you have to be careful reading too many things that are good/smart/well-written bc then you encounter something that isnt and you get confused like ? why didnt they just make this good ? were they stupid
You’re living, you occupy space, and you have mass.
You know what that means?
You matter

A comic adaptation of Zoe Leonard’s “I want a dyke for president” (1992)
In light of recent events, I have begun submitting bug reports when I see mature content labels applied inappropriately to posts, especially if an appeal has been rejected.
Extremely good idea - how are you doing it? Through the contact us option?
Yeah it’s one of the options on the Contact Support form:
You have to have friends who think your life's passion ain't shit. You have to hang out with people who simply do notttt give a crap about the thing that you find all consuming. Because if you don't, then when you're really stressed about that thing, your friends are also gonna be stressed about it, and you're just gonna end up in a stress feedback loop with no outside input.
But if you have friends who could not possibly give fewer fucks about your calling, then when you're really fucking stressed because it feels like it's your entire world, they can say, "...You know representation theory like... doesn't matter, right? Do you want to get takeout and play a video game? Let's get takeout and play a video game." And then you will get takeout and play a video game and feel a bit better.

There is one very important thing I need people without major dietary restrictions to understand: the distress caused by allergies, celiac disease, and other food restrictions is largely not about the food.
Do I miss some foods I can't eat anymore without getting sick? Sure, but that's not what really bothers me. What bothers me is being excluded from a huge portion of human social life of which food is a crucial component. What bothers me is the stress and social stigma of trying to figure out what I can safely eat. What bothers me is the amount of extra work and cost that is required of me to identify, obtain, and prepare safe foods. What bothers me is people treating my needs like a nuisance, as though I chose to be like this - as though their brief inconvenience to check an ingredients list is unreasonable, when I deal with this every day of my life forever.
I don't miss the food that much. I miss not having to worry about what I eat. I miss freedom. I miss when trying new foods and new restaurants was fun instead of a minefield. I miss not having to plan my entire life around the need for safe foods.
Food is such a basic human need, and a lot of people don't really need to think about it. When your danger foods can be anywhere and everywhere, suddenly your entire life revolves around avoiding them, and it massively sucks. You get used to it and it's not a big deal most of the time, but then you go to a new restaurant, or your office has a potluck, or you've been invited to a party and suddenly it feels just as miserable and exhausting as it ever has.
Anyone else absolutely loves an idol group SO MUCH you wanna draw them as the most terrific beings alive?
Working on a little something~
I simply cannot draw them if I don't use this specific style; believe me, I've tried.
Wanna make more later, something with more quality.
PLS LISTEN TO PS SONGS THEY ARE PEAAAKKKK
My personal fave:
But I love them all, they didn't make ONE song I didn't like.
“Miu likes to eat”
And no I am NOT drawing them in the Horror Queen dresses so soon, that stuff is WAY too complicated 😭😭😭
"why don't you post anymore" I regret to say it's because the meds are working. I am even doing well in a maths based college class

do not go to Dr. Kenneth Wolf for top surgery
I went to him because he was 1.) the cheapest possible option and since I needed crowdfunding that seemed best 2.) within driving distance of my friends who’d be able to host me. I didn’t have any complications and I don’t hate my results, so the fact that he stopped offering free revisions after COVID (including for people who had their surgeries before the pandemic) and ghosts everyone isn’t a huge deal personally. I do have moderate to severe dog-earring right in the middle my chest which limits what clothing I can wear and have inquired about possible revisions with other surgeons (so far no one has been willing to operate on other dr’s work and have told me I’d need to pay the price of a full secondary top surgery). Dr. Wolf famously ghosts all his patients after surgery and has strict weight limits.
HOWEVER I accompanied my friend to their top surgery at the University of Michigan last year that made Dr. Wolf’s entire process seem back alley and sketchy by comparison. My friend had extensive pre- and post-surgical monitoring and extreme sanitary precautions. Dr. Wolf just had me take off my shirt and slapped me on the operation table still wearing my street clothes and then scraped me up and sent me home the moment I regained consciousness. His bedside manner was offputting and uncomfortable. It has been impossible to contact him ever since, even to ask politely why my stitches look so different from his other results. Other people with much worse results have also been ghosted.
OH AND ALSO when I asked if he could swap my left and right nipples just for the hell of it he said “yeah sure lol” but apparently you’re not supposed to do that because there is the risk of like, manually metastasizing cancer cells. lol. I did ask for it and I think I am at very low risk for breast cancer but I do think a responsible surgeon should at least know about and warn you of that possibility before agreeing to it.
my friends and my ex were great caretakers who made the recovery process easy and kind of fun but knowing what I know now makes the whole experience retroactively a little bit traumatic
I've said it before and I'll say it again. We need a "This is absolutely NOT mature content" feedback button on posts. You can report a post as missing a community label. We should also be able to report posts as having a comminity label when they dont fucking need one.
