How many agents did Loki control in total? Because some of Loki's people joined voluntarily, because they were enemies of the Shield. Certainly, the number of people controlled by Loki is smaller than the number of people controlled by Wanda. Marvel, think about who is the hero and who is the villain.
Loki only mind controlled Clint, Slevig and another Shield agent. All of other people where Shield’s enemies who were gathered by Clint and joined them voluntarily.
The number of people Loki mind controlled while he was under the influence of mind stone:
3
Population of Westview that Wanda mind controlled and refused to let them go even when she realizeed what she had done:
3892
Major double standards. This isn’t the first time Wanda has gotten away with mind control. What’s been interesting is more fans seem to be noticing this time-it really didn’t sit well with many people that she did not apologize.
Also, apparently the writer of the show said that she wants Wanda to be seen more as a gray character, like in the comics, where she goes back-and-forth several times. I think that would be great, but the majority of fans have to get their heads out of their asses and stop this whole black and white thinking. I think the MCU is trying to do that but it’s going to take a while for people to catch up. At least I hope so because otherwise it’s gotten ridiculous, some of the things you can get away with with the hero label. Clint Barton literally went on a murder spree and the Avengers basically acted like he had just had a bad day-let’s be honest-they never would’ve judged a regular person that way; they’d be locking them up. They gave him a pass because he was one of their own. (Some people say Clint snapped-and I’m quite sympathetic to that. However, according to most fans, people like Loki, Killmonger, Zemo and even Tony in some cases don’t get to use that as an excuse, so why should he?)
I think the black and white thinking of fandom is because of the narrative. The writer might wanted to show Wanda as a gray character but I don’t think they did a good job because the hero/villain coding was still there.

maintaining friendships as an adult be like
I keep thinking about that story I read online about some dude who moved to a bigger city for university, once remarked to his peers in the student housing that "it smells like a storm coming", and they were like bruh what the hell, and had a full-blown argument about whether you can smell a storm coming or not.
And then the next morning someone sarcastically asks him what today's weather will be, he decides to fuck with them and frankly answer the question, and then it becomes something of a routine, that he'll open a window or step outside to smell the air and tell them what he thinks it'll be like today.
And he's so reliable that they actually start to count on his predictions when they choose what to wear for the day, more than one of them actually tell their friends about "that dude in the dorms that can smell the fucking weather", not exactly a celebrity but it's just The Thing He Is Known For.
While really after the first incident he just started checking the day's weather forecast online before getting up.
This is a lovely example of how the Ragnarok filmmakers retconned everything about Thor and Loki’s relationship and twisted their characters.
According to Ragnarok, it’s Thor who wants to talk things through. Thor wants to bring up their family issues. And Loki chooses not to talk.
Let’s just have a little stroll down Memory Lane to Reality Check Street, shall we?
Thor 1:
Thor habitually undermines and shuts his brother up, to the extent that Thor’s friends—and even the servants—openly show disrespect for Loki.
In the final moments, when Odin rejects Loki, It becomes brutally clear that this is the dynamic: Loki will never be heard in this family.
The Avengers:
Thor never once asks Loki why he’s come to Earth, or what happened to him in the void. He makes the worst assumptions about his own brother.
Then, he literally puts a gag on Loki and goes out to eat with his new friends.
The Dark World:
Despite everything that has gone before, Loki is still making overtures to Thor—still trying to reach his brother.
Loki: “Did she suffer?”
Thor: “I did not come here to share our grief.”
Then, Thor gives the first of several threats that he’ll kill Loki if he “ betrays” him.
Still, no one has ever asked Loki why he tried to take over Midgard. Odin has passed his harsh judgment, and Thor apparently agrees with it, though Loki never had a chance to defend himself. His life is only spared because Frigga is soft hearted. The entire family apparently believes he deserves to die.
Infinity War:
Loki reveals that he has taken the Tesseract from Asgard’s vault before the planet was destroyed. Thor doesn’t consider why Loki might have taken it. The assumption is that Loki “stole” it for some nefarious purpose. He snaps to his final judgement of Loki; literally the last words he ever says to his brother.
Endgame:
Loki is in this movie for about 2 minutes, and in that time Thor gags him.
Thor did nothing but shut Loki up and shut him down in every movie—but in Ragnarok, Thor’s the one who wants to talk it out?
The truth is that Loki was always desperate to be heard. Desperate.
If one person in Loki’s life had been willing to hear him, rather than treating him like dirt (Odin), ignoring him (Thor), gaslighting him (Frigga), mocking him (the Warriors 3), despising him (Sif), distrusting him (Heimdall), and betraying him (all of the above), things would have turned out very differently for them all.
Just one small example of how Ragnarok disrespects Loki and violates canon.
Great analysis @lelliefant !👏👏👏 I actually think it’s worse than that. Because even in TR we have a moment before this scene, when Thor is in prison, that Loki goes to mourn Odin with him and talk to him. Loki tries to open up, to talk to him about how Odin lied to them both and that it hurts being lied to. Perhaps Thor can understand him now. But Thor dismisses him and gives him the silent treatment. Later, in this scene Thor tells Loki that we should talk. Loki is only allowed to talk on Thor’s terms. And this control, even on when Loki can talk, is worse than Thor’s ignorance in other movies.

Because a tip is supposed to allow the waitstaff to get themselves a drink at the end of the day

I read that this whole batshit model came about as a method to keep restaurants afloat in the Great Depression: pay the workers next to nothing, and force them to rely on customers’ charity to get paid.
After the Depression, restaurant owners LOVED not paying jack shit for labor, so even though the economy boomed, it was never changed.
Gotta fucking love capitalism.
