A touch of whimsy showed in his features as he grinned at her, and it was clear then that he was planning something. Not that he ever wasn’t planning, but she felt in her gut that this was going to be a bit different than their usual trips.
“Electric. Daisy. Carnival.”
Thick brows rose almost to her hairline at the name. Working with a circus, she had learned and heard of all kinds of things, and the name seemed vaguely familiar. She was certain she’d heard it– or at the very least, something like it– in passing as she’d often wandered the crowds, but she never quite knew what it was.
Electronic music. That was something she was familiar with. She’d stumbled upon it early on in her circus career, and had taken to using several songs from the genre for her performances. It was no surprise to her that he’d be interested in such a thing. The term ‘rave’, however, was not something she’d ever heard of.
“I’m afraid not.” She replied, “but it appears I’ll be learning about it shortly.”
The Doctor positively beamed in response to her answer and tapped her on the nose with his finger. “Yes you will~ And you’re going to love it.” He glanced upward in thought for a moment, choosing his words. “Imagine a circus where the audience are the performers. As many people as you can picture in a dazzling crowd all decked out in lights and costumes and glowing bits. Add music and lasers and fireworks... and you will have a rough approximation of....possibly, almost one eighth of it.” He grinned.
“Really, though, anything is better to show you than to tell you about it. Nobody should make do with a plot synopsis of a party. I mean, come on. Who does that?”
With one hand resting on the time rotor handbrake, he held the other out to her entreatingly. “So what do you say? Shall we go to a party?”
