“The consciousness in you and the consciousness in me, apparently two, really one, seek unity and that is love.”
— Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
“One day you’ll have whatever it is you’re now so confusedly seeking. That kind of calm that comes from knowing oneself and others. But you can’t rush the arrival of that state of mind. There are things you only learn when no one teaches them. And that’s how it is with life. There’s even more beauty in discovering it for yourself, in spite of the suffering. Sensitive people are both unhappier and happier than others. But give it some time.” —Clarice Lispector #NoteToSelf ⭐️ artwork by @elesq https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm_woRdhCoM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=jmp8vov46p1k

bedtime story: • A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?” • Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz. • She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.” • She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.” • Remember to put the glass down. • —Jimmy Harmon • artwork by Jessica Rimondi

“The cognitive dissonance caused by a society that tells its children to ‘follow their dreams’ through messages in films, literature, etc. and then punishes them for not choosing safe, money-making careers in adulthood is fascinating, to say the least.” —Unknown 🔥 art by Avogado6
Yesterday my dad told me something that I think maybe more people need to hear.
You’re allowed to just do things for fun.
He told me that in this modern society, especially the United States, we seem to have this attitude that we shouldn’t do something unless we’re aiming to be the best at it. If we can’t sing like Beyonce or Frank Sinatra or something there’s no point to singing. If we can’t make the next big breakthrough there’s no point in looking into mechanics and engineering.
But, he tells me, it took him a long time to figure out that life doesn’t have to be a race. If you want to take up the piano when you’re a teenager or later you’re not going to master it. You’re not going to be able to play to huge concert halls, but that also shouldn’t stop you. You can study a language out of curiosity and then drop the ball if you want. You can just get okay at something or even be terrible at it. You can drop it for days or years and then pick it up again and it doesn’t have to be a shameful thing.
I’m really glad he told me that because today I opened my sketchpad for the first time in months and just started drawing. And it looks terrible. But I don’t care. I don’t have the talent or patience or spacial awareness to get anywhere near good at drawing, but it’s fun. It helps me focus my mind and nobody has to see it.
And because of what he told me, I’m thinking maybe someday soon I will take up the bass guitar. And I won’t worry about how well I do, or how fast I learn, or that I haven’t played an instrument since sixth grade, or that I don’t have that much time to practice. I’m just gonna enjoy the experience. Maybe I’ll try swing dancing again and take a class because I’m not the best dancer but damn if it isn’t fun.
Yeah, you don’t have to be good at things. It’s not a requirement. Maybe that seems obvious but it had never occurred to me before. You’re allowed to just enjoy what you’re doing. For me, that feels like a life changing revelation. I don’t have to be good at something to like it. I don’t have to put 100% effort into everything I do. It’s kind of amazing.
“Shoutout to everyone making progress that no one recognized because you never let anyone see your darkest moments. You’ve been silently battling, winning and transforming yourself. Be proud of every little step you’re making in the right direction. Keep going. You got this ✨” —HERTweetx ⭐️ artwork by RW Harrison
“Right now you might be in a situation that you think you won’t survive, but six months ago you were in a situation you didn’t think you’d survive and two years before that you were in a situation you didn’t think you’d survive and the point is you will always surprise yourself and you will always make it though.” —Anon #NoteToSelf 💫 artwork by @VictorMosquera

Woo Ji Ho- ENTP A look into Korea’s very own hip hop prodigy
Extroverted Intuitive Thinking Perceiving
ENTPs are inspired innovators, motivated to find new solutions to intellectually challenging problems. They are curious and clever, and seek to comprehend the people, systems, and principles that surround them. Open-minded and unconventional, Visionaries want to analyze, understand, and influence other people. ENTPs enjoy playing with ideas and especially like to banter with others. They use their quick wit and command of language to keep the upper hand with other people, often cheerfully poking fun at their habits and eccentricities. While the ENTP enjoys challenging others, in the end they are usually happy to live and let live. They are rarely judgmental, but they may have little patience for people who can’t keep up. Their like the artful dodgers of the mbti world, fun clever, inventive and light on their feet.
Breaking it down: Extroverted intuition. Zico’s leading dominant function is extroverted intuition, meaning most of his decision making is based entirely on his axis of interest. The world of the Ne dom is a world full of possibilities. Ne users are naturally curious and imaginitive. The Ne user is always striving for growth or improvement. Ne can give them a sense of idealism and the desire to want to impact the world. Ne also has the ability to make obscure connections. The Ne user can take two seemingly unrelated topics and bring them together. This can also cause the user to have an off-beat sense of humor. What makes something interesting to the Ne user? A new situation, a new set of people, a new way of looking at old things, or novel or unusual information. There has to be some special quality in the information, situation, or people that creates an open-ended, high-potential situation that engages and energizes the mind. When engrossed in their dominant function, ENTPs are not highly intentional or agenda-driven (their only agenda might be one of avoiding boredom). Hence, they may not be as consciously driven or obsessed with hammering down truth as their introverted counterpart- the INTP. Nonetheless, many ENTPs, especially those who have developed their auxiliary function, Introverted Thinking (Ti), come to recognize their penchant for philosophizing. Like INTPs, they enjoy exploring unifying patterns and broad metaphysical speculations. Despite these propensities, they seem less apt to develop an exclusive focus on intellectual pursuits. As Extroverts, they can be reluctant to focus on any singular pursuit, preferring to distribute their energies across different hobbies and interests. Zico is often regarded as an artist, someone with his own zesty creative vision and he is constantly reinventing himself and the rest of Block B through trying out new songs, concepts exc. He’s always adding something slightly different or something totally original to his songs and in interviews Zico can quickly hop from topic to topic much in the way of Ne and he carries both the vivacious energy of an extrovert as well as the curios idea- seeking of an intuitive.
Introverted Thinking: The ENTP’s auxiliary function is introverted thinking. Ti seeks precision, such as the exact word to express an idea. It notices the minute distinctions that define the essence of things, then analyzes and classifies them. Ti users examine all sides of an issue, looking to solve problems while minimizing effort and risk. It uses models to root out logical inconsistency. In the ENTP, Ti analyzes the constant stream of information that dominant Ne provides. Ti develops structure and reconciles any inconsistencies in the ENTP’s belief system. However, Ti cannot match the activity of Ne, which leads the ENTP to juggle multiple projects and theoretical enterprises at any given time, in various stages of completion. Introverted thinking leaves it’s users with a deeply ingrained mechanical mindset; ENTPs can often be found taking things apart in order to see how they work, their the kids that took apart pens in the back of the class simply to put them back together again. When extroverted intuition is combined with introverted thinking, it makes for one hell of an inventor. This unstoppable combination leaves most amazed by the intelligence of the ENTP. When Zico is composing a song, he would more likely think of it in parts, every aspect of the song would be thoroughly thought through and there would be some sort of strategic aspect to every artistic choice. ENTPs may seem fun-loving and chaotic on the outside, but on the inside their mind is like a well- oiled machine; constantly processing new ideas and categorizing them in a vast logic- based system.
Extroverted feeling: Zico’s tertiary function is extroverted feeling, Fe seeks social connections and creates harmonious interactions through polite, considerate, and appropriate behavior. Fe responds to the explicit (and implicit) wants of others, and may even create an internal conflict between the subject’s own needs and the desire to meet the needs of others. When Fe is well developed, the ENTP can foster goodwill in others, and can be seen as quite charming and loyal. When it is not well developed, the ENTP can seem aloof and unconcerned with other people’s feelings. In most ENTPs, weakness of the tertiary function can be observed in their inconsistency or lack of endurance as well as a slight lack of empathy. Though regarded as great friends, a major pitfall of the ENTP is that they can easily offend and be insensitive at points simply because they aren’t tied down to a strict Fi- like code of ethics. Since their feeling function is so low on their list, they can sometimes seem detached from their emotions and it is often harder for them to understand when they’ve hurt someone, since it’s often hard to offend an ENTP. ENTPs aren’t always the best at reading people and situations, they sometimes don’t know how to behave in delicate environments and this was apparent during Block B’s Thailand scandal in which Zico disastrously misread the situation. Zico has also garnered criticism for less- then- socially conscious lyrics (see Tough Cookie.) During Zico’s hashtag interview for “Well Done”, he talks about how he he rarely cries and when he does, he does it in privacy. Also during Weekly Idol, he talked about how he felt uncomfortable whenever complimented. That’s just not how the ENTP rolls. It’s not that they are unfeeling, it’s just that it takes a lot to ruffle the feathers of the ENTP.
Introverted sensing: Zico’s inferior function is introverted sensing. Si collects data in the present moment and compares it with past experiences, a process that sometimes evokes the feelings associated with memory, as if the subject were reliving it. Seeking to protect what is familiar, Si draws upon history to form goals and expectations about what will happen in the future. Si offsets the ENTP’s natural tendency toward anarchy and non-conformity. It acts as a sort of gravitational pull that keeps the ENTP in orbit around reality. Without this function, the ENTP can be seen as unpredictable and random, but when it is well developed, the ENTP is seen as orderly and understandable. Since sensing is his inferior function, you won’t see much of it.
Perceiving vs Judging: I’ve seen Zico typed as an ENTJ in the past, and though that isn’t an unreasonable assumption due to his leadership skills and his take- charge attitude (if you watch his episode of the 4 things show, he seems to want to control the direction of the show) I personally opt to classify him as an ENTP with slight uncharacteristic perfectionist tendencies. Zico lacks the characteristic love for order and authority that ENTJs possess. Perceivers perceive structure as being more limiting than enabling and get their sense of control from keeping options open and only making decisions when absolutely necessary. I feel like this fits Zico’s free spirited egalitarian approach to work and life. Zico is the kind of person who’ll acknowledge differences in people and still be able to work with them. Percievers are adaptable and flexible, making Zico very easy to work with and cooperative. The major pitfall of the perciever is indecision and inability to greet deadlines.( Zico’s struggle with this can be found in MTV matchup.)
Overall: The world inside this young composing genius’ head is far too complex to be properly explained; correlating with the intricate ENTP personality. Zico is clever, quick- witted, charming, inventive, innovative, ingenious, imaginative, can take on any debate, strong- willed, has an edgy sense of humor, playful, loyal, forward- thinking, honest and above all else a shit ton of fun to be around. He’s the kind of friend who’ll disappear for months because he is just so passionate about doing what he loves but then he’ll return to you and make you laugh in the first ten seconds upon arrival. He leads Block B with bold audacity and couldn’t care two shits what anyone has to say about him. This is why he does such a good job of balancing both the underground and overground- that, and the fact that he is a total hip hop prodigy.
