He smirked at Mark, he was still uncomfortable by the heat but at least talking to him would make this experience enjoyable. And who knows? maybe this Mark guy may have some knowledge or stories he could share.

“Or at least that’s what I’m supposed  to do for a living, I’ve been wandering and learning fighting teachniques around the land as of late… Oh and fishing, lots of fishing.”

“Nice, I’m a battle tactician.” Mark said telling Aidan what he was good at. “Well, semi-retired battle tactician, my land is in peace at the moment so no real need for my services. So I do some cartography and diplomacy jobs on the side, let’s me travel all over the worlds with my wife Lyn.”

“Fishing, hm. Would you happen to be from that new land that was discovered recently, Fodlan was it? I’m just assuming because I’ve heard there is a lot of fishing there.” Mark pondered.

Aidan shook his head

“Mmm mm, I’m Nohrian my mother is a noble from the south, close to Cheve and my father came from the north. Though I’m aware there’s another ‘me’ from a kingdom of another world called Ylisse. It’s weird because he looks just like me, and he only difference is that he’s a couple years younger... I try not to think about that a lot, it ruins my focus.”

He sighed again but this time he did it with pleasure, it seemed his appreciation for the sauna started to grow.

“And what about you, Mark? Got any story you’d like to share?”

(from the-aspiring-master) "Ah, all this skating on ice made me hungry..." Aidan wandered around the ice skating court after hour of sliding and falling on the ice, mostly on falling. It was there when he caught sight of a vending stall. "Hey you, you sell food right?"

“We absolutely do! Just opened our stall up in fact! Sofia, can you-”

“Can I what!? I’m trying to bake!”

“Uhh, never mind, take a complimentary cookie and hot chocolate while you decide!”

“They’re very good brownies, even our mom says so.”

“Hmm interesting offer… And well, who am I to contradict the words of a mother?”

Aidan smirked at the child’s confidence,it reminded of himself not so long ago when he started his career as a mercenary; with effort, meeting the right people and a pinch of luck this . He put his cookie and cup on the counter so he could reach his pouch, from it he pulled his bag of coins.

“… Nevertheless I’d like to try them myself, I’ll have 6 brownies please! How much would it be?”

“Two hundr-”

“Ten gold, please. Thank you!”

“There you go!”

Aidan picked ten gold coins from his bag and left them on the counter, he quickly finished eating the cookie and grabbed the brownies.

“Thank you very much and I wish you a good day!”

Aidan reclined and sighed trying to relax a bit in the middle of the hot mist.

“It’s just that I feel like I’m getting cooked you know? You seem to take it easy, this surely isn’t your first time in a place like this, is it?”

“You’re my kind of guy then.” Mark said with a chuckle as he put his hands behind his head to relax. Then they guy asked if this was his first time in a sauna like this and he was honest about it.

“It isn’t, it does get some getting used to, but once you try it a few times it’s just like being wrapped in a warm blanket.” He noted. “My name is Mark by the way, what’s yours?”

Unlike a few of her fellow friends, allies, and heroes, Nora…wasn’t great at ice skating. Sure she could maneuver it if she needed to walk over it or fly over it with Agro, but not with these ice shoes constantly messing up her balance.

And she had just gotten up from the ice a third time when she heard the yell.

Coming…right…at her!

“CRAP!!”

CRASH!

She had little time to get out of the way; both now crashed into each other and ending up in the show next to the rink.

“Oowww….”

That was gonna hurt.

Aidan rubbed his head with his eyes shut. Going ice skating with no previous knowledge was a big mistake. When he opened his eyes he realized he indeed crashed against another person. He got back on his feet slowly as he didn’t want to fall for not balancing on his ice skates and offered his hand to help her get up too.

“Ah- hey, are you alright? I am so sorry...”

He then took a sip at the chocolate, it was indeed hot but the flavor mad it up to be enjoyable. After taking a few more bites and sips he looked at the menu and it was the brownies that caught his attention.

“So, do you sell the brownies by piece or in packs of 6 or 12 or something like that?”

Ice skating open starter

“(There’s an ice skating court? I’ve never gone to one before but it sure sounds fun!)”

Aidan thought to himself as he caught sight of the court. He was no stranger to cold winters but the mere idea of sliding on ice using bladed shoes sure intrigued him. He walked to the skate rental stall and took a look at the variety of available skates.

“Now... which size should I put on?”

Hey again, it’s Mod Hector! And been while too, huh? So the mods and I have agreed to plan on something different this time around. Instead of starting something on the solstice, we’re planning for a New Year related event next January! It’s in the works right now, so we’re deciding on what the festivities will entail for it.

So with that said, if you’re interested in participating, please feel free to like, reblog and/or reply to this post! We’d greatly appreciate you spreading the word around too!

We’re aiming for something more relaxing and everyone to just wind down as we start off a brand new year. But as always, we’ve got a few special things in mind, so we’ll keep you posted!

Still not sure where the voice came from, Aidan turned around a couple times keeping his sword in a defensive position.

“I would certainly do that if you were an enemy…”

He stopped turning and stood upright, holding his sword only with one hand.

“… But enemies seldom speak before attacking. I’ll cut you a deal: I will drop my sword and you will show yourself. No tricks.”

Has cast his sword aside, leaving it around 10 feet away from him and opened his arms.

“Deal?”

“Fine…” the woman spoke as she exited the forest line. She had a rather normal outfit, but something that obviously spoke to her not being some average person. Large, black feathered wings protruded from her back. “Heh. Now you so sure you can trust me, human?”

“Hmm. As long as you don’t have a dagger behind your back.”

He then smirked stepping forward and offered his hand for a handshake

“My name is Aidan, and I’m a mercenary... May I ask who are you, or rather what are you? No offense, it’s just it’s the first time I see someone of your kind.”
