Canadian Politics

This is strictly my opinion. 

Kevin O’Leary just announced his candidacy to lead the conservative party to according to him “victory in 2019″. Well Canadian politics just got interesting. We all know him from Dragon’s Den / Shark Tank. We know him as Mr. Wonderful a greedy Investment Guru that cares about nothing else but making money. He shows us that he has no compassion for the dreams of entrepreneurs.  If he is not making money he is not in at all. 

However, a day after his announcement he gave an interview in which 70% of the time he was talking about job creation and deficiency in the current spending habits of the Canadian Goverment. In such interview he used words like “drones”. This means that he is a technology advocate when it can lower cost for the federal goverment. He used this word when talking about the Canadian US border which is the longest non-militarize border in the world. We can use drones to do surveillance which I agree on rather than using what we are currently using to save money. 

Justin Trudeau has the rockstar aura in Canada. He enjoys of popularism not only in Canada but around the world. The conservative party has nobody else that can stand toe to toe against Justin. Justin might have done a thing or two that are not morally correct but for me he did them with no ill-intention. But he has to realize that as soon as he became Prime Minister he is not Justin Trudeau anymore, he is not the Prime Minister of Canada and all his actions will be judge by Canadians. What he says or does is now on behalf of  Canadians. 

But Justin Trudeau represents what Canada stands for. Kevin O’Leary doesn’t. We have a “bigly” bully coming into the US presidency. Justin Trudeau has until 2019 to prove that he will not be a push over for Trump and that he will stand for all Canadians. If he fails to do so Canada will find itself in a position where another Bully will be required and Kevin O’Leary might just be that. 

Kevin O’Leary said that in his world there are no walls. I believe he doesn’t have same views as Trump. He is not sexist, but not a feminist, he is not against the gay community but he is not a supporter. He does believe in Immigration as he is a son of immigrants himself. 

I am a supporter of Justin Trudeau. I think he is doing all the things needed when it comes to immigration and helping middle class families. But it’s true that we need to create more jobs and he is failing to do so.  We as a nation had other priorities when he came into Office and I believe that he will turn things up a notch now that he has solved some of those issues.

I think Canada is in for a treat. Below is the interview I talked about above with Mr. Wonderful.

Innovation Needed

The Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017 of the World Economic Forum is out now. This report shows us which countries are the most innovative. It can be innovation in several sectors including health, finance, IT, environment, etc.

For the 7th year on a row Switzerland retained the number 1 spot as the most innovative economy in the planet. Below is an image showing the top 10.

Notice something? Yes, Canada is not among the top 10 most innovative countries in the world. A country which was named the second best country to live in 2016 by several entities. Canada belonging in the top 5 best countries to live and not making the top 10 list of most innovative countries makes no sense. Canada is a country with vast land, a top-notch education system (there is room for improvement), peaceful country, low-crime rate, a good political system but our economy is not innovative enough. I believe that we have very talented people across the country in all areas, health care, finance, auto industry, telecommunication, IT, environment, etc.

I think that with the government working on the budget for 2017 a good portion of it should be allocated towards innovation in our economy. We are the second best country to live in today but if we don’t create and nurture an innovation oriented economy who knows if we will make that list in the future.

I don’t think we should allocate money to corporations already established. But more money into research, universities labs, into our young entrepreneurs, motivate them to create the newest app or something that helps humanity as a whole.

I would be nice for the world to know that the next big thing came from Canada.

I have hope in the people of Canada. I have hope in this new government. I have hope in our future.

Rant

Sometimes we walk through life been ungrateful for everything good that happens to us. Remember to give thanks. I am the type of dude that sees a person in need and when I see something good happening to that person that satisfies that need gets teary eye. The fact that I get teary eye doesn't make me less of a man it makes me human. Stop settling for an average job, relantionship or life in general. Walk through life like you own it. Rant over.

Boxing fans including myself want to see Canelo vs GGG.  That is the fight that we need and want.  Canelo won in a spectacular fashion this weekend via KO against Amir Khan. Khan is a world class fighter but he is no GGG.  Canelo vs GGG would be a ground/record breaking fight.  As a boxing fan and Canelo supporter I didn't see the fight this weekend.  I had total confidence that Canelo would walk about victorious and to be honest I am tired of watching fights that promoters want to make but not the fights that boxing fans are dying to see.  The last time we wanted to see a fight it took 5 years to make it happen.  Many claim that both Pacquiao and Mayweather were on their way out and that's why the fight didn't live up to the expectations that we all had on them two.  I don't want to wait another 5 years to see a fight. Boxing fans all over the world demand and want this fight.  Both Canelo and GGG are on their prime right now. Make this happen!

Every once in a while we live just to live. Live life recklessly. Sometimes we forget who we really are for many reasons, past experiences, our surroundings or maybe even TV shows that influence our behavior. Every once in a while everybody needs a wake up call that brings you back to who really you are. I know I got mine.

I’ll give it to you straight, Hillary Clinton will be the next president of the US and she is the leader the world needs right now. Many of us mostly generation Y would love to see Bernie Sanders as the president of the US. I know I would like it. I would like to see FREE education in the US along with all the changes that he proposes. However these are the changes the US wants but doesn’t need at the moment. Trump? Let’s not go there yet. My reasoning to think that Hillary is the president the US needs right now is below.

First Barack Obama has been in my opinion the best president that I have seen in the US in recent years. He was able to recover the US economy after what Bush did to it and drop the un-employment rate. In summary he was able to change the country and give it the stability economically, and politically that the country needed. The country right now is not in a perfect position but it is definitely heading in the right direction. More important he has done well when it comes to the US image internationally. Some of these changes of good will include opening diplomatic relations with Cuba, and strengthening their relations with almost every ally and country in the world. The states needed to bring back their economy, create more jobs and fix all the internal issues that the last government created. They needed to address all the issues they had internally in order to reassure the world they are the leaders. With the huge improvement of the Russian economy and continued improvements of the Chinese economy the US needed changes that would place  them as the world’s powerhouse once again. With the US improvements during the last 8 years they were able to suppress Russia as a power house and come on top over other economies that were threating the US “world’s power house status”. Now the US needs to remain on the same track they are in right now with minimal change and continue to improve to remain on top. I believe the best person to do this is Hillary.

When Obama was campaigning for his first term he promised change. A change that America much needed and he delivered! Bernie Sanders promises changes that we would all like to see but that the US doesn’t need at the moment. Sanders promises drastic changes that could affect the US economy and might even bring it down once again putting in danger their status as world leaders again. Bernier Sanders is the people’s candidate but unfortunately not everybody will vote for him. The more conservative democrats (who are the majority) will vote Hillary and that’s why she is the front runner.

The media give Sanders and Trump more attention as they both propose the more drastic changes. They are both more entertaining than Hillary who is not your average politician. She was not born a politician like Obama or even her husband are. But she is the smarter choice to go with during this elections. The media gives us a complete breakdown of what Trump’s and Bernie’s supporters are like, but overlook Hillary.

As for Trump, well Trump is Trump a highly entertaining reality TV personality. Unfortunately he will become the Republican’s candidate. He will easily beat Cruz and join Hillary in the general elections. Trumps policy changes are a danger to the US Homeland Security. His policies of hate and discrimination will increase the terror attacks in US soil and will greatly hurt the economy as well as their international relations.

I feel we overlook how much of an impact Hillary’s presidency will have in US history. Remember we have a huge chance of having the first female president in the history of the US! History works in funny ways, right now we have the first black president of the history of the US and it will be followed by the first female president of the US!! Hillary Clinton won’t win because of the hope she bring to the table she will win because she brings the stability that the US needs right now.

A month ago Trump called “Mexicans” referring to all Latinos drug dealers and rapist saying we should be kick out of the country.  Now Trump is asking to stop Muslim migration to the US due to ISIS.  Not all Latinos are drug dealers &  rapist and not all Muslims are terrorist.  As a matter of fact I don’t think ISIS represent Muslims. Let’s remember that the US gave a huge step forward by electing their first black president.  Hopefully US citizens won’t allow Trump to take the country two steps back. #AWorldForEverybody #PeaceAndLove #PeaceLoveandTacos #HummusAndPita #latino #Merica #ForwardThinking #nyc

Florentino Perez pidió hoy dejar a Benitez trabajar y que los triunfos llegarán. Con que cara pide el Presidente tiempo para Benitez cuando el no dejo a Ancelloti trabajar. Ancelloti nos dio la Décima y various trofeos más en su primer año. Su primer año fue el mejor en la historia del Real Madrid cuando a trofeos ganados se refiere. Los jugadores jugaron tan bien y tantos torneos que se desgastaron. Jugaron La Champions, La Copa del rey, La Liga, Mundial de Clubes, y más.. Cuando empezó el 2015 los jugadores estaban cansados y Florentino no le dio una oportunidad a la plantilla ni al entrenador de levantar cabeza si no que despedido al entrenador. Una decisión en contra de la afición y de los propios jugadores. El debacle de el Real Madrid empieza cuando Ancelloti pierde su medio campo, Di Maria y Xabi Alonso. Mi razón de pensar es por lo siguiente. Porq se venian tantos torneos que se necesitaba tener a dos jugadores por posición y no cualquier jugador se necesitaban jugadores de experiencia. Si Xabi se cansaba o lesionaba entraba Kross. Si Di Maria se cansaba o lesionada entraba James. Pero no el vendió a el mejor jugador de la final de champions y al eje del equipo. Que paso? James se volvió trascendental para el equipo y cuando se lesionó el equipo nunca encontró quien tomará su posición. Si Di Maria estuviera no habría pasado esto. Me parece que el presidente cometió un error al vender a Di Maria, Xabi Alonso y mucho más grave al decindir de los servicios de Ancelloti. Nunca había visto a un entrenador unir tanto a un grupo como lo hizo ancelloti.

XL Pipeline

So how much power did Harper have on this matter? Obama was not in favour of this pipeline obviously it has taken him 2 full terms to make a decision on this. Trans-Canada knew they had no chance of getting approval for this pipeline with a Democratic president. However they never gave up since Harper was pushing for this pipeline. When Trudeau took office he said he was not against this motion but wouldn't push for it as hard as Harper did. Two days after Trudeau took office Trans-Canada pulled the cord on this motion and asked for it to be suspended. Obama elevates his status as world leader when it comes to environmental issues two weeks before the environment Congress takes place. Trudeau obviously doesn't care as much for the pipeline as he cares about the environment as well. Leads me to belive this application was still been processed because of Harper's pressure. Mayweather vs Pacquiao is finally happening! Many claim the fight is 3 years late and that both fighters are way past their prime. However I think that both fighters will train as hard as they can and it really won’t matter if they are in their prime or not. The legacy of both fighters is in stake with this fight so I strongly believe we will see a aggressive match weather this fight happened 3 years ago or now. MAYWEATHER Many claim that Mayweather has been “ducking” Pacquiao for the longest time. Weather he admits it or not this fight will have an in pact on his legacy. If he wins many will claim he is the best fighter of all time. If he loses many will claim that he “ducked” Pacquiao as he knew he was the only that could beat him. And his legacy could be jeopardize in the eyes of many. PACQUIAO As for Pacquiao I personally think that he has the least to loose on this fight. He is already seen as the best by many in the world as he is more “like able” than Mayweather. His life story also gives him an advantage over Mayweather went it comes to been “like able”. If he wins the fight he will be the seen as a “hero” the only one that was able to “detrone” Mayweather. If he looses it will be just another lost and I don’t think the outcome of the fight will have a negative impact on his legacy. To conclude an exciting fight is approaching. A fight we will talk about for the rest of our lives and we will make sure our kids and grandkids know who Mayweather and Pacquiao were. Mayweather has more to loose in this fight than Pacquiao. Disclaimer. I am not an expert on the field. This is just my opinion. Don’t catch feelings.
