Another roleplay scenario I recently did with an certain character app, this time I tried to make it into a quick story but I am not 100% sureâŠ
Kiri had slipped away from their nest that morning, hastily gathering a canoe and baskets before embarking on a journey south, toward the depths of the enchanting coral reefs.
The morning sun cast a golden shimmer upon the azure waters as Kiri dived gracefully, exploring the hidden treasures of the ocean floor. She gathered the crackling sponges and bioluminescent algae, each dive a dance beneath the waves.
As the sun ascended past its zenith, Kiri returned, her baskets brimming with the ocean's bounty. Ignoring the soft concern in the TsahĂŹk's voice, she placed her baskets on the shore.
"You shouldn't be overexerting yourself, my child, especially in your condition..." Ronal advised, her gaze drifting to Kiri's gently rounded belly.
"I'm hardly overdoing it," Kiri countered, rolling her eyes at the Tsahik. "Pregnancy isn't an ailment. Aonung just tends to overreact..."
"I know... he worries about you... hopefully, he won't be mad at me this time around..." Ronal said, a soft smile gracing her lips as the sound of swift footsteps approached.
Aonung appeared, his face a storm of anger and concern as he strode toward Kiri.
"Where the hell have you been?" he demanded, worry evident beneath his anger. "You know the rules! You shouldn't be diving alone, especially at this late stage of your pregnancy!"
"I am fine," Kiri assured him, letting the warrior pull her close, enclosing her in his protective embrace as he assessed her well-being. "I just went for a quick gathering at the reefs..."
"Yeah, right! If you hadn't returned for lunch, I would have sent the boys to look for you! You're pregnant, for God's sake! Why do I even have to tell you this?" Aonung's anger was tempered by relief, and he kissed Kiri on the forehead.
"Don't do this to me again, sweetheart! Understand?"
"I am pregnant, not an invalid," she teased, stepping away from his embrace after a quick peck on his lips to help Ronal with some medicinal pastes.
"You know I can never win an argument with you! Damn, I love you..." Aonung chuckled, his love and concern evident in his gaze.
"I know you're a strong woman, but that's why I worry..." He glanced at Kiri's belly.
"Tired and moody... this little one hasn't stopped kicking since I got back," she confessed, purring softly as her mate settled behind her, offering comfort as they grounded the algae and seeds together.
"It won't be much longer now," Ronal reassured her gently. "Soon you'll be holding your firstborn, and all the effort will be worthwhile in the end..."
"If our child is anything like you, I'm really going to have my hands full..." Aonung chuckled, feeling the baby's movements within Kiri's belly.
"He seems really excited to see us. At least, that's what it feels like to me..."
"You say it like it's a bad thing," Kiri teased, giggling softly. "And if she's anything like you, we'll be in trouble... She'll be exploring the reef like crazy, just as you used to, meeting boys she shouldn't..." Kiri's teasing earned a disapproving growl from Aonung, echoing in her ear.
Aonung chuckled. "I know I was quite the troublemaker in my youth. That's why I worry..." He playfully bit her neck. "And no boys for our daughter... I don't want to spend nights wondering who she's talking to, or worse, who she's sneaking out with..."
"That's your karma, my love," Kiri replied, giving him a quick peck before gathering the powdered seeds. "Who knows, maybe she'll convince some cute boy to run away to Three Brothers one day..." Kiri teased, her eyes dancing as she recalled the nights Aonung had persuaded her to run away with him to Three Brothers.
Aonung chuckled, his heart racing as he heard her mention "Three Brothers." "It seems you can never forget that night... I wonder why...?" he mused, pulling her close and whispering softly in her ear. "Maybe we should sneak out again tonight to remind you..."
She purred, grinning as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her even closer, and began kissing her neck. Their playful mood was about to take a more intimate turn when Kiri gasped, grunting in pain and bending over, one hand quickly caressing her swollen abdomen as she hissed in discomfort.
"Oh, you little rascal..." Kiri growled, trying to breathe through the pain.
Aonung's smile faded as he heard Kiri's discomfort. "Oh gods..." He quickly knelt beside her, caressing her belly with his hands.
"Is everything alright? Has it started?"
"No... I don't think so..." Kiri sighed, taking a deep breath as the pain subsided. She looked at him, her giggle irrepressible, and she quickly pecked him on the lips.
"This little squirt isn't even out yet and already causing trouble... like father, like child, I guess..."
"You're going to have your hands full, that's for sure," Aonung chuckled. "Don't let Neteyam and Lo'ak hear that, though..."
The warrior took one of Kiri's hands and smiled at her. "Just let your body relax right now... It's just a few more days until our child is born. Try to take it easy..."
Kiri sighed, nodding as she allowed him to guide her throughout Awa'atlu. As they approached their shared marui, she looked toward the horizon with a tender expression.
"I have to go help Tsireya with some algae gathering tomorrow..." she mentioned, hearing Aonung's disapproving growl.
