More and more reports are surfacing of the strange things happening in the grounds and small things keep going wrong. Good evening everyone, 

I hope you’ve all had a good look at our Halloween Event because it is officially up and running! I can’t wait to see all the fabulous threads you guys will be writing and I hope everyone is having a great October thus far.

On to a little business now, it’s Tuesday which means it’s ACCEPTANCE NIGHT! We will be posting the acceptances in about 2 hours so if there are any last minute applications sitting in your drafts - now is the time to send them in!

Hey there, 

We tend to age up or down characters appropriately to match their bios and the FC’s that are chosen. We have a few characters that we have aged up or down to accommodate their stories (Christopher Robin is 28, the Darling Brothers are in their 20′s, Carl and Ellie from up are both only in their 30′s etc).

Now if you do want to play Kronk or another character younger/older than their current bio and change their faces, that’s not a problem and we will happily accommodate you there as long as it’s a good fit!

The Story:

Patrick was always a nervous type. As a child he was so painfully shy that he didn’t even speak to anyone outside of his family until he was 8 years old. By the time he was 10, he’d been bullied so badly by his classmate that he developed really problem with talking to anyone and when he did, he stuttered. His parents were at a loss on how to help him, despite their best efforts he never really gained any confidence . Their only resolve was to move away from the bullies and hopefully the new place would give them a change that was desperately needed.

But Patrick stopped talking entirely. Change was terrifying to him. While he wasn’t happy at his other school, he at least knew what to expect. Everything was new, new school, new town, new speech therapist and a new fear of being bullied. But something unexpected happened, he met a boy who didn’t think he was strange. One day Patrick was fiddling with a bit of paper and wound up turning it into a decorative flower. The other boy saw this and asked if Patrick wanted to join an after school craft group he was apart of. At first Patrick didn’t go, he couldn’t imagine it being a genuine offer, but after 3 weeks of this boy hanging around and being nice to him, he took a chance.

After that day things changed, he started making crafts all the time with his new friend, he even started talking more. While he still had his stutter, he didn’t worry about it as much because his friend never made fun of it. Years passed and slowly Patrick’s confidence grew and while he was still shy and didn’t really talk to strangers, he had a happy little group of friends to spend time with. And then there was college. He applied for a general art degree and was able to create and craft all day long, and even shared a room with his best friend. For a short while he was happy. But all good things come to an end. His friend got engaged to his long time girlfriend right out of college, and that broke Patrick’s heart. Suddenly he wasn’t going to have time for him anymore and the overwhelming sense of panic Patrick hadn’t felt in years took over once again.

He started spiraling and there would be weeks at a time that his anxiety was so bad he couldn’t bring himself to leave his house. At least until he heard from one of his college friends. They’d lost touch over the years, but had seen an ad for The Disney Pier and they had a crafting position that reminded him of Patrick. It took Patrick months to build up the confidence to send in his portfolio, but eventually he did and within 24 hours he was offered a permanent position as a crafter. He was given free reign to decorate and design the inside playrooms of The 100 Acre wood and even go as far as to design and create toys for kids. He was beyond nervous, but also a little excited. Kids were so honest and he’d never had much of a great experience with them, but being able to craft and create for 14 hours a day sounded like a dream come true to him.

should we stop all other threads not from the event until it's over?

Absolutely not! The event is something unto itself -  if you still have threads going that you want to continue, 110% keep going! The event is meant to act as a fun way for characters to develop and interact with others. We have no problem with “multiple timelines” happening all at once here - as long as the writers are enjoying it. The only thing we require for the event is the appropriate triggers to be warned or tagged and then the event posts to be tagged with thedisneypierevent and tdphalloweenevent to clarify which ones belong where. 

Long story short, if you still have threads you want to keep going with - then do so!

Ahh! This ask has watered my crops. Most certainly, can do.

His small broken family means the world to him, even though his son doesn’t know Arthur is his father. He may call Max to check up every so often to see how things are at home.

Arthur tends to see the world around him a lot differently than most. There may be something on the Pier or Strip that he would find unusual beauty or happiness in.

Photography is his escape and passion. Besides his job on the Pier, he might have a few pet-projects in the works on the side.

He’s an incredibly friendly soul and loves interacting with others. He may ask Pier-goers or passing pedestrians to pose for a photograph.

Come one, come all, to The Disney Pier Dress Up Halloween Ball!

It’s a spooky time of year, and something more than just the Haunted House is giving the guests the heebie-jeebies. Old Hallow’s Eve has that mystical something that brings out the very best and very worst in people, and where better to see that than at a Halloween Ball!

It’s a mandatory dress-up event that all our wonderful staff are invited to. The only requirements are a costume, and that you are not allowed to return home before midnight. Our event is happening at the Haunted House and will start at sundown on Halloween. We will begin our party with a seance, followed by a good old fashion dunking for apples event. and then a fabulously extravagant party that will go until the sun is up. If it ever rises again! 

So grab a costume and a drink  - this evening will be one you might want to forget! 

Our event will run from the 21st of October until the 4th of November. That is 3 weeks for you and your characters to participate. For this event, please presume that all character action happens during Halloween Night itself (even if when you’re writing doesn’t match up with the dates). This is a totally voluntary event and if you do not wish to participate, you do not need to! 

All posts relating to this event should be tagged with thedisneypierevent and tdphalloweenevent.

During this event please tag ALL TRIGGER WARNINGS both before your post (similarly how we do in the bios) and in your tags. 

If you would like something dark or potentially drastic to happen to your characters - please double-check with the main if it’s something that would violate our rules, but other than that, it’s free reign for everyone! 

So enjoy this month and this event, and Happy Hallow’s Eve!

At the minute we do have a few people on Hiatus and I know that this month is very busy for everyone (including myself and Admin Charles) so things are a little slower here than normal. Now I will say that there are still writers that are here and active in the interim and a Halloween Event is in the works,  so it’s entirely up to you when you want to apply!

Yes we are very open to changing a FC. The only requirement we have is that the FC is a good fit both in aesthetic and personality. If you have a FC change in mind that you'd like to discuss with us, feel free to come off anon and myself and Admin Charles will be more than happy to help!
