âAh.â That explained it. That last name was much too unusual on its own.
Itachi paused briefly when she mentioned his family; it was not a subject that he usually discussed with others. He had always kept his as well as everyone elseâs affairs private.
âI suppose you can say that,â he eventually said modestly. âMy family has been here for awhile and theyâve made a few friends in the process. Word of mouth spreads.â
Seraphina may have spent more time with books than people as a researcher, but she could definitely tell when someone didnât want to talk about something. And for her new companion, it looked like his family was that something. âYou must know all the best short cuts and the best restaurants and cafes, away from all of the really famous tourist trap ones.â She said smoothly, trying to take the pressure off of him. âLike Suzu, for instance!â
âWhat do you think youâre going to have? Iâm excited to see their menu. I hope they have some nice tea, as well, my Tou-san cultivated a healthy love of tea in me and I love drinking it this late at night. Usually I go for coffee, but itâs too late for that kind of caffeine for me.â She chuckled a bit to herself, trying to keep the conversation light.
a night time stroll.
@koredesaigoda
Understanding the pause, Itachi merely returned her smile with a polite one of his own. They were strangers; there was no need for them to divulge information about themselves to the other. At least, not more than what was necessary.
âOf course not,â he said.
He then extended his hand to her, accepting her own in a brief hand shake.
âUchiha Itachi,â he introduced himself, before quietly releasing his grasp. âSeraphina, ah? That is a unique name you have there. Mixed ancestry?â Overgaard-Mirikitani certainly wasnât a common surname in this country. In fact, he almost did not catch it. âIn any case, itâs a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
âShall we continue on our way? Suzu is quite close.â
âSort of - my mother and I moved here after my father, ah, passed away. She re-married a wonderful man from here and he adopted me. So we changed our last names to make a new family.â Seraphina smiled fondly at the thought of her parents and siblings.Â
She nodded along and let him start to lead the way towards Suzu. âItâs a pleasure to meet you as well. I think Iâve heard the name Uchiha before, your family is quite well respected here, isnât it?â
"Visiting" The Lord of the Dead ||Seraphina and Angeal||
@whitewingedangeal
Angeal nodded quietly to her words, listening, the god of death unperturbed by the refusal of his invitation. âWell you will always be welcome to study, here, there is much knowledge and wisdom in my kingdom that doesnât often see itself in the world of the living. It could use the touch of its goddess as well,â he said smoothly, implacable and unobtrusive.
He waited while she studied, and when she pointed to the scroll, he was suddenly leaning over her to observe; without having bothered to walk there, he simply moved. And then smiled as she had to look up less than expected. Death studied carefully, before nodding.
âIt would require less of my strength to maintain, and be stronger, you are right. I think too much of walls sometimes, a sphere is just the thing. And with your assistance, the texture of it, the feel of it, will be sufficiently different so theyâll have to spend a few more thousand years learning how to get their teeth in it. I suppose theyâll turn back to whispering at me for a while, like they used to,â he sighed, remembering. They knew how much duty meant to him, and titans or not, they were family. He owed them that, and denied them for his other duties. It was a hard thing, he smiled minutely. âBut I expected that regardless.â
âThatâs very kind of you to offer, I look forward to see what sorts of thoughts form in such a tranquil place like this.â Seraphina nodded. It was soothing, really in its own way. The Underworld lacked the fast paced drama and hot blooded energy of the living. It was the perfect place to dive into a large tome and spend hours quietly contemplating its contents.
âWhat did they whisper to you?â Wisdom asked, blinking in confusion. âIf youâd like, I could rework this to allow for a sound barrier to be built in, it might take a few days but Iâm fairly certain I would be able to pull it off. What do you think?â
Itâs always Christmas in my winter wonderland. â

The blonde scientist nodded in agreement and began to walk with him, it was quite late after all. âYouâre right,â she replied smoothly. âI wasnât born here; I was born in Scandinavia. But we moved here when I was really little so this is my second home. Plus, my Tou-san is from here!â She smiled fondly at the thought of her step-father. âWhich explains the name.â It was hardly a complete history, but that wasnât what her companion had asked for.
âWhat about you?â Seraphina asked, keeping the conversation going. âDid you grow up in this town or did your work take you away from home? I imagine youâve lived around here for a while, since you know the restaurants so well.â She was happy to have a distraction from the stress of her work.

"No Doc, I'd rather be the one to give the injections" *winks*
Seraphina covered her mouth to hide a wide grin. This was an interesting side of Madara. âIs that so?â She dropped her hand, playing along, âWho taught you how to give injections?

đ: Feels attracted to them, but canât work out if itâs platonic, sexual, or romantic attraction theyâre feeling.
đ: Is intimidated by them, but wants to be friends with them.
âIâm attractive and dangerous of course youâd feel that wayâÂ
Seraphina narrowed her eyes at him, âSomehow I keep forgetting how arrogant you are. I find that to be a feat.â Maybe I should just try and sleep with him and see which type of attraction it is. The blonde entertained that thought briefly before letting it float away. Thatâs probably impossible anyways.

    Prompto knew that his clique could handle the creature -they had been in numerous battles, some easy and some tough, and managed to make it out alive. Sure, they sported a few wounds in those tougher battles, but here he was, seated and eating dinner with a nice lady. Hey, maybe luck was actually on his side today, and by the way Seraphina worded her sentence it sounded like he had a chance for a second date.
               â Thanks for the advice. Itâs like                you knew what I had in mind. â
He chuckled slightly, taking a sip of the water that he had in hand. After all, Prompto lived for the thrill of life, always seeming to seek out the danger. It was almost as if danger sought him out, in fact, but he didnât mind so long as he came out of it alive and unharmed, for the most part.
               â If youâre good enough to keep yourself alive,                I could always invite you to come with me                to fight this snake. Nothing wrong with a                little bit of dangerous fun, is there? â
âOh.â Seraphinaâs lips made a round âOâ in surprise at his offer, cheeks coloring pink at being caught off guard. Not what she was expecting. The blonde looked down and shifted the napkin in her lap, trying to come up with an answer and suppress the panic clawing its way up her throat, prevent the memories of a nasty accident from her past from appearing. âI'm afraid I will need to. . . pass on your offer.â The scientist said slowly. âThe marshes where one would find the Midgar Zolom is a long drive away from where I live and my boss has. . . high expectations of when he should be able to reach us to work in the lab and put in over time.â She paused, âTo put it nicely.â
âHowever,â she offered earnestly, âI can help you find the best path to get to the marshlands and check over your med kit, if youâd like? Also, Iâm a fairly decent medic myself, so if anyone needs help I can take care of them afterwards.â
You Look Familiar Somehow⌠||Seraphina and Cloud||
@crossdressingcadet
Cloudâs cheeks colored a reddish pink, as if to match his companionâs. âIâd like to see you again as well, though⌠not too sure about the sleepover. Letâs just leave it open and see how the night goes? And decide right then? Though Iâm not against it, just⌠unsure. Iâve only had one sleepover in my whole life, to be perfectly honest.â
Seraphina nodded in understanding; she didnât want to push too far, too fast. Hopefully, Cloud wasnât saying that in as a soft no and they would be able to meet up again soon.Â
âThe first sleepover I ever had was a disaster. I had a nightmare and woke up crying and had to be taken home. I was nine years old.â The blonde chuckled fondly at the memory. âSleepovers are quite a beast, Iâve learned since then. Drama and politics abound.â She didnât want to press about the low number of sleep overs or what happened, but wanted to steer the topic in a safer direction.
"Visiting" The Lord of the Dead ||Seraphina and Angeal||
@whitewingedangeal
âYouâll be welcome here, forever, I hope you know. It wouldnât be a bad place, for Wisdom to hold court on occasion. If she was so inclined,â Death suggested softly, his voice heavy and tentative in the massive room.
As he watched her, he couldnât help but smile gently. Her genuine fascination with the relics of his realm was endearing. âThere is indeed,â he nodded, gesturing behind her, where there was suddenly a steady table of obsidian, and two chairs grown of his will. âI believe the two of us will be more than satisfactory. We shall keep them caged, and quiet. Give me a little time to breathe,â he added, with a quirked lip.
âI couldnât hold court here, I have far too much to learn - I wouldnât want to waste my time entertaining others here. Knowledge is most important. I do appreciate your gracious invitation, however.â Seraphina said quietly as she arranged her notes on the sturdy table, completely unperturbed by its sudden appearance. The rest of the library faded from her vision as her focus honed in on the plans in front of her. Even Angeal, God of Death and, informally, mystery, blurred at the edges of her peripheral vision.
âI propose that we use a circular pattern to encase the Titans instead of the cube based pattern we were using before. Corners are structural weaknesses that they may be able to exploit those weaknesses to break free.â She pointed out the notes on the scroll in front of her, detailing possible scenarios that could break the cube barriers. âSpheres are much more structurally sound because there are not places where pressure is focused, like corners. In spheres, the pressure is distributed amongst the entire surface so there is no specific point of weakness for the Titans to exploit. What do you think?â She looked up finally, grey eyes taking in the man before her, waiting patiently for his answer. Wisdom would need his magic as well for this to work, so his support was crucial.

@flurriies what did you do?
a night time stroll.
@koredesaigoda
âOh?â He raised an eyebrow. âI do hope that youâre feeling better then?â
Thinking, Itachi glanced at the signboard of the street that they were on, recalling the names of still open restaurants and cafes in their immediate vicinity. Aside from the expected fast food places (not his preferred menu, but it would have to do if there really was nothing else), there was also⌠Ah.
âWell, there is a quaint cafe that opens till late. Itâs called Suzu Coffeehouse, and I was just thinking of going there myself. They serve a selection of pies, salads and sandwiches that might be to your liking.â There were other dishes as well, but those were among the highlights. âPasta too, now that I think about it.â
She faltered, blinking for a moment, unsure of how to reply. On one hand, she was no longer on the verge of a panic attack because of how much stress she put on herself sometimes, but she wasnât really feeling better by any means. She still needed to make a breakthrough, still needed to bring her technology to the people who desperately needed it. Because if she didnât, then who  would? But that wasnât exactly âI-donât-even-know-your-name-Iâm-asking-to-be-politeâ conversation. âIâm okay,â Seraphina finally replied carefully. âI appreciate you asking.â The scientist smiled prettily, trying to reassure him.
Her stomach growled loudly again, and the scientist nearly hushed it, blushing at the volume. âThat sounds perfect, honestly. Would you mind if I joined you?â She paused, offering her hand in introduction, âOh, and, my nameâs Seraphina. Seraphina Overgaard-Mirikitani.â
"Visiting" The Lord of the Dead ||Seraphina and Angeal||
@whitewingedangeal
Her unease was pleasing, even if causing it might perhaps have been reckless. Death did not take well to needing others, to needing anything. Need itself wasnât something that Angeal was used to, and that he was under necessityâs needle rankled him; despite how easy it was for him to turn it to his advantage. To obtain what he wanted.
And what he wanted was Wisdom.
The god wasnât so unsubtle as to stare at her with his eyes as they walked to the library. Instead he stared out of the walls, out of the skin of the pomegranate in his hands, out of the quiet and the air, he examined her. Maybe having her here, keeping her here, in all her composure, would be more pleasing than just her usefuless in binding titans.
âI always do,â he said mildly, pushing open a pair of giant obsidian doors to reveal the warmly lit (and massive) chamber holding the spectral scrolls and desiccated tomes that made up the library of the Dead. âI am the destination of all things, after all. All ways, lead to me. And all knowledge is mine, once it passes through your fingers, beautiful Wisdom.â
âThis is amazing,â Wisdom breathed, slowly stepping forward into the cavernous room. âYou shouldnât have showed me this, I could stay here forever just reading and learning more. The world has given you so many amazing thinkers; I could spend hours just reading and absorbing all of the information in here.âÂ
Seraphina took a moment to browse briefly through the tomes nearest to her, handling everything delicately and making note of some particularly interesting pieces. âBut, I believe it to be most prudent if we review the plan for binding the titans. Is there perhaps a table where I can show you my notes?â Using her magic, she summoned the scrolls detailing her plan and held them in her arms. âWith both of us performing it, I believe we should be safe from the titans breaking free for many years to come.â
Seraphina grinned at her boyfriend, perching on the corner of his desk as she visited during a brief coffee break. "I heard a rumor that you were really good in bed. Care to confirm or deny?"
Angeal nearly choked on his tea, his cheeks going utterly red as he sputtered at the unexpected comment, setting his cup down and half glaring at his girlfriend as he tried to compose himself. âSeeing as Iâve never slept with myself, I suppose youâd be the one to know, wouldnât you?â he asked, an attempt to be arch that mostly fell squarely into being sheepish.
Seraphina laughed loudly at her boyfriendâs reaction, clapping her hands in delight. Goddess, the man was so fun to torment like this. âI see what you did there,â she teased with an impish grin, tapping him on the nose fondly. âI am the the one who would know, but Iâm curious to hear what you think. So you wonât get my answer until you give me yours first.â She took a sip of coffee and shifted a bit, making herself more comfortable on the desk. The scientist wasnât going anywhere until she got her answer.
