In a few months, Iāll be marking my second year as a homeownerābut my room? Hindi pa rin natutulugan. (Tipid mode lang ang tito mo.)
A few weeks ago, I finally decided to start building my bedroom. I did what every responsible adult does: I canvassed, I compared, and eventually bought a mattress and bed. I told myself, āOkay, this is it. Start na āto ng room ko.ā
Excited pa ako, I went home and measured everything just to make sure the bed would fit perfectly. But thatās when reality started to creep in.
Kulangan pala sa ilaw ang kwarto ko.
I also realized I needed more electrical outlets because I wanted to avoid using extension cords as much as possible. Then I looked around again and thoughtā*I donāt even like the color of my room.*
And thatās when it hit me: kung ipupush ko yung bed ngayon, mas mahirap na pala magpa-renovate later.
So even if the bed was already on its way (delivery is in three weeks), I made a decision: Iād renovate the room first. What was supposed to be a simple, gradual upgrade suddenly turned into a full-blown transformation.
From a ājust buy a bedā plan, it became, repainting the entire room⦠adding electrical sockets⦠installing pin lightsā¦
And just when I thought I was done⦠I found myself browsing for an aircon. Kasi naman, sayang kung hindi ko rin matutulugan nang maayos yung kwarto after all this effort, right?
So here I am, slowly watching my āsimple bedroom upgradeā evolve into a full interior project. May mga lighting fixtures at beddings na rin akong naka-add sa cartābecause apparently, once you start, it doesnāt really stop.
A week of adulting decisions later, my wallet is now in silent protest.
And me? Still convincing myself that this is all part of the plan.
Ikaw, kamusta ang mga āsimple plansā mo lately?
