fetishization isnt a compliment and it doesnt make you an ally!!!! just an fyi!!!!
kinda fucked up how we live in a world where “hey dont support pedophilia / abuse / incest” is a controversial statement
Like, look–if you’re shipping to cope you need to do that where nobody can see it.
“You just hate survivors” mmm buddy no, you’re showing clear disregard by posting it into the tag for the public to see.
hm. or, how about this? other survivors can, i dunno, take responsibility for themselves by - wait for it - blacklisting tags and blocking users/posts and not expecting everyone else to cater to them!Â
i’m triggered by substance abuse, including recreational drug use. and unfortunately for me, lots of folks don’t tag that shit so yeah, i see it everywhere i go, be it online or irl.Â
i would never, ever demand that anyone stop creating content featuring substance abuse/recreational drug use. not even when “stoner!characters” became popular in a few of my fandoms. i did my best to avoid that content, and it worked for the most part. if it didn’t, i left the fandom, because it is not my place to try and dictate what other people can or cannot create and consume and distribute and enjoy (that’s literally the purpose of fandom). my triggers are not their triggers, the same way their triggers are not mine.Â
the entire purpose of fandom is to find like-minded individuals and share ideas, content, etc., with them. that is the point. that is how, and why, fandom was created in the first place.Â
if you don’t want to see something, then it’s up to you to figure out how to avoid it instead of demanding that other people stop sharing the content they enjoy when it’s their every right to do so. in fandom - unlike in the real world - fans actually go through great lengths to tag their shit so it can be avoided by those who don’t want to see it. and the fans, few there are, who don’t tag their shit can easily be unfollowed and blocked.Â
one final thing: don’t you dare tell other survivors how they should and shouldn’t cope, especially if they’re coping methods are working for them.Â
have you ever considered the fact that not everyone who enjoys “problematic” content for coping reasons is a creator? so these people actually rely on other creators to share their work, because otherwise they’d be assed out? but i guess you only care about survivors who aren’t into shit you deem to be “gross” or “problematic.” those who are can just fuck themselves. not yours, or anyone else’s, problem, amirite?
here’s the thing: practically all of us do take responsibility to blacklist and avoid the shit that these people throw out there. but we cant always do that, now can we? some of us go to extreme lengths to avoid that shit.
once again, maladaptive coping mechanisms arent good. maladaptive coping mechanisms, while they are coping mechanisms, need to be replaced with other coping mechanisms.
spewing out pedophilic and abusive content that can be used to groom, abuse, and harm others isn’t okay.
ive considered that not everyone who partakes in problematic (AND LEMME TELL YOU pedophilia portrayed in a positive fucking light is absolutely problematic) is a content creator.
again, maladaptive coping mechanisms need to be fucking replaced with healthy ones. it’s hard to--finding new coping mechanisms--i fucking know, but maladaptive coping mechanisms aren’t the best thing to do when you’re trying to cope.
Like, look--if you’re shipping to cope you need to do that where nobody can see it.
“You just hate survivors” mmm buddy no, you’re showing clear disregard by posting it into the tag for the public to see.
It’s ok to be proud of doing things that are hard for you, even if they’re easy for most people.
you know what would be Great? if we could go back to when being “daddy’s girl” meant you were spoiled by your dad and not a grown woman who roleplays pedophilia and incest to get your partner off.
you know what would be Great? if people stopped criticizing what some people do behind closed doors when it affects you in no way what so ever.
if yall did it behind closed doors I wouldn’t fucking know about it, carol.
I know there’s a big thing about “you hate victims” if someone says you shouldn’t ship something, but please consider:
other people are trying to cope in their own ways
maladaptive coping mechanisms are still maladaptive
other people / victims who are trying to cope in their own ways shouldn’t have to see your content
people can use your content to groom and abuse others
