Hello! I'm in my 30's, male, and my pronouns are he/him/himself. You can call me Bluebell, if you want. I work at a cat foster home/boarding facility. I'm partnered with a few rescues and primarily work with kitten social development and behavioral management with adult cats. You can see lots of pictures of cute cats in my 'work' tag. I also reblog a lot of reptile stuff. Well, animal stuff in particular. But reptile stuff in specifics. I'm lucky enough to have 3 leopard geckos (Aurora (W/Y Bell, f), Amp (Hypo, m), and Bantam (W/Y Bell, m), a bearded dragon (Ngarehu), a gargoyle gecko (Theta), and a crested gecko (Twinkie). I also have three cats (Kaylee, Yardstick (yes, THAT Yardstick) and Saia), and a dog (Truffle). They have their own tags. I'm happy to answer questions about reptile care or cat behavioral inquiries! If i can't answer a question, I'll do my best to direct you to someone who can.
I’m no longer going to answer asks along the lines of ‘What do you think about X Youtuber?’
I feel like I’ve already made it clear that I don’t watch ANY pet youtubers. I don’t WANT to watch any pet youtubers. I’m not going to watch them just so I can form an opinion on them. That’s homework and I’ve earned the right to never do homework again.
I haven't talked about this yet because I just haven't had the strength.
My dad abruptly entered the hospital a couple of weeks ago, went into hospice, and died last night. I was fortunately able to be with him when he went, which I am VERY grateful for. He was very well cared-for while he was there, and died completely peacefully. My boyfriend and I hung out with him for a few hours until the body donation people came, and walked him out.
I am now dealing with figuring out what this does to me financially, because nothing helps grief like dealing with the SSA, and MASSIVE family drama over the inheritance, and trying to get bills put in my name when I have no money for deposits. Nobody knows what's going to happen with probate but it's looking like it's going to get really, really ugly.
We had JUST learned about special needs trusts and had begun the paperwork of creating one for me, to protect my inheritance, and dad went into the hospital just days before we were to sign and never regained the capability to do so. I am absolutely gutted. I was going to use that to help get us out of this hellhole state in a controlled fashion. We have to pay the lawyer for what he was able to do, which is get the house in my name.
So yes, good, the house is in my name now, but if my dad's bank accounts have been drained, I have no idea if I will inherit enough to be able to pay the mortgage, which is half my SSI income.
So we are going to need to ask for help, possibly a lot of help. Hundreds of dollars at least. I think around $400 for utility deposits, if nothing else.
My boyfriend's PayPal is [email protected], if you want to help and can afford to. I'll be putting up a sale link for his shop later, and if I can manage it, a post breaking down our expenses that we currently know about.
Right now I'm just...exhausted and sad.
Please find ways to be kind to one another in this life. It's all that really matters.
Elderly pointer mix who did his best to point at various objects of interest. He pointed out:
A dropped pen
A clump of fur
The dog scale
His owner's shoes
The door. Several times.
Husky shepherd mix with a beautiful trot. Only stood still while getting a treat, at which point she was immovable. A river would shift it's course before she would leave her treat uncrunched.
Kitty in a backpack carrier :) not orange but I am including her anyway.
Hound mix with big opinions and the deep desire to share them. Also generously shared his fur. I think he shed more than the husky mix.
Feeling braver every day. He still does not want to be touched and hisses if he sees me looking at him, but at least he's willing to come out of hiding during daylight.
Another cutie I almost took home. She's a rocket launcher though once that kennel opens up you better be a good catcher because she'll throw herself at you!
