've wanted to get you away from Max and take you on a date since that day." Lando declares while she feels her mouth go dry. "So I'm sort of kidnapping you and we're going on a holiday as our first date...unless you really don't want to then you can get off the jet and go home."
Lando waits for a response before she nods at him making him give Max a thumbs up out the window that he can leave.
"Lando...my 19th birthday was nearly 3 years go." Y/n mumbles making him look at her with a small smile. "Well you hid it well."
"Did I?" Lando questions not really convinced of that. "Looking back on it. You really didn't."
"Oh god, don't remind me over that. I hate that you even know." Y/n pouts then groaning as she slumps down in the seat, covering her burning face while Lando just laughs before moving over to sit down next to her. "
-
Lando took y/n to Dubai. Apparently having managed to get Ria to pack up some Dubai-appropriate clothes for her.
"What do you think Max would say if he knew what we just did?" Lando questions making y/n look at him with a wrinkled nose while Lando shoots her a grin. "What?"
"We just had sex but your mind is on my brother. Is that going to be a regular thing? Because I can handle it, I just need a heads up."
"No. But...he's the reason I never made a move earlier. So excuse me for not being able to completely ignore him invading my thoughts." Lando states sassily earning a look from the young woman. "Come back here."
Y/n sighs climbing on the hotel bed and sliding over the sheets as she returns to his side.
"Speaking of my brother...why did you tell him?" Y/n asks while Lando frowns. "I never wants him to know because it's not fair for him to feel guilty about something that he never asked for."
"Because he never knew why." Lando mumbles while she sighs since she still wishes Max never found out and it wasn't really Lando's choice to tell him. "Sorry."
"It's ok. But you could've at least told me that you told him."
"I would've but you were doing everything to dodge me. Even Max said hanging out without you there felt wrong." Lando admits then shifting just enough so he can kiss her. "You don't know how much you mean to everyone around you...it's not fair that you were made to be thought of as a second choice by your parents. But you should know, you have always been Max's favourite person. Above me, above your parents, above everyone."
Y/n frowns, trying to blink away tears at are completely fogging her vision but eventually she moves her hands to rub them away.
"Aww....baby, no." Lando laughs yanking her up into a full hug and just squeezing her. "You're not supposed to cry.
"How am I not meant to cry at that?"
"I don't know, I'm new to this boyfriend stuff. But crying is never a good sign is it?"
Here's part Two! I hope you guys like it! It's a long one haha :)
Why did you agree to go on a date???
You look at yourself in the mirror and let your mind wander. You liked Joe; you really did. He was a sweet marketing guy from your office, and he always made you laugh. So, when he asked if you wanted to go on a date with him you jumped at it. You needed to move on.
After that evening at your brothers a few weeks ago, where you sat in the room trying not to cry for the rest of your brothers’ stream, you had tried to move on from your crush on Lando. It unfortunately didn’t help that he had been trying to contact you ever since that night.
Unread texts and voicemails hoarded your phone, yet you continued to go on with life pretending they didn’t exist. You acted like your heart weren’t gut-wrenchingly hurt by his comment.
Belle is like a sister to me.
You didn’t believe it at first. Your mind racing back through the memories of you two. Did he only ever look at you like you was his sister? Your mind couldn’t fathom the thought. You questioned the times he looked at you, the times he would facetime you post races to let off steam, the times when he would be in London and before letting Max know he was there he would take you out for food. Your mind wonders to the other memories. The way his hand would sit comfortably on your lower back as you walked- if you were “Like a sister to him” then surely the hand placement was too low? Or the time when you were sat on the sofa and his hand was playing with your hair. You remember too clearly, his gaze darkening when he pulled your hair causing your mouth to fall open from the feeling. Was that sister-like?
The phone ringing broke you from your thoughts. You glanced in the mirror again and marvelled at your dress. It was a classy dress, paired with a red bow in your hair. Your heart clenches at your mind wondering what Lando’s opinion would be of the outfit: would probably be some Princess Belle reference. Your eyes start to sting so you push your thoughts aside, making Joe and tonight your focus.
You grab your phone and bag before locking up your apartment. Glancing at your phone you notice the missed calls sitting on your phone.
Missed Calls: Norris ♡ (3)
You needed to book an uber to take you to the restaurant. You had agreed to meet Joe there rather than him pick you up. With him living on the opposite side of London it seemed more conventional.
Thinking about what to order you left your apartment block, the cold chill of December reminded you of your lack of coat and you hoped that your uber would arrive soon.
“Belle?”
You froze. Your heart going into overdrive at the voice. The voice of the man you have avoided like the plague for weeks. You turned your head, not ready to face him fully yet.
There he stood. Lando. He stares at you- more specifically your outfit and then he snaps his eyes up to meet yours. He looks in pain again, taking you back to that night.
“Fuck-I I needed to see you. You haven’t spoken to me since that night, and I couldn’t bare another night of not seeing you” He shuffles awkwardly, almost like he regrets showing up. “I just needed to speak to you”.
You couldn’t move. Your thoughts going crazy. He was here. Why was here?
“Are you going out?” The answer was obvious, you only managed to contain the eye roll. This time you did turn to him, allowing him to see all your outfit. Truthfully, you wanted to gauge his reaction to the outfit; your earlier curiosities peaked at the way his eyes travelled down the cut of your dress. The way his eyes fixed onto your chest where he could see the goosebumps tracing your lower neck. You tilted your head, questioning his gaze.
“Looking at me like that isn’t very sister-like Norris”.
His eyes darted back to yours, guilt clearly running through them. He opened his mouth to speak but your phone buzzed, notifying you of the arrival of your uber.
“I have to go Lando, I’m sorry”.
You turn and walk away, ignoring Lando calling after you. You could hear him walking behind you. It was like a race. Could you get to the car first or could he get to you. But the answer became clear when you reached the car door, forcing yourself in.
As the car rolled away you looked away, unaware of Lando’s saddened eyes watching you leave.
“You didn’t need to bring me home Joe, you’re going to have a long commute back”.
The date was fine. That was it. Fine.
Joe was a true gentleman and if it was any other situation, you would’ve been charmed by this evening.
Yet your mind kept focusing back on Lando. Guilt consumed you at how anxious he was to see you. Your mind kept telling you it was the right thing to do but your heart was screaming at you for leaving. You had zoned out again until you felt a hand turning you gently.
Joe was watching you with a small smile on his face. You realised you had reached your apartment block and smiled apologetically.
It was like it was written in one of your romance books. Joe moved his hand from your shoulder to your cheek, cupping it gently. His eyes watching yours nervously and you could see the nerves in his eyes. He was going to ask if he could kiss you. Oh god.
“Y/N”.
That wasn’t Joe. Joe hadn’t moved his lips. That was the voice of the boy who had haunted your date.
Your eyes moved away from Joe to look towards the door. At the entrance of your apartment block stood Lando. Jaw set and eyes hard, he stared directly at Joe- who had dropped his hand as if you’d burnt him.
“Your brother is on his way, do you really think he would want to see you kissing some guy you’d just met?”
He was talking to you, yet his eyes didn’t move from Joe. Embarrassment engulfed you completely. You felt like a child and Lando speaking to you like that confirmed what he had said that night. You were like a sister to him.
Joe looked at you, disappointment written across his face. He spared a glance at Lando before quickly kissing you on the cheek. “I’ll see you at work Y/N, have a good evening”.
With that he was gone. Your mouth was slack. What a night. How had it ended like this?
A hand grazing your wrist reminded you of why. You snapped your gaze towards Lando. He stood there, lazily resting against the door- small smirk resting on his features. You felt the urge to thank him suddenly, but why? He practically ruined your evening. You barged past him towards the lift refusing to acknowledge him. You could hear his trainers scuffing the floor behind telling you he was coming with you, but you looked ahead, determined to not give him any sort of reaction.
You pressed the button for the lift and waited, refusing to look his way. Lando stopped next to you. Too close to you. His cologne washed over you in a silent wave and you took a deep inhale trying to capture the scent. In the corner of your eye, you saw him smirk as he looked down towards the floor- he knew the effect on you.
“Did you have a nice date?”
That did it. You twisted to face him- anger coursing through your veins. You had had enough. Months of having stupid feelings for this man. Months of longing and questioning every thing he did. Ever since that night you had questioned yourself; became angry at yourself for allowing yourself to create false hope in being with him. You had tried to move on tonight and it flopped- because of him!
You needed to see whether your mind had been playing tricks on you. You needed to see if he truly saw you as a sister or not.
You looked him in the eye before grasping your necklace. The chain sat snug between your cleavage, and you noticed Lando drop his eyes to it. He watched you twirl it around your fingers which stayed by your boobs. You leant towards him slightly, knowing it would be his turn to smell your perfume and see what his reaction was. His jaw hardened once again, and his eyes shut briefly before reopening to match your gaze. You noticed his eyes were a darker shade of blue than you had previously noticed and you bit your lip.
“It was very good, though you kind of interrupted it”.
“You could either thank me now or later”.
“Why should I thank you? You basically cockblocked me” You glanced parted your lips and dropped your gaze to his lips. You could hear his breathing, harsh and fast, had he moved closer? You were starting to affect him- it was clear in the way he tried to hide his emotions. His head lowered to get closer to yours and you parted your lips eagerly.
“I never did anything darling. We both know it isn’t him you want in your bed tonight”.
The lift opening saved you from embarrassing yourself. The whimper you let out was luckily concealed by the ding of the doors opening. You turn to face towards the lift before glancing at him briefly. He hadn’t moved, eyes now roaming your body.
“Looking at me like that doesn’t support the fact you think I’m like your sister Norris”.
You stepped inside the lift and leant against the mirrored walls. You watched Lando as he acknowledged your statement. The desire seemed to fade before a mixture of anger and maybe guilt? Exploded in his eyes. You couldn’t read him much further before he stepped in the lift with you, waiting for the door to shut.
He stepped towards you slowly, his head ducked down staring at the floor. You pushed yourself further into the corner of the lift. You felt like you were suffocating. All the emotions combined with his godly cologne were depriving you of oxygen. You could feel your erratic heartbeat, and the main cause was inching there way closer to you.
Lando came to a stop in front of you. His chest was almost touching yours, even though there were multiple layers between you both- you could feel the warmth from him. Lando continued to keep his head down, but his hand moved to grasp yours. His fingers enveloped your hand before moving up slightly to hold your wrist. His thumb grazed your pulse point, and you held your breath. He could feel how fast your heart was beating for him now- there was no going back.
He moved and lowered his head to rest in your neck. You could feel the shallow breaths against your collar bone and the soft curls against your neck. You allowed yourself to tilt your head to the side, giving him more access. You closed your eyes and imagined what your life would be like if you weren’t the ‘Best Friends Sister’- would Lando even know you? If he didn’t, would he even look at you?
“You know I had to say those things, right?” You could feel his lips moving against your neck, you almost whimpered again. You should push him away, deal with this like two adults would. But your stupid heart had the reins and was clutching at you to stay like this. “I had to say them to protect us. To protect you”.
It seemed like he pushed his head further into your neck, inhaling your scent. You didn’t even know how much you drove him crazy. After weeks of no contact, he needed these minutes. He needed you.
“You have never been like a sister to me. God Belle. I have never seen you as just a sister. What a horrible person I am for fancying my best friend’s little sister”.
You moved your free hand to press tentatively against his jaw, hoping to try and pull him away from your neck. He complied and you were now face to face. His nose grazed yours and you could feel his breaths against your lips. You parted your lips to let your tongue dart over your bottom lip. You made the mistake of looking into his eyes and you could’ve moaned. All you ever dreamt of was looking at you right now. Looking at you like you were the only thing he needed to live.
His hand moved to cradle your face, locking you close to him. Neither of you moved, too afraid of the unspoken emotions running between you.
“I thought I was making it up. For months I have been telling myself how stupid I am to think you’d ever want a girl like me”. You whispered it against his lips, feeling the impact of your words when he let out a small gasp at the end. You wanted him to kiss you. You needed to see how much he desired you like you desired him. You ignored the niggling guilt about your brother- you’d deal with that later. That moment it was just you and Lando. Belle and Norris. In the elevator, in your own bubble.
Lando brushed his lips gently over yours, testing the water. Your hand on his wrist squeezed; silently telling him to continue but he never. He stayed where he was. He wanted to take it slow and enjoy the moment.
The ding of the lift opening pulled you both apart. A couple walked in, curious eyes watching you both. You realised you made it to your floor and moved to leave, grabbing Lando’s hand in the process.
You had proved your first theory right. Now it was time to show him how much he really meant to you.
Time to show him what you had learnt from all the books you had been reading.
Ahh that prompt list is soo good! Could I please have 43 & 44 with Lando? Like best friends to lovers, they've secretly pined for years, Max has always known and eventually brings them together. So like they confess to each other and it swiftly gets hot, like they don't have time to get a condom so Lando's like (44). Thank you!
You find yourself in the McLaren garage at Interlagos, squeezing Max's wrist so hard that he slaps you off him. "Fucking hell Y/N, what's with the death grip?" Max scoffs, rubbing his hand over his sore wrist. "I just hate watching him race, it makes me so nervous." You mumble, covering the mic of your headset. "He'll be fine, he just has to hold P2 for the next few laps, which he will." Max assures, turning his eyes back to the screen following Lando's car.
He does just that, crossing the line 8 seconds behind Verstappen. Driving up to the P2 position you watch as he deftly pulls himself out of the car, admiring your best friend. Lando comes straight to you at the barrier, wrapping his arms around you and Max, "My good luck charms!" He beams as Max slaps him on the back, congratulating him on yet another podium. You can't help but smile as you watch your best friend get showered with love, and later champagne on the podium. Max watches you, "Stop with the heart eyes Y/N or he'll notice." He laughes.
"Fuck off Max," You laugh, punching him in the arm before continuing to cheer for Lando.
A few minutes later you find yourself in Lando's driver room, sat on the couch whilst he strips out of his racing suit, leaving him in the skin tight fireproofs. You can't help but admire the way they contort to his muscles, emphasising his physique. You hadn't realised you were staring until Lando coughs, "Y/N?" He asks.
You shake yourself from your daydream, "Yeah? What?" You cough out, heat rising to your cheeks. Lando squints at you in confusion, "Are you okay? You were gone for a minute there." He laughs, a hint of nervousness in his tone. "Yeah, yeah I'm good," You stutter out, "Just proud of you."
"Yeah?" Lando questions and you have to suppress a groan at his smirk.
"Mhm." You squeak, biting your lip. Lando's eyes watch the way your teeth encase your bottom lip, smirk growing by the second.
He stalks towards you, placing his index finger on your chin and lifts your head to face him. "Tell me the truth Y/N." He whispers, his eyes soft.
"I can't." You sigh, closing your eyes at his touch.
"Do you want me?" He questions, leaning so close you can feel his breath fan over your cheek. He presses a feather light kiss to it, something he's done a million times before, but this one was different.
"You have no idea how much I want you."
That's all it takes for Lando to slam his lips onto yours, your hands immediately reaching for the curls you've longed too touch for so long. His tongue swipes across your lips and you grant him access all too easily. His muffled groan at the feeling of your tongue only spurs you on further, your hands roaming his chest, desperately trying to remove his fireproofs. Lando chuckles at your desperation, "God if I knew you wanted me this bad I would've believed Max much sooner."
You smile into the kiss, "That sly little shit." You mutter, making Lando smile too. He reaches down and tugs at the hem of your shirt, breaking the kiss to begin removing his fireproofs. Both of you strip in record time, panting heavily as you stare at each other half naked for the first time. You open your mouth to speak but before you can Lando pounces, pressing sloppy wet kisses across your neck and down your chest. He reaches the buttons of your jeans, flicking them open in one swift movement before dragging the zipper down with his teeth.
You're left in just your underwear, thankful you'd chosen your race day set. A papaya orange thong with matching lacy bra. Lando groans at the sight, "Jesus Christ, can I-?" He begins to ask.
"Yes, God, yes please you don't have to ask." You plead, curling your fingers in his hair once more as he licks a stripe up your pussy. You moan loudly, pushing him deeper. He doesn't hesitate, his tongue exploring every inch of you, groaning at your taste. He collects your wetness on his tongue, allowing the taste to coat his mouth. His tongue flicks at your clit, relishing in the way your stomach clenches at the action. He doesn't stop, he can't stop. His tongue dips down to your entrance, pushing into the pulsing hole.
He continues his ministrations, fucking your hole with his tongue, not caring if he gets smothered by your thighs. His head shakes in between your legs, his nose rubbing your clit with every move. "Oh my god, Lando, fuck me." You moan, grinding yourself against his face. He pulls away, "I'm so sorry but I have to be inside you, I've waited too long." He mumbles, pulling down his underwear and climbing on top of you.
He runs the tip of his cock through your folds, drowning himself in your wetness. You admire his face as he does so, goatee soaked with your arousal and lips swollen with his efforts. Just as he begins to push in you stop him, "Condom?" You ask. Lando's face falls, "I didn't think about that, fuck, I don't have any." He whines, burying his face in your neck with a low groan. "For fuck's sake."
"It's okay, fuck me, I'm clean and I, uh, I trust you." You mutter, watching his pupils dilate with your words as his smirk returns.
"I'll just have to cum inside you then." He whispers, placing a soft kiss on your lips before guiding himself inside you. He groans at the feeling of your walls wrapping around his cock, fluttering with anticipation. "You are an angel, feel so good." He slurs, slipping his cock in and out, fixated at the way your juices coat him.
"Lando, I'm so close already." You moan, his fingers moving to rub your clit. "I know baby, me too." He kisses your neck, "Wanted this so long, can't wait to fill you up." He murmurs, your heels pressing him deeper inside you. Your back arches, feeling the pit grow in your stomach with every move. "Fuck." You stutter out, your walls clenching around his cock.
"That's it baby." He urges, "Soak me." You cum around him with a moan, his hips stuttering with the sudden tightness. He rubs your clit through it, letting the aftershocks settle before dropping to his elbows. He whimpers in your ear, "Beg me to cum inside you baby, please, I need it." The desperation in his tone clear.
"Please Lando, want to feel you fill me up. Needed it for so long, I'm yours, please." You whisper, sucking soft marks into his neck. His hips slam deep into yours as his cock twitches, pumping you full. His head falls to your shoulder, sweat coating your bodies.
"Holy shit." He whispers. "Max is never letting me live this one down." He laughs.
"Expect quite the 'I told you so' when we leave." You say in response, standing to find your clothes.
"Don't you need to pee?" Lando questions, changing into his post-race outfit. You shrug, "I probably should but I'll do it when we get back to the hotel, then I'll shower, you're very sweaty." He laughs at the disgust in your tone, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
The pair of you leave his drivers' room, hair tussled and cheeks red.
"I fucking told you so." Max tells Lando in the car on the way back, suffering yet another hit, this time from his best friend.
Funny Gaming moments with Lando and Max (F) x QuadrantStreamer! Reader
Plot: Just funny moments where Reader is a member of Quadrant and is a big UK streamer that does everything on Twitch and YouTube.
A/N: this is only small and just for fun, better Lando stuff is coming out.
Credit to formulaonedirection for the GIF
Moment 1:
"Do you earn more than Lando Norris, chat you guys are wild ... but honestly with my individual sponsors, YouTube and streaming and any of my weird side activities I think it'd be up for debate" you giggle not actually knowing how much difference there was in what you or Lando earned.
"Not girlie casually admitting that with her side hustle she earns as much as an F1 driver, yeah guys, you gotta think I stream and upload full time. So i get paid for each YouTube video I do, I'm a twitch affiliate and you guys are so so generous. I game competitively and earn from that. I have sponsors, so ... lets just say i had no trouble buying Lando's Christmas presents" you grin, knowing the man had widely expensive taste.
"Who am i spending Christmas with, well Lando's family has asked if I'd like to join them, but I'll be spending the holidays mostly with Max and Pietra. Oh my gosh guys, did you see Instagram? I met Martin Garrix! How cool is that!" you laugh.
Moment 2:
"So I'm here today with Lando, and I'm teaching him Valorant, he knows that I'm in good but I don't think he knows I'm Immortal" you say until you unmute yourself in discord.
"Hey Lando baby" you joke but all you get from the otherside is silence which makes your chat go absolutely crazy.
You hear a few coughs that sound like choking, so you check his stream making sure not to tab out on stream, seeing him sat there in shock in his chair blushing.
"Lando?" you ask, and you watch as he rearranges himself in his chair pulling the mic closer to him.
"Hi, hello yes. Sorry you just threw me off guard" he laughs, wiping across his face with his fingers.
"What are we?" he asks, and you burst out laughing at the question which makes him laugh too. Chat on both ends starts going crazy, with the spam of Lando Norizz <<< Y/N the Rizzler and you were both dying.
Moment 3:
"Argghh fuck" you scream leaning back and fulling falling back off your chair. You were currently playing the horror game ' In Silence with Max, Lando and Ria.
"No way did Y/N just fall?" Max asks laughing at the girl whose stream he pulled up seeing her laying on the floor gripping her shoulder while her chair was now also laying in the floor.
"SHE DID" Lando laughs and you groan out in embarrassment.
Moment 4:
"What was that chat? My door reopened and closed shut while I was gone?" you ask looking back at your door. You knew you were home alone, the only people having a key to your apartment being Max and Pietra and Lando. But they were all travelling right now and were on the plane.
"Chat, stop messing with me" you scold jokingly, you start to load up the game your changing too. However a knock at your bedroom door has you stilling.
"What" you mouth looking at the camera. You go to the door, chat spamming saying how by opening the door that how all the dumb movie characters die. You here another knock making you flinch, you rip open the door, screaming when you see the scary mask, jumping and tacking the person now.
"Ow Y/N fuck" you hear and you rip the mask of, knowing that voice but not wanting to assume.
"Lando?" you ask looking at him.
"I thought it would be funny" he jokes laughing.
Moment 4:
"So Lando, Max and I thought it would be funny to play Valorant but for every kill we get we do a shot" you exclaim.
"Y/N gonna need new kidneys by the end of this? Hmmm very true, maybe we change it to every time we die we do a shot?" you ask seeing what chat's opinion would be on that.
"Then Lando and Max will be needing new kidneys? Well, I'm playing on my alt account and I'm just chilling so we'll be in gold/silver lobbies. Last time we played on my normal account, it was a struggle.
"Lets ask what they prefer! Guys? You want to do shots every time we get a kill or when we die?" you ask after unmuting yourself.
"We playing with MILF account of FnaticY/N?" Lando asks.
"MILF of course. And no comps, I'm not being called a booster" you grin and Max groans, Max was gold 2 and was asking for you to coach him, you had watched him in unrated's but refused to do comps together.
"Wait, when did you change your name...didnt it used to be Ilovetits6?" Max laughs.
"Yes, but chat started to call me mother? So i just rolled with it" you grin looking at chat and winking.
Moment 5:
"Are you and Lando Norris dating?" you ask, and then you open your phone and call Lando himself.
"Hey baby!" you smile and show the chat what Lando is saved as and the picture while he's on speakerphone.
"Hey love. I'm a little late coming back. I got stuck here with Zac and Oscar, but Max and P wanted to know if you would like to go out for dinner with them tonight" he asks and you laugh.
"Wait, Y/N are you live"
"Maybe, look you said you were ready to go public. So this is payback for what you did to Max on stream!" you laugh, knowing he wont be mad at you, as you'd talked recently about going public.
"Exposed? Yes yes i did" you grin.
Moment 6:
"Y/N your boyfriend is horny come sort him out" AngryGinge says adding you to the call forcefully mid stream.
"Mmmm that sounds like a job for you" you says seriously and you pull up his and Lando's stream to watch what was going on. Some people had come into your stream to say to get Lando to end the stream before PR has his head.
"He's been moaning on stream Y/N get your man and take him home"
"Yeah sorry let me just hop on the jet to Monaco..." you joke, knowing you definitely don't have a private jet.
"Wait, just how rich are you? Your boyfriends out here buying watches for 400k, you have a private jet. This just ain't right!" he exclaims making you laugh.
"I don't have a private jet. But... I've been in one of Max Verstappen's" you boast, you'd been introduced to him through Lando as Kelly wanted to meet you and set you up with her modelling agency.
"Huh? WHAT?" he screams and you just laugh before leaving the call. You shoot Lando a teasing message watching his eyes change as he reads it, and he lets out a groan that soon turns into a joke as Angry Ginge yelled at him to calm down again.
Moment 7:
"Salem stop" you tell your cat, which had jumped up and starting to paw in your lap where the blanket lay across before flopping down wanting fuss.
She started to meow at you not getting the wanted attention, but you were in the middle of an important rank up game, that would put you as radiant in Valorant.
As the game went on, you apologized to your teammates when you died after nearly clutching a round when Salem distracted you by pawing at your hand on your mouse.
"Salem please bub. 3 more rounds and you can have all the cuddles in the world" you whisper to the cat before she settles down, you proceed to Ace the next round and your team and you win the next two. The end of the game, with the MVP you get promoted to Radiant #497.
You celebrated by grabbing Salem your black Bombay cat and hugging her tightly, she leans into you wrapping her paws around happy for the affection she's finally getting.
"Treat?" you ask receiving a meow.

Lando just wants you in his lap all the time. It’s an easy way to be close to you without having to stop what he’s doing, like having a conversation, watching a movie, gaming, etc. However, the first time he did it, he was home for a weekend and spending a lot of time catching up on livestreams with Max.
Lando got an idea and paused the game for a moment.
“Babe? Are you busy?” He is greeted with footsteps walking closer to the room.
“Not really. What’s up?” You answer leaning in the doorway, one hand braced on the frame.
“Can you come here?” He turns his gaming chair towards you. “Please?” His voice is slightly whiny.
You give him a hesitant look but walk over to him anyways. He reaches out for you, grabbing ahold of your hips and pulling you into his lap before reaching for his controller, trapping you between his arms, and starting up the game. At first you were confused because he never said anything after that other than yelling at his PC when his character died.
“Lando?”
“Hm?”
“What exactly am I here for?”
“Am I not allowed to miss my girlfriend?” He defended himself while still locked in on whatever game he and Max were playing. Your heart melt a little bit at his statement and accepted his response. You readjusted yourself so you lay your head on his shoulder and watched him play his game, drawing random shapes on the front on his shirt.
Eventually, you got kind of bored and asked Lando if you could take a turn next time he died. He perked up a bit at your question and agreed, showing you the different controls before passing it off to you, removing his headphones, ruffling his curls, and placing them over your ears, letting you readjust them before starting another round. Lando wrapped his arms around your middle and rested his chin on your shoulder to watch you play his game. He listened to you and Max make conversation and laughed when you accidentally fell off a cliff.
“Chat is going absolutely mental over you two right now.” Max stated is disbelief, reading off some of the comments. “‘I want what Lando and Y/n have’, ‘The only thing I’m kissing is a shotgun after this stream!’” Max laughed and continued to read off a few more comments that caught his eye. Lando just smiled and squeezed you tighter, giving you a light kiss on your neck before returning to his original position.

I’ve been binge watching a lot of Lando’s and Max’s old streams and the March 7, 2023 stream is easily on of my top favorites to watch. I’ve been working on another fic with Max Verstappen but it’s taking me much longer than I thought but watching the livestreams gave me this idea and wanted to get something out. Hope you enjoyed this short little drabble until I can get time to work on my other story. Let me know if you have any ideas and if you want to see something for another driver!
You guys have been requesting a cute wedding planning part for the shy series, but after the most likely to video from the F1 video, I decided to throw you guys a MAJOR plot twist and since it's finally Las Vegas race week (not even sure it's a good thing), we're going to use it for this. You guys might not like me for this one, I don't know but I wanted something to refresh this series bc while I love writing requests for it, I also love just using my own ideas bc after all that's where this all started.
Maybe Lando should've seen it coming that the whole suggestion of a short engagement would stress y/n out. Lando's personality with fame, he wants a big wedding. But he also wants y/n to have the wedding of her dreams.
The problem with that isn't that y/n doesn't want a big wedding, it's that the amount of new people she's meeting and they don't understand her shyness. They don't understand when she says she wants something but then reconsiders how much attention is going to be on her and changes her mind.
Unintentionally, Lando has left most of the wedding planning to her because he is focused on work and then when he isn't working he just wants to spend time with her relaxing and she respects that so doesn't push it onto him. Plus she might be somewhat lying when she says she's got it handled..
So when Lando steps out into the hotel suite from the bathroom, having a shower to be fresh for taking his first steps in the Vegas paddock, and sees y/n quietly ending a phone with tears in her eyes and scribbling something in her notebook that's been half-filled with wedding notes and ideas already.
She hasn't heard him walk in thanks to the music Lando's been playing to get ready to and apparently is to lost in her thoughts that she doesn't spot him out the corner of her eye. Not that it matters since she takes a stuttered breath in and raises her hands over her eyes, digging the heels of her palms into her eyes and rubbing harshly at them.
It's only when Lando stops the music and is close enough to pick her up and put her on the table, pulling her forward to wrap her legs around his waist, letting her face dig into his chest.
"What's going on baby? What can I do to help?" Lando asks softly as he kisses the top of her head and strokes a hand through her hair. "Tell me what I can do baby, I can't fix it until I know what's going through your head."
"The wedding." Y/n sniffles making him frown in confusion. "I-I just...the wedding planner is always suggesting things and I'm trying to say no when I don't like them but she said that she's running out of things I do like and at this rate-"
"Well she's being fired first of all. I'll handle that before we leave." Lando frowns with a scoff of outrage at the thought of anyone daring to talk down to his fiancé. "How can I help with the wedding planner? I haven't been helping enough tell me what I can do to help more."
"I don't know, every time I try to choose something it always feel like too much for getting married...I want something that is something you would choose. I don't even care about the wedding anymore. I just want to marry you." Y/n states sounding stuffy from crying but she has just planted a seed in her fiancé's mind and he's got an idea he can't shake the thought of.
"Ok, you just don't worry about anything. I'm going to arrange a couple things and figure this out ok?" Lando promises making her look up and he winces realising the physical effect this has had on her. The physical effect he's been too busy prepping for a new track to notice. "I'm so sorry, baby. I'm so sorry for leaving it all on you. I'm sorry."
Several kisses seem to finally calm her down enough for Lando to guide her for a shower , mainly so he has a chance to make sthe beginning of some arrangements and recruit the help he's going to need to make it all happen in such a short amount of time.

"Are you sure about this mate?" Max questions being in Vegas to support his friend for what is already set to be a record breaking race for the lowest temperature.
"P is taking care of y/n, right?" Lando states not even acknowledging his friend's question.
"Yeah. Yeah, they're checking out the casino." Max nods while Lando sucks in a breath. "I can't believe you're getting married in Vegas."
"We're still going to have a wedding at a later date, but I can't help her plan for something so soon and I want to marry her before Christmas. So...we'll have a wedding later but for now...I just want to marry her." Lando states earning a laugh.
"I know you do. I think the whole world got that from you talking about the engagement." Max laughs shaking his head while y/n is being prepared for a surprise that P is slightly stressed about being trusted with.
"I don't understand, why do I have to be blindfolded to get dressed?"
"Lando wants to surprise you after having been an idiot and thinking that you should be left to plan a whole wedding without his help." Pietra states making y/n hum as she pulls on the dress that Pietra handed to her and helps her into. "Trust me, you're going to feel better after this.
"Ok..." Y/n murmurs before she sighs softly and shifts around. "It's not a grand gesture is it?"
"No." Pietra answers almost too quickly. "I promise, it's just for the two of you really."
Y/n nods letting out a nervous heavy breath which unknowingly makes Pietra worry a little that Lando is making a big mistake with his decision.
-
Lando didn't want to get married in Vegas playing entirely into the cliche. So instead he managed to arrange to have someone officiate the union out on a balcony over looking Sin city.
"How you feeling?" Max asks as they wait for y/n and Pietra.
"Good. This is the right thing to do. I know it is." Lando assures him while Max nods and smiles. "What?"
"Just...you're getting married man." Max sighs making Lando grin at him. "Never thought I'd see the day, I was so certain y/n would see sense before now."
"Twat."
Lando has made sure there's two photographers to capture this moment from as many angles without it feeling too intruded on.
Only a minute later, Pietra appears guiding a blindfolded y/n through the door. And Lando feels his heart stop, the sight of y/n in a sleek white dress. Simple and poised, the exact dress she had circled with a "1" in her wedding notes book. Lando had someone find it and made sure there was one that would fit y/n for the private ceremony.
"Ok, are you ready?" Pietra asks getting a thumbs up from Max and turning moving behind y/n to undo the blindfold.
"I guess." Y/n murmurs so quietly only Pietra can even hear her.
When the blindfold falls away, the dark lighting means she doesn't really have ti adjust to seeing but when she sees her fiancé suited and stood in front of a man who looks far too official for this to just be a date.
"I know I'm not your dad, but hopefully I'll substitute." Max states appearing next to her which makes her smile but there's a shine to her eye. "I can also be told that you don't want to do this and we'll stop."
"No. Sudden and leaving me unprepared seems to be his style." Y/n whispers making Max chuckle flicking his gaze to Lando and giving a single nod that it's going ahead.
Max walks y/n towards Lando, not necessarily down the aisle since there really isn't one but eventually she's out on the cool balcony and it's not long before her hands are linked to Lando's.
"Don't worry, we're still having a wedding but this way we're married and the wedding can come later." Lando whispers earning a small nod before he looks at the man stood next to them. "We're ready."
It's not before long that the two have exchanged the basic vows with the addition that the wedding would have better vows in store. Then Lando pulls out the simple gold band that fits perfect with y/n's engagement ring and slides it on her find then she returned the favour as she puts a slightly thicker but same styled ring on his finger.
"You may now kiss the bride."
In a dramatic movie-like move, he pulls he against himself before dipping her and catching her in a case that thankfully doesn't go wrong.
Pietra and Max applaud, cheering and laughing as y/n is placed back upright on her feet. Face hot while Lando grins then cupping her face and kissing her again.
"You are officially mind for good." Lando states making her laugh.
"Good. the rest of the drivers will never forgive you for this one."
"Most of them will be at the wedding, I'm sure they're get over it." Lando shrugs then kissing her again. "Are you ok? Feeling ok? You're surprisingly hot for someone who is stood out in the freezing cold."
"Yeah, just...a bit flushed." She nods then clearly her throat. "What now?"
"Well it's media the day after tomorrow so tonight, we celebrate." Lando smiles brightly. "Don't worry, you're going to be glued to my side and we can leave whenever you want."
A/N: I thought I would wrote a little Lando. ❤️ It’s just a little drabble. Feedback is appreciated!
Lando chattered with the team engineers, sporting a sweet smile. He was so excited for qualifying. Since he had finished well over the last few races, he knew a win was so close, he could taste it.
As Lando socialized and absorbed all of the information the engineers were feeding him, you sat in the driver’s seat of his car. Every once in a while, a team member would tweak something on the car, insisting that you didn’t need to move.
Lando turned his attention to you, his gaze lingering as he took in the sight of you in his seat. There was something about you sitting in his car that got him, well, aroused.
“Comfy, baby?” He cooed as he grinned over to you. You nodded, offering a sweet smile in return.
Lando stepped over to you, his tongue flicking over his lips. His eyes devoured every inch of you sitting there, simply lounging where he will be in less than an hour, possibly qualifying on pole. You wiggled your hips a little, causing Lando’s eyes to flutter as a low groan left him.
He leaned over the halo, his face just inches from yours.
“You may be in my seat now, all beautiful and sweet. But later, my face will be your seat.” He reached a hand to your chin, lifting it so your eyes locked. “Alright, princess?”
Your face heated as you nodded, your thighs squeezing together as you processed his words. Your eyelids fluttered as his thumb caressed your jaw line.
“Everyone here thinks your so sweet and innocent, but they don’t know what you sound like when we leave the track. They way you plead and how filthy you sound screaming my name.” You closed your eyes for a second, then snapped them back open, hoping no one was paying attention.
You peered around for a moment as Lando pulled his hand away. A pair of familiar eyes stared widely at you from beside one of the front tires. Oscar stood there, a mixture of shock and disgust of on his face.
“Lando, dude, I don’t think you know how to whisper.” Oscar’s face curled as he tightly folded his arms over his chest.
“Well, you shouldn’t have been listening, bro. It’s not my fault you overheard a private conversation.” Lando chuckled, leaning back before he stood.
“It’s a garage full of people. You can’t exactly have a private conversation,” Oscar retorted. You peered around, hoping no one else on the team was reacting. Much to your relief, no one seemed to have heard you, or at least they weren’t acting like it.
“Well, I guess that means back to work, baby.” He blew you a kiss, then returned back to the team.
You glanced over at Oscar, who was still staring wide-eyed. The poor man looked like a deer in headlights.
“I’m sorry,” you mouthed to him, scrunching into a ball in the McLaren seat. Oscar smiled, then turned to Lando, scrunching his nose. You chuckled as your boyfriend’s teammate headed back to his side of the garage, having learned to not listen in on Lando’s private conversations.
