It was early the next morning that the small feather-weight of the bat against the man’s chest became something much larger indeed, though thankfully whatever it was slipped to the side to end up nestled into the crook of his arm and against his chest.
Gilbert, unwound, lolled slightly; though he retained the pale coloration of the sweet little bat, the lack of proper clothing might be slightly discomforting.
That had been quite the initial shock. Imagine the poor lich, minding his own business, reading, when alerted by a slight ripping noise! A glance down showed- Not a bat. The ‘bat’ was now a.. hmm. Not human, he supposed. Looked like it, though. His initial reaction was to push the.. boy? The boy away, but considering how they were sharing clothing, he’d be out of clothes for a long time. After a moment of studying him, the lich carefully slipped him out- and discovered the keyhole, a bony finger running over it curiously.
Of course, it’s very possible someone would feel bad enough to give him more clothes. Gilbert tends to over-compensate for things like that and certainly would feel ashamed and guilty enough to at least attempt to help somehow.
The paint of some sort of a symbol around the keyhole is worn and faded, as are most of the doll’s body details and paints. The only moderately kept up with portion is his face and even that looks older than being cared for would allow.
There is a weak mumble as something shifts inside the boy and turns itself on.
"…Hullo?"
"Ah- Hello?" This is great, he's not had a good shock in a while! kind of hard, when there's.. no adrenaline to pump through ones body. He lightly pats the other's head, and makes a noise akin to clearing one's throat. The boy is naked, and, not a human, and while he's not had visitors in a while, he's more concerned about nudity than a conversation. Really, he's just trying to be nice, and so he slips his cloak off, and curls it around the boy's shoulders. If he tilts his head just so, he can tell that there is some sort of opening on the kid's chest, so he must assume that this is some sort of robot, or something. At the most, he's only really good with switches, and so he supposes this is very far out of his reach.
