Earlier in the year I started work on a big collage of every version of Viiveh I've ever come up with. I got really far with it but eventually burned myself out before I could finish. I was stuck in the shading phase and needed to adjust the color palettes across the whole piece. Since I'm not sure when or if I'll ever finish this, I wanted to put it up online and share a nearly completed version.

I'm really happy with how this turned out, regardless. 25 different Viivehs! I called it "Viivehs in a Trenchcoat"

If by some miracle you managed to beat the Empress and take control, what would you do?

Viiveh: "If by some miracle that happened, and I actually became the next empress of Alternia, and I wasn't ogling to be beheaded before too early..."

"Oh man, what would I do? It's not something I've ever stopped to think about, it just seemed like an impossibility, and also something I didn't want. Maybe I'd rollback a lot of things she did, stop the cullings, let the adults comeback, stop expanding the empire and focus on the various civilizations we've conquered or colonized. That'd be good, right?"

"I don't actually know what it's like on those other planets. Can't be worse than here."

This took me over 2 months (on and off) to finish sketching all 24 versions of Viiveh. I'm so happy with it!! So many little blorbos all crowded together, hanging out and causing a scene. I really scraped to bottom of the barrel to fill this up with every version of him I could think of from the past. I really can't believe I've made 24 versions of one single character 😅

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 31 :: Halloween

I DID IT! Holy crap I actually made it to the end of the month. I’ll be honest, I didn’t have much faith in myself at the start of this. I thought I’d give up eventually, that’d it be too much for my feeble mind, but I MADE IT! There were plenty of moments along the way where I stumbled, I almost always stressed out over making everything look good and right, and endlessly bothered my friends that are actually good and quick with their art. Irony, Pidge, Deer, Pine, and Meraki, I thank you for all your help.

Kind of a redraw of another piece I did. I think I’m just really attached to that silly expression he’s doing, and the witch outfit from Splatoon, which is the masc design but with the sparkles from the fem design. I really love the whole vibe here, and still have it set on Alternia.

This took me 5.5hrs.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 30 :: Memory

It’s funny, when you first met him he seemed so nice. He was ready to help you up, ready to lay down his life to keep you safe and sound. He said he cared, he told you you meant something to him. You didn’t stop to question how he always seemed to know where you were, or why he was paling around with those other violets that attacked you. There was a reasonable explanation, right? Everything he told you wasn’t a lie, was it? He’s your moirail… he wouldn’t… would he?

Yes. He would.

Viiveh holds nothing but hate for this guy, his “moirail” who manipulated him for a few sweeps, using him cause he’s small and weak and an easy shot for the throne, long as he can fight V’s battles for him. A grade-A asshole right here. It broke Viiveh when he found out, and he still had to stick with the guy, knowing he was dead otherwise.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 29 :: Details

This is how Vexxin’s headset works, to the best of my creativity. He controls it with his mind. No special psychic abilities, it just reads his thinkpan. The actual computer desktop part of it, the OS, just gets beamed into his head, rather than play across the lens extremely close to his eyes. It’s not VR, it’s AR.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 28 :: Mundane

That feeling when you’ve just woken up, you’re barely lucid, and you just have to stand and wait for the coffee maker to brew while all your focus is on keeping you balance.

I don’t know what to say about the style here. Keeping only Vexxin and the coffee maker in full color made sense to me.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 27 :: Nature

Vexxin takes a moment to admire the inherent beauty of Alternia on a crisp night. The green moon looms. The water is still. He feels so small.

This was very different from anything else I’ve done. I treated this exactly like a Bob Ross painting, following some of his methods. No sketch layer involved, just a lot of brush strokes that came together perfectly. Ironically this would have fit with the space prompt from yesterday.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 26 :: Space

We have here adult Viiveh lounging in the cockpit of his (stolen) ship. He’s still pretty small for that seat, but it fits Rhanek nicely.

Sorta kinda wanted to do like a pinup of sorts with this. Not sure if it turned out that way, but it looks nice.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 25 :: Hatsune Miku

Vexxin is walking down the street, minding his own business, when he spots none other than HASUNE MIIKUU of Vocaloid fame. What are the chances? She’s in her street clothes today, but there’s no mistaking that hair. She’s happy to take a selfie with Vexxin, and she even gives him some merch. Vexxin pretends he didn’t see stacks and stacks of shirts in her sylladex, since the thought of a gift just for him made him happy.

This is a unique design for troll Hatsune Miku. She’s a teal with leek horns, which I’ve seen others do, but her casual clothes come from her Sand Planet design. Her sign is from that design too. Her hair is naturally black, but she dyes it that teal color. She needs to get her roots touched up.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 24 :: Beach

Oh look, it’s the “moirail” again. Haven’t seen this guy in awhile. Still visually shrouded in mystery, just a silhouette to our eyes, and words incomprehensible. There’s a real conversation going on here, with this manipulative a-hole giving Viiveh one chance to walk back into the ocean before he has to get physical.

The moirail. Yeah this dude is the reason Viiveh survived as long as he did against other fuchsias, and the reason he went into hiding. He’s an abuser and manipulated Viiveh for sweeps just for a chance to rule Alternia through some runty shrimp fuchsia. He’s artistically depicted as he is for a few reasons. He doesn’t deserve to be known, Viiveh doesn’t want to think about him so much of him is censored for us, and i just dont want to come up with a real design for a character that only exists to cause harm to my favorite boy.

OC-TOBER 2022 :: Day 23 :: Art Style

I have a friend. Their name is @dddeerbo for this prompt I decided I wanted to try and mimic their art style as best as I can. Not the easiest task, their style is recognizable but also all over the place. Very pretty stuff. This? I think it turned out well. Not perfect, but DEFINITLY doesn’t resemble my own style, and I still used my usual brushes.
