Why does everyone need a self-insert in media? Not every character is going to be gay or trans, not every character is going to be fat, disabled, and ugly. I’m fine with the way representation is currently. People just like finding things to complain about.

Both of these flags to me symbolizes hatred not only towards Black people but to anyone whose not a pinkish color.
Awesome!

At Least 6 Predominately Black Southern Churches Burned Down Within A Week. Arson Suspected In At Least Three
In the week after nine people were shot dead at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in South Carolina, six, possibly seven, churches with predominately black congregations in five southern states have burned. Three of them were being investigated as arson. The seventh possibly being a fire at the Greater Miracle Apostolic Holiness Church in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday that destroyed the church and caused an estimated $700,000 in damage. Authorities suspect a tree limb that fell on electrical lines is what caused it, however they’re still investigating it further.
The FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are working with local authorities to find those who set them.
“They’re being investigated to determine who is responsible and what motives are behind them,” FBI spokesperson Paul Bresson told BuzzFeed News. “I’m not sure there is any reason to link them together at this point.”
An arsonist set fire to the College Hills Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Monday. The following day, God’s Power Church of Christ in Macon, Georgia, was gutted by flames. And on Wednesday, Briar Creek Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, was deliberately set ablaze, and took more than 75 firefighters over an hour to get the fire under control. but by then, it had caused more than $250,000 worth of damage and demolished the church’s main building.
Other churches in South Carolina and Ohio have also caught fire, though it’s unclear if arsonists began the blazes.
Despite the cause, all the churches have predominately black congregations. The legal advocacy organization said that even if the events are determined to be arson, it takes additional proof to classify the acts as hate crimes. Since 1956, there have been at least 91 violent attacks on black churches.
The investigations are still ongoing.

I Flag, You Flag, We All Need To Shut The F*uck Up About FLAGS!
*Steps up on Soapbox*
My fellow Americans. I say American’s because that’s who I want to take heed of this message. These past two weeks has arguably had some of the MOST influential and game changing events of American History. Dylann Roof’s terrorist hate crime attack in Charleston and the many arson incidents that followed in the South, Bree Newsome and everyone else fighting for the removal of the Confederate flag, President Barack Obama delivering one of the greatest speeches/eulogies EVER. SCOTUS said BYE FELECIA to state bans on Marriage of same sex couples during Pride month. It’s is incredible and while a lot of those events and other events that led up to them has made me consider seeking citizenship elsewhere. (London seems really Nice) But I can honestly say I am proud to be an American.
BUT!
All of these events have also had one common denominator. A DAMN FLAG! Now I understand that flags are super cute decorations, makes great t shirt designs and can help give important signals but enough is enough! YOU HEAR ME! ENOUGH!
Everyone is all of a sudden up in arms about their fabrics. The Confederate flag needs to come down for obvious reasons! I may blog about that because that deserves its own rant. The Gay Pride flag is just a rainbow...that’s it. The American Flag is, fine its our symbol of freedom and should be respected. FINE. Now people are demanding a straight pride flag? What in the hottest hell are you talking about? That is just as ignorant as saying where is White History Month?
Public forum debate is turning into playground politics. Americans have a ‘this is mine’ mentality ever since the day the founding fathers took the land away from Native Americans. OOOO YES I SAID IT!. And because of that, we demand what we think is ours and get mad when we cant have it!
Its beautiful that we can come together or a commonly accepted symbol of something positive. (For the most part!) But look at what it is doing to our country? Maybe it is time to rethink our mindset regarding flags? Maybe we need to understand that WE are the symbol of freedom and unity and ditch flags all together. Why idolize an object? Why EMPOWER an image to the point that it makes us kill each other? Get it together or get rid of them!

Rachel Dolezal Rant!
He, His, Him From Bruce to Caitlyn
Ok..soo I try really hard not to have an opinion about things that I don’t understand fully because...whats the point? Transgender is one of those things. I know the struggles of being a part of the LGBT community. I know that it is hard to love the skin you’re in when you are constantly bombarded with hate from the general community. If someone identifies as Transgender...fine..that’s just fine. I personally do not understand what it feels like to feel like you were assigned the wrong gender and that is OK but it could also be the source of this rant...
I found this post today from a member of GLAAD, an organization that I highly respect, admire, and find truly inspirational.
“Just a note. Bruce Jenner is asking people to use "Bruce" and male pronouns for now. We should respect his wishes. Each Trans person gets to manage their transition in their own way. Bruce's transition is unique. It's not the way I'd do it, but it's not me. So we'll use Bruce and he for a while longer. My understanding is, not long.
I say all this because as you probably know, I have been getting to know Bruce. I think of him as female now and am using the new name, not made public, and am rather accustomed to referring to Bruce in that way. But Bruce's preferences have been made clear for now and should be respected by everyone when speaking of him in any public venue. Including me.
It's awkward. It's also a personal choice. Let's go with that.”
*scratches head* *sighs* *starts sentence but stops because at a complete loss for words*
I am trying to be more supportive of people that are transgender and call them by their preferred pronouns but at some level...its just not fair. When Leelah Alcorn committed suicide, people took to the media calling his parents bullies because they called her a he after his death. Strangers called the parents bullies. STRANGERS! The parents knew Leelah as Joshua Ryan Alcorn. The mother gave birth to Joshua Ryan Alcorn. To them that is their baby boy. How disrespectful is it that people attacked them for not understanding what their son was going through.
So pardon me...I don’t think it is fair for society to tell people that is hateful for someone to slip up and not call a transgender person by their requested pronoun.
Sometimes I feel like Beyonce, you don't see me getting mad when people call me Joshua.
Please someone help me understand this.
RANT!!!!
#DrawMohammed and #Notmyamerica is such a crude display of intolerance, injustice, and double standard in this country. My biggest takeaways from this are Religious Intolerance, Institutionalized Racism, and lack of Media (News and Social).
I hate comparing Apples to Oranges but the fact remains that, even without my simulation time machine, I know if these protesters were predominantly black and organized a “PEACEFUL PROTEST” for which they were instructed to “utilize there second amendment right at this event just in case the first amendment comes under much anticipated attack.”, there would have been a different tone for media coverage and police presence. Police were active and aggressive in Baltimore responding to a Facebook page primarily orchestrated by HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.
I am also quite annoyed about the medias lax coverage on this and Social Media’s sudden absence of anarchists, protesters, and politicians. Again, Apples and Oranges, Phoenix and Baltimore, Police Brutality and Religious Intolerance.
Why are we not making this a bigger issue than it is because its not black and white?

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I believe that everyone has their own taste in people, myself included. YOU DON’T HAVE TO FIND EVERYONE ATTRACTIVE!
BUT. I have been noticing the trend within the gay community that most gay men are attracted to a specific type and race of guy. White and muscular. Why? Probably because that’s what you see when you go hunting for porn..Thanks society. You’re the best.
sometimes I like to jump in fountains and what not...its fun, you can get good photos from it...and its a great way to stay in shape.
Motivational Monday
I’m one to talk about motivation! I restarted my blog and stopped AGAIN. Life refuses to let you catch a damn breath! BUT IM BACK AGAIN! HAYYY!
I have been working on starting my own company called The Social Renaissance Project. It is a production company that develops and produces material dedicated to raising awareness about social issues in America. Of course I want to be successful and I would LOVE for my company to flourish but its so much more than that.
Originally I wanted to be a civil rights attorney, which is why I studied Political Science in college. I realized that was not really what my calling was when I started my theater performance minor. My life goals changed instantly. I realized that I could affect people in ways that made them think. Made them feel.
That revelation spawned my dream of having my own theater company that had resident artists that produced original and published works that targeted diversity and also housed a training program for actors in the inner city. While that is still a dream of mine, The Social Renaissance Project presented itself as an idea and now I am running with it!
I say all that to encourage people to continue following what makes them happy. Losing sight of a dream is as easy as loosing sight of a tiny spider descending from the ceiling. (But hopefully not as terrifying!) Hold your dream!
How I feel when I'm waiting at an audition and a lot of black actors walk in..
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce the biggest undertaking of my life those far. My dream group, The Social Renaissance Project. SRP is a production group that develops original content focusing on social issues in America. We just wrapped up promo shooting for our first project which is a web series about an LGBT support group titled "support" written by myself and @scriverestorie Seriously love all of these individuals! Thank you for making my dream a reality! #socialchange #srp #socrenpro #socialrenaissanceproject #socialawareness #indiegogo #crowdfunding #webseries #film #director #producer #actor #tableread #laactors #theatre #lgbt #lgbtq #equality

Whenever black people, out of frustration with police brutality, institutionalized poverty and neglect express this anger, there are endless cable news blatherings about what are called "pathologies" in poor black communities. The discussion about the "pathologies" of violent, largely white sports fans acting barbarically before and after games is long past due.
