About Cavalon Luna
Open RP starters: Oragami butterflies , scattered butterflies
(You see a Young red headed boy who seems to be staring intently at the sliverware that is on one of the monstro lounge, quietly whispering)
“..shiny dinglehopper (˶ˆᗜˆ˵)!”
@partofyourworld-prince
Cavalon, aimlessly wandering by, catches sight of the boy's firey red hair and quietly walks up behind him, a hand raising to gently pet him.
"Pretty colors..." He whispers softly, almost in awe, though his expression is as sad-looking as always.
"Heard it's your birthday... thought you might like these..."
Cavalon offers Finn a handful of origami butterflies, made much better and more uniform than his previous attempts.
– @the--jellyfish--song
Finn takes them carefully and looks them over. His lips quirk up a bit at the recreations of one of his favourite creatures, and nods his head. "Thank you. This is delightful."
"I'm glad you like them," Cavalon smiles softly, feeling quite happy and proud.
Hello, there! Fancy meeting you around here, how’s your day been?
"Hello there... it's been going well.. yours..?"
Mine’s been great! Say, you’re a jellyfish merperson, are you?
"That's wonderful to hear.. I am, yes.."
That’s fascinating, I wonder what your merform is like? Have any pictures of it?
"Thank you.. I don't, unfortunately.."
That’s alright. I’m still glad to see you today.
OOC: Saw that one tag, so I have some art here I found that you can learn how to draw one from. https://bsky.app/profile/hexabeast.bsky.social/post/3lry4phg4vc2i

Club Quest - An open mini Olivine Arc because... I actually dont know what club he should be a part of GFJFJFJFJ.
Note though that this would definitely be taking place early in a semester or at the start of the year, when club/engagement fairs are getting planned and held!
~~~~~~~~
Olivine groaned as he wandered the halls of NRC. Friends were a thing he barely had so far, save for the big lion guy that his parrot-y classmate had introduced him to. And even then, they weren't really friends per se, more just... acquaintances that he had bitten really hard during a fight.
It didnt help that he felt like a fish out of water in this sevens-forsaken school (literally), and he couldn't really bring himself to want to socialize with many people, especially since the last few times he tried, people just wound up asking him dumb questions and getting antsy about the prospects of a piranha mer being friends with them.
The prospect of a club only made it worse. He knew which ones he DIDN'T want to join - mainly those that had people he didnt like in them (read: his dorm mates), but he also had no idea what kind of club he should look into...
He practically shuffled his feet on the floor as he walked, staring at the ground and muttering to himself when he was distracted by the sound of a voice trying to call after him.
Cavalon follows Olivine around for a short while before realizing that perhaps talking would be better for getting attention.
"Hello again... Do you happen to have a club yet..? If not , our lepidopterology club could use more members... butterflies..?"
He offers Olivine a small handful of origami butterflies.
Olivine turned around quickly to see who was speaking to him.
Oh, great.
One of his dormmates.
Though it was one of the ones that didnt make his blood pressure spike, so... well, he wouldn't complain much... he didnt dislike Cavalon as much as the others, so he supposed he could spare the time to chat.
"Yeah, I am... but... what the hell is lepi... lepida... lepido... whatever you just said.?"
"study of butterflies... For now it's just a couple other students and I.. Finn's the one I talk to the most..." Cavalon explains quietly.
"...bugs..." Olivine murmured quietly.
He hadn't had much experience with insects since coming to the land, save for the big bugs on the shore and those that hovered over the river he called home, but...
Well, if it gave him a place to try blending in, it was worth a shot. He wasn't very familiar with butterflies up close, so... he didn't actually know, but he would find out. He'd give it a look, at least...
"...It's an option... and as long as the big three aint there, I'll give it a look..."
"Wonderful ... Don't worry.. Jade has his own club, Floyd is in the basketball club, and Azul's in the boardgames club.."
Cavalon smiles softly.
"Yeah... I wanted to join one of the sports clubs initially, but... well I still aint entirely sure. I knew basketball was a no from the start, though, cause even if I WAS tall enough, that eel is there..." he groaned.
Olivine then shook his head and stood straight.
"Well... guess if you dont mind, I should check out this club...? Might as well find somewhere to hang and hope this vibes."
"Makes sense... Wonderful, follow me," Cavalon smiles softly, walking away towards their clubroom.
Olivine followed as he was instructed, getting the occasional glance from other students, only to shoot glares back in their direction.
"Got it..." he said, eventually winding up shoving his hands in his pocket and shuffling along.
Cavalon walks through the halls, actually focused for once. He occasionally looks over his shoulder to check on Olivine.
Trying to distract himself from going off and biting some poor random student (who would've definitely started it, by the way!!!!), Olivine stared at the ground.
"...you seem pretty locked in... I dont think ive seen you like that before." He grumbled, trying to pick up his pace the tiniest bit.
"Butterflies are one of my favorite things about the surface world... There's so much variety in one group of animals, and they're all so colorful.. It's still hard to believe how many colors are up here," Cavalon explains softly, smiling faintly.
"Colorful? Ah... thats right, youre from the ocean aren't ya?" Olivine asked. "I guess the surface is pretty vibrant, whether you spend a lot of time up here or not..."
Cavalon nods, "Less colors are visible at the depth I'm from, and other colors are more muted than they are up here... it is.."
"I see." Olivine replied. "The rivers im from aren't too dull in terms of color, unless you wanna talk about wildlife. I lived near a pretty vibrant town, though. They really liked fishing in the river, actually..."
There was a hint of disdain in his voice, but he continued.
"They also held a lotta festivals and stuff by the river, though. Lots of music and color there."
"That sounds fun... Though I hope the town didn't overfish..." Cavalon hums softly.
"If only things were that nice." Olivine remarked, but did not go on to explain further.
"...anyways. can you tell me some more about what your club does, maybe?"
"Oh... We track the migrational patterns of butterflies and moths, and their general populations on the island.. We also have a lot of live and dead specimens to study in the clubroom.. A Diasomnia third year helped us plant flowerbeds to attract specific species, too..." Cavalon explains.
"That sounds... complicated." Olivine said, tilting his head. "Plantin stuff to attract them sounds pretty neat, though... Im not any good at gardening, but... I dunno. Could be nice..."
"Don't worry, you won't have to do anything you don't want to do.." Cavalon smiles softly in reassurance.
"Ah... still, I dont really know what I'd be doin... I mean. Im willing to learn and give it a shot but..."
"I'll help you figure it out.." Cavalon offers Olivine one of the origami butterflies they're still holding.
Olivine accepted the small trinket and placed it carefully in his pocket so he could put it in his room later.
"Appreciate it... if I wind up picking this club I won't really know what im doing so... having someone to help me learn the ropes might... be nice."
Cavalon smiles softly, "I'm always glad to help..."
Soon, they arrive at the club room, and Cavalon opens the door, stepping out of the way to let Olivine through.
Along the walls there's terrariums on shelves with caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies, display things of dead butterflies, migrational charts, and a basket of butterfly nets. There's also a couple bookcases of journals, information books, etc. Currently there's no one else in the room.
Olivine stepped in hesitantly, but with a curiosity that still shimmered in his eyes.
"There's a lot goin on here..." he murmured, taking in everything - so many colors that he was used to that were so vibrant and shimmery.
But he couldn't help but be mildly unnerved by the dead bugs on display. They were lovely specimens, some of which he recognized as butterflies that lived near his homeland. It sparked a slight sense of nostalgia for springtime at the shore of the river basin. And at the same time, though....
They were still dead. Which was more than enough to make him feel a bit anxious, but he was certainly going to give checking things out a chance at the least!
Cavalon smiles softly, seeming almost proud. Well, as positive as he can appear when his default expression looks sad..
It didnt help that he felt like a fish out of water in this sevens-forsaken school (literally), and he couldn't really bring himself to want to socialize with many people, especially since the last few times he tried, people just wound up asking him dumb questions and getting antsy about the prospects of a piranha mer being friends with them.
The prospect of a club only made it worse. He knew which ones he DIDN'T want to join - mainly those that had people he didnt like in them (read: his dorm mates), but he also had no idea what kind of club he should look into...
He practically shuffled his feet on the floor as he walked, staring at the ground and muttering to himself when he was distracted by the sound of a voice trying to call after him.
Cavalon follows Olivine around for a short while before realizing that perhaps talking would be better for getting attention.
"Hello again... Do you happen to have a club yet..? If not , our lepidopterology club could use more members... butterflies..?"
He offers Olivine a small handful of origami butterflies.
Olivine turned around quickly to see who was speaking to him.
Oh, great.
One of his dormmates.
Though it was one of the ones that didnt make his blood pressure spike, so... well, he wouldn't complain much... he didnt dislike Cavalon as much as the others, so he supposed he could spare the time to chat.
"Yeah, I am... but... what the hell is lepi... lepida... lepido... whatever you just said.?"
"study of butterflies... For now it's just a couple other students and I.. Finn's the one I talk to the most..." Cavalon explains quietly.
"...bugs..." Olivine murmured quietly.
He hadn't had much experience with insects since coming to the land, save for the big bugs on the shore and those that hovered over the river he called home, but...
Well, if it gave him a place to try blending in, it was worth a shot. He wasn't very familiar with butterflies up close, so... he didn't actually know, but he would find out. He'd give it a look, at least...
"...It's an option... and as long as the big three aint there, I'll give it a look..."
"Wonderful ... Don't worry.. Jade has his own club, Floyd is in the basketball club, and Azul's in the boardgames club.."
Cavalon smiles softly.
"Yeah... I wanted to join one of the sports clubs initially, but... well I still aint entirely sure. I knew basketball was a no from the start, though, cause even if I WAS tall enough, that eel is there..." he groaned.
Olivine then shook his head and stood straight.
"Well... guess if you dont mind, I should check out this club...? Might as well find somewhere to hang and hope this vibes."
"Makes sense... Wonderful, follow me," Cavalon smiles softly, walking away towards their clubroom.
Olivine followed as he was instructed, getting the occasional glance from other students, only to shoot glares back in their direction.
"Got it..." he said, eventually winding up shoving his hands in his pocket and shuffling along.
Cavalon walks through the halls, actually focused for once. He occasionally looks over his shoulder to check on Olivine.
Trying to distract himself from going off and biting some poor random student (who would've definitely started it, by the way!!!!), Olivine stared at the ground.
"...you seem pretty locked in... I dont think ive seen you like that before." He grumbled, trying to pick up his pace the tiniest bit.
"Butterflies are one of my favorite things about the surface world... There's so much variety in one group of animals, and they're all so colorful.. It's still hard to believe how many colors are up here," Cavalon explains softly, smiling faintly.
"Colorful? Ah... thats right, youre from the ocean aren't ya?" Olivine asked. "I guess the surface is pretty vibrant, whether you spend a lot of time up here or not..."
Cavalon nods, "Less colors are visible at the depth I'm from, and other colors are more muted than they are up here... it is.."
"I see." Olivine replied. "The rivers im from aren't too dull in terms of color, unless you wanna talk about wildlife. I lived near a pretty vibrant town, though. They really liked fishing in the river, actually..."
There was a hint of disdain in his voice, but he continued.
"They also held a lotta festivals and stuff by the river, though. Lots of music and color there."
"That sounds fun... Though I hope the town didn't overfish..." Cavalon hums softly.
"If only things were that nice." Olivine remarked, but did not go on to explain further.
"...anyways. can you tell me some more about what your club does, maybe?"
"Oh... We track the migrational patterns of butterflies and moths, and their general populations on the island.. We also have a lot of live and dead specimens to study in the clubroom.. A Diasomnia third year helped us plant flowerbeds to attract specific species, too..." Cavalon explains.
Club Quest - An open mini Olivine Arc because... I actually dont know what club he should be a part of GFJFJFJFJ.
Note though that this would definitely be taking place early in a semester or at the start of the year, when club/engagement fairs are getting planned and held!
