Vegas...Dreams? [@Ikkaku]
Well he certainly was handling this a lot better than she initially had. Konan sat with her back to the wall, watching as he struggled to wake up. A faint smile touched her features for a moment, was he always this hard to wake up in the mornings? Would the raging temper come out once he was fully alert to what was going on? He certainly didn’t seem thrilled for her to be there.
Not that he had any reason to be.
She scanned the room, hoping that they at least had some sort of belongings packed and sent along with them to wherever the hell it was they were at. All she knew was they were in a big city and in some hotel called The Palazzo. Swinging her legs off her little perch, she stood back up when she spotted a suitcase and walked across the room to open it up and go through it.
Telling him flat out the rest of what she knew would no doubt be a very bad idea, so she threw caution to the wind. Pawing through the suitcase, she glanced back up at him for a moment. “Remember when we woke up on the island last year?" She glanced back down, pulling out the familiar ensemble she always wore underneath her Akatsuki cloak and draped it over her arm.
"Lets just say, we’re not at Iwakiri right now…."
She padded towards the bathroom to change, giving him a moment to get all ‘bright eyed and bushy tailed’ before dropping the bomb on him. Maybe she wouldn’t have to at all…the marriage certificate was in plain sight on the bedside table after all.
Groaning a bit more and absentmindedly trying to get the mysterious ring off his finger, he cracked his neck by thrusting it side to side, the sound loud and harsh. Stretching his muscular arms and torso, making more sighs. Blinking several times, seeing Konan go into the bathroom of wherever they were, he flung the sheets off of his large frame and set his feet on the floor.
Stretching once again, he inspected his finger with the ring on it again. He had never been around people who were married, so he didn't think of the actual meaning of this garment immediately, so he just kept trying to get it off. He could hardly remember his parents. Nor could he remember if they were even in love or any of that nonsense.
The only parent he could envision in his head was his mother. She had dark brown hair, bright blue eyes...but she died when he was very young. He basically raised himself. He never saw his father. Out on his own he became a harsh person. Blunt, severe, and tough. He hardly knew anything about marriage...
Sighing and giving up on taking off the ring, he glanced over at the side table and saw the paper sitting there. There, clear as day, was their two names and his attached to hers. The title stated very clearly what the document meant. His eyes glued to it, they widened and he gulped, taking it in hand quickly and reading it.
Standing up tall, he looked around the room and looked at the suitcases on the floor haphazardly.
"....What the FUCK is going on!"
He threw the paper on the floor and walked over to the door where she was changing, knocking loudly.
"You have some explaining to do, woman!"
Vegas...Dreams? [@Ikkaku]
Bzzzzt! Bzzzzt! Bzzzt! Bzzzzzt! Stirring beneath the sheets, the woman groaned softly and buried her face further into her pillow. Konan always woke up a good fifteen minutes before her alarm; so the fact that it’s incessant buzzing was going off meant she had possibly over slept. Not that she remembered setting it in the first place..nor changing it from bells chiming to the obnoxious noises it was making now.
Normally either one or all three of her cats would be eager to wake her up for not only their breakfast, but hers as well since she had a bad habit of feeding them scraps. And she wondered why Grimm and Berlioz were getting so fat. But on this morning, she didn’t feel the familiar warmth of their bodies curled up in their usual spots around her. Her lips tilted in a small frown and while blinking the sleep out of her eyes she reached across her bed to beckon them…
And quickly discovered there was instead a human body beside her instead of her feline companions.
”?!"
The covers fell away from her as she bolted upright, staring down at the all too familiar form beside her. Her mind was racing as she tried to remember how the hell they wound up in this situation. Reflecting on what happened a year prior, Konan instantly glanced down at her wrist as though she were expecting to see a pair of handcuffs connecting his wrist to her own.
There was a glint of silver alright, along with a little metal band wrapped snugly around her ring finger. It felt a lot lighter than the Akatsuki ring neighboring on her middle finger, but this one had a little gemstone on it…..Like it was….No. No way. Not possible. Her hand trembled as she leaned over Ikkaku and swallowed hard when she noticed a similar band on his own finger.
What. The hell. Was going on!?
Konan snuck out of bed as quietly as she could, dragging the top blanket away and draping it around herself while trying not to disturb him in the process. She nearly jumped out of her skin when the buzzing started all over again. She whirled around, searching for the source of the noise. It wasn’t the alarm after all, but instead the phone.
Snatching it off of the receiver, she covered the mouth piece and listened as the person..well more like machine on the other end announced the name of the hotel they were staying as well as this call being the complimentary wake up call she apparently placed. Absorbing what little she had learned in those first confusing moments of waking up, Konan hung the phone up and paused when she noticed a certificate on the bedside table.
More specifically; a marriage certificate, confirming that she was now Mrs. Madarame.
Oh you’re going to love this, cueball….
Ember hues drifted back to his sleeping form, wincing slightly as she turned away and moved towards the window. Peeking through a crack in the blinds, she observed everything outside and was still trying to remember what the hell could have happened the previous evening. Running a hand through her messy tresses, she let out a quiet sigh and rest her forehead against the glass, murmuring a soft “Morning handsome…" when she heard Ikkaku stirring again.
This was sure to be an interesting morning to say the least.
Ikkaku was a decently heavy sleeper. He had been dreaming about his days in the Soul Society and the Rikongai...those were the good memories and the good ol' days. His breathing was slow and steady as he had more dreams that made him so nostalgic. Maybe he would head back there someday since nothing was really happening at the school.
Hearing and feeling some things that were starting to wake him a bit more, he flipped over onto his stomach, head turned on the pillow, slightly asleep now.
Now that he started to wake up, his eyes flickered open slightly, seeing a glint of some sort of metal on his hand. Not processing it, he snoozed until he shifted once again, waking up slowly...
Then he heard that voice.
His eyes fluttered open more this time, noticing the glint again. Looking at it more it looked like a ring. Yup. It was a ring. It was gold and very shiny...and expensive looking. He grunted and sat up a little quickly, rubbing his forehead a bit as he squinted in the streak of light that came from the crack in the blinds.
"...wha-.....what are you doing here....errrrh"
He rubbed his eyes layed back down.
Send me Ω and I'll tell you:
My muses thoughts on yours.
My muses relationship to yours.
What my muse would do if yours died.
How my muse really feels about yours.
Lulling by the Lakeside (Tema/Ikkaku)
Ikkaku sighed pleasantly and removed his shirt, feeling the cool air against his skin. Breathing slowly, he was slightly falling asleep when he heard a familiar voice break the silence and ring into his ears. laying on his back instead of being propped up on his elbows, he looked up at the woman standing over him, smiling gently. Temari. He always did like her spunk and her demeanor. Not many people can pass with Ikkaku immediately.
When she asked the question, he sighed and closed his eyes, a breeze fluttering over then.
"Working out. Jogging. Weight liftin’. What the hell does it look like."
Halfway through his sarcastic sentence, he opened one painted eye and his smile returned to his usual smirk. A slightly bigger breeze made the grass dance around his body.
"What about you?"
"Going for a swim, smartass. There’s this thing called ‘exercise’, maybe you’ve heard of it?" Temari shot back, half in the mind to hoof Ikkaku in his bare side. Why couldn’t Shikamaru take his shirt off everytime she walked up to him?
Looking down at her bandmate, she conducted a brief inner debate. All their conversations leading up to this point had been about as friendly as ‘carry it yourself’ and ‘you headed to Hisagi’s after?’ Konan had had dealings with him too, Temari recalled, but brushed the detail aside as quickly as she’d remembered it. She barely had dealings with Konan herself anymore.
"You wanna come?" she asked, as keen to have someone to talk to as she was to have someone to torment. “You can swim, can’t you?"
Ikkaku listened silently as he lulled on the shoreline, the smirk still prominent on his thin lips. He had talked to Temari a bit, but not frequently. Maybe it was a good time to catch up and/or talk.
Opening one eye at the last question, he smiled a handsome grin WITH TEETH believe it or not.
"Of course I can swim, but it sounds a bit romantic, don'cha think? Haha."
He sat up and looked at her.
"Thought you had a boyfriend. Cuz who knows, I mean..." He gestured to his naked torso, "...no woman can resist this hot mess right here. You are entering dangerous waters. Pun Intended."
Chuckling to himself, the bald man stood up and looked down at his jeans. It didn't seem like the most perfect thing to go swimming in...well, he did have his boxers of course, but that would be kinda...cold. He processed what he could do.
Melancholy Days
Ikkaku was meandering through the woods, trying to clear his head a bit after all the stuff that has happened and after being gone for so long. His bald shiny head reflected in the sun as he stepped deeper into the green.
It was always his way of unwinding, going for a nice walk. He had no idea that there was someone else also enjoying the scenery and and woods.
Approaching a tree where the other person was, although he wasn’t aware, he stopped as soon as they made their presence known. Tilting his head a bit to the side, he cocked an eyebrow up and cleared his throat a bit.
"…Walking. What does it look like I’m doing. Not like you own the forest."
What was with this chick. So on edge.
"I may not own the damn forest, but I sure as hell don’t like having people sneak up on me like that." She responded, turning over fully in order to see who exactly this person was. Apacci didn’t recognize him. She was fairly certain if she had met him before, she wouldn’t have forgotten that shiny head of his. It was definitely hard to miss. And not to mention the weird marks over his eyes. It was as if he was wearing make-up.
These, however, weren’t the only aspects of him that stood out. His spiritual pressure did as well, granted it was dampened by his use of a gigai. Still, it was easy to tell that the man before her was a Shinigami.
"—Weird. I didn’t think many of the losers back at the academy actually walked here. Most of them are so caught up in their dumb shit anyway…"
Ikkaku was taken aback a bit bit the girl's remarks. Oh great. Another person who was on edge all the time. The school was chuck full of them. Rolling his eyes as she spoke, thrusting his head to the side and cracking his neck loudly, he sighed and focused back on the girl in front of him.
"Look, lady. You're obviously an arrancar. I can just tell, but I ain't here to fight you or anyone else...except maybe this one guy that bugs the shit out of me."
He thought of Shuren and how that little shit just made him smile with the urge to give him a good kick in the face, but that's beside the point.
"Everyone at this school has drama it seems and all I want right now is to escape all of that 'dumb shit' that you just mentioned."
Obviously not caring whether or not he was in danger, which he was too cocky to think he wasn't, but hey, that's Ikkaku, he walked right past her and grabbed the branch of a thick tree, gracefully lifting himself into it and slumping onto in in a lazy fashion.
"You've got a good head on your shoulders if you come out here to get away. Anyone who does that is ok in my book. So what's your name?"
Lulling by the Lakeside
Ikkaku carried his new bag of groceries and clothes from the nearby town over his shoulder, slouched a bit as he walked back to the dorm rooms, entering the school gates with a sigh.
He had been gone for a while. A good while, and was wondering what was up at the lazy school on this nice cool evening. The sun was going down and he was very tired, starting to yawn from his eventful day and long trip back to what was now his home.
He missed the Soul Society and all its happenings. Frankly he had been going soft with all of the drama and shit.
BUT he was over it now.
Clean slate.
No more pathetic emotional crap.
Reaching his dorm, he opened the door and set his things inside. Inspecting his bags, there was nothing perishable, so he decided to take a walk. It was too nice.
Once out, after an hour, he was laying on the hill overlooking the lake just off campus. His eyes fluttered shut, listening to the light breeze through the trees and grass and the pleasant rolling sounds of the water on the banks of the lake.
Peaceful.
On the path to the lake, where it crested the swell of a small hill, Temari swapped her purple beach towel from one hand to the other and paused to admire the view. Rays of sunlight spilled across the landscape, touching her hair and glittering on the water. It was a gorgeous evening, perfect for a swim, and the Suna-nin aimed to take full advantage.
Further along the hillside, she spotted a familiar figure lounging in the grass, his rouged eyes half lidded in repose. A huff parted Temari’s lips. She was surrounded by layabouts.
"Why is it so rare to run across a man doing anything productive around here?" she asked when she was close enough, brushing the strings of her halter top off her shoulder as she came to a stop with the sun behind her back and her shadow stretched over Ikkaku. “What you doing way out here, drummerboy?"
Melancholy Days
The forest. She had only heard stories or seen pictures of it before, but she had never actually ventured out of the school grounds to see it; until now. Apacci had only done so out of sheer boredom and unwillingness to attend the rest of her classes that day. The Fraccion had actually been skipping her classes more so than usual recently, finding that not even they served to entertain her—not that they ever truly had. The only reason she had actually bore through them was because she had the company of Yylfordt or either one of her sisters.
But ever since the day of that dance, it seemed as though they had all just gone missing. At first she thought nothing of it, deciding maybe it was best to get a break from them all. However, as the days progressed into weeks, Apacci began to realize that something was wrong. Not only were they nowhere to be seen, but their spiritual pressure—no matter how damped it may be due to their gigai—seemed to have vanished as well. Had they perhaps left the school entirely? She didn’t know and was certain that no one would know anything about it either.
Apacci let out a sigh and leaned against a tree not too far from where she had stopped, gazing out at the scenery as an attempt to clear her mind. It did her no good to be caught up in such thoughts anyway, especially when they had consumed her brain for the past few weeks. Still, she couldn’t help but—
[Crack]
Her entire figure became rigid as she heard a sound behind her, almost as if someone was heading her way, breaking small twigs and branches as they walked. Apacci didn’t remember having told anyone to accompany her, so whoever it was had most likely followed her here. Her mismatched eyes narrowed as she turned around slightly, just enough to catch a glimpse of this intruder.
"—The hell are you doing here?"

No.
*Packs him several lunches with delicious home cooked contents for the week*

YOHO! SO LUCKY!
OH SHIT OH GOD MOTHER FUCK SHIT BALLS
Oh look at him, standing there looking as stricken as he did. He must be horrified, trying to get through such a large mass of people! But wait! Where was he going? He didn’t even say hello to her! Ikkaku wasn’t a rude man, oh no!
“….Darling?”
The brunette began pushing her way through the crowd, trying to reach him. “Darling, wait! Stop walking so fast!”
Ikkaku finally broke though the crowds of the hallway and proceeded to walk faster when he quickly glanced over his shoulder to see the look on Mizuho's face.
...he felt a bit guilty...
As much as her calling him darling all the time made him want to swallow rocks, choke, and die, Ikkaku was not cruel in any way. As much as he was a rough barbarian in some ways, at heart, he was a softy.
Turning around he sighed and looked down at her.
"...What do you want."
Ikkaku stared at the note on his door, unsure what to make of it. He grabbed it, crumpled it up, then walked inside. His mind was a bit confused. Was she asking him as a friend or...no. The bald man shook his head. That was over and done with. It was something he certainly didn't want to fall back into. It was a waste of time and energy...and heart.
Never again.
Regardless, he was going to get ready. Maybe this was something or maybe it wasn't but whatever. It's not like he got anyone asking him to the dance or anything, nor did he even plan on going minus to go play with The Headcanons.
Getting into his suit he had and never used, he strolled out his door, pausing momentarily to think about how this night was going to be. He certainly had to not think in the way he used to...It was going to be difficult, but maybe this was what he needed to end this.
Walking toward the lights where people were gathered as well, he headed for the school fountain, not sure what to think.
