From experience, If you have symptom holder headmates it's important to let them/encourage them to have an identity and life outside of symptom holding. Not only are you basically expecting them to be Miserable 100% Of The Time if you don't, their survival also becomes directly tied to your symptoms.

The idea of going dormant can be really distressing! The symptom holder might, consciously or unconsciously, willingly exacerbate your symptoms to ensure that they continue to live.

semi-unidentified plural (really just.. struggling to come to terms with some aspects of your plurality) is still struggling to actually accept you experience amnesia.

Like noooo I never black out and wake up somewhere else, so I don't have any amnesia. At all. I'm just going to ignore the fact that I often realize that I don't remember huge chunks of previous days, or that that one day one of my headmates spent fronting is really fuzzy with no emotional attachment to the memories at all. Since I don't ever black out completely, I have no amnesia whatsoever !!!!!

Unidentified plurality is our host going dormant for 2 months after splitting me from stress, and me and the one other headmate who was there at the time still not noticing we were 3 people!

“Yeah I’m just using this accent for shits and giggles and since it feels right rn” HM. Yeah sure is STRANGE. Maybe it feels right because the guy with an ACCENT is fronting.

“All my depressed feelings and mental health problems suddenly disappeared this is great!” Younger me. You split to have all the joy and whimsy that our host doesn’t. We barely feel negative emotions still. It took that shit with it when it left.

when the host got back it was even confused about how it was two months later and why it felt better. Girlypop you took a long ass nap and now have someone lurking with every ounce of joy in the world. The worst part is we were obsessed with learning about DID and plurality and continued learning about it and denying our plurality for another 4 MONTHS.

Our original host and most of the original system has been gone for years and I’m half sure they took all ability to feel fear about the future with them XD I can NOT feel that shit -Dean

Yeah sure, in honor of mother's day, you should know that a dragoness can be much, much more caring, loving, and giving mother than the one you were cursed with.

A dragoness will be sure that, if you have any insecurities, they are assuaged. That if you have and fear, it is defeated. That if you have any burdens, you are helped. That if you have any needs, they are met.

Yes a dragon is a terrifying creature of power. But if you need it, that power will give you strength and be at your back, always.

A new split hasn't left me alone for a few days now and has just kind of. started therapizing me(is that even a fucking word?) and he's making me realize and accept some things. every time we fucking talk I start crying and im angry about it why am i like this. He says he's concerned for me. Yeah dude! I am struggling right now! Because of YOU and the other fuckers who showed up! I'm fucking stressed, my head hurts SO bad and YOU aren't leaving me alone! I'm handling all the outside problems basically alone. Nobody is coming to fucking help me. Nobody is coming to fucking save me. Nobody. I have to do it myself and I shouldnt HAVE to and that's why I'm prickly and quiet and cold and whatever the fuck right now. Everyone has their place and I guess mine is the fuckin pilot seat. Forever.

when I start doubting my plurality I remember that pretty much everyone experiences some sort of compartmentalization/separation of the self. Plurality isn’t a yes or no question, it’s a spectrum of just how much those parts are separated—which means that, no matter where you are along that spectrum, if it is helpful to you to name and describe those parts, there is no reason not to. always live in the way that helps you most :)
