I just… wanna remind people that asexuality was classed as a mental disorder by the DSM all the way up until 2013…. Because I feel like people don’t know this or like to ignore it because it doesn’t fit into their “asexual people don’t face discrimination” rhetoric.

Asexuality was only removed from the DSM in 2013. Please, know this and remember it.

asexuality is STILL in the DSM they still have a disorder that’s literally the definition of asexuality called “hypoactive sexual desire disorder” which is what they’ve always classified asexuality as. they just added a clause that said “if the patient IDs as ace it’s fine” but it’s not like the general population knows what asexuality is and people want to complain about how visibility is such a high priority for us jesus christ

they’re impact craters! callisto is one of the most heavily cratered object in the solar system, and as far as my very basic research has just gone, the light parts are essentially iced over impact craters

so, essentially, we’re looking at something with a very frosty/icy surface. they’re bright because they reflect the sun!

There was a knock at your bedroom door and you looked up. Your head was previously buried in your hands and when you uncovered them you saw Logan standing in the doorway. 

He then came over and sat next to you as he put his arm around you. “I’m sorry, Y/N,” he apologized. “I know I’m wrong, I see that now. Sorry I got so mad at you earlier.”

“It’s okay,” you responded.

Logan then kissed your forehead and smiled. “I love you,” he told you.

I’m disappointed that it was a romance fight. I was imagining a physical fight that required him to heal while I bruise and bleed. That would be so much cooler.

I was forced to make up an explanation about the gashadokuro (which I only discovered five minutes ago) and came up with something that will actually make an interesting story.

“It was under the rule of Emperor Kadir. A strange infestation swept across the ocean and destroyed most of the crop. Many of them blamed Emperor Kadir because of his lack of leadership and every attempt he made to fix the issue just made it worse. Worst of all, he still maintained the food for his household, which exceeded what was needed by a lot. The yoseis wanted to show him what he had done, so they brought back the spirits of some humans and yoseis. Unfortunately, their bones were too weak and mild to support their souls while being terrifying at the same time. They had to fuse bones from different bodies. The spirits were angry at Emperor Kadir and what he allowed to happen to their land so one night when he was having a gathering with officials, the gashadokuros invaded the palace. Most people were either too scared or surprised to do anything. The gashadokuros lifted the humans up and bit their heads off. Instant death. Kadir watched in horror before the same was done to him. Some gashadokuros eventually stopped wanting to live, so they left the bones and returned to the spirit world. Others are still alive today; biting the heads of humans and fusing the remaining skeletons to themselves to keep their bones strong and durable.”

God damn it. I’m trying to learn Norse Mythology through Brainscape and every time I get ‘Who is Idunn?’, the only thing I can think is ‘Idunno’. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to learn who she is.

Rant Time

I don’t understand some people.

Apparently a character who is shown to be impulsive, always goes for the easy path even if it ends up being a mistake, and is actually really nice but overly defensive is totally unrelatable and not worthy of partner. Certain characters (by writer A) who either sulk, are too clingy or just always try to be the center of attention, on the other hand, are the greatest characters that people have to fall in love with after two meetings. All I did was mention I don’t understand why her characters are so great and I get a complaint from writer B that my main character is rude and ‘uncoupable’.

Unlike her, and the person who I talked to, I have a variety of characters. That’s like, the one thing I’m proud of. I have gentle ones, playful ones, wild ones and manipulative evil ones. You compare their characters and they’re pretty much the same. I have no issue with the characters of Writer B, though. They’re the ‘protective, apparently-kind somehow-knows-it-all’ character. Sometimes it’s a bit annoying, but it’s much less annoying than Writer A. I just happen to like my main character (their plot is really interesting). Besides, if I do play one of my gentle, kind characters, they usually get ignored for guess who - the attention seeking writer.

And as for my character. They’re flawed, I get that, but everyone seems to treat them like scum (character is bigender with slight male preference because they were a cis male in the first draft). They can’t go back to their world because they will die if they did. As they’re bigender, Maori and a werewolf, they never really felt like they belonged. This coupled with being the reason a friend died when they were 12, the character has started to drink, party, and have sex a lot. Of course, this led to more people disliking them and thinking  they are trash. Everyone puts them down so they have built up a bravado, but it’s easy to tell that they have insecurities when you actually talk to him. Despite how people feel about them, they still help when they can and try to be nice. This had led to people calling them ‘fake’ and when they aren’t fake, they’re unnecessarily rude. Nothing they do is good enough for people. Even in fashion - which they are great at - non fashion people constantly put them down for no reason. People constantly treat them like trash and as soon as they stand up for themselves, they’re automatically the bad guy. Oh, and romance doesn’t really suit them because they fall hard. However, they’re too scared to say anything and ruin the friendship so their love usually falls for someone else. They are actually in a relationship right now, but they’re way more into it than the other person who probably has feelings for someone else. Oh, and they have to betray a lot of people in the roleplay or have their eye balls removed as a warning and killed/ brought back to their owner if they continue to disobey. Basically, they’re an impulsive out of place individual who gets stereotyped and criticised for no good reason. They’re insecure about a lot of things yet has to act like their own attorney because as fucked up as they are, they are not the scum that everyone treats them to be.

Surely that is a little bit more complex and relatable than ‘give me attention because no one was giving me attention!”

People get “not normal” and “wrong” mixed up too often. It’s perfectly okay to be any of these things, but as they are not representative of the majority of the population, they are not “normal” traits.

Normal doesn’t mean “majority.” Lots of things are NORMAL and are not a majority. A standard range of things that can be expected does not mean a narrow definition of a trait being the majority.

LGBT+ people are not some deviations away from a default heterosexual norm.

Literal definitions shouldn’t change the meaning of a post anyway. ‘Normal’ means a ton of different things. One definition is “of natural occurrence”, which suits the OPs meaning perfectly. Normal can also mean “of or relating to a neutral salt in which any replaceable hydroxyl groups or hydrogen atoms have been replaced by other groups or atoms, as sodium sulfate, Na 2 SO 4“. According to that, straight people aren’t ‘normal’ either. i It all comes down to individual interpretation.
