Apologies for the lack of posts in a... long while!! My brain has not been into furbies much lately- hopefully soon I’ll have more furby motivation again!
for now, enjoy some old photos!
my beloved lavvie <3
Pretty boy atlas decided to sunbathe with his worm friend, Wormbur Soot! Look at him go!
okay guys i think i’ve officially reached the point of wanting to customize one of my furbies😳
if anyone has any links or shops or advice/suggestions on where to start when it comes to eyechips it would really help. i have no idea how to take them out/put new ones in/make new ones or where to buy custom ones. my inspiration comes from those furbies on here with glittery sparkly, colourful, maybe pastel, has little star charms or chunky glitter etc.
thank you🥺
for removal: hot glue sticks! Just the sticks! Melt one end of each stick a little bit and shove em onto Just the eyechip part. (you’ll want them to be skinned for this!) then, put the furby in a freezer or fridge (don’t worry, they will be completely unharmed!) and wait for about five or ten minutes. this shrinks the glue holding the eyechips in! then, you can take them out and pull on the hot glue sticks. It may take a few tries!
For new eyechips: you can clean the old ones with rubbing alcohol (and letting them sit in it overnight) or you can buy new clear ones! I suggest etsy,, the size of an adult 1998 furby is 14.5mm, but if you cannot find those exactly, 14mm works too! You can either buy them clear and make your own colored bits or buy them already with glitter and such!
Everyone please meet ATLAS the husky furby! he’s quite quiet until you get to know him, and then he’s very loud and proud about his hobbies and is not afraid to voice a conversation or pepper in a hot take if you will. he always turns a blind eye to Lavvie and Missy’s crimes, much to the dismay of Casia and Custard, who are just trying to keep some darn order around here. Someday, he wishes to have a very cool boyfriend and live in a tiny house with one too many plants. Tumblr and Choccy are his brothers, and they care about him very much, even if they don’t always understand him. Atlas loves pears, the color gray, the smell of the rain, puddles, Tuesday, and a nice rock. he someday wishes to find a friend to give bones to, to show his affection. Please give a warm welcome to furby number 20!!
i’m obsessed with this
and then, two months later....
🥺
crows are so cool I cry
So I finished my next project! I decided to customize furby that I got second hand. He was cute before...
But right now he looks how he always should be. I change almost everything 🤣 Shape of mouth, color of fur, tale and hair on his head. I add necklaces, earrings and roses on his head, colored his mouth, eyelids and eyelashes 💗 Also I change his eyechips.

Hi furby community, this post is a little more serious. CW: injured pets
Recently my beloved cat Boo got a lump on his jaw. We found out that it’s a tooth root abscess. The only option is to remove two teeth, or else the abscesses will form again which is painful and dangerous. The vet quoted us $1000 for the surgery, which we don’t have, not even close. He needs this surgery though, or he could die.
I’m making this post because I’m trying to reach out and make any money I can to put towards Boo’s surgery. He is 15 years old and has been in my life since he was a kitten and I was a child. I cant stand the thought of losing him.
I’m an artist, looking for any commissions I can. I can make almost any kind of work, keeping exclusively to digital art at the moment to make it easier to send my clients their art. I’ve included various drawings to give an idea of what I could make if you decided to commission me. (please excuse any decline in image quality as I took screenshots from my art page) Depending on what we make for you it could be as cheap as $5.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that every little penny helps. My mom and I are on a fixed income and barely have enough to live off of. We are doing our best to try and save and find money to save our pets life. Even if you don’t want a commission or can’t it would mean so much if you could reblog this so it can reach as many people as possible.

Thank you for reading🧡

Bean’s way to create an OwO beak.
So you may have seen my furbies like Pongo or Salem or even the fake furby Furbish which has a reverse owo. I hope you enjoy this tutorial and it helps you! If you have any other questions, please let me know! Also please excuse my bandaids I jabbed myself while sewing.
The tools that will be needed to complete the owo task include:
A sharp implement
An implement that can poke things out from tiny places
Something that has the ability to grab
A colored pencil
Sandpaper
and the furby beak of course!
Other tools like hot water, hair dryer, dust mask, and protective gloves are optional, but all safety precautions are suggested.
Here are the tools I used
You will need to begin by skinning the furby then removing its beak. Using your poking implement poke out the rod that holds the beak together.
After the rod is poked out, you are easily able to remove the top and lower beak as well as the tongue that easily pop out. Please place all these pieces in a place where you will not lose them. I try and lay them out in a way so that I remember how they will go back in. The top beak part is always the one with the hooks on the outermost sides.
Take the top beak and using your colored pencil ( a colored pencil easily rubs off when everything is done) draw a line down the middle of the beak and then from that line create a triangle for how big you want your owo mouth to be. Keeping in mind you will be sanding some later.
Before this step for ease of carving it may be helpful to place to the beak in hot water or to use a blowdryer on the warm setting to soften up to plastic to make it easier to cut. I use a boxcutter because it is a little safer and easier to control and grasp. Using your sharp implement and wearing gloves or having an adult do so for you, with sawing motions begin to cut your triangle out.
Using a method with heat makes this process go a little quicker and sometimes smoother. Usung the sawing motion to go deeper and remember to saw the edges of the beak where your triangle ends. I put a little pressure in the cuts as I go to see where the cut is on the other side.
Keep in mind these photos are positioned in a way to show whoever is using the tutorial on how it is done. It is best to use both hands at all times. You will make your way through the beak and be able to take out the rest with your gripping implement. You may need to twist a bit to have it release.
After this has been accomplished, using sandpaper round out the edges to how much you want the owo curved. It is also helpful to sand the cut edges and the top of the triangle as well to give it a softer look.
When all this is complete, you now have an owo mouth! Congrats! I am so proud of you! If you want, you can paint or decorate the beak as well. To put the beak back in it is best to put the bottom beak, then the tongue, then the top beak on the furby. Then lastly slide the rod back in!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and I cannot wait to see all the cute creatures you create! Have fun and be safe! If you need any help, please let me know!
UPDATE: a nail clipper is also reasonable to use instead of the sharp implement shown. It is safer and quicker!
this!!! i use nail clippers and nail files!
Reptiles and Power Outages
1. Do not feed your reptile. If your area is expected to lose power, you’ve got some advance notice. Reptiles NEED heat to digest their food; without that heat, that food is just going to rot.
2. Continue to offer water.
3. Know your reptile’s requirements. What’s life-threatening for one critter might only be a mild nuisance to another.
4. If you still have hot water, you can fill up some jugs with hot water and put these in your reptile tanks. Cover your reptile tanks with tin foil to conserve heat.
5. You can make small space heaters with a tea light, a pot, and something to elevate the pot by a few centimeters. Light the tea light and put the pot over it, making sure there’s a gap at the bottom so oxygen can still reach the candle. This produces more heat than you’d expect.
6. You can pack up your reptiles in reptile shipping boxes. These are insulated cardboard boxes. You can also use styrofoam containers. Line the bottom of the box with crumpled newspaper. You take your reptile, put them in a small container—-like a deli cup with holes poked into it or a critter keeper or something similar—-and put them on top of the newspaper, and kinda nestle some extra paper around it loosely. Insert a handwarmer between the box and paper layer, so it’s NEAR the deli cup but not in direct contact with it. Finally, cover them with more loosely crumpled paper to help conserve the heat.
It’s VERY important that your reptile does NOT come into direct contact with the handwarmer. These get VERY hot. They also consume oxygen, so airflow is essential.
You can also use reptile shipping packs. These tend to last longer (40 hour packs are the most common, but they can last as long as 72 hours).
7. Wood stoves are super helpful! Bring all your reptiles into one room and close the door. The goal is to keep one room cozy at this point.
You probably won’t be able to maintain the ideal temperatures for your animals, but don’t worry too much about that. These animals are hardier than that. Keep warm and keep safe!
If your r.ats and m.ice thaw out in the freezer, throw them out. They’re no longer safe for your reptile.
IMPORTANT!
