Ok so my other post never gained any traction so I’m gonna try this again and hope that people will reblog it this time. I am a university student, who has been looking for a job for the past two months. Currently I am being supported by my emotionally abusive family, who have decided to send me only 200 dollars for the entire month of July. My gym membership, that I’m not able to cancel, costs fifty dollars and I also have to pay an internet bill of about 60 dollars this month. This leaves me with $90 to buy food and other necessities (like, I’m gonna need more toothpaste soon) for the entire month. (Thankfully, my rent has been paid.) I live in downtown Toronto, where the price of these basic needs can get very high. My boyfriend’s family has already given so much to me, I don’t want to ask them for anything more, and I don’t have much in my savings account either. I spent the money, not knowing I would be in this situation now.
I’m not sure if I will be able to find a job. There aren’t many positions being offered here, and my ongoing struggle with my mental health and disability (aspberger’s) makes certain types of work impossible for me. I had to resign midway through my training at an italian restaurant because of the incredibly long and late hours, among many other reasons. I’m not trying to be lazy, I simply wasn’t capable of doing the duties this position required.Â
