I just learned that Nicholas Brendon, who played Kevin Lynch on Criminal Minds, passed away today. I liked Kevin, he was a good match for Garcia, even though it didn't last, and despite their end he was an interesting character to watch develop.
Wishing comfort to his family and friends, and may he rest in peace.
Sorry for being kind of a ghost, December's a really busy time of year for me. I'm gonna take a break from posting at least until January, I'll probably still be a little active otherwise but no new fanart or fics for a lil while. Thank you so much, happy holidays everyone!

Really proud of this one, made it for a fantasy au fic idea I had months ago that I haven't finished. A snippet of an unpublished chapter one below, timeline matches up with season 6. lmk what you think!
âIt feels weird,â Penelope remarked.
âWithout JJ?â Emily asked in clarification as she sat down on her dandelion-stuffed couch, handing a mug to her companion, to which Penelope nodded.
âHave you heard from her recently?â the mage asked, instantly relaxing as she sipped her tea.
âNo,â Emily shook her head, âunfortunately not. But I believe that Spencer has been in contact with her. You should talk to him.â
âI will.â
The pair sipped quietly at their drinks in companionable silence. The both of them were tired, Penelope because sheâd been pulling double duty, taking on many of JJâs old responsibilities, and Emily because, ever since their friendâs departure, the dragons just seemed to get bigger and badder, leaving the knights on the move constantly for nearly the entirety of the past lunar cycle.
Emily fiddled with a loose thread on the armrest of her couch. The piece of furniture had been around for about five years; sheâd gotten it when she joined the Round Table and moved to the capitol. It was immensely soft, filled with dandelion fluff and charmed so as those who sat upon it would dream well that night, something she needed many of her evenings home. The flowered design also worked well with the other decorations littering the area, giving off a vague fairy-garden feeling. Despite her hard exterior, it comforted Emily to return to soft pillows and pastel colors after battling dragons each and every day.
âHowâs the team?â Penelope asked suddenly, refilling her cup. âIâve barely talked to any of them recently.â
âWeâre good, I think,â replied Emily, not realizing her tea had gone cold whilst she was lost in her thoughts. âI suspect that the others are nervous about His Majestyâs Autumn Affair. I donât know if weâll even be in town for it at the rate monsters are popping up, my, nearly every sunrise.â
Penelopeâs eyebrows shot up.
âYou have to be in town! I cannot deal with all of those aristocrats on my own and you know that, Prentiss!â
Emily chuckled at her friendâs distress. Being the daughter of a diplomat, she knew how to navigate balls and events far better than most of the teamâpossibly even their leader, Sir Aaron Hotchner. Penelope didnât tend to enjoy being around most posh people, and usually leaned on the expertise of one of the other ladies or Sir Derek.
âIâm not kidding!â Penelope exclaimed. âThe Kingâs Autumn Affair is the biggest ball of the entire year! I cannot say something stupid and get myself fired!â
âYes, because youâre so replaceable,â Emily muttered sarcastically, ignoring her friendâs side-eye. âLook, Penny, youâve been to plenty of these events and to the Affair enough times to know what to do if youâre entirely alone, but we will do our very best to get thereâon timeâalright?â
âOkay,â Penelope muttered dejectedly, but slightlyâslightlyâmore okay with the potential situation, and Emily couldnât blame her.
If anyone's interested I have a fanfiction net account where I write a lot about Reid and Prentiss (as well as a few multifandom things). I had a popular-ish (? maybe? I'm not a good judge of these thing haha) Reid fic called Left in a Basket earlier this year that I had a lot of fun with and could maybe be persuaded to continue ;) Anyways, check it out if you want, thanks.

You know that game, "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon?" Yeah, I'm pretty sure you can do that with Criminal Minds.
For example: Kevin Bacon was in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special with Chris Pratt, who played Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation. His on-screen wife, April Ludgate, was played by Aubrey Plaza, who not only played Beth in Life After Beth and costarred in that with Matthew Gray Gubler (Dr. Spencer Reid in Criminal Minds), but she was on CM herself, playing hit-woman Catherine "Cat" Adams in four episodes.
Only 2-3 degrees of separation right there. Give me a challenge.
