Newsfeed starter- video proof

Patrick paled when he opened the link he had been emailed. Shit, who had recoded that, and what the hell had they done in posting it?! He cringed as the video played. Why had he listened to Ian and gone drinking the night before. He’d still been drunk at the meeting. He pulled his phone out of his pocket to make some calls. This was going to get cleared up before it got out of hand.

He sighed when his call was answered. “Hey, how do I take down a YouTube video?”

Elizaveta picked up the phone whilst on her laptop, the video playing in the background. When she heard his voice, she started giggling "Oh, hey Patrick! Yeah yeah I'll tell you how lemme just get to the end of the video."

She tried her best to stifle the giggles, but they were all in vain.

Spring is coming (OPEN STARTER)

Elizaveta hummed softly to herself, her green eyes softly overlooking the small orchard close to her home. She sat on the hill on the frosty afternoon, simply wondering and contemplating the quiet Christmas.

Her hair was put up in a messy bun, with no make up and comfortable, baggy clothes. She didn't feel the need to make herself up when she didn't have to impress anyone. No-one who she had to cover up for was going to see her.

The orchard wasn't just an orchard. It was battlegrounds, stained red with blood from loyal soldiers over centuries. It was gardens in full bloom in an Austrian Summer. It was seas of discovery and new empires. But, most importantly, it was her home.

She snapped out of her daze after she heard a soft sound. "Hello?" She enquired, curious as to who'd come and visit her.

"If by ‘alright’ you mean ‘not being able to look outside your window without seeing how shitty my country and my people look’, then yup, I’m alright."

Gilbert leaned on the wall behind him, scowling in anger and frustration. But the scowl looked different from the one he often gave people because of his usual crankiness. He hated to lose. Hated to be defeated. Everyone does, but he just felt it hit him harder than it should.

He’d ask her how she was feeling right after, but maybe it would be better if he didn’t say anything. The Prussian knew how rude he could be when irritated. So he simply sighed and pulled a cigarette to his mouth to allow himself some time to breath and calm down.

The old lighter sparked a small flame, that gently licked the tip of the cigarette.

She turned her head away a little out of embarrassment. "Stupid question, sorry," she murmured back.

She didn't know whether it was because she felt was partly responsible or she just felt pity for him, but an overwhelming sense of guilt settled in her stomach.

What did she divert the topic to now? Their people, who either lay in graves or a pit of ruin and humiliation? Their friends, who had either turned their back or suffered hardships also? The war had destroyed everything. 

"At least you have him though, right? Your brother. Ludwig," she said quietly in the end. She had to focus on the positive things. "Both of you will get through this and grow stronger from it. We all learn from these things, we've come out of wars countless times. This one is no different."

He had always been that inconsequent. A bit of fun, but mostly a tingle of the regret he’d feel in a not too long future. But for the first time in a very long while, he felt none of it. Just the thrill of an adventure, the goosebumps of sharing this awkward situation with someone.

As he ran away as fast as he could, his legs and his arms began to beg him to stop by some place and find rest. Gilbert ran a little more and turned back to check whether they were still being followed, which – luckily – they weren’t.

The albino finally allowed his companion to land on the ground as he realized they had reached the city’s park.

"Can’t really say I help girls down random trees or run away from their mothers every day. But I would do it more often if I could," he chuckled to her as he sat down on the grass to her side. "And I could always crash from the hospital windows and rescue you from a boring two-hour lecture from your mom."

She laughed. "I have a feeling you'd have saved me one way or another."

She lay on the grass contentedly, humming softly to herself before turning her head to look at him. "Say, have you lived here all of your life? I've been here for a while and I've never seen you around. If you have it seems a little... sad... that we've never met before."

She was thinking of all the time alone she'd spent during the years she'd hidden herself away from fear of involvement or commitment. Was she ready to ever share herself with someone else?

She caught Gilbert's eyes with her own, and her cheeks tinged a little scarlet. Yes, of course she was ready. With him? Maybe. Probably. Could she imagine anyone else, then? No, no way in the world.

It had only been a day. What was she thinking?!

Meeting Again - Hungary&Austria

"ofcourse not. It was made for large groups to get together in a civilised manner to discuss … never mind. I’d like to see it filled with people again" he managed to interrupt himself. It was’t used for that anymore and maybe it was a good thing. Though he did smile a little at her excitement. "I’ll write invites, is there anyone you wanted to come?" he asked.

She felt a little overwhelmed that such a lovely event would possibly take place somewhere she once knew as home, with those she considered family and friends there.

"We bear the same close people, Roderich, whomever you see fit to invite is the same as I! We could always just invite everyone and see how it turns out, I don't see that there'd be any major issues in everyone attending!"

Excitement bubbled inside of her, but a little nagging feeling of doubt still remained.

Elizaveta had been pleasantly surprised that Ian had offered to allow her to decorate his home with her overflowing Christmas trinkets; she’d collected too many over the years and had requested someone to take them off of her hands - and Ian had popped up. With her want to visit her friend she decided she’d visit for a day and help him decorate to catch up with her old friend. 

She stood on the step before his door before pressing the doorbell and waiting patiently. She hoped he was in or she hadn’t caught him at a bad time.

Ian tugged his sweatpants higher on his hips, peeking out through the peephole and cursing when he saw it was Liz. He hadn’t forgot she was coming he’d just thought it was earlier than this. Welp, he looked like crap at the moment, but it would be rude to make her wait. He ran his fingers through his untidy hair and pulled the door open.  "Glad ye could make it."

She smiled politely. Shit. A bad time. She reckoned she should have messaged him ahead of time to let him know. She was thoughtless as always.

"Ah, no! Thank you for having me and taking these things off of me! I'm glad they're going to a good home," she answered, beaming pleasantly. "I hope I haven't come too early - I forgot to message or call you before I set off to see if the timing was convenient. I'm sorry!"

He was expecting to be kissed, distractingly closing his eyelids for a moment when he felt her hand pulling his again. A smile played on his lips again, as he just felt his feet hitting the ground again after tripping on himself a couple of times.

"They never give up, do they?"

But feeling like going a little mischievous, he instantly sped up, quickly rushing to carry her companion bridal style.

"Step on it!"

She shrieked as she was lifted, but it was soon accompanied by laughter as she was carried hurriedly around the streets. She didn't know where they were going, or where they would end up, but she had no fear or worry. As long as these two people who finally found a place alongside somebody stuck together, then they'd be okay.

After a while of running she wriggled down from him; she wasn't exactly light as a feather, and any weight becomes a strain after so long. They seemed to have lost them, and she sighed in relief.

"Wow! That was a ride!" She giggled, sprawling onto the floor of what seemed to be a small park in the central part of the city, a bid for the local council to seem "green" most likely.

"Who would have thought that today would end up like this. I imagine that if not for you, I'd have a broken ankle in the hospital and mother would have finally cornered me. I owe you!" She grinned at him. and though it seemed mischievous, there was a large sense of gratefulness behind it.

She’d never been too good at arranging her own decorations, she’d been too busy as of late to make any concrete plans on what she should put up and where. However, she knew a guy who had a flair for style and wondered if her old friend might lend a hand.

She rifled through the attic, humming pleasantly as she waited for the doorbell to ring to signal his arrival. She’d not seen him in so long (except across a long long table in a very boring meeting once or twice) and she was eager to catch up with his happenings and spend some time with him while they decorated her home.

The doorball rang and she raced down the steps and to the door, throwing it open with a big smile and tinsel tangled in her hair. “Francis! Boldog Karácsonyt! Come on in, you must be freezing!”

Meeting up AGAIN

He fans away her thanks and shrugs. “Come on, it’s practically my job to keep him in check.” He laughs again as he watches her drink, taking his own for a moment.

It was a long time before he responded to her fast and desperate ramblings. And all he had to offer was a shrug.

"I am not the best one to give you advice. In my own humble opinion, this is how love is. If you loved Roderich you would be with him now, whether he loved you or not-" He raised a finger to her lips before she could interject, "Even if you had put yourself in that position before. Lovers are fools, and they will always head rushing in if they truely do love." 

He paused for a moment and drank.

"The same goes for your friend. Although, if you are simply stuck with who to choose… then don’t. I’m just about as old fashioned as you are, and you should know that the one who loves you back, and the one who would strive to do everything for you, shall be the one to fight to earn your love. Literally and metaphorically. So what if you let them both lead you for a little while, in the end you’ll be able to come away knowing who you want, and able to choose."

"Besides, you have eternity to change your mind."

She pondered this for a moment, wondering why she hadn't thought of something so simple in the first place. She didn't have to choose; there was no "choosing" about it. Whoever truly wanted her would be obvious soon enough. It was just about waiting.

She gave a sigh of relief. "Antonio, you're a life saver! I was over-complicating things. Thank you. Thank you so much."

She downed her drink in one, ordering the same one immediately afterwards. "I might as well get drunk, I haven't had a good drink in ages!"
