Funny and angsty Hisui idea:
Ash, Goh, and Gary get sent to Hisui but not before Ash and Goh have an argument about Ash’s supposed ‘self proclaimed’ Chosen One title where Goh calls bullshit on it while also feeling betrayed that Ash had actually met a bunch of Gods and even Mew on occasions. Ash just doesn’t want to talk about it to begin with as he doesn’t even know where Goh got this information, which was willingly given to him by some of Ash’s past traveling friends that they met up with before, and just wants to drop the subject.
Gary comes in the equation because Ash had uncharacteristically called to vent to him. genuinely feeling really upset and frustrated with Goh which is a feeling he isn’t used to having in general. Gary here’s Ash’s side of the story and even though their friendship isn’t as strong as it was once they were really small he immediately agrees that Goh is in the wrong.
Move forward to all three dropping into Hisui, where Pikachu is weirdly the only one that followed them there, they all end up in different spots in the region.
Goh ends up on the beach where the MC starts. Ash and Pikachu ends up smack dab in the middle of the Diamond clans camp. While Gary ends up with the Pearl clan after appearing on top of the giant ice formation in the middle of the Iceland’s.
It isn’t long until all three are connected back in Jubilife village where they explained how they know each other and how, unlike Ingo which he comes in later, have their memories in complete tack. Though they all collectively play dumb in case something really bad happened for some reason.
It was Gary’s idea, to used to getting kidnapped since he is Professor Oaks only grandson, so he has it down lock and key. Goh insisted to tell the truth but was out-logic’ed by Gary in some way. Ash easily goes along because he’s been in the same position as Gary before, albeit in world ending or far more dangerous situations but still.
After the basic meet and greet, Ash and Pikachu actually go back and join the Diamond clan with Adaman instead of staying in the village with Gary and Goh. Kamado and the whole villiage gives both him and his buddy bad vibes but he asked Gary, somehow in private, to stay with Goh to make sure he doesn’t do something reckless like he would.
Basically the conversation is; “I have main character plot armor, you both don’t, can you please stick together while I fix this?”
Gary agrees because he also had heard the true stories about Ash’s harrowing adventures from Brock and Misty, albeit through bits and pieces, and he also wants to keep an eye on Goh for his own piece of mind and because he’s still angry at the younger trainer. They join the survey group and quickly both become shining stars but try and outshine each other obviously.
Ash goes back to the Diamond clan and wows everyone about how easy he and Pikachu get along. somehow a lot better then Adaman and his Leafeon, which going through death defying shit helps. Of course there’s people against Ash joining but it’s not much, not compared to Jubilife. He also ends up getting a lot more messages from his Arc Phone then Gary and Goh besides the first one of “deal out all Pokémon” or something along the same lines.
All three are in their elements until the first frenzied Lord shows up. Before both Goh and Gary could even get to the tree and Lian, the Lord is already soothed. Lian admitted that the new Diamond clan member and his Piakchu had thought you the idea of throwing Kleavors favorite foods at them like balms. Which is very much and Ash answer.
It obviously worked and both boys get sent back to the village, reporting back what happened. It then quickly realized to both Gary and Goh that Ash actually has a lot more freedom then they do in this entire situation. Since the people of Jubilife are naturally scared of Pokémon they all end up taking near extreme caution about moving about outside the walls of the village.
Ash doesn’t have to do survey work to keep a roof over his head, he’s a great nanny to the younger kids and actually protects the clan better then the ‘guards’ as he isn’t at all scared of the wild Pokémon, nor does he have to gain ranks to get to certain parts of the region.
Soon both Adaman and Irida requests Ash’s help instead of going to Kamado, which ticks the man off for many reasons. Leaving Jubilife in the dark as a whole and Gary and Goh get concerned for Ash’s safety as he has no one but Pikachu and hasn’t visited in what would be considered weeks in their time.
Ash and Piakchu on the other hand are having a blast. Well, as much as they can in this situation. Helping around the Diamond clan and even the Pearl clan outside of frenzied Lords and Ladies. Connecting the two far more then anyone in the past could achieve. He obviously meets Ingo far faster then the other two boys and ends up getting pissed as all hell.
He was wondering where Ingo had disappeared to after learning from Iris that the man had completely disappeared into thin air and leaving a distraught twin brother. This doubles his and Pikachu’s efforts into getting back home and faster and getting the twins reunited because apparently it’s been years for Ingo but only a few months for Emmet.
Ash ends up facing Kamado before entering the temple on top of Coronet near the end of the story line. Uncaring for once about his actions, Ash is brutal during his battle with the chief. Leaving no Pokémon unfainted in his wake. Volo doesn’t even stand a chance once he comes around with Giratina because Ash just sucked punches his lights out and takes the plate he had been keeping.
Goh and Gary had been restricted to the village and actually not casted out as they had no hand in the lord and ladies unlike Ash and Pikachu. Rules specifically given by Kamado and enforced by Cyllene. So they don’t know what’s going on with Ash and Piakchu still.
Gary has absolute faith in the two while Goh obviously breaks down. Even though this is both their first ‘Chosen One Adventure’ with Ash, they end up reacting very differently.
Gary, through the whole thing, takes it like water to a Psyduck’s feathers. Yes he’s stressed and worried, not being able to see Ash for months on end. While knowing he’s constantly putting himself in danger over and over again. Gary believes that Ash and Pikachu will one hundred percent save the day in the end and bring everyone of them back home, including Ingo.
Goh is a mess. Breaking down in private a lot of the time and barely keeping himself together. He’s thankful Gary had stopped picking on him after their first two weeks in Hisui had past. This wasn’t one of those shaft three day adventures he head learned about from the others but a very long haul one.
Ash and Piakchu are definitely going to punch Arceus in the face for this.
They all get returned home in the end, only being missing for three days and all of Ash’s friends chalk it up to Magical Mishaps with Ash and Pikachu again while the Professor and the lab assistant just thought Ash had Dragged a willing Goh on a three day normal normal teen adventure.
