A Sudden Increase of Hackers in Sky

If you are wondering why servers have been a lot more laggy + why there are a bunch of bald moths running around, here is your answer!

There has been an influx of ‘hackers’ recently.

Usually ‘hackers’ don’t really have a fixed nationality. But most of the bald moths spotted in wasteland seem to be from one country.

I’m not saying this to generalize! But it is quite unusual to see all of them in one place.

Although most of them are pretty harmless, they are contributing to the server lag by teleporting around with whatever mod they are using.

(They are definitely NOT using a mod I’m familiar with)

And since several people from the official Sky Discord have started to report this phenomenon, I suggest not to befriend or approach them.

I have interviewed some of them. And from what I can gather, most of them are around 15 to 18 years old. They mentioned they are testing something? 🤔 No idea what that is about.

Mario Star in Sky🌟

Okay, so this needs some explanation

If you look at the current game 3D mesh files, you can see four objects named with ‘Secret’ within the game files that where never actually used in live sky

And one of those objects is called ‘SecretStar_01’

But if you look at the files in a 3D format…

It just looks flat

However, the other two objects(SecretPedestal_01 and _02) have the full models ready

(SecretPedestal_02 looks the same except for the little nubs at the top removed)

Based on this, I looked at the Light Awaits files as well to compare the two and found these objects also named with ‘Secret’ in it

And if you open the ‘SecretObject_01’

(I guess this was changed to be named SecretStar_01 later?)

You get these!

I speculate that this was going to be in the game as an easter egg but got removed before moving to live

(For obvious reasons! Copyright sue hammers from Nintendo are scary)

The other files that didn’t make it to live are these

(SeacretDoor_01 and SecretDoorGrate_01)

A gate to the easter egg perhaps?

It would have been cool to actually see this in the game!

I haven’t posted recently ‘cause of burnout from cr + irl stuff and have been resting for a while. I’ll return to my usual posts after this one.

Back to the title; When do you consider someone a veteran in Sky?

(A moth called asked when they could become a vet the other day and I had no idea how to answer that :P)

Do you have a basis on calling someone a vet?

We need a name change

I think calling Sky 'hackers' as 'hackers' get the wrong image across

Most of the fancy stuff you see on the stuff you see on the surface is all thanks to mods that where made by somebody else.

The more correct term in calling us would be 'modders' or 'mod users'

And most of them have no experience in programming. So if you ever encounter a 'hacker'(most likely a modder) who threatens to dox you, they are definitely bluffing.

So don’t be afraid of them!

The best modders can do is make your game a wee bit laggy and/or auto compleat quests and be a slight nuisance in playing.

It never hurts to be cautious about who you meet online in general. Not just the odd modder you meet!

Although the items are still in the game, ever since the event itself got cancelled on global(they did it on Netease), there has been no news about it.

For this person and those who are unaware, I am a fake 'hacker.'

I use mods and pre-made programs to look into Sky from a closer perspective. And those things are only used for exploration within Sky.

I have 0 knowledge of programming or actual hacking.

+ Even if I had that kind of knowledge, I do not desire to take personal information or hack anyone's account. I do not want to harm anyone!
