When Daenerys and Jon are both separately told they are going to be arranged into marriage with a stranger for familial gain, they decide they have ultimately had enough with the abuse of their family members. It is by complete coincidence that they find each other in the midst of running away - and even more so when they start gaining feelings for one another, not knowing they are each others’ planned spouse.

“I think I did alright.”
Dany turned to him. “Yeah, alright.”
“Better than you.”
“I didn’t have the proper tools at my disposal.”
“Fine, bonus points for resourcefulness.”
She gnawed her cheek. The white overhead lights of the bathroom reflected on his dark eyes, giving them an unlocked doeiness she had not yet seen. He broke his gaze from her own eyes, and only then did she feel something like a cord snap in her chest. She followed his eyes to where his hand swept down a lock of her hair. She looked back to him in question.
Jon cleared his throat. “You, uh, had some…yeah. There you go.”
Dany placed the back of her fingers to his forehead. “You’re still warm.”
“I have to return the scissors.”
She rolled her eyes. “I will. You rest.”
He took a long look as if he was debating if he should argue with her. But with a blink, he nodded. “I’ll rest.”
“Thank you.”
