I’ve yet to watch the last three Harry Potter movies, and I kind of never want to because I love the books so much and I know they’ll just make me angry
but everything I’ve seen of Daniel Radcliffe as he’s gotten older makes think that he’s not an inherently bad actor, he just much more comfortable doing comedy than he is doing serious acting
he’s still not Harry though
You must be the only person on earth who thinks that.
I am entirely okay with this

I’M DONE
i cried in public
happy tears…very very happy tears…
it makes me happy that I can read all of them in my head with spot on impressions especially Jason Bateman
when did we start deciding being gay was bad
humans have often been flaming homos for freaking centuries. millennia, in all probability
it was widely accepted in the east and romanticised by the greeks and i just Do Not Get It
same with being a woman
i…
I haven’t done tons of research into it, but one has to be wary about using a few examples of acceptance and applying it to the whole society. Any poems I’ve seen are about emperors and princes, those at the very top of society, it doesn’t immediately follow that homosexuality was acceptable for all pockets of society. Like I said I’m not an expert, all I’m saying is one has to treat historical evidence really carefully.
In terms of the perceived hatred or disregard of women, it’s a confusing one, its always been easy for societies to hate minorities, they are different to the societal norm and there are less of them than there are of you, but women aren’t a minority, at least in terms of numbers. You wonder how it comes to be that a society by in large can decide to disregard half of its population.
Anyways, I don’t want to look like a smart arse for using ‘one’ instead of ‘you’ in some places, just trying to make the point without sounding like I’m accusing anyone. I’m joining in the discussion here rather than arguing against you, if that makes sense.
yeah i get it but
using the japanese example
the middle classes also had (documented) gay lovers and of course it would mostly be emperors and princes. history is pretty much biased by definition.
it was all men, for instance. no gay women in japan. none at all. apparently. it was mostly prostitution and seriously older man younger man situs when there were male-male couplings as well. little unethical.
i’m not saying i want to go there. i’m not saying that that society ROCKED and we need to emulate it totally. i’m saying “look. look what people were accepted for doing. look what was considered fine and just as worthy and beautiful as straight love.” and i want to know why hundreds of years later we’ve…. regressed.
from my vague knowledge of early European history I'd say its probably the fault of the catholic church - which is ironic considering some of their practices
totally unable to divorce images of these two from the fact I ran into them filming Sherlock in London
Beautiful Pipedream of the Day: Dinotopia Art Show
Since 1992, artist James Gurney has been working on Dinotopia, a series of paintings and illustrations that bring dinosaurs to life in extraordinary settings. If you want to check out his artwork in real life, a collection of Gurney’s paintings, reference materials and even a handmade scale model of his fantastic world will be showcased in a feature exhibition at the New Hampshire Institute of Art all through March.

I don't remember it being this dark when this happened
before that last post I hadn't posted for almost a month, it's astounding,
time is fleeting...
" A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other. A solemn consideration, when I enter a great city by night, that every one of those darkly clustered houses encloses its own secret: that every room in every one of them encloses its own secret; that every beating hear in hundreds of thousands of breasts there, is, in some of its imaginings, a secret to the heart nearest it! Something of the awfulness, even of Death itself, is preferable to this. No more can I turn the leaves of this dear book that I loved, and vainly hope in time to read it all. No more can I look into the depths of this unfathomable water, wherein, as momentary lights glanced into it, I have had glimpses of buried treasure of and other things submerged. It was appointed that the book should shut with a spring, for ever and for ever, when I had read but a page. It was appointed that the water should be locked in an eternal frost, when the light was playing on its surface, and I stood in ignorance on the shore. My friend is dead, my neighbour is dead, my love, the darling of my soul is dead; it is the inexorable consolidation and perpetuation of the secret that was always in that individuality, and which I shall carry in mine to my life's end. In any of the burial places of this city through which I pass, is there a sleeper more inscrutable than its busy inhabitants are, in their innermost personality, to me or I am to them?"
Charles Dickens - A Tale of Two Cities
Yes.
Sam the Eagle is the best and most criminally underrated Muppet
ariel’s uncle used to work in a zoo and he basically raised this one orangutan from birth and that was about eight years ago and i guess he went back and visited the zoo a few days ago and he was talking to the orangutan handler and said “oh i raised Hannah” and apparently they have been teaching the orangutans some sign language and the handler brought ariel’s uncle over to Hannah and she did some sign and the handler FREAKED OUT and so his uncle asked him what it meant and get this, the orangutan said
“I know him, I know him and I love him.”
Orangutans are the best
it is neither spring nor day, and neither am I bicycling
but this is the best song ever to listen to while bicycling on a Spring day
and yes I'm talking about metaphorical springs as well
