A Session with Her.

Me: I am always disappointed with myself?

Her: What do you mean?

Me: Other people. They seem to just go after the things they want, without thinking twice about whether or not they deserve them.

Her: What kind of things?

Me: Careers, partners, clothes, experiences,...everything really.

Her: And you think you don't deserve these things?

Me: I don't think I deserve the good version of them. I haven't done anything good enough for that. I think if I'm lucky I'll settle for the second-hand version.

Her: Would that satisfy you?

Me: No, but then no one could call me out. No one could say I acted entitled, or reached for more than I'm due.

Her: You don't want more?

Me: I do. But...

Her: But you're willing to sacrifice the best that life has to offer so that no one will think of you as entitled?

Me: Yes.

Her: And that doesn't sound entitled to you?

Me: What are you saying?

Her: You don't think it speaks more to your character to try to "go after things" as you put it? Like everyone else is trying?

Me: But what if I'm successful?

Her: Then you would be happy.

Me: But is that fair?

Her: Fair to who? To you? Yes, it is.

Catching Colour. 

Took a bike ride along the lake when I came across this beautiful butterfly. Whipped my camera out so fast, I’m surprised she waited for me.
