â thankfully this place is far more tranquil, i have heard some colleagues that come from other posts in other cities and their situations are so much more intense.â it was a statement let out with a lopsided smile as he sat outside the departmentâs stairways, the warm coffee within his hands. â thank you for the coffee, though, it was really unexpected and the machine inside is busted. â
âit can be nice around here.â except for the whole forgetting who you are and then finally realising thing. that part did kinda suck. but the fact his family was showing up one by one was slightly more reassuring and if they were all here in one piece? he was definitely fine with remaining in port vista. âyouâre welcome.. iâm more of a tea drinker myself, but iâm always prepared with coffee in case someone wants it.â

Sitting up dead straight in her sleeping bag, Carrieâs eyes darted t waround the tent. She had been trying to get to sleep when she heard something outside. âRemind me again why Iâm doing this.â She muttered, getting out of her sleeping bag and heading towards the zip in the opening. âIs someone there?â
âi mean, firstly... youâre being paranoid.â though lincoln couldnât help but glance towards the entrance of the tent as he sat next to her, stretching his legs out with a yawn. he wasnât planning on staying, but he did at least want to keep her company until she fell asleep and to keep her relaxed -- at the very least. âi donât know, it wasnât my idea.â he wasnât camping outside, he had too many bad memories of that sort of thing and wasnât looking to get back to that place anytime soon unless he had his wife and children with him. âyouâll be fine.â

alexander absentmindedly scratched at one of the scars on his face, eyes scanning the library for any mistreatment of the books heâd come to love so much. when hazel hues settle upon a familiar, messy haired man, it damn near knocks the breath from him. his feet move before he can really stop himself, coming to a stop behind the son of his best mate. âharry potter, youâve certainly grown.â // closed start for @thcboywholived
it was like his entire world seemed to slow down when he heard that voice --- the one he sat and listened to for months in hogwarts in his third year and who trained him to produce a patronus, that voice who wanted to join him and his best friends on their crazy adventure to find horcruxes before harry angrily called him out on his bullshit (which he still regretted doing to this day), the same voice who asked him to be teddyâs godfather. it was all a rush, but as soon as he spun around to look at the other, lincolnâs eyes widened. âand you... havenât.â his eyes squinted then, not hesitating to step forward for a hug. but as soon as his arms moved around the bloke he considered an uncle, they fell instantly. âteddy.. have you seen teddy?â

flowcrmoons¡:
â â   âDONâT WORRY ABOUT IT,â the girl insisted. âi mean, donât rush or anything. itâs not like iâm going to start breathing fire if someone else is near me.â she shrugged. âbut i definitely wonât turn down free coffee- or a free muffin.â a small smirk crawled across her face as she spoke. she already had half a bagel left in front of her but hey- sheâs always hungry.Â
âlike i said, iâll be gone in fifteen minutes.â and now that he had repeated it, he had to stick to his word and be gone then. he didnât think it would take long anyway, answer a few emails, write down a few numbers so he could call them when he was back at home? it all sounded easy and something he could get done in the time frame. âhey, iâll get you both.â lincoln shrugged, opening up his laptop. âjust a normal coffee then? and any specific muffin you want?â
scriipturam¡:
âreally? sounds a lot like me. i love my food. especially dinner, especially chicken.â he had an image flash to his head. a huge hall with a big banquet spread out, and robes, lots of people wearing robes. but he couldnât place it. ânot really, i own a sweet shop. not exactly the most superman job in the world.â he chuckled. âthe guy who watches the action from down below, probably videoing it and cheering you on.âÂ
he almost replied with a âi know, ronâ but luckily closed his mouth in time to keep him from saying too much. he couldnât do that, not to ron. he knew for certain that ginny was around, and so was molly, but heâd rather ron wake up in his own time. lincoln was sure that it was slowly but surely happening now. âsweet shop? that sounds brilliant. where is it?â he had to make a mental note to go back, hopefully at a better time when his best friend would recognise him. âi think youâd be just as much of a hero. youâd be in on the action!!â

â â Â Â JUST MINUTES AGO the doors to the diner flew open and in flooded a crowd of tourists, each one of them more desperate to get their hands on some food before it was time for their bus to leave. luckily by then, delaney already secured a table. she was pleased to be eating alone but once she accidentally locked eyes with a lonesome local, she sighed.. ââyou can sit down.. â delaney says, eyes motioning towards the empty booth across from her. âif you want.â
the girlâs voice had shocked him for a split second, surprised by the offer. he definitely knew he wouldnât offer up his table if he noticed so many people around, but maybe she had recognised how desperate he was. âiâll be out of your hair in like fifteen minutes.â lincoln promised. âand iâll even pay for a coffee or something.â all he needed to do was send emails for his boss and considering he had no time at all to run home, it had to be done now. âbut cheers, i appreciate it a lot.â

âLong day too?â Noelle asked in a chipper tone to the person beside her at the Chinese take-out counter. It was one of the only eateries open so lateâ that was her excuse for ordering loads of eggrolls and kung-pao chicken. It was her own fault for staying at the studio beyond hours, perfecting her routine for the class sheâd be teaching next week, but she got carried away with things often. Including chatting up people she didnât know. Could she have gotten delivery? Sure. But she felt guilty making someone bring it to her apartment after one in the morning when she was already out. That was just lazy. âIsnât it weird how much better food tastes after midnight?â
âevery day is a long day.â lincoln shrugged, resisting a yawn as best as he could. a mixture of a long work day, along with checking in on family one by one was proving to be tiresome, even though he certainly wasnât complaining. how could he when everything seemed to be working out? his kids and his friends were showing up and lincoln didnât know he could be this happy. things hadnât been this good in so, so long. âhonestly? iâm usually not even awake at this time, but iâll take your word for it about food being better than usual.â

âit feels real.. but it doesnât at the same time. itâs.. itâs a boggle, iâll give it that.â archer wants nothing more than to believe that itâs all real. that itâs all permanent. that he finally gets the chance to get to know the parents heâs been compared to his entire life. but believing in that possibility feels an awful lot like setting himself up to fail. teddy would never have been so cynical about it- but archerâs different. he was brought up differently. âhave you really met your mum ?â he asks, eyes growing twice their size. âblimey. so iâm not the only one having a bit of a weekâŚâ archer shakes his head. heâs in disbelief. even in port vista, his life seems to parallel harryâs. âwas it what you imagined it would be ?â like teddy, he must have thought about it a thousand times. what it would be like to hug his parents. to talk to them in the flesh. âdo you think itâs.. permanent ?âÂ
all he could was nod, not even wanting to confirm it vocally in case he had been imagining the encounter. that was terrifying to think about. but at least teddy knew how he felt and vice versa.. it was something only a few of them would experience and teddy and harry were becoming more and more alike. âsheâs just like i remembered..â he hadnât been afraid to tell his family about what he had experienced over the years once tom had been defeated. whether it had been real, or just his imagination, his view of his mother was just as he expected. âit just felt weird. but a good weird.â archer had been the first person lincoln had opened up to about all of this, having not even told ginny about his experience despite the fact his family would surely run into her soon enough. âour parents being around? i donât know.â he wasnât so sure though. he was fully expecting his mother to slip from his fingers. âif they could turn up, who else could turn up? antonin dolohov? bellatrix lestrange? tom riddle?â lincolnâs hand moved to archerâs shoulder, giving it a quick squeeze. âbe careful, alright? really careful. because we donât know who else is around.â
You know Harryâs a pretty humble guy but you can bet your ass he brags all the fucking time about his friends and family. He probably does it every time someone tries to talk to him about his accomplishments. Like âoh my gosh, youâre Harry Potter-â âyeah I am but have you heard about my sister in law Hermione? She was just featured in Witch weekly as number one in top 30 witches under 30 for her work regarding magical creatures rightsâ âHow does it feel to be the Departments youngest ever head auror?â âI mean it feels like any other job, but did you hear about my wife getting first string for englandâs world cup team this year?â âhow-â âdo you want to see pictures of my kids? my youngest just started Hogwarts. another slytherin but we couldnât be prouder. sheâs going to take the world by storm.â
Like super proud and supportive of his family Harry
dandelionwines¡:
âno, i donât. but now you know how it feels when old people say, âi havenât seen you since you were a wee boy ! since you were this big !ââ archer says. heâs always had an awful memory. his brain, while brilliant, was as clumsy as his feet. thereâs no way that he as a newborn could remember the day his parents didnât come home and he had very little, if any, trauma to remember from his younger days. âstrange is the understatement of the year, harry. iâve never heard of anything like this happening.â archer liked to think he knew his history well and this curse was brand new to him. lincoln had no way of knowing but he was already well aware that his parents were roaming about in town. theyâre the very reason why he avoided everyone from the wizard world but it seems fate had other plans. âiâm⌠fine. a bit in shock, really.â he shook his head. he is still in disbelief over the course of recent events. ââŚmet my father the other day.â father still isnât a word heâs used to saying out loud to other people.Â
ânor have i.â and he was quite pleased in his own head that this hadnât been because of him. he was, however, eager to solve whatever this was and get to the bottom of it all. something dark was going on, and he didnât like it.. especially because people he loved were around and anything could happen to them. âitâs alright to feel that way. itâs just a matter of processing it... because itâs very, very real.â it was terrifying that the dead were roaming around, but he had come to accept the fact that people he loved were all turning up and he had to embrace that time. his gaze turned back to the boy at the mention of remus, blinking a few times as if he misheard the other. yet teddy wouldnât mess around about this. he just wouldnât. âi havenât seen him yet.. but now i really need to.â he wanted a hug.. needed one really. he at least hoped that he had made remus proud, hoped that he realised his son certainly didnât grow up without knowing how spectacular his parents were and didnât grow up in a bad family. or families rather. âthatâs... brilliant.â lincolnâs eyes narrow for a second before he nods. âyeah uh... i met my mum a few days ago too. i know how you feel.â

stephen had to admit that the otherâs accent made him feel better, it was always comforting. his mother was british and her accent always comforted him, despite it diminishing due to her years in the states, but it still reigned true. he simply nodded, tight smile on his face as he started to accept the fact that the accident could have been avoided if both had payed attention, but alas here they were. âeither or they fit you, but i do have to admitâ- glasses i think are always nice.â despite stephen feeling odd with them on. âsure, iâm starving.â
âyou wear glasses so you would say that.â hell, harry would have said the exact same thing. but he was fine with wearing either nowadays considering contacts were a favourite for lincoln and it would be odd for him to just switch over out of no where. âyou sure youâre not always hungry?â linc teased, starting the walk back to his apartment. âiâve got a lot of snacks.. the joys of having a toddler who gets what she wants.â
