“Nothing special?” Lysandre asked, blinking in surprise, “If I am not mistaken...I am currently talking to the Champion of Sinnoh! That seems like something very special!”

It was a little confusing as to where this sudden sense of modesty was coming from. Before, she seemed so sure of herself. So flirtatious. Was she regretting the night before? Did she think that he was just going to kick her out, and never speak to her again. To be honest, more often than not, he rarely kept in contact with the people he had one night stands with. They were never interesting enough, or they simply just left to brag about it. But Cynthia was different...he enjoyed her company very much. 

“Please, let me treat you to lunch. It’s the least I can do. Besides...I’d like to get to know you more, as well.”

There was something about her that made Lysandre want her to stay. He was drawn to her. He wasn’t sure what, but he had to find out. Swiftly, he followed after her to the other room. 

“No, wait!” he called out, perhaps a little more desperate sounding than he meant to, which made him curse at himself under his breath, but there was no taking it back now. He managed to get in front of her, no doubt surprising (or even scaring) the poor woman. There was an awkward pause, making Lysandre clear his throat before he spoke up again.

“...I insist you at least let me gather your belongings. And perhaps let me take you out to eat? I don’t want you getting yourself caught up in one of those dreadfully awful cafes in a place as grand as Kalos!”

“Unless this is actually Augustine talking. In which case, I wouldn’t be surprised by that either.”

Augustine stared for a moment. Of course he hadn’t expected Lysandre to know everything about fairy types, he wouldn’t have expected anyone to - but he would have thought he would have known the difference. Before he had to brush the comment off, he watched as his friend sat down, allowing the small Pokemon to interact with him better.

“Well, if there’s one thing I do know about Fairy types, they only have to worry about Steel and Poison for the most part.”

He paused, looking out into the field with Hoppips and Butterfrees blissfully living alongside the pokemon. 

“Especially in a place like this. It’s not likely you’re going to find any threats to them here. That’s probably why they flourish.”

It seemed more and more little fairies started crowding around him. He didn’t particularly mind, they meant no harm. It was just a hassle for him to shoo them away when he left. Even then, one or two still managed to hitch a ride until they got back to town. At least they weren’t Weedils. 

But that was enough about pokemon, he needed to do some catching up with his closest friend. 

“But anyway, how have things been for you, mon amie? Hopefully not too stressful?”
