Step 6: Determine how you will use the playlist (e.g. Listen to it while going for a walk, party playlist,...) and put it in the playlist descriptions!

My favorite alts of PJSK characters and why

Starting with Mizuki and going in reverse-default order because I dislike Ichivocal and am procrastinating her till last

Mizuki:

It Was a Very Nice June

I don't usually like Mizuki's softer/slower alts, but ToSu na RoDe it weirdly melancholic in a way that's unusually nice. It doesn't sound like the "boredom" in other slow alts of hers. SatoHinasan and the song somehow gave Mizuki intensity in the midst of her bugging down state in this song, and I think that's a great accomplishment, so it's very impressionable upon me.

Runner up: SlowDowner

SlowDowner is really intense and a nice touch among N25's more "helpless" feel. I mean, I had many choices: Envy Baby, God-ish, Venom, Usseewa, but none really brought out the despair in between the intensity; henceforth those kind of just feel like Mizuki's rage songs.

Ena:

Cute na Kanojo

After listening to what would be all of cover songs Enanan alts, I now understand what got the fandom drawing Akito as this depressed mf because his sister outshines him in smth she doesn't even gaf abt as much as art. They are the perfect mix between gentle and solid. If what I look for in Mizuki is melancholy, then what I look for and find in Ena is frustration. Her voice beautifully captures the emotion. Uhm, as for the reason why I chose Cute na Kanojo it's because she sounds cute in here. It's a fresh listen, because she sounds playful and childish in this song.

Runner ups: DSCF vs Sorega anata no shiawase to shitemo vs Lost Umbrella

These are the songs where Ena could showcase both the delicate and powerful sides of her vocals, which is really important to me since, as a fan-dub follower, most dubs butcher Enanan down to Saki, and then everybody forgets what Saki really sounds like. Also because these songs are peak as fuck.

I could go on a generational rant how the pjsk fandom (*cough* ☕️ oshis) constantly places their characters on pedestals by spamming unfunny and degrading jokes at the expense of other characters (🥞) just to hype up their mid ass oshi.

It’s fucking sickening to hear people run Akito’s name through the mud by making fun of his every move, every card, every costume—I don’t fucking care if it’s a “joke” if your only type of humor is demeaning characters for no other reason then I do not trust you. Yet the MOMENT I do a mildly similar thing to another character (☕️) suddenly I have to get lectured on: “Erm character bashing is actually not okay 🥺” actually shut the fuck up you fucking hypocrite.

Toya was just as bad if not worse than Akito in the main story. If the writers put in an effort to actually show Akito’s side as well people wouldn’t be so quick to jump on the Akito hate train.

Imagine just one random day your supposed to”best friend” starts to berate you for your dream, spouting the same shit that other musicians have been degrading you for the past several years and have resulted in all your insecurities—Toya is lucky as hell Akito only left him with a punch because that fucking piece of shit would be dead by the next day.

Hot take: Akito is a very under appreciated character because half the time you have people who only treat him like a low-hanging fruit joke like this fucking video or supposed “oshis” that are so blinded by their ships that they reduce akito to his relationships, treating him as if he’s helpless or even useless without other people’s comfort, and essentially forgetting that he is still his own person

I cannot stress enough how this video has done IRREPARABLE damage to Akito’s perception in the fandom all because of some garbage bollocks spat out by some insane stretches. No, I don’t fucking care that it’s a joke—it isn’t funny, it doesn’t make sense, and it trivializes a very serious event all for views and clicks (seriously the way you guys genuinely treat mizu5 as a joke PISSES me off).

And EVERY TIME it’s brought up you fucking guys says “bruh it’s a joke” “lmao akito fans can’t take a joke” dude if the joke isn’t funny I’M NOT GONNA LAUGH. Even worse you guys run that shit through the roof until it’s a decomposing horse and berating other Akito fans in their comment section when it is entirely unwarranted.

Plus you’re reinforcing Akito’s “asshole” stereotype that has actually plagued his characterization because everyone and their mother literally demonizes him and acts like he’s the most unforgivable character in the game when literally EVERYONE in the game has flaws (yes even your fucking supposed good boy t*ya he was a fucking ass in the main story).

I’m just so tired of this fandom. You guys seriously cannot read properly even if your life depended on it. The day Akito is treated like an actual three-dimensional character with development, personality, strengths, weaknesses, flaws, talent, skill, and intelligence is the day I die.

Dropping this here b/c I consider this a safe place and God forbid me from expressing an opinion about Mizuki in any other part of the fandom:

The truth is, when I first heard from the JP-server players that Mizuki was confirmed to be a trans woman, my first feeling is dread. Dread, not because I'm transphobic or secretly transphobic or transphobic-in-denial, but because by finalizing Mizuki's gender, SEGA would be narrowing down her representation of non-binary or non-cis individuals in general into just a representation of transgender women, which I would consider a downgrade since that means other genders aside from transfem is being pushed to the side.

Dread, also because then Mizuki would be even more widely known as "the transgender girl" and not just Mizuki, a troubled teen who just wants to live true to her heart and fit in at the same time. The aggressive, exaggerated movement to force the "correct" usage of her pronouns overtake analyses about Mizuki as a human being and flattens her character considerably. Not only that, it divides the fandom, and good guys with inquisitive hearts are driven out of the fanbase because of the intensity of the Decide-Mizuki's-correct-pronouns movements for suggesting other possibilities of Mizuki's gender, such as cis-fem Mizuki bullied for her obsession with traditionally feminine things, or Mizuki being isolated because she was too different from other girls in terms of appearance, pronouns, identity,...

All I can say is, why are we giving Mizuki special treatment because she's trans? Just treat her like you would any other girl. Please normalize not making her entire personality about being transgender.

Dearest, kindly do reread the longer paragraph in my orgininal post. It never is too early to show restraint; anger distorts your view of objectively perfectly normal things. There is no need to escalate this further by merely focusing on my opinion on Mizuki's pronouns.

The larger part of my opinion post is about how Mizuki is pressed into a frame of "she is a trans girl and we must protect her because she is a trans girl; anybody who doesn't agree exactly that she is trans or even if they do agree but is still open-minded about other possibilities is transphobic." Any discussion regarding takes on her gender in that paragraph is merely examples I've collected from wide parts of the fandom; to shoot me down because of them is to shoot down the messenger.

Do help yourself to a glass of cool water and we can continue the discussion however you please to take it. I'm always here for backlash. Or if I so dim your mood so much, you could demand an apology that I'd gladly give and retire from the talk.
