this is a plurality sideblog for @oddest-specimen, but we’re not openly plural on that blog—still happy to interact there, though
our host is fledge (🍂)! since we are a suspected p-did collective, we cannot fully switch. thus, fledge will always be at least somewhat in front to speak to people and answer questions.
other member intros are below!
Red (☄️) - Our anger holder, persecutor, and protector. She/her. Loves hanging out with people, but doesn’t tolerate bs. Very reachable if you want to talk to her!
Soleil/Sol (☀️) - Our primary “day shift” caretaker. They/them. Very parental towards my friends and loves to cheer people up. Our own personal disappearing act—disappears as soon as they’re not needed, so might not always be reachable.
Mako (🦈) - Our energizer and socializer. He/they. Loves loves LOVES making friends and is always up for a chat!!! Also ADORES sharks. Is extremely reachable but not always the best at in-sys communication.
Silhouette/Haze (🌑) - Our “night shift” caretaker and apathy/dissociation holder. It/they/any. Blunt and apathetic, but genuinely very caring if you’re a friend. Semi-reachable, usually easier to reach at nighttime.
Gavroche/Gav (🧸) - Our 8 y/o little. He/him. Gets his name and appearance from Gavroche from Les Miserables, but mostly brainmade. The sweetest and most timid little kid you will ever meet, and loves making new friends! Pretty reachable.
Phoebe (🩰) - Our depression and panic holder. She/her. Due to her nature, she may not always been open to interaction or safe to interact with, but she always appreciates a comforting presence. Not very reachable if she’s not close to front.
Camellia (🌼) - Our femininity holder and soother. She/her. She’s very friendly and loves to make new friends she can laugh and joke with! Pretty reachable.
Henry (🧪) - A fictive of Henry Jekyll from The Glass Scientists and our secondary caretaker. He/him. He’s very caring and friendly, and would love to find more people to interact with. Very reachable.
Angelique/Carmen (🌹) - Collects nicknames like Pokemon cards. Split from Camellia and has a very deep soulmate-like bond with her. Femininity holder. She/her. May be flirty and/or sarcastic, but genuinely very caring and loving. Pretty reachable.

New York was awesome!!!!!! I had the privilege of seeing 4 shows there (Hadestown, death of a salesman, the play that goes wrong, and the lost boys) and went on my own little adventure through Central Park and to the Met. Ughhhhhh it was so fun and I had the time of my LIFE there

just now realizing that your parents calling you “mean angry [name]” when you had outbursts like an angry little kid and then “sweet wonderful [name]” when you got scared and apologized and hugged them and treating those two like totally separate people that could “leave” and “come back” might not be. a normal experience. and also might not be particularly conducive to a singular existence
i need to get off tumblr i’m at the aquarium admiring the fish and my brain goes “posts that make you want to get in the water” what are you talking about. these are live fish in the room with you. what post.
Ask from @hysteriarose on my main! Posted here in image form since I’m not open about plurality stuff there but I still found this very very valuable information :D thank you very much for the ask!
when I start doubting my plurality I remember that pretty much everyone experiences some sort of compartmentalization/separation of the self. Plurality isn’t a yes or no question, it’s a spectrum of just how much those parts are separated—which means that, no matter where you are along that spectrum, if it is helpful to you to name and describe those parts, there is no reason not to. always live in the way that helps you most :)
Something that always bothers me in mental health spaces is the fear of relating too much to each-other across the lines of different disorders. Too many times I've met people who are not dissociative systems, but have dissociative experiences (such as from BPD), and they trip over themselves saying "no no, I mean, I don't REALLY understand what you go through, my thing is totally different," and it makes me a little upset. Disorders are just clusters of symptoms packaged together in a certain way, that's why the names and criteria often change across DSM and ICD editions, and viewing them as entirely exclusive clubs where only they could possibly understand anything about each other isn't a particularly healthy way of seeing it. The lines between disorder labels are blurrier than you think. You are not being a bad person or overstepping for relating to symptoms of a disorder, or people with a disorder, without having their specific label. Very rarely (if ever, frankly) is there a symptom that can only occur in one disorder, or even one type of disorder. Psychosis can occur in countless circumstances. Dissociation and identity compartmentalization can occur in countless circumstances. It's better to focus more on your specific symptoms and building community with your fellow neurodivergent people, using the resources that help you regardless of if they were specifically made for your diagnosis, over worrying about whether or not you're "allowed" to relate to something or experience something similarly to someone else.
*cowboy voice* heard ye was lookin fer some plural mutuals...
plural mutuals? *tips up the brim of my cowboy hat, lowers my bandanna from my nose and mouth* I haven’t herd anyone say those werds in years…but we’d be more’n pleased to have another pardner(s) in crime.
💔: people love to make fun of Henry purely because he’s British as all hell so. probably him. either that or red because I keep having to restrain her from cussing people out
🥀: mako. absolutely no contest. it’s terrible.
📈: haze. their job is to shut up our brain to get us to go to sleep and they’re. almost too good at it. like Mako and I will be having a conversation and then I just hear “I DON’T FUCKING CARE. GO TO SLEEP.”
