Hello! I'm in my 30's, male, and my pronouns are he/him/himself. You can call me Bluebell, if you want. I work at a cat foster home/boarding facility. I'm partnered with a few rescues and primarily work with kitten social development and behavioral management with adult cats. You can see lots of pictures of cute cats in my 'work' tag. I also reblog a lot of reptile stuff. Well, animal stuff in particular. But reptile stuff in specifics. I'm lucky enough to have 3 leopard geckos (Aurora (W/Y Bell, f), Amp (Hypo, m), and Bantam (W/Y Bell, m), a bearded dragon (Ngarehu), a gargoyle gecko (Theta), and a crested gecko (Twinkie). I also have three cats (Kaylee, Yardstick (yes, THAT Yardstick) and Saia), and a dog (Truffle). They have their own tags. I'm happy to answer questions about reptile care or cat behavioral inquiries! If i can't answer a question, I'll do my best to direct you to someone who can.

I feel like I’ve already made it clear that I don’t watch ANY pet youtubers.  I don’t WANT to watch any pet youtubers.  I’m not going to watch them just so I can form an opinion on them.  That’s homework and I’ve earned the right to never do homework again.

Mugsy is meeting a potential family on Sat. They're actively looking for a special needs cat with a preference for a Persian. Fingers crossed it works out.

Dogs seen at the vet:

Bully breed mix - very calm. Serene. Walked beautifully on a leash. Very zen creature, with the aura of a capybara.

Shih tzu (mix? Not good at identifying fluffy whatnots) who decided it was her solemn duty to announce the arrival of anyone with one or two yips each time. No one asked her to do this but she took it upon herself anyway.

Orange kitty :) fluffy.

Aussie shepherd mix with a Job. Unsure what it was but he was very serious about it.

Small shorthaired dog mix. Cannot begin to guess what went into him besides "bit of everything". Happy little thing. Soft floppy ears :)

More dogs seen:

Long and low red merle herding mix with an e collar. Maybe mixed with terrier? Something gave it pricked ears. The vet was probably responsible for the e collar.

Pocket bully who looked very sorry for herself.

Yellow dog who looked absolutely zonked. My man was on another planet. This did not stop him from trying to make friends. It did stop him from walking in a straight line.

Great pyranese who was indeed very Great. Lorge puppy. Absolute mountain of a dog.

Ok. Ultrasound done.

It doesn't look like ibd because his intestines don't look inflamed. I'm not sure how good a look the specialist got because Yardstick wasn't sedated. While he's a good and patient boy, I can't imagine he was perfectly still for the whole ultrasound.

There are some worrisome masses in his stomach. I'm going ahead with the fine needle aspirate to see what we're dealing with. Lymphoma is getting higher on the list.

I need to know.

Since he'll be sedated for that, it gives the specialist another close look at his intestines, especially in the loops.

There's a possible partial obstruction in his stomach as well. That deserves another look under sedation.

Intake vet tech: and does Yardstick have any other medical history?

Me: (completely forgetting that he's literally missing a foot and an eye) no, nothing significant. :)

Vet tech, who knows damn well that most cats have four legs and two eyes: Are you sure?

Me: (slightly confused) he has a tendency towards gastroenteritis when he gets stressed?

Vet tech: (very patiently) do you know how he lost his eye and foot?

Me: oh! No. I got him like that.
