Carmen Maria Machado, In the Dream House
L. V., excerpts from a past life
im all for the undying, obssessive and deeply maddening love.
but i also believe in everyday love. not every love is going to consume you like a great bonfire. we are not always going to be eaten by the funeral pyre.
some loves are just candles. some are even scented with the season they lasted for! and they only lasted a season!
not every person that comes into my life is going to be that all consuming love. and the little candle i hold for them still warms me!
my heart is a church steeple to devotion and it is covered in melted wax! the warm votives are prayers of keeping the flames alight. and they are there for me!
the love i once found so all consuming has become a candle on the altar! it is still alive but now it warms instead of burns and how wonderful!
everyday love is beautiful and the walls dance in its light.
a sad lonely little girl
grows up to be a desperate, manic man.
a tale as old as time.
honey drips from my lips in efforts to be kissed by flies
bright turtleneck sweaters and flowery perfume to attract fuzzy bees
If i cannot be loved by him i will be loved by the unloved themselves
they will teach me their ways of being content with their work and their life
to buzz around in search of hope
and upon finding none to go out and search some more
what am i searching for
just love? a little faith?
a warm bed and a soft heart
a lonely little girl plays with her dolls and dreams of a married life
a sad woman dreams of a different name that dosent constrict his chest
their dreams are one and the same.
a different life in a different place where all the people are kind
thats all it is
a soft landing
someone to call his own.
he's just learning that the one to call is himself
Im in a glass house digging up stones
Fossils of us
that I should not throw
I heard that people dont change
they grow
So Im taking good care
of your dinosaur bones
Glass House, Joe P
yeah yeah we’ve all destroyed and betrayed ourselves for nothing around here you’re not special
let me take a bite of that lemon
and chase it with honey
thats what talking to you is like
all electric and bright and sour
followed by warm sugar and a coating to my throat
Honey you're familiar
Like my mirror years ago
I slithered here from eden
Just to hide outside your door

cold brew time~
gently guiding my brain out of a full blown spiral like i would a lost child who is looking for their parent
When you finally let go and find yourself in this world
