May I ask, who is thy 'mother'? They must be quite... merciful, to grant you all a home like this one..."

*Twoey didn’t really know how to respond, or even react, to the being in front of them. She could sense that they were otherworldly, even more so than the other visitors that she had met. She continued to just stare for a moment before deciding to just answer their question.*

Twoey: I mean, she’s our mom. She’s supposed to give us the best stuff… at least that’s what she always says.

"Mya hwaii!" she waves. Somehow, she looks at her with a bit of a confusion, she looks at the garden.

"Berries? Flowers? Whoa, haven't seen them, especially after I've became a city resident. Oh, the lab has a garden, but it's not functional as for now... Anyway, what varieties of them are you growing? And can I have some (probably berries)? If not, that's alright."

*Opal had led the Meowstic outside to the garden that she had set up a long time ago. One side had a berry bushes growing upon it and the other had different types of flowers and herbs. It was basically a mini farm!*

Opal: We already have more than any of us or the Pokemon that live here can eat! So you’re free to pick as much as you can carry. Here, you can even have a basket.

*A pink hue surrounded Opal’s hand and a nearby basket. The basket seemed to move with her hand, leading it over to the Pokemon in front of her.*

Opal: I guess the only rule would be not to take anything from a pile. Wild pokemon could be in there and attack you cause they got spooked, Y’know?

Capital approached the two, but their attention seemed centered on Twoey only. They looked at her, and tilted their head to one side. "Are you sure of your typing?" they asked rather bluntly. "I can sense something else within you.. a different typing." They tapped her on the chest, near where the heart would be. "Were you aware of this?"

*Twoey lowered her eyes and seemed to stand down at the presence of this pokemon. Opal had no reservations, however. She stood there eyeing up the Hoopa with a suspicious glace and crossed arms.*

Opal: Mind explaining? Also, please don’t touch my sister without permission.

Twoey: It’s fine, sis. Don’t worry… I think they’re telling me that I have another typing?

*Twoey tilted her head at Capital. The original weariness she had melted away upon seeing that they weren’t a threat.*

Twoey: Ooh, is it like a Tera type of whatever they call them?? That’d be so cool!

Twoey: My favorite are rawst berries! Their bitterness just hits the spot!

Opal: I guess that if I had to choose a “favorite”, it’d be chesto berries. Kinda simple, but still good.

Hey Flatline, have you already talked about the strange way you both were transported here?

(Mew thinks about this for a moment. So it wasn’t the Wormhole phenomenon like they thought, where the portals are ripped open at random… it was an actual being that brought them here consciously? But why? And why didn’t Mew sense them at all? They usually sense the presence of ANY powerful Pokémon warping the boundaries between universes, so…)

(…What exactly ARE they?)

Mew: “Can you describe them for us? Maybe that’ll help.”

(Flatline goes quiet, recalling the creature that had appeared before them. It all happened so quickly, but from the details they can remember…)

Flatline: “…They were small. Bigger than you, but not by much. They were some sort of… beagle artist? Or something? Some sort of dog, at least. They had this weird hat - was it a hat? I couldn’t really tell - and a really long tail that looked like a paintbrush at the end.”

Flatline: “They were this light blue color, with these ashy brown markings, and two sets of… ears, maybe? I don’t know. But they had this pattern on their face that looked… like a mask…”

(As Flatline speaks, they begin to realize something. They trail off, their gaze landing on someone specific.)

Mewtwo: “…Lucario?”

Lucario: “Me????”

(Mewtwo moves to stand next to Lucario, suddenly more tense. He knows that reasonably, they AREN’T accusing her at all - but he can’t help but feel a little defensive anyways when they call her out like that.)

(Thankfully for him, Flatline is quick to clarify and diffuse the tension before it rises any further.)

Flatline: “Well - not EXACTLY like you, of course. But they had the face markings and the round, steel bits on their forearms and all that.”

Mewtwo: “…Huh.”

(Mewtwo stops holding his breath, his protective instinct backing off.)

(But while Flatline is talking…)

Mewtwo: “…A Riolu? Are you sure?”

Cyzon: “Positive. Or, well - at least part Riolu. It looked like one, but not fully. Like a hybrid.”

Cyzon: “The other part must’ve been Smeargle- it explains the beret and the paintbrush tail… God, I can’t believe I didn’t even recognize it!”

Flatline: “Uh… are those powerful? Like, sending-you-to-another-universe powerful?”

Mew: “No. Or they shouldn’t be. Lucario evolved from a Riolu - and she can’t do ANYTHING like that. That kind of power can only be used by the most powerful Legendaries and Mythicals…”

Flatline, internally: ‘…Okay, um. I don’t know what HALF of that means. But it sounded important at least, so…’

[mod note: at long last, we’re in the final stretch for this event!! i know it’s been a WHILEEE since this whole thing started- but we’re almost there \o/

i may or may not answer any more asks for this event, btw- i want to wrap it up with a comic like how i started it, and i wanna focus my energy on that so i don’t burn out again. so if you send in an ask and it doesn’t get answered, please don’t feel bad - it’s just for my own sanity KHSJXHD

( @shaymincafe ) ShayingStar: So if only people with the blessing of Mew can reach this island, does that mean only your mother can permit others to visit? Or are there other Mew out there who could do the same?

Twoey: It’s not like I’ve met them, but our mom says that there’s more mews out there. Like maybe… 10 on the whole planet? They just prefer to keep to themselves, so it’s less common for them to bless others like our mom has.

You don’t even need a blessing if you’re deemed “pure of heart”! Don’t ask me what that means, cause I don’t know either. Those I’ve met through is pretty nice!

I think that there are other islands and places that you can only access with the blessing of a legendary, but this one is specially for mews!

Prime: "How fascinating! I come from Faraway Island as well in my universe! Yours seems a little different from mine, however. Do you mind me asking why?"

*Opal seemed to stare at the strange pokemon in front of her for a moment, as if she was considering something. She shook her head and went back to focusing on their question.*

Opal: S-sorry, yeah, we’ve made Faraway Island into a little home for ourselves!

Twoey: You’re more than welcome to take a look around! Most of our resources was brought in either by our mom or one of the top trainers from the mainland.

*Twoey opened the door to their cabin and motioned for Prime to come in and Opal followed.*

Twoey: Pretty nice if I say so myself! We mainly stay here or go exploring around the island, but sometimes we will fly to the mainland to look around. Don’t worry! We have disguises!

( @asktheisle ) Luxu: Whoa! So if the uh, what were they-the gene stuff got mixed up, does that mean your type changed too? Or are you still a psychic type?

Twoey: While I’m primarily a psychic type, I also carry the normal typing. Doesn’t really do much except making me immune to ghosts.

Opal is different! She’s a pure psychic type, which is weird cause she isn’t exactly a pokemon. Though I guess he isn’t really a human either…

*Opal seems to shift slightly and look away at the mention of her being human. A small frown is present on her face. It seems like this is a bit of a sore subject for her.*

Kutsuki floats up to the pair, smiling. Hello! Where are we? Oh, and I'm Kutsuki!

Opal: I mean, that’s kind of impossible to do. You can only find this place if you have a pure heart or the blessing of a mew, right?

Twoey: Not these guys! They’re from other universes, so some of our rules don’t apply here! At least that’s what mother said. Didn’t you listen to her when she told us this stuff?

Opal: No… not really. I think I fell asleep…

*Twoey huffed and rolled her eyes before turning her attention to Kutsuki. She smiled and summoned a map out of seemingly nowhere.*

Twoey: You’re in Hoenn right now. Specifically on a place called Faraway Island. It’s pretty exclusive. Like my sister said, you can normally only find your way here with the blessing of a mew or if ya have a pure heart. Even me or Opal wouldn’t be able to find our way back here when we go on excursions if we weren’t blessed by our mom!

You’re just from outside of here, so some of the rules don’t apply to you. The big ones do apply, so don’t go running around Willy-nilly though.

Opal: That isn’t confusing at all…

Twoey: It wouldn’t be if you didn’t snooze while mom teaches us…

"Oh, hi there!" she approaches the duo, but the focus in that red Mewtwo over here. "You look pretty different from that Mewtwo I saw online. Do you know why are you red? And what about the Riolu / Lucario marking on your face? Or you weren't Lucario at all?

Mewtwo: I guess that they accidentally messed up a genome or something cause I came out more cute and cuddly than scary and brooding!

Don’t get me wrong through, I can still pack a punch!

*Mewtwo playfully held a hand up to Anita, a strong red glow began to radiate from it. After a moment, she put their hand back down.*

Mewtwo: As for my markings, mew dna is the origin of all life here, so I technically am part Lucario. And Eevee. And Squirtle. And…

“Hello!” It called, waving at them from his height above them. “My name is Cumulous, but you can call me CC! Who might you two be?”

*The pair’s conversation stopped in an instant at the presence of this green mew. They froze in place and let the mew finish their intro before the human started to talk.*

???: Oh, that’s another mew. Are you here for mother? Cause she’s out and-

???: No worries! CC here is just a visitor from another universe! I can sense it in their aura! I think they’re just here to say hi, that’s all!

*The red pokemon floats over to excitedly shake CC’s hand.*
