Ren had been in his cabin, trying to calm down from the chaos of earlier, until the loud voice broke through the trees. Avid- but- something sounds off. Avid sounds- scared, and- lost.
"Hello-?! Is anyone there?!?" Avid yells again.
Ren glances out his window, and finally spots Avid. But- once again, something's wrong. Avid's clearly been through something, scratches on his right cheek, a plaster on his left and a scar under the same eye.
There's no sign of the green vest, the bandages that are usually around his neck, or the quiver full of silver-tipped arrows. Instead, on top of his white shirt, there's a brown cloak, which looks like something from Drift's closet, and a black sash under is, draping the opposite way the strap of the usual quiver would.
Beige pants instead of black, and dark brown converses in place of his usual black boots.
It could be passed off as something taken from Drift's wardrobe. Maybe- maybe Avid needed to wash all his clothes- but the state of these ones make it seem unlikely. They're tattered and torn in places, showing scars littered across every inch of exposed skin. Hell- there's even burn marks on 'Avid's' legs!
It'd be almost impossible for anyone to get this beat up in such a short span of time, even for Avid. So- if this isn't Avid,

For Renhardt to not believe in the supernatural would be to deny his own past — to deny what the witch has done to him, to deny what his own voice has become, to deny everything that has been leading him to his present. As optymistic and hopeful he tries to be, despite his age, he is aware that there might be more supernatural hiding between shadows. More than his old eyes can notice and way more than he will ever have a chance to understand.
But now he isn't all alone against the cruel world he can't understand. People of Oakhurts are his friends, companions in this fight of light and darkness, people he must protect like a hound protecting his human. And sometimes the hound leaps foward, meaning to defeat the danger before there's a chance of it causing any harm to the unsuspecting owner.
So when a horrible, terrible creature, claiming to have a face of his friend, comes knocking on his door, he must trap it, learn what it is and most importantly, discover how to kill it.
"Young Avid, what has happened to you?!", he yells back, running out of his cabin to meet the injured man. The curse has notes of blessings in it — it covers up pretty well when his voice would ring false notes of lies. "You look like you've went through depths of hell itself seven times at least, don'cha know?"
He gives the creature a hand, letting it lean on him for support. His face looks worried, his actions seem genuine. He might be no doctor, but he is the one able to give strenght in just few words, like a preacher during a sermon. He is the one ready to protect and help with his life, no matter how dire situation seems.
