CHARATHER CARDS - HENRY

Henry! Originally a sickly engines named "Atlantic" whom was used to scam Sir Hatt I, Henry (He was later called) had to use special Welsh Coal in order to steam better, however after his big accident in 1935, he was sent away to Crewe "A Fine Place for Sick Engines" where he re-emerged as a sort of Hybrid, still adorning his original boiler, however now with a new and stronger shape. Henry could now steam properly and even could give the railway's main express engine a run for their money! However, he preferers to stick to what he knows, Heavy Goods and the Flying Kipper, where he truly feels like he is in his element. In addition to this, he has a love of nature, the reason for this was that while in his original shape, henry used to find an old siding in the Crosby Forest, where he would rest and appreciate the sounds of nature, this carried into his newer shape and lead to the forest thus being known as Henry's Forest.

CHARATHER CARDS - EDWARD

Edward or as the workman call him [Luoc Sodoris Lux] (Light of Sodor) is the number 2 engine on the NWR, he may be old fashioned but that doesn't stop him from being useful! Originally loaned from the neighbouring Furness Railway, the Larger Seagull was later sold to the NWR due to his "Shy Steaming", but once under the hand of Hatt, Edward became a much stronger engine.

Through rebuilds, overhauls and such he doesn't much resemble a K2 these days, but that doesn't matter as much to him, as no matter the time, no matter the weather, he'll always get the train there in one piece. That's how old Edward works!

As more and more sentient engines have been created, have laws based on scrapping engines changed or are there no legal protections due to engines technically being "property"?

There was, around the 1900's a law was passed for the protection of these living mechanical beings. However, during WW2 and aftr the creation of BR, these laws were revoked which resulted in the mass scrapping of engines by people (Who unlike their drivers and workmen who knew them) had no emotional connection to theses iron horses, which is also why there began a big push to preserve so many of them

CHARATHER CARDS - THOMAS

Thomas or [River Tid] as he's named, is the engine whom most would think about when you mention the North Walney Railway (Or North Western Railway) especially that FFarquar branchline. Arriving during the Great War, Thomas would be named after the River Tid upon saving James from his accident in 1925 and being handed the branch line that same year, he's runned it ever since. Thomas is mostly a London Brighton & South Coast Railway E2 Class, though he sports Push-Pull Equipment, a shorter wheel base and bigger drivers which gives him to speed to over 50 MPH.

Thomas can be rude, cheeky, snarky, and all of the above, but when it all comes down to it, he really cares for his friends, his branch line and his work, which he does in honor of the Coffee Pots who used to run it before he did.

He's currently around 110 years old, and still being a really useful engine! Though he does get the chance to see the world for the odd gala or DOWT event here and there.

AU FACT #01

Mechanical sentience is a curious little thing as nothing seems to dedicate it's apparence on all sorts of vehicles (Like Engines, Vessels, Cars and etc.) The first phenomena of this occuring was reported to be somewhere in the 1800's, and the probability of a machine becoming sentient increased overtime, weather they have a full flesh-like face, ony sporting their eyes, nose and mouth, or not having a face at all but expressing themselves by other means (Whistles, horns, bells and etc.)

Machines are also very loyal to the humans which create and operate them and develop a special kind of relationship between man and machine. The people who are around these engines care for their well being and vice-versa.

Till this day vehicles still present an ability to become sentient and people have started to further understand their Iron-horse companions.
