One day, Paul and John rang us on the telly.
Paul seemed rather eager.
Paul: “Hey lads!! Won’t be back until tonight! John and I are on vacation!”
“Vacation? Since when?” Before I could reply, the blokes hung up on us…
George and I sat confused. Wonder what’s gotten those two so excited?
That didn’t seem to bother George at all though.
In fact, the young lad was more than happy we were left!
George: “Finally! ‘Nough nagging from those twats. I’m dying for a walk. How ‘bout it, Ritchie?”
Ringo: “Huh! You seem pretty damn jolly [today].”
We wandered ‘round Merseyside spending as much time together.
Sure, it seemed rather gloomy these days… but having one of your best lads around felt like a beaming sunny morning.
So we did a bunch of rather silly things together.
You could say we got quite distracted,
But what’s that to matter, really?
In the end, I love spending time with my best friend George. That’s what matters most.
Just look at that grin — You could tell he loves me! An award winning smile he has, this jolly scouser.
We ended the day swimmingly, so well [that] we forgot the time!
We sat on a nearby bench and jammed out to George’s tunes.
I love my best friend George. He’s a joy to be around.
Funny enough, we were out so long, we hadn’t realized John and Paul came back!
Paul: “Funny seeing you lads here! Miss us?”
John: “Didn’t mean to interrupt yer little honeymoon.”
George: “Oh- BUZZ OFF, John!”
Ringo: “Took you two long ‘nough… What kind of ‘vacation’ did you get into??”
This was for a school project last year! We had to make 10-page zines for our final, and I wanted to make it a story based on the things that I loved and felt happy from. :-] This is drawn fully with crayons and brown post-it notes, and I wanted to create a children’s book kind of vibe!
And wanted to shine the spotlight on Harrison Starr/Starrison + Ringo and George’s close relationship as band mates! Most underrated musical duo ever - I absolutely adore the bond they had inside and outside of the Beatles, and I felt like they deserved as much love as Lennon McCartney/McLennon :-]
Hope you enjoyed the little story!
