Tristan had decided to explore the complex a bit more thoroughly than he had during his virtual tour. He had barely been here a month, so one couldn’t entirely fault him for not seeing all the complex had to offer. He had frequented the gym, but he hadn’t made his acquaintance with the more social areas of the apartment. Between work, setting up his apartment, and trying to find meetups to find friends, Tristan had almost neglected to make himself get out to see what the apartment had: both in amenities and the other occupants.
He thought nothing of it as he entered the elevator and saw the floor he wanted already pressed. It would have taken him a while to notice if the woman with him hadn’t pointed it out. His brown swept over all the lighted buttons. He couldn’t help but laugh. “Misery does love company,” he mused, a slight tease in his voice. “Although, some newer elevators have a deactivation option if you hit the button again. Wonder if this one does.”
"Tell me about it,” Joanna agreed with a click of her tongue, glaring at the lit-up buttons. Wasn’t enough that the brat had to press one button unnecessarily, he just had to press all of them. Joanna didn’t think much would come from the interaction but the man beside her spoke again and what he said peaked her interest. “Oh dude, forreal?” She asked, her body turned slightly to him now with her brows raised. If that was the case, Joanna took a stab at it. Literally. Taking the pointer finger of her right hand and giving it a firm jab to see if it would cancel out. And... to no such luck. The woman frowned at the still lit-up buttons. “Well, it was worth a shot, right?” Her shoulders lifted and sunk in a shrug. “I’m Joanna by the way.” She introduced herself with an extension of her hand, seeing as they’d be stuck together for some time ( at least longer than it normally took to get to the first floor ). “But call me Jo. Everyone does.”
